APC Leaders Will Be Thrown Into Hell If Their Records Are Checked - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that top leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will be thrown into hell fire if their records are examined, based on their actions.

Obasanjo made the remark in an interview with BBC Yoruba.

The former president criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for alleged ethnic considerations in appointments.

He said if the President did not trust people from other ethnic groups enough to give them appointments, he should also not ask for their votes in the coming elections.

Obasanjo said, “If we are talking about sin, the people that are there now, if we examine them, they will all enter hell fire.

“They will not just be jailed, they will enter hell fire. Whoever God covers his sin, the person’s secrets are also protected.

“I did not say if Atiku (Abubakar) gets there he will behave like Jesus or Mohammed, but he will do better than what we are seeing now.

“The person who is our leader now is saying he cannot allow another ethnic group to work with him because he cannot trust them. If he cannot trust my tribe or your tribe, of what benefit is he? And he is saying my tribe and yours should come and vote for him.

“He can ask for our votes, but he cannot trust us to work in good positions. Life is give and take. If you cannot trust me, why should I trust you?

“If you put me in a position and I misbehave, why not remove me and put others?

“But those you are putting in positions are your tribesmen and kinsmen because they are the people you can trust.”

Two Sisters Caught Trying To Smuggle Tramadol, Igbo Into Prison In Abuja

The officers of Kuje Medium Security Prison in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested a female visitor to the prison for attempting to smuggle substances suspected to be cannabis and tramadol into the prison yard.

One Miss Blessing Chinwuba concealed the prohibited items in a carton of neatly packed indomie wraps, probably to beat security.

According to a statement issued by the FCT Prison Command Public Relations Officer, Chukwuedo Humphrey, she was arrested by prison officers at the gate lodge before she could pass the items to one Mr. John Ifeanyichukwu, who is a prisoner in the prison facility.

On investigation, she claimed that the consignment was given to her by one Miss Victoria Chinwuba, her younger sister, to deliver, claiming ignorance of the contents.

Humphrey said although the statement was corroborated by Victoria, the younger sister Chinwuba, equally claimed ignorant of the contents of the carton as she was merely asked to collect the item from a courier service provider.

They have been handed over to NDLEA for investigation and possible prosecution.

The Controller of Prisons, FCT Command, Mr. Sylvester Nwakuche while commending the staff for a job well done, warned that stiffer punishment awaits anyone caught compromising security in and around the prison.

Fayemi Sacks EKSU Vice Chancellor, Other Heads Of State-Owned Institutions

Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti today approved the removal of the Vice- Chancellor (V-C) of the Ekiti State University, (EKSU), Prof. Sam Oye-Bandele. Fayemi performed the function in his capacity as the visitor to the state owned-institution.

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr Yinka Oyebode, stated this in a statement he released to journalists in Ado-Ekiti. Oyebode said the sack was sequel to the consideration and the  adoption of the White Papers on the reports of the Visitation and Fact-Finding Panels by the State Executive Council.

Oyebode said  the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Dr Kolawole Ogundipe, and the Provost of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Prof. Mojisola Oyarekua were also sacked.

Police Arrest 5 Over Abule-Egba Pipeline Explosion

The Lagos State Police Command, says it has arrested five persons suspected to be allegedly responsible for the Abule-Egba pipeline fire explosion, which destroyed more than 100 houses and cars.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Imohimi Edgal, told newsmen on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested after evidence from the fire scene were picked up and analysed.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that there was a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipeline fire explosion on December 18, 2018, where no less than 100 houses and 77 cars were destroyed, but no life was lost.


The Lagos police boss said that one Rasak Oyekunle, who has an electrical workshop close to the spot where the fire started first was arrested and he confessed that he belonged to the gang responsible for the explosion.

Edgal further said that the suspect claimed he situated his workshop closed to the spot they were siphoning NNPC products so as to divert public attention from the illegal operation in the area.

NLC Rejects N27,000 Minimum Wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress has rejected the N27,000 new national minimum wage adopted by the National Council of States on Tuesday.

The NLC Secretary-General, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja.

According to him, the council has no jurisdiction determining another amount after a Tripartite Committee had submitted its report.

“It is abysmal of government to be delaying the submission of an Executive Bill to the National Assembly and by wrongfully adopting N27,000 through the council of states,” he said.


However, Ozo-Eson said the NLC has scheduled an emergency National Executive Council meeting for Friday to weigh on the deadline given to government within which to submit an executive bill to the National Assembly.

Tupac Pornographic Drawing Auctioned Off For $21K

Owning a piece of hip-hop history is priceless. Although the artists we love and revere may be amazing within their fields, it is always amazing to watch them experiment elsewhere.

For example, Eminem's ability to draw is on a professional level, and Diddy was a delight to watch in A Raisin in the Sun.

Tupac also had another creative outlet, opting to use his drawing skills to vent his emotions when music wasn't an option. He had one piece of NSFW artwork that went up for auction recently.

