Model Down With Tumour Reveals How Her Fiancé Dumped Her A WEEK To Their Wedding

A woman with terminal brain cancer has told of her devastation after her fiancé dumped her just a week before their wedding.

Emily Nicholson, 24, from York, saw her weight soar by five dress sizes within six weeks after she began taking steroids as part of her treatment.

The aspiring model moved to Australia in 2012 where she worked as a bar manager and club promoter before being diagnosed with astrocytoma brain cancer in February 2016.

In spite of the disease, Emily and her then-boyfriend Jamie Smith, 24, had already began making plans to get married when she was given the devastating news in January 2017 that she had just a year left to live.

The once slender size 6 claims Jamie called off their engagement just one week before they were set to get married using Facebook Messenger - a claim he denies.

Emily, who gained 5 stone as a result of treatment for her tumour, initially planned to wed Jamie in August 2016 but the couple had to postpone their wedding until March 2017 because she needed surgery.

The pair also discussed freezing Emily's eggs so she could one day have IVF if she recovered.

Speaking about the moment she received the message from New Zealander Jamie, saying he wanted to 'call it a day', Emily says: 'Jamie messaged me and said he didn't want to be with me and he hadn't loved me for a long time.

'It was horrendous. He made it very clear that he didn't love me. I felt it was because of the way I looked and what had happened.

'Now I don't feel anything about him, he hurt me but there's no point getting upset over it. I've just had to be strong about it all.'

'He told me he didn't love me anymore. For months he'd been going out with his friends but obviously I couldn't do that.

'We were looking to build our lives together in the time we had left.'

Jamie, who works as a cable layer, has denied the allegations stating he broke up with Emily just before they were due to marry.

He says: 'It was the other way around, she actually left me, I never left her. And, secondly, I never left her for anything to do with her weight gain.

'If that was the case I would have left her months before we split up, because she started putting weight on before that. It had nothing to do with that at all.'

Emily's family moved back to the UK in July 2017 after Emily was given her diagnosis and set up a GoFundMe page in the hopes of fundraising enough money for her to have access to the pioneering immunotherapy vaccine which will cost £30,000.

The former model has already defied the life expectancy estimated by doctors.

Teyana Taylor DENIES Rumors That Her Husband Impregnated Porn Star During Threesome

As quickly as rumors surfaced that Teyana Taylor's husband Iman Shumpert allegedly impregnated a porn star during a threesome, Taylor shut the speculation down.

Teyana, 28, denied the rumor after a fan asked her directly on Twitter, 'is it true the girl you brought home to have a threesome with you and your husband is pregnant, and it’s for that reason that you have deleted you IG?'

'1. I've never seen/touched that girl in my life. 2. My page is gone because I'm upset at @defjam for not dropping my d*mn 'WTP' video on time, per usual,' Taylor said.

'3. It's really sad that lies are entertained so much than the truth. 4. Iman is not dumb he know I'd kill him End of story,' she concluded.

The woman in question, adult film star Alby Rydes, also took to her Instagram story to deny that Shumpert fathered her child.

Rivers APC Case: Supreme Court's Position

The Supreme Court on Monday reserved ruling on whether the appeal filed by the Rotimi Ameachi faction of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress is valid.

The five-man panel, led by Justice Mohammed Datijo,
fixed ruling for a date to be communicated to parties. The Supreme Court had last December adjourned till March 8 for judgement in the suit.

The appeal, marked SC/1070/2018, was lodged before the court by 22 chieftains of the party loyal to Senator Magnus Abe and led by one Abdullahi Umar.

The appellants, through their lawyer, Henry Bello, urged the Supreme Court to reaffirm the ruling it delivered on October 22, which nullified the outcomes of the primary election that produced Tonye Cole and other candidates in the faction loyal to Amaechi.

The apex court reconvened on Monday, about two months earlier than the planned date for delivery of its judgment in the suit.

The sitting was sequel to an application by the appellants requesting the Supreme Court to abridge the time for judgment in line with the provisions of the 4th Alteration of the Electoral Act which stipulates a 60-day time frame for the matter.

Bello submitted that though the court ought to deliver its judgement before January 1, “the court cannot do anything because the matter has become status bar.”

He therefore prayed the court for leave to address it orally on the need for the apex court to deliver a judgment striking out the appeal, adding that the appellants’ motion of December 17, 2018, have been overtaken by the expiration of time.

Cardi B flaunted her taut tummy while clad in little more than a black bra for a bathroom mirror selfie on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The 26-year-old hip-hop star - who boasts 59.8M followers - captioned her clip: 'Hated or love it ya still listen to BARDI even on the low!'

The seven-time Grammy nominee then proceeded to 'wash and detangle all' her voluminous natural locks.

It's hard to believe Cardi (born Belcalis Almánzar) only welcomed her daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus with husband Offset six months ago.

I Regret Not Stealing Before Being Caught – Suspect

One Akeem Azeez shocked many people present in court on Friday during his trial when he openly expressed regrets at his inability to successfully burgle a building before he was caught.

The 20-year-old Azeez was standing trial alongside 24-year-old Omisakin Sunday for an attempt to steal.

