Below is the SOS Cabassa sent out...
‘My attention has been drawn to a rather alarming post about Lord of Ajasa’s health. I believe it is necessary to quickly address this before the public is misinformed. Lord of Ajasa was diagnosed with Pelptic Ulcer and he is currently at the Hospital and being attended to. @baddosneh @9iceofficial @babanla2phat and myself have been in touch with the wife and Ajasa. Let everyone be clear that Ajasa has not been neglected as been widely suggested by certain people.
I speak for everyone concerned when I say that We are not aware of the online post making the rounds which is not necessary. To set d record straight Ajasa is not a wasteful Artiste or careless as being suggested by a lot of people. I pray we don’t get ill or sick… He is responding to treatment and hopefully might not need surgery. Please let’s pray for Ajasa’

IGP Adamu Talks Tough, Blames Weak Leadership For Problems In Nigeria Police
The acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has blamed the rot and inefficiency in the Nigeria Police Force on deficient leadership.
In what appeared to be an indictment of his predecessors, the new Police chief pointed out that the absence of good leadership was the missing link in policing in the country.
Adamu said this during his inaugural address after he received the handover notes from Idris at the force headquarters, Abuja on Wednesday.
The former IG, who was dressed in a cream traditional wear with black cap, presented the Police flags (standard party) to his successor.
The acting IG stated that the NPF had thoroughbred and passionate officials who could hold their own among their peers in the world, adding that all they desired was a transparent, accountable and knowledgeable leader who would be sensitive to their needs.
Adamu stated, “Amongst you seated in this hall today are some of such thoroughbred and passionate professionals who can hold their own amongst their peers and have consistently distinguished themselves in complex national and international engagements.
“All that you desire, from my experience, is a transparent, responsive, motivational, accountable and knowledgeable leader who will not only treat you with dignity, but who is sensitive to your welfare needs and fair in the manner your promotion and other reward regimes are addressed.
“The absence of this level of leadership has always been the missing link in policing in Nigeria.”
With his appointment, the new police boss said he was determined to draw on his national and international policing leadership experience to “bridge this missing link.”
He admonished the officers and men of the force to focus on the forthcoming general elections, adding that in the coming days, there would be concerted police deployments to ensure quality election security service delivery by the force.
Adamu warned that the police would not condone electoral violence, calling on all the political parties, their members and Nigerians to support the police in ensuring violence-free polls.

Ex-Lions DB Tony Beckham Beats Up Man He Found Masturbating Near Daughter's Window
A former Detroit Lions defensive back beat up a man he said he found masturbating outside his daughter's window in Florida.
Tony Beckham told WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach that he found a man with his pants undone and fondling himself while leering into his 15-year-old daughter's room after she had showered Monday morning. That's when Beckham reacted.
He told the TV station he yelled at the man, who tried to run away. After chasing him down in the apartment complex's parking lot, Beckham said the two "had a good conversation."
That conversation resulted in several broken facial bones for Geoffrey Cassidy, 48.
Beckham's wife, Amanda, told WPBF she called police, who arrested Cassidy for lewd and lascivious behavior with a victim younger than 16 years old. He's being held in Palm Beach County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
WPLG-TV in Miami reported that police first took Cassidy to the hospital to treat his injuries. He reportedly denied the s-xual act, saying he was in the neighborhood because his car broke down and he was waiting for it to cool.
Beckham, 40, was drafted in the fourth round in 2002 by the Tennessee Titans. He was there until 2005 and played for the Lions in 2007, his final NFL season.

I Made Statement Under Duress, Alleged Kidnap Kingpin, Evans, Tells Court
An alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a Evans, has denied his confessional statement after his arrest in 2017, saying it was made under duress.
Evans told Justice Adedayo Akintoye of Igbosere High Court, Lagos on Wednesday that he signed the statement to save him from being tortured to death. Evans is currently facing charges, bordering on conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping and attempted murder before Justice Akintoye.
In the first charge, Evans is standing trial alongside Joseph Emeka, Ugochukwu Nwachukwu and Victor Aduba. In the second charge, he is standing trial alongside Joseph Emeka, Linus Okpara and Victor Aduba. At the resumed hearing, Evans gave details of how members of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team allegedly tortured and killed several others who were paraded alongside him in his presence.
He said that the security agents tortured the victims by suffocating them with plastic bags and threatened to do same to him if he failed to cooperate with them.
Evans said that some sheets of papers were brought for him to sign, adding that some of the papers were blank while other had things written on them.
“When I asked what I was to sign the police officers slapped me and even quenched a cigarette on my hand. “The officers were beating me and told me that if anything happens to me, no one will know. They hit my head and blood was gushing, the scars are still on my head.
“When I saw how five men, who were paraded with me, were tortured and killed, I agreed to sign the papers with fear of what happened to the other men,” Evans said.
He also said that the contents of the papers he signed were not read to him and that there was no video recording during the statement taking.
Evans gave the details while a trial within a trial was conducted to ascertain whether his statement was taken under duress or not.
He was led in evidence by his counsel, Mr O. I. Ajanuku. However, Evans was cross-examined by the Lagos State counsel, Mr Jide Martins, to prove that Evans statement was not taken under duress.
Earlier, the prosecution had told the court that the business of the day in the first charge was the adoption of the final written address in respect of the trial within trial done in that case.
The Lagos State counsel, however, said that they have not been served with the address of the defence. Ajanuku, however, assured the prosecution that they would be served by close of work on Thursday. Justice Akintoye, after listening to the evidence, adjourned the case until Jan. 30 for continuation of hearing.