Tupac's NSFW artwork was sold for a nice bag of money. The backstory for the picture is very interesting.


As revealed by Steiner Auctions, the work was done while 'Pac was locked up at Clinton Correctional Facility in 1995 in Dannamora, NY. Addressed to his girl Desiree Smith, the artwork features a handwritten letter.

The picture itself depicts 'Pac having s-x with Smith, and can be viewed here. If you can look past the pure erotic nature of the image, the artwork itself is very impressive. Now, TMZ is reporting that the NSFW picture was sold for $20 grand. Court Remands Man For Stealing Woman’s Underwear

A 23-year-old man, Opeyemi Adeleke, was on Tuesday ordered to be remanded in Ilesa Prison by an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a woman’s underwear (pant).

Mr Adeleke, who pleaded not guilty, is facing a two-count charge of theft and unlawful possession of someone’s property.

The magistrate, Mary Awodele, had ordered the accused to be remanded in prison due to the ”magnitude of the alleged offence”.

The prosecutor, Jafani Mysilimi, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 21, at about 1:00 a.m. at Agunwande area, Osogbo.


Mr Musilimi said the accused, in an unlawful manner, stole the pant belonging to one Gift Sunday and hid it before he was caught.

“It took the tireless effort of the police to retrieve the underwear from the defendant before he was brought to the court,’’ he said.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge while the magistrate adjourned the case till February 12 for ruling.

Chris Brown Detained Over R*pe Accusation In Paris

Chris Brown was detained by police in Paris and accused of aggravated r-pe and drug offenses, a judicial source close to the investigation told NBC News.

The Associated Press, citing two anonymous police officials, said the 29-year-old singer was detained Monday along with his bodyguard and one other person after a woman accused Brown of raping her in a hotel room last week.

Tall And Slim Women Are More Likely To Live Until The Age Of 90, Study Reveals

Women who are tall and slim are more likely to live until the age of 90, scientists have revealed.

However the same does not apply to men, according to the new research. The findings, published online by the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, did also show that physical activity is linked to longer lifespans in both sexes.

But the more time men spend physically active every day, the longer their lifespan, whereas the optimum amount for women was 60 minutes.

Although average life expectancy has risen over the past few decades, it has recently started to plateau in some developed nations.


Increasing levels of obesity and physical inactivity are believed to be behind the trend.

Previous research has looked at the associations between weight (BMI or body mass index), physical activity, and reaching old age, but most studies have combined both sexes, or focused exclusively on men.

Women and men's lifespans differ, which may be influenced by factors such as hormones, genes and lifestyle.

To explore these differences further, the researchers analysed data from the Netherlands Cohort Study (NLCS), which included more than 120,000 men and women aged between 55 and 69 when it began in 1986.

They wanted to see if there were any links between height, weight, leisure time physical activity, and the likelihood of reaching the age of 90, and if there were any differences between men and women.

More than 7,800 men and women, aged between 68 and 70, provided detailed information in 1986 on their current weight, height, weight when aged 20, and their leisure time physical activity.

The details included activities such as gardening, dog walking, DIY, walking or cycling to work, and recreational sports, which were grouped into categories of daily quotas - less than 30 minutes, 30 to 60 minutes, and 90 minutes or more.

Participants were then monitored until death or the age of 90, whichever came first.

The researchers considered potentially influential factors, such as whether the participants were current or former smokers, how much they drank, their educational attainment, and usual energy intake.

Some 433 men,16.7 per cent, and 944 women, 34.4 per cent, survived to the age of 90.

Women who were still alive by this age were, on average taller, had weighed less at the start of the study, and had put on less weight since the age of 20 than those who were shorter and heavier.

What's more, women who were more than 5ft9 in height were 31 per cent more likely to reach 90 than women less than 5ft3.

The research showed no such links were seen among the men.

South Sudan Bans Skin Bleaching Products

South Sudan's Drugs and Food Control Authority (DFCA) has banned importation and sale of all skin lightening products.

Mawien Atem Mawien, secretary general of DFCA, said the ban seeks to protect the people of South Sudan from being exposed to harmful chemicals used in manufacturing skin bleaching cosmetics.

"All the whitening or bleaching creams are prohibited for import without any approval from DFCA, of particular interest are those containing mercury and hydroquinone," Mawien told reporters on Tuesday.


The regulatory body ordered all cosmetic dealers in the country to obtain new import licenses in an effort to regulate their business.

"It is very clear that cosmetics are being used in South Sudan without any discrimination despite the fact that they contain so many chemicals," Mawien said.

"No cosmetics will be brought to the Republic of South Sudan without the approval of DFCA. Anything outside the right channeled will be deemed illegal," he added.

Council Of State Approves N27k As Minimum Wage

National Council of State has pegged the National Minimum wage at N27,000. This amount is for the least paid workers in the states and the private sector.

However, Federal Government workers will take home N30,000 as their minimum wage.  The Council arrived at this decision at its meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige, has just confirmed the development to State House Correspondents in Abuja.
