‘I Don’t Know What Came Over Me’, Man Who Killed Wife, Sons Said

The police in Benin Monday paraded Uwaila Idehen, the 35-year-old man who shot and killed his wife and two sons in Benin, Edo State.

The incident occurred on Sunday at Ovbioge village, in Ovia North-East Local Government Areas of the state.

Uwaila who confessed to killing the victims said he did not know what came over him when he carried out the act.

He alleged that he bought the English-made double barrel rifle from a late police officer, licensed it and sometimes use it for hunting.


He said, “I am a tipper driver. We are two children in my family, my elder sister and me. I am 35 years old. My wife had three children for me, a girl and two boys. The girl is six years, and the boys were three and two years old respectively.

“I don’t know what came over me, and I was not drunk. Due to the nature of my job, my wife always accused me of having affairs with other women, but it is not true.

“At times, when she sees me with my female customers, she will start an argument with me, but I always assure her that there was nothing like that and that my concern was how to take care of the three kids we had together.

“I always walk away whenever she got me provoked but that Sunday, I don’t know what came over me. Instead of just leaving the house, I picked up my gun and shot through the door and the bullet pierced through the plywood door and hit my wife and the two boys. The girl narrowly escaped.”

The state Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said the suspect would be charged for murder and perhaps unlawful possession of a firearm.

Disturbing R Kelly Footage Proves He DID Know Aaliyah Was 14 When They Married

R Kelly DID know his protegee Aaliyah was underage months before he married her illegally, newly discovered footage appears to prove.

A lawyer for the disgraced singer, who is the subject of new documentary series Surviving R Kelly, has continuously denied that his client knew the late Aaliyah was just 14 when they married in 1994.

But a documentary filmed earlier that same year shows R Kelly - real name Robert Kelly - discussing Aaliyah's age as he worked on her debut album, the controversially titled Age Ain't Nothing But A Number.

Acting as her producer, Kelly could be seen in the footage watching Aaliyah as she crooned into the microphone.


"Right now I'm producing a very talented lady - a young lady. She's 14, Aaliyah. She's real street," he told the camera crew.

Kelly refers to the underage teen as "baby" in the clip and instructs her on sounding "more street" as he brushes up close against her in the small recording booth.

Later in the documentary Kelly takes the 14-year-old singer on a lunch date, chaperoned by a member of his crew.

The pair first met in 1992, when Aaliyah was just 12. Her uncle Barry Hankerson, who was Kelly's manager at the time, introduced them, and Kelly even namechecked the girl in his single She's Got That Vibe - his lyric "little cute Aaliyah's got it (that vibe)" clearly referring to the pre-teen.

They appeared on a joint Video Soul interview later in 1994 where they were asked about the nature of their relationship, but Aaliyah refused to tell host Leslie Segar her real age, insisting it was "a secret".

A short time after the Video Soul interview, Kelly and Aaliyah reportedly married in an Illinois hotel room on August 31 1994.

A Cook County marriage certificate - published by Vibe magazine - listed Aaliyah's age as 18 - she was actually 15 at the time.

Kelly's new attorney Steven Greenberg last week denied that his client knew of Aaliyah's real age at the time of their illegal wedding, which was annulled a short time after.

The amorous pair were filmed getting intimate in broad daylight on a city centre roof in the Argentinian capital city of Buenos Aires.

Shocked eyewitnesses captured the moment on film as they looked on from neighbouring buildings.

The carefree couple were seen having s-x in a number of different positions, despite other people walking nearby.


They are later seen lying n-ked in each others arms, as two other people wander along a lower level of the building, completely unaware of the saucy scene above.

The couple appear to realise they are being watched as the man waves towards the camera before they leave the rooftop after getting dressed.

He then goes on to give a cheeky bow to his audience.

The incident was filmed in the Monserrat area which includes Buenos Aires' oldest neighbourhood and some of the city's most important public buildings.

It was recorded by a number of office workers who later shared the footage on Twitter .

Military Cargo Plane Crashes In Iran, 15 Killed

A Boeing 707 military cargo plane crashed in bad weather on Monday west of the Iranian capital, killing 15 out of the 16 people on board, the Iranian army said.

A flight engineer survived and was taken to hospital, the army said in a statement carried by the semi-official Fars news agency.

The plane went down near Fath airport, near Karaj in the central Iranian province of Alborz.

"A Boeing cargo 707 place carrying meat from Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan had an emergency landing at Fath airport today ... the flight engineer has been dispatched to the hospital," the army said.

"It exited the runway during the landing and caught fire after hitting the wall at the end of the runway," the army.

The army's statement came after some confusion over who owned the plane. Earlier on Monday, a spokesman for Iran's civil aviation told had told state TV that the plane belonged to Kyrgyzstan, while a spokeswoman for Kyrgyzstan's Manas airport said the plane belonged to Iran's Payam Air.

Police File Charge Against Dino Melaye

The Nigeria Police Force has filed a charge against Kogi West lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, for alleged illegal weapons possession.

In the charge, which has been filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the police said a pump-action gun was recovered from Melaye’s house in July last year  during a search of his property in Kogi State.

In the charge, marked, FHC/ABJ/CR/07/2019, the police said the offence contravened Section 27 of the Firearms Act.


The charge sheet reads, “That you, Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West district in the 8th National Assembly, on or about the 20th day of July 2018, at about 12.30 hours under the jurisdiction of this honourable court, unlawfully had in your possession one automatic pump-action shotgun and 20 cartridges, which were recovered at your residence located in the Ayetoro Gbede area of Kogi State, when a search warrant was executed on the directives of the Nigeria Police Force at your above mentioned residence under your control and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27(1)(a)(i) of the Firearms Act Cap F28 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.”

The police also listed eight persons as witnesses.

The witnesses comprise six policemen and two men who were painting Melaye’s house when the policemen came to search the property.

They were identified as DSP Babagana Bukar, DSP Ibrahim Abalaka, ASP Abdullahi Musa, Inspector Atabo Okpanachi, Inspector Apeh Peter, Theophilus Nuhu, Matthew Anthony and ASP Mohammed Onu.

A Nigerian man with the name, @Jumabee on instagram was shocked to see a 13 year old boy drinking beer at a bar in Benue state.

He disclosed that the 13-year-old boy who bought 4 bottles of beer and drank it all, sat with so much confidence and the boy revealed he has been coming to the bar with his uncle, since he was 11.

So i was in a meeting with friends at a bar in benue and dis young boy bounced in with so much confidence sat and ordered for a bottle of beer..As an African man dat i am it was difficult for me to ignore coz the question i asked myself was what if he was my kid brother?? Just In! Tribunal Adjourns CJN Onnoghen’s Case Till January 22

The Danladi Umar-led three-man Code of Conduct Tribunal on Monday adjourned proceedings involving the charges of non-declaration of assets preferred against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, till January 22.

Umar ruled that the tribunal would hear Onnoghen’s motion challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal at the next proceedings.

The tribunal adjourned the case after the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Aliyu Umar (SAN), conceded that Onnoghen was improperly served with the charges and the summons.


Umar conceded that the CJN was not personally served with the charges and the court’s summons, as required by the law.

He, therefore, requested the three-man tribunal led by Danladi Umar to direct a fresh service on the CJN.

Onnoghen was absent from the Monday’s proceedings.
