Atiku Is Two Times Better Than Buhari - Obasanjo Insists

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari has shown “utter incompetence, condones evil and corruption” in the almost four years he has been in power.

The elder statesman issued the fresh criticism of the president in an interview with BBC Pidgin.

Obasanjo said he believes that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will perform “two times better” than Buhari.

He said anyone could steal the whole country and go scot free as long as he belongs to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Atiku is not a messiah; he is not a saint. Fortunately, he has not claimed to be. He has not claimed a fake sanctimoniousness. He came here. He acknowledged his past misdeeds and showed remorse,” Obasanjo said.

“I am a believer and a Christian as such and the teaching of God in my own religion is to forgive so that you can be forgiven. In fact, it goes further that if you do not forgive, you have no right to expect God’s forgiveness.

“I’m a sinner and I want God to forgive me of my sins. So, if anybody who has offended me comes to ask for forgiveness, I must forgive him. That’s number one.

“Number two, the choice that we have for the immediate in Nigerian situation today and the immediate is 2019 is between the candidate of party APC and PDP. The other minor parties will line behind or not sufficiently relevant.

“So, if APC puts down Buhari and PDP puts down Atiku, and from what I know of Buhari and what you know, what he has done and shown is utter incompetence, nepotism, condones evil and misconduct, including corruption.

“The weakness of the body, mind and the totality of Buhari, compared with Atiku, I believe Atiku will perform two times better than Buhari.

“Now, you can steal the whole of Nigeria and if you belong to APC, you are safe. Corruption is not only stealing money; nepotism is a form of corruption.”

In his state of the nation address on Sunday, Obasanjo accused the president of taking the country back to the Sani Abacha era.

On Tuesday, Buhari and Obasanjo met at the council of state meeting, where the former president said the opening prayer, and both men exchanged banters.

Death, Injuries As Notorious Hoodlums Clash With Customs Over Smuggled Rice

Many people, including two officers and other members of the enforcement team of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, were injured in a clash that occurred on Tuesday between the Customs personnel and hoodlums in the Owode Yewa area of Ogun State.

According to eyewitnesses, trouble started on Monday night when the Customs operatives went to raid a place of worship and some houses in the community, which they suspected as being used as stores for smuggled rice.

The team was said to have faced stiff resistance from the hoodlums, which led to the exchange of fire.

In the process, the officers and other members of the team were said to have suffered injuries, while some of their patrol vehicles were destroyed.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, NCS, Abdullahi Maiwada, stated that the Customs personnel withdrew from the scene on Monday night but some people later barricaded the road leading to Idiroko and attacked the team.

Maiwada said the hoodlums battled law enforcement agents to gain access to Customs formations for further confrontation.

In their defence, some youths in the area, who were said to have set up bonfire and blocked the road, on Tuesday, explained that the Customs operatives shot and killed one Kunle after the youths tried to stop them from carrying out a raid on the Celestial Church of Christ in the community.

“They wanted to ransack the house of God, but we stopped them and they started shooting. One of our colleagues, Kunle, was shot dead. We mobilised today (Tuesday) to teach them a lesson,” one of the aggrieved youths told our correspondent.

On Sunday, January 6, 2019, the Ogun State Command of the NCS lost an officer, who sustained machete cuts from suspected smugglers.

According to Maiwada, the January 6 incident paved the way for concerted efforts by the command to inform and educate the public on the menace of smuggling and the implication of conspiring against the service.

SERIOUSLY? More Money Found In CJN Onnoghen's Account

Detectives may have found more “suspicious” funds in Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen’s accounts, The Nation has learnt.

There are also “suspicious” transactions, including an $800,000 Standard Chartered Bank investment subscription, sources said.

Also found is $630,000 lodged in some of the accounts
through what is described as “structured payments” in tranches of $10,000 each.

Most of the lodgments, effected between 2012 and 2016, were undeclared in Justice Onnoghen’s assets declaration form, the sources claimed, pleading not to be named because of the “sensitivity” of the investigation.

The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has restricted the operation of five accounts with about $3million

The accounts in the Standard Chartered Bank are USD No. 870001062650; Euro account No. 93001062686; Pound Sterling A/CNo. 285001062679; e-Saver Savings (Naira) account No. 5001062693; and a Naira A/C No. 0001062667.

Detectives believe that most of the lodgments and transactions are “suspicious”.