Meghan’s Stunning Sequin Gown Looks Strikingly Similar To Owned By The Late Princess
The Duchess of Sussex put on a dazzling display as she attended a Cirque De Soleil charity performance at London's Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday.
And eagle-eyed fans soon noted that Meghan's ensemble appeared to have been inspired by the late Princess Diana, who would have been her mother-in-law.
The pregnant duchess, 37, opted for a navy sparkling £3,400 floor-length dress by Roland Mouret, similar to the sea green gown by Catherine Walker first worn by Diana at the Burgtheater in Vienna in 1986, and then again to a charity ball at Osterley House in 1989, and the Diamond Ball in 1990.
In a nod to Prince Harry's late mother, Meghan also wore one of Diana's bracelets - an elegant gold, open bangle with two dark stones, as she attended the event in aid of those affected by HIV in South Africa, a cause that was also close to Diana's heart.

Buhari Raises Alarm: Boko Haram Sponsored By Forces Outside Nigeria
Are there foreigners who want Nigeria to remain at war? President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday disclosed that the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents were being sponsored by forces outside Nigeria.
He said the military needed a lot of money for purchase of gadgets, spare parts and arms to completely wipe out the terrorists.
Buhari spoke during a live presidential town hall meeting tagged, “The Candidates” at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, on Wednesday.
“We need a lot of money for the military for spare parts, communication gadgets, arms and ammunition. The Boko Haram are certainly supported by forces outside Nigeria,” the President said.
The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate said he became the candidate of the party because of the support of the National Executive Committee.
He said, “I said it much earlier at the National Executive Committee of our party that if my party recommended me to its executive, I would contest. I did that to save time and wide discussions among members of the party.”
When the moderator, Kadariah Ahmed, asked the President to address the allegation that only members of the opposition parties were being hounded in the corruption fight, he said, “I think that is not a fair criticism. I don’t think that there is anybody that is being pointed out as corrupt in the last dispensation that we looked the other way.”
The President was asked by the moderator what he was doing about allegations against members of his cabinet.
She cited the case of a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, and a petition by a non-governmental organisation against the Minister for Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.
“I have to be careful. But if there are strong allegations and people have bank accounts, names of companies looted, contracts awarded, then we take them before the courts through the EFCC and the ICPC and we have to trust the system,” Buhari added.
The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, said the case of Lawal was before the EFCC and a directive had been issued for his trial.
He noted that all cases involving members of the cabinet referred to the EFCC would receive attention.
Osinbajo also said the President needed another term to consolidate on the gains of his administration.
“We campaigned on three fundamental issues namely, the economy, the fight against corruption and security. In those three respects, we believe that we have laid very strong foundations and I very strongly believe that we are on to much more progress if given a second opportunity,” Osinbajo said.

I Will Privatize NNPC, It's A Mafia Organization – Atiku
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, said on Wednesday that he would privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation if elected, describing the state-owned oil firm as a “mafia organisation.”
Atiku was quoted as saying at an interactive session with the business community in Lagos that he would take the step even if doing so would cost him his life.
He explained that he sold the idea to President Olusegun Obasanjo whom he worked with as a deputy between 1999 and 2007 but that the former president did not approve of it.
Atiku said he was convinced that the NNPC would run better if not managed by the government.
He said, “Let me go back to my experience. When we got into office, I walked up to my boss and said, “Sir, there are two mafia organisations in government: one is the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation while the other one is the National Electricity Power Authority.
“I said unless we dismantle these mafia organisations, we cannot make progress. Let’s privatise them… the long and short of this is that I am committed to privatisation as I have said. I swear even if they are going to kill me, I will do it (privatise NNPC).”
Atiku also spoke on how an expert in the petroleum sector influenced his stance on the privatisation of the NNPC.
The former Vice President said, “I asked a Nigerian professor based in America; I said, ‘Prof, do you have a ministry of petroleum in America?’ He said no. I said, ‘Do you have an organisation like the NNPC over there?’ He said no. And America produces oil more than any country? He said yes.
“So I asked him, ‘How do they do it in America?’ and he said taxation, and I decided that I will go by taxation too.”
Atiku criticised the current administration for the delay in passing the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill.
He noted that the level of unemployment in the country was worrying, saying that the lack of adequate jobs could create a bigger problem if left unchecked.