The two suspects, who had been convicted for undisclosed crime and served jail terms in the past, were arraigned before Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara on three counts of felony, unlawful entry and forceful removal of burglar-proof bars.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charges. The police prosecutor, Rasak Olayiwola, had earlier told the court that the two men had on January 17, 2019, around 11.30am at No. 23 Ayegun Street, Iludun, Osogbo, conspired among themselves to commit felony in the house of one Alhaji Rasaq Okunade.

The police prosecutor said the suspects were caught before they could execute their plans.

In his ruling, Magistrate Ayilara ordered the accused to be remanded in police custody and adjourned the matter till February 13, 2019, for the presentation of facts.

Immediately the magistrate gave the remand order, one of the accused, Azeez, said to the hearing of many people present in court that he regretted his failure to steal before he was arrested, saying he would be punished despite the fact that he failed to accomplish his aim.

Private School Driver R*pes 4-Year-Old Girl In Osun

A driver with an unnamed private school in Osogbo, Osun State, Oluwatomisin Oyelakin, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a minor.

It was learnt that Oyelakin was a driver in the school being attended by the four-year-old victim and allegedly committed the act after school hours.

On the day the suspect allegedly committed the offence, it was gathered that he dropped off the other pupils in his vehicle at their various homes and he was left with the victim.

Cart Pusher Stabs Colleague To Death During Fight

A cart pusher, simply identified as Mudasiru, is currently on the run after allegedly using a broken bottle to stab his colleague, Umaru, to death during a fight.

The incident happened in the Sabo, Yaba area of Lagos State on January 17, 2019.

Punch Metro gathered that Umaru, who sustained life threatening injuries during the fight, was on his way to the police station to report a case of assault against him, when he fell to the ground.

Mudasiru, who was chasing after him, allegedly pounced on him and stabbed him repeatedly.

A source in the area, Hassan Abubakar, said no one knew Mudasiru’s whereabouts since the incident took place, adding that police officers, while investigating the matter, arrested two people who knew nothing about the fight.

The 25-year-old Abubakar said, “On Thursday, January 17, 2019, a fight broke out between two cart pushers named Mudasiru and Umaru. During the fight, Mudasiru stabbed Umaru in the stomach and ran away immediately after realising the gravity of what he had done. Umaru died due to the injuries he sustained from the fight and up till now, no one knows the wherebouts of Mudasiru.

“Police officers from the Sabo Police Station, who are investigating the case, came to our area in Sabo, Yaba to arrest Barau and Habeebu, who were innocent of the crime. They arrested them because the suspect, who killed Umaru, is from Jos and Habeebu is a nephew of the deceased, while Barau is the leader of the people from Jos in the area. Because they are from the same village in the North does not make them suspects in the case.”

The Seriki (leader) of  northerners in the Sabo area of the state, Isoho Bature, said Umaru died because he lost lots of blood as a result of the stab wounds, adding that it took the intervention of their monarch before the police agreed that Barau and Habeeb should be released.

Bature said, “We had to call our king from the North to talk to the police before they agreed that they would release Barau and Habeeb. They are completely innocent of the crime; the murderer is still on the run and nobody knows what caused the fight between the two cart pushers. But Umaru was on his way to the police station to report the fight when he fell to the ground around the Total filling station, so Mudasiru pounced on him and stabbed him repeatedly.

“He (Umaru) fell to the ground because he had lost  lots of blood, and that was what killed him. The man who stabbed him usually stays with bad people in the Iwaya area and the corpse of the deceased had been taken to the mortuary.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, who confirmed the incident to Punch correspondent, said the command had commenced investigation into the matter and would arrest those involved in the incident that led to Umaru’s death.

Oti said, “What happened was that someone around a filling station alerted the police that a certain young man, whose name is yet unknown, was discovered lying down there. The person said the man was not breathing properly and immediately the attention of the police was drawn to it; operatives of the command from the Sabo Division, who were mobilised to the scene, took him to the hospital, where he unfortunately gave up the ghost.

“When the doctor on duty inspected the body of the deceased, pieces of broken bottle were recovered from the injuries he sustained. Apparently, he was stabbed to death with a broken bottle. Meanwhile, undercover operatives have been deployed to commence investigation into the case to unravel the person or persons involved in the dastardly act.”

End ASUU Strike Now: Buhari Orders Ngige

Worried by the lingering strike embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday directed Labour & Employment Minister Chris Ngige to resolve the dispute between the union and the Federal Government.

Dr. Ngige, who spoke at the resumed negotiation meeting between the government and the union, said the President was concerned about the continued stay at home of students and has directed that the strike be brought to an immediate end.

The minister said: “The President has directed me to pass the night here until all issues that have kept our children away from school are resolved and strike called off.

He has also directed me to impress upon you, the imperative of little sacrifice from all sides, knowing full well that the revenue of the federation has dwindled from what it was before the present administration assumed office.”

The minister further said: “President Buhari is greatly worried about the situation in the university system, hence, his steady and holistic approach to tackling the rot through adequate funding, notwithstanding the dwindling revenue accruals.