The Nation has stumbled on an intelligence report on the CJN’s accounts, which reads in part: “Pattern of structured payments of $10,000.00 each in 2012. For example, a total of $630,000.00 was credited to the accounts using this pattern.

”Similarly structured payments of $10,000.00 amounting to $297,800.00, $50,000.00 and $36,000.00 were deposited in the account in 2013, 2015 and 2016 respectively.

“There was also a credit of $121,116.00 into the account from 2014 to 2016 from Life Friend Plc. The payments were in four installments, of $30,279.00 each. These payments suggest the suspect has investments.

“A payment at $482,966.00 from Alicia Redemption Pro and shortly after, $800,000.00 was invested in SCB Investment subscription. We are in the process of verifying these transactions;

“Other suspicious transactions in the account are credit of $19,764.00 from Pur of Noble and seven (7) payments of $3,250.00, each amounting to $22,750.00 from Lloyds TSB.

On the pound sterling (GBP), the investigative team discovered “a self- transfer of £40,268.40 into the account on May 31 2016.”

“There were also self-deposits by the suspect of £49,760.00 from July 2015 to September, 2016

but the balance as at September 30, 2016 was £108,348.00,” the report added.

Regarding the Naira account, the report said: “The following highlights some of the suspicious activities in the account: A transfer of N41,262.000.00 ($260,000) was made from the dollar account. The money was used to make payment of N41million to Ad hoc Committee on the Sale of Federal Government Houses, suggesting that he bought a property with proceeds of the transfer;

“The only other significant transactions in the accounts are six (6) structured cash payments of N500,000.00 each and one payment of N700,000.00 amounting to N3.7mlllion from November, 2013 to August, 2016.

All the transactions, sources said, are being investigated whether or not they violated the “Revised Code of Conduct for Judicial Officers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria” which was put in place by the National Judicial Council.

It Was Difficult Working With ex-IGP Idris, says Buhari's Minister

The cold working relationship between the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd) and the police ended yesterday as he explained how difficult it was working with the immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris.

Dambazau, who expressed sadness over what transpired during Idris’s tenure, said such should be avoided in the future.

The minister, who spoke in Abuja when the new Acting IGP, Mohammed Adam, paid him a working visit, said: “I congratulate the Acting Inspector General of Police. I appreciate your coming here recognising the significant of the Ministry of Interior following its supervisory mandate of the police and other agencies and also its mandate in internal security and public safety.

“Because we are happy that you took this step because since November 2015 that I came in here as minister, Mr. Solomon Arase, who was the then Inspector General of Police, we had cordial relationship.

“But after Arase left, I think there was perseverance of relationship between the police and the Ministry of Interior. Not completely because most of our dealings in terms of internal security and public safety was with the present DIG Operations because we thought we must do everything possible regardless to ensure that we ensure our mandate in terms of police and also ensure that the police as an institution does not suffer. We are glad today that you came in with different idea to strengthen this relationship.”

The minister added: “Throughout the three years, we have presented more than 25 memorandums to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) that have to do with policies and projects. But none of those 25 memorandums that went to FEC included the police. So, this is the kind of things that we should avoid. You need a parent ministry to represent you at FEC. Except few memorandums that came from the Police Academy. I think we need to work together, particularly with the kind of internal security challenges we are experiencing in this country. We appreciate the idea of community policing. Ours stops at making policies, but for implementation, it is absolutely yours. We will not interfere in that.”

He assured the new police boss of support, adding: “This ministry will give you all the support you need to succeed. We will work hard with you as you have suggested that there are internal security challenges and we will provide for Nigeria the kind of security they deserve.”

On his part, the new police boss acknowledged the fact that there was crisis between the Ministry of Interior and the police.

He promised to change the old ways of operations and embrace peace in order to tackle the country’s internal security.

Buhari, APC Planning To Rig The Election, says Atiku

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar yesterday accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of planning to rig the forthcoming general elections.

The former vice president, who spoke at the PDP Southeast rally in Owerri, the Imo State capital, urged the people to protect their votes by staying back at the polling units after casting their votes.

He added that except such measures were taken, the APC would manipulate the election.

He said: “APC is planning to rig the election. Please protect your votes. We have promised to restructure this country. APC is an evil party. They have turned this country as headquarter of poverty.”

He noted that under the APC, Nigeria has been made poorer.

“We are going to take over the country in the next election. Immediately after your vote, stay there and protect your vote. We want the economy to start growing again. We want you to vote PDP at all levels. Let nobody deceive you.”