Reactions Trailing FG's Latest Action Against CJN Onnoghen
The Federal Government has ordered that restrictions be placed on five bank accounts belonging to the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
But the CUPP, the Nigerian Bar Association, a former NBA President, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and Chief Edward Ashiekaa (SAN) have faulted the AGF’s directive that the CJN’s accounts be frozen.
Agbakoba, speaking with The Punch on Wednesday, said the AGF could not validly rely on the Presidential Executive Order 6 because the charges the CJN was being tried for were about false assets declaration and not corruption.
He said, “It is not proper for the AGF to issue those directives because he is not being tried on corruption charges. He was charged with false declaration of assets.
“So, for me the AGF has exceeded his power to issue those directives. So I expect that lawyers, of course, will challenge it. The AGF cannot do that.”
Ozekhome said with this, the nation was heading towards full-blown dictatorship.
He said, “They showed their clear intentions when they filed simultaneously a motion that he should excuse himself as the CJN. Somehow, the plan backfired on the government because of the unanimous public uproar and rejection that greeted it and the tactical move of Onnoghen’s lawyers who refused him appearing physically in court.”
Speaking in the same vein, Ashiekaa noted that FG's action was politically motivated.
“You cannot separate what is happening at the CCT from the issue of the freezing of the CJN’s accounts by the AGF. There were claims that the President wasn’t aware. How on earth can you separate these two issues? The order to freeze the accounts was from the AGF who is a SAN and who was supposed to know better.
“He wants to drag the image of the judiciary through the mud because of politics. The judiciary, which is insulated from partisan politics, is now being dragged through the mud,” he added.

It was said that the truck driver took to his heels immediately after the crash.
The victims were suspected to be a couple and their son but their identities had yet to be determined as of the time of filing this report.
According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred around 8am and involved a black Toyota Corolla car with number plate FGB 940 AA, and a blue truck with number plate LND 274 XP.
The eyewitness told The Punch that the two vehicles had a head-on collision as they were going in opposite directions when the accident occurred.
“We heard a loud sound and when we got to the scene, we saw the car under the truck; it took the efforts of the men of the Federal Road Safety Corps to remove the trapped victims under the truck, “ the eyewitness said.
When contacted, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ondo State, Mr Rotimi Adeleye, confirmed the accident, saying the driver of one of the vehicles lost control and collided with the other coming in the opposite direction.
“Three people died in the accident – a man, a woman and a boy – while the driver of the truck could not be found. It was the car that swerved off its lane to collide with the truck that was coming from the other direction.” Adeleye said.
The FRSC boss also stated that the remains of the victims had been deposited in the mortuary of the Ondo State Specialists Hospital, Akure.

Falana Opens Up: Dangerous Precedents Being Set In CJN Case
Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), has expressed concern about the ‘dangerous precedents’ being set in the charges filed against the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Water Onnoghen, before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Falana, while speaking on Tuesday in Lagos during the
Falana, while speaking on Tuesday in Lagos during the
15th Gani Fawehinmi annual lecture, observed that some of the legal issues already settled by the Supreme Court in the case of Saraki vs Federal Government were being reopened in Onnoghen’s case.
He noted also that the speed with which the various suits filed to challenge the charges against the CJN were heard and ruled upon by the courts was unprecedented.
Falana said, “The most dangerous aspect of what is going on now is that our laws are in trouble. Issues that have been settled by the Supreme Court in the Saraki vs FRN case are being reopened now.
“The question of the appearance of the accused, the question of service; it came up in Saraki’s case. Once you are aware, you have been served. But we are opening it afresh.
“I just saw another disturbing one, the National Industrial Court has waded in to say that the Chief Justice shall not be arrested. Who is talking of arrest? What is the locus standi of the National Industrial Court on the affairs of a judge?
“We are now being told that the Chief Justice is an employee who should be protected by the National Industrial Court. The other one happened yesterday (Monday) when I discovered that a case that was filed at the Federal High Court yesterday (Monday) was processed yesterday, assigned yesterday, heard yesterday and an order was made yesterday. In the last 20 years, it has never happened in any court in Nigeria.
“Please, let us know that we are setting dangerous precedents. And that is why sentiment should not come in.”
He added, “When I said that the proper procedure has not been followed and that the government should withdraw the frivolous charge, I wasn’t talking about the substance of the case, because for me, if you catch an armed robber red-handed and you decide to chop off his hand, you have lost your case; you still have to take him to court and that is what should happen in this case. We must go through the proper channel for dealing with complaints against judges.”

Meanwhile, an Igbo group, Nzuko Umunna, has condemned the planned arraignment of the CJN.
The group, in a statement by its coordinator, Ngozi Odumuko, said, “The circumstances of this planned trial leave much to be desired, not the least because the trial may occasion clear constitutional breaches..."