“The President told me to assure you of his determination to reposition our universities as he would do everything possible to cast the present challenges in our tertiary education to the dustbin of history.”

Nigerian Footballer Sodje & Brothers Jailed In UK For Fraud

A popular sporting family has been “shamed” for milking a charity set up for poor African children, irishexaminer.com reports.

Ex-footballers Efe Sodje, 46, and Stephen Sodje, 43, and ex-rugby player Bright Sodje, 52, were found guilty and jailed for siphoning off money from their family charity, the Sodje Sports Foundation.

The fraud trial had heard how the Sodjes set up their
charity in 2009 to help provide sporting facilities to youngsters in Nigeria.

Ashley Carson, a businessman and director of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, and one of the city’s MPs, Clive Betts, were recruited to give the charity respectability – but when they asked for bank statements and financial reports, they were fobbed off.

Once the pair resigned as trustees and directors in 2013, “the amount of money being transferred to the Sodje family increased dramatically”, prosecutor Julian Christopher QC said.

Cash raised at black tie dinners, auctions, charity football matches and a clay pigeon shoot went into Sodje bank accounts.

The SSF held a charity football match at Sheffield Wednesday’s grounds in 2009, and arranged a fundraising dinner at Charlton Football Club in September 2010.

In 2011, there was a gala dinner at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester for the SSF and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital – a charity supported by England women’s football coach Phil Neville.

Efe handed out Easter eggs – provided by the hospital – to child cancer patients, while five Sodje brothers attended a £150-a-head black tie dinner.

The event raised almost £11,500, but Mr Christopher said, “Not a penny went to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.”

Sentencing, Judge Michael Topolski QC told the defendants, “You have brought shame upon yourselves and your family.”

He sentenced Stephen, of Bexley, to two years and six months in prison, saying he lied repeatedly to the jury and was a “self-regarding and arrogant man with a strong sense of self-entitlement”.

The court heard he received about £30,000 from the charity funds, but continued to protest his innocence, describing it as expenses or wages.

His lawyer Kieran Galvin said the conviction was “shattering” and a “massive fall from grace” for the defendant, who now worked as a carer and has two young step-daughters.

Father-of-one Efe, who was “the face” of the charity, was given 18 months in jail, having received around £7,500 plus an unknown amount of cash from the clay pigeon shoot.

He collapsed in the dock and staggered away supported on each side by officers.

Bright, of Sale, Greater Manchester, was jailed for 21 months for his part in “milking the charity”.

He had received some £3,000, but also signed cheques to other family members totalling about £18,000.

The judge said, “All three of these defendants in various ways exploited their own and their families’ reputation, not only for the benefit of the poor children of the Niger valley but also for their own benefit.

“In this case, the defendants were all well-known and respected men, particularly in the world of football and sport both here and in Africa.

“One had the honour of playing for his country in the World Cup final.

“I have no doubt to some extent at least it was that form of respect that made it possible or more likely that their fans and admirers would make donations to the charity that had been formed by them in their name.”

He said, “at least £63,000 can be shown to have been received by the fund”, but added it was important to note that it did not include cash donations, and the defendants “went out of their way” to ensure that proper records were not kept.

Any good works done in the past would be “forever tainted by their dishonest and disreputable conduct,” he added.

In separate telephone interviews with The Punch, Bright and Efe insisted they were innocent of the charges.

Bright said, “We are still arguing about the case in court, so I can’t really say much. But I still maintain that we are not guilty as charged. But if they say mismanagement, and we never had any experience in running charity, right now, I cannot say much. When the time comes, I will be happy to come to Nigeria and sit in front of anybody and tell my side of the story.”

Efe said, “As far as I’m concerned we are not guilty. I can’t say much for now.”

Two Men Break Into Redeemed Church, Steal Church Property

Two men were, on Monday, arraigned before the Igbosere High Court for allegedly breaking into the Redeemed Christian Church of God in the Ijegun area of Lagos State and stealing items worth N680,000 at gunpoint.

The defendants, Bright Oriakwu and Babajide Akinola, were arraigned on five counts bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery, burglary and belonging to an unlawful society.

According to the prosecutor, Tunde Sunmonu, the defendants conspired with others still at large to break into the church and stole mixers, amplifiers and four speakers.

Sunmonu added that the defendants also stole from the people in the premises of the church.

The defendants were alleged to have committed the offences between November 27, 2015, and December 29, 2015, at No. 4 Ezimorah Street, off Marwa Road, Ijegun, Satellite Town, Lagos.

“The accused, while armed with a gun, robbed one Mr Chigozie Orgwu of his HP laptop worth N200,000, two mobile phones worth N110,000, a digital external drive worth N100,000, a watch worth N70,000 and a cash sum of N200,000,” Sunmonu said.

He added that the defendants were caught while trying to join an unlawful society, the Eiye Confraternity.

The offences, according to him, contravene sections 42 (a), 297 (a), 311 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The prosecutor, however, urged the court to remand the defendants in police custody and requested an accelerated trial.

Justice Adedayo Akintoye, however, ordered that the duo should be remanded in prison and adjourned the case till March 11 and 12 for trial.