Atiku went on to describe the APC as an evil party that wants to sink Nigeria, if not stopped.

PDP vice presidential candidate Peter Obi stated that the Southeast will vote for Atiku.

“He is the one to develop Igboland. He has promised us restructuring. He will revamp the economy of Nigeria. Igbo people will vote Atiku Abubakar,” he said.

Senate President Bukola Saraki said: “We have come here to see that the entire Southeast zone is part of the making of Atiku as the next president. Let me tell you, he has the capacity to make Nigeria united. I know that Nigerians are not happy the way it is now. Believe me, Atiku will solve the whole problems.”

Tinubu Cries Out: Obasanjo Wants To Return To Aso Rock

All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo has no moral right to accuse anybody of rigging.

Obasanjo accused President Buhari of planning to rig the election.

Tinubu, in a statement yesterday, said: “By hook, crook or utter fantasy, Obasanjo seeks to return to Aso Villa, not as an irritating, importuning guest but as a long-term resident. He wants to be back in control. If he cannot be president, then the president better carve from his office a special room for Obasanjo.

“Obasanjo thinks he is more than the greatest Nigerian. He thinks himself greater than Nigeria itself. Unless he is allowed to lead the procession, he will groan, grouse and grit. However, neither President Buhari nor the progressive APC have much use for his reactionary policies and his megalomaniac ways.

“Thus, we shall be forced to endure more of his letters. But enduring such missives is vastly superior and small price to pay for not having to endure a repeat of his unenlightened misgovernance.”

Tinubu, who is the Co-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, said “Yet, the ways of Obasanjo are not those of the APC. And this difference has meant the better for Nigeria,” Tinubu said yesterday in his strongly-worded response in which he described the former president as an election rigger without peer.

He said: “There is no election which occurred under Obasanjo’s watch or in which he participated that did not involve cheating on his part. Even, the late President Umaru Musa Yar‘Adua admitted he was the beneficiary of a flawed election engineered by none other than today’s vociferous complainant.”

The riposte, personally signed by the former Lagos State governor, has its title as: “Chief Obasanjo – At war against his own deeds”.

Tinubu’s statement reads: “Former President Obasanjo is many things to many people; but he is all things unto himself. His recent contribution to our political discourse wherein he alleges plots to steer the coming elections shows he benefits from an exceedingly faulty memory, is purely shameless or has a most wicked sense of humor. Perhaps all three are facets of his makeup and were equally on display in his latest prosaic display.

“The crux of his long tirade was the allegation that INEC is poised to cook the election results. Chief Obasanjo should not get his dander up and waste good ink for nothing. This election will be a free and open exercise of the people’s right to choose their leaders.

“Obasanjo makes fiery allegations against this right but offers no corroborating evidence; he presents only reams of words. This is because Obasanjo is projecting onto the APC the misconduct he would wrought if still in power. Yet, the ways of Obasanjo are not those of the APC. And this difference has meant the better for Nigeria.

“Moreover, Chief Obasanjo should be the last to complain about election rigging. His administration was an unalloyed miscarriage of justice and of the best aspirations of the Nigerian people.

“This man should have positioned himself to be the father of the nation. All the goodwill that could be granted a political figure was bestowed on him. The global economy was such that it fueled our growth.

“Everyone wanted Nigeria to succeed after emerging from years of noxious military rule. Despite the flawed exercise that rendered him president, we all bit our tongues in hope that he would say and do the right things that would move Nigeria forward.

“Instead of being a unifying figure as Commander-in-Chief, he lowered himself to being a divisive, vindictive conniver. There was no table which he neared that he did not upset and overturn. There was no one who came into his company for any period of time with whom he did not fall out if he expresses a thought contrary to one of his.

“He tried to convert our young democracy into a one party state. His PDP boasted that they would rule for 60 uninterrupted years. Never did they boast that they would govern us well during even one year of the sixty. He could have placed the economy on the path to durable growth and shared prosperity through diversification, industrialisation and creation of a social safety net for the poor.

“Instead, he handed the economy over to a tight group of cronies, turning what should be a modern economy into a version of the mammoth trading companies that dominated the 17th and 18th century. The Transcorp conglomerate was intended to be a throwback to monopolistic enterprises, such as the East Indian Company wherein a select handful would control the national economy’s strategic heights.

