TOOR! Party Allegedly Formed By Rochas Okorocha Adopts Atiku As Its Presidential Candidate

The Action Alliance which was formed by Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has thrown its weight behind Atiku in the race for Aso Rock, Vanguard claims.

Governor Okorocha formed the AA in 2005 after he was unable to secure a presidential ticket in the PDP and APGA years back.

It will be recalled that Okorocha's son-in-law and anointed candidate to succeed him as governor, Uche Nwosu dumped the APC for AA after he failed to obtain the party's ticket for the gubernatorial elections.

In a statement by its national secretary, Kenneth Udeze, the party made it clear that it is in support of the Atiku/Obi ticket.


He said: “We are for Atiku/Obi leadership and we are glad to work with all believers of true federalism and efficient administration of governance at all levels to accomplish this as we approach the forthcoming elections.

“The National Executive Committees (NEC) of our party are on the same page concerning our support for Atiku, same with all our state chapters in this matter.

“We hereby restate out position through this medium that AA as a certified and active member of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has not for a moment reconsidered or wished to alter that position.

“For your information, AA moved the motion for the adoption of Atiku as the Presidential Candidate of CUPP, and we are on it to the end.

“It is our unshakable/unfailing resolve to work for the emergence of Atiku/Obi, in the presidential election, and that we must not only be seen to be doing, but to truly do.

Opposition Parties Celebrate IGP Ibrahim Idris' Retirement With Cake

There was celebration in the ranks of opposition parties as the retirement of police IG, Ibrahim Idris was announced. The group under the umbrella of the Coalition of United Political Parties cut a cake to celebrate the occasion, it’s spokesman, Imo Ugochinyere claimed.

Ugo told journalists in Abuja that the cutting of the cake was meant to symbolise the end of Idris’ “era of shame and inglorious past.”

Ugochinyere said a portion would also be sent to Idris and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Pussycat Dolls Want Their Collaboration With R. Kelly Removed From Streaming Services

The #MuteRKelly movement has grown in force since Lifetime aired a new docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly, which details the 52-year-old singer's alleged abuse of women.

And The Pussycat Dolls are the latest artists to try and get their collaboration with the R&B star pulled from streaming services in light of the claims.

The former girl group's label Interscope are said to be working overtime to try and get the band's duet Out Of This Club removed online, according to TMZ.


The Pussycat Dolls - formed of Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Carmit Bachar, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta and Kimberly Wyatt collaborated with R. Kelly for the duet in 2008.

R. Kelly is accused of running an 'abusive cult' over several years at his homes in Illinois and Georgia, as he allegedly preyed on dozens of young women.

Six-part documentary Surviving R Kelly claims the star lured teenagers at the mall and outside their schools, eventually holding them captive.

International Criminal Court Acquits Ex-Ivorian Leader Laurent Gbagbo Of War Crimes

Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have ruled to acquit former Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo of war crimes, ordering his immediate provisional release after more than seven years in custody.

Gbagbo, 73, and Charles Blé Goudé, a close ally and former political youth leader, have been on trial since 2016 for war crimes allegedly committed under Gbagbo’s leadership.

He faced four counts of crimes against humanity, including murder, r-pe, persecution and other inhumane acts during post-electoral violence in Ivory Coast between December 2010 and April 2011, when Gbagbo refused to accept defeat by rival Alassane Ouattara.


The ICC judges found that prosecutors did not present enough evidence directly linking the two men to the crimes committed.

"The chamber by majority hereby decides that the prosecution has failed to satisfy the burden of proof to the requisite standard," Presiding Judge Cuno Tarfusser said.

“[The court] grants the defence motions for acquittal for all charges for Mr. Laurent Gbagbo and Mr. Charles Blé Goudé, and orders the immediate release of both accused,” he added.

Fresh! Saraki Snubs IGP Idris’s Handshake During Armed Forces Remembrance Day

The cold relationship between the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, today became visible in Abuja during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, with the former refusing to accept a handshake extended to him by the police boss.

Saraki and Idris Both were at the event held at the National Archade, Abuja, to mark the climax of the activities of the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.

The police chief, who was standing near the mounted podium at the event, had saluted the Senate President, preparatory to a handshake as has been the practice, but instead of walking towards Idris to accept the handshake from him, the Senate President steadily looked at him and walked away to shake the service chiefs who were standing together with the IGP.

Unknown Gunmen Kill Newly-Wed Couple In Lagos

A newly wedded couple, Mr. and Mrs. Owonoko were on Saturday, January 12, 2019 shot dead by daredevil gunmen in what residents claim was probably a case of mistaken identity.

According to witnesses the gunmen gained entry into the couple’s apartment in the night at their apartment located at 10, Fakambi Street in the Egbeda area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The couple who just moved into the apartment few months before they met their untimely death were mistaken for the former occupants of the apartment.


A witness say they heard the gunmen inquiring the whereabouts of the former occupants of the house, who they didn’t know have moved out, before killing the couple.

One of the security guard at the estate who gave his name as Bright said he believes the dreaded gang were hired political thugs who were after the life of the previous occupant of the flat.

He believes the same gang had attacked twice before they killed the Owonoko’s while trying to hunt one Mr Azeez Akinrinola a youth Leader in Egbeda and a staunch member of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.

A dog has been given a lavish send-off as his owner said he deserved the same respect as any family member. Captain the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 11, died on Christmas Day after suffering a cardiac arrest on the operating table.

Owner Sasha Smajic, 37, said she didn’t eat for a week after his death. In total she spent £4,249 {N1.954,000) on the funeral, including £225 on a dove release and another £620 on getting his name written in flowers.

Sasha said: ‘I don’t think I’ll ever celebrate another Christmas. I don’t think I would ever have the strength to do that – a piece of me has gone.

Captain’s body was taken from the vets in a horse-drawn carriage to a park where he used to go for walks. His coffin was then transferred to a hearse for the 40-minute drive to Willow Haven Cemetery in Bedmond, Hertfordshire.

 Cemetery owner Maureen Beach read a poem at Captain’s graveside with 11 doves – one for each year of his life – being released at 2pm during the service after he was lowered into the ground. Afterwards, Sasha went to the pub where she put a plate of chicken and chips on the table ‘as that is what he would have had’.

Buhari Appoints Adamu Mohammed Acting IGP?

Indications emerged, last night, that President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Adamu Mohammed, as acting Inspector General of Police.

It was gathered that the appointment followed a meeting the President had with the outgoing IGP, Ibrahim Idris, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Federal Government is officially yet to confirm this.

Sanchez, who was revealed to be romantically involved with the billionaire shortly after he announced he was divorcing his wife of 25 years on Wednesday, has a penchant for 'living large,' the insider added.

In fact, during a shopping trip with girl friends to high-end department stores Neiman Marcus and Barney's in Beverly Hills, Sanchez took home a $12,000 designer shoe haul.