“We hoped that Obasanjo would personify statesmanship, thus showing the way to a more benign political culture. Instead, he bickered and feuded with his vice president and mostly anyone who dared remind him that he was human and thus infallible.

“Given the vast margin between the good he could have achieved and the nebulous feats that comprise his true record, Chief Obasanjo is the person most responsible for the flaws in the Nigerian political economy since 1999. His ego is as expansive as the firmament but his good deeds would fit into a modest sachet with ample room to spare.

“The worst of Obasanjo’s record, I have yet to describe. When it comes to elections, he has been a rigger without peer. There is no election which occurred under Obasanjo’s watch or in which he participated that did not involve cheating on his part. Even the late President Umaru Musa Yar ‘Adua admitted he was the beneficiary of a flawed election engineered by none other than today’s vociferous complainant. For Obasanjo to lament over electoral malpractice is tantamount to the ocean complaining that a few raindrops are causing it to get wet.

“In his writing, Obasanjo alleges the Osun election indicates rigging will take place in the coming contests. Let’s go straight to the truth, Obasanjo has no grievance with the process. His personal history suggests fair process is the least of his concerns.

“What knocks Obasanjo off kilter is that he could not dictate the result in Osun. He told those in the PDP that he held sway in Osun and throughout the Southwest. They believed him. He led them to defeat, notwithstanding the almost impossible voter turnout in PDP strongholds in that state. Obasanjo can only win an election when he has the final say over the final vote tally. Otherwise, he is a troubled man..."

LOL! Man Steals His Own Car From Abuja Police Station

A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Tuesday discharged one Shehu Adamu, docked for stealing his own car from the police statio, NAN reports.

Adamu, who resides at Utako Village, Abuja, and arraigned on a charge of theft, had pleaded guilty after admitting to committing the offence.

He begged the court for leniency.

“I plead with this court to reduce my punishment for I know I am guilty of all the allegations.’’

The Judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, after listening to Adamu, discharged him and warned him not to commit the crime again.

He ordered him to sign a bond to be of good behaviour.

Maiwada also ordered the police to release the car to the defendant.

The Prosecuting Counsel, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, had told the court that one Ugochukwu Ogbonna, a Mobile Police Officer attached Utako Police Station, reported the matter at the station.

“They were at a checkpoint when the officer stopped the man to search his car and discovered that the man had no driver’s licence, and the car was later taken to the police station.

“The defendant later went to the station and fraudulently took the car without the consent of the police officer that arrested him,” Ukagha said.

N27,000 New Minimum Wage: NLC Reacts

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has rejected the N27,000 new National Minimum Wage adopted by the National Council of States on Tuesday.

Peter Ozo-Eson, NLC General Secretary, stated this on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to him, the council has no jurisdiction determining another amount after a Tripartite Committee has submitted its report.

“It is abysmal of government to be delaying the submission of an Executive Bill to the National Assembly and by wrongfully adopting N27,000 through the council of states,” he said.

Ozo-Eson however told NAN that the NLC has called an emergency National Executive Council meeting for Friday to weigh on the deadline given to government within which to submit an executive bill to the National Assembly.

The NLC general scribe added that the Federal Government was only projecting a shutdown of the economy with its latest action.

“This is because workers should not be held responsible for any development after its NEC meeting on Friday,’’ he said.

Chris Brown To Sue French Model For Defamation Over R*pe Claims

Chris Brown plans to sue a woman for defamation after she accused him of raping her in a Paris hotel.

The American R&B star was released from prison on Tuesday without charge after being held for questioning overnight in Paris following the rape accusations.

The 29-year-old's French lawyer, Raphael Chiche, said Brown vigorously denied the allegations and he is preparing to file the defamation lawsuit on behalf of his client.

'Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him. He vigorously challenges the charges against him,' Chiche said.

'A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the public prosecutor of Paris.'

A 24-year-old French model, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told police that she was r-ped by Brown and two other men during a drug-fueled party at his hotel a week ago.

The ordeal allegedly happened inside Brown's hotel room at the Mandarin Oriental where suites can cost more than US$21,000 (£19,000) per night.

The woman alleges she was attacked by Brown, his bodyguard and a family friend on January 16.

Brown and the two other men were all released from police custody on Tuesday.

An examining magistrate decided to end the initial period of custody without taking the matter further but this does not mean that the case is closed, according to French law.

Prosecutors have indicated that they will continue to speak to the alleged victim and to try and gather more evidence.

The Paris prosecutor's office said the investigation is ongoing, while the singer's lawyer said his client 'energetically' proclaimed his innocence.

In a post on Instagram following his release, Brown denied the accusation saying it is 'false', 'disrespectful' and 'against my character and morals.'

Man To Die For Hacking Neighbour To Death

A Lagos State High Court, sitting at Igbosere, has sentenced a 31-year-old man, Ibrahim Tijani, to death by hanging for hacking his neighbour to death over complaint of fumes from his generating set.

Justice Akintoye sentenced him to death after finding him guilty of murder. Tijani was first arraigned on January 21, 2016, on a one-count charge of murder preferred against him by Lagos State.

The convict, who resided in an uncompleted building with the deceased, at Okun in Ajah area of Lagos, had pleaded not guilty to the charge. Prosecutor, Adeniji Kazeem(SAN), Attorney General of Lagos State, had told the court that Mr. Tijani, 31, killed Bashorun Okan-lawon, 57, with machete at 2:30a.m. on February 8, 2015.

He said the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. During trial, the deceased’s 16-year-old son, Adeola Okanlawon, had told the court that his father was killed with a machete after complaining of smoke coming from Tijani’s electric power generator.

He added that his late father had called the defendant to complain about the smoke that was coming out of his generator set.

According to Adeola, his father had asked the convict to change the position of the generator set to stop the smoke from entering his room, but he refused to do so, leading to a fight, noting “when the defendant was cutting my father with cutlass, I pleaded with him, but he refused to listen.”

Jeff Bezos & His Mistress Look Loved Up During Dinner

Newly released photos show Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez looking loved up during dinner together in Los Angeles last year.

The photos, which were taken on October 30, show Bezos and Sanchez staring intently to each other's eyes and laughing together.

A source said the couple were snapped while dining with a male and female companion at the Capo Restaurant in Santa Monica.

The party of four took a 'discreet corner table' near the kitchen of the pricey Italian restaurant, staying for three hours.

But their table selection was as subtle as Sanchez and Bezos got as they took seats next to each other and reportedly paid little attention to their companions.

'They seemed to be in their own world,' the source told the National Enquirer.

'Bezos and Sanchez barely spoke to their two companions all night.'

The source said Bezos was close to Sanchez 'from the beginning, laughing and joking and whispering to her'.

'She was gazing into his eyes throughout the first part of the evening as they sat next to each other,' they added.

'It did not look like a business dinner, and he barely spoke to the male companion all evening.'

The pair reportedly spent the night gazing into each other's eyes and 'tenderly touched each other'.

They were seen stroking and brushing each other's shoulders and Sanchez even rested her hand on Bezos' knee under the table, the source claimed.

When Sanchez swapped seats with the female companion, who had been sitting across from her, Bezos 'moved his chair to be even closer to Lauren', they added.

'He began whispering in her ear, and she was listening and gazing at him. Then she began whispering in his ear, fully leaning their bodies into each other, with his arm draped over her chair as he was speaking.'

The foursome left the restaurant at 10pm, but the party apparently wasn't over for Bezos and Sanchez.

Sanchez was seen leaving Bezos' Los Angeles mansion at 10am the next morning, according to the source.

The photos were taken three months before Bezos publicly announced he was splitting from wife Mackenzie.

We’ve Not Endorsed Any Presidential Candidate- CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Tuesday denied endorsing any presidential candidate.

It also advised Christians to avoid violence before, during and after the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

The body further urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to be neutral to all political parties without fear or favour.

In a statement in Abuja by its Acting General Secretary, Daramola Joseph, CAN said: “The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has not endorsed and will never endorse any of the candidates eyeing the number one seat or any elective post but asks its members to vote according to the leading of the Holy Spirit and their consciences.

“We have been hearing speculations going the rounds that CAN has endorsed one presidential candidate or the other. Nothing can be farther from the truth.

“CAN is apolitical, non-partisan and impartial but we are for God and His people.

“Our members cut across all political divides and some of them are even contesting for one post or the other including the Presidential.

“So, the idea of endorsing any candidate as favourite does not arise.

“We have not and will not endorse any candidate for any elective office in the country.”

On who the body is backing, it said: “The choice of CAN is any candidate who exhibits godliness, trustworthiness, sincerity of purpose, decency, patriotism, true commitment to national service and who has shown care for the Christian community over the years.

“Christians are called upon to vote credibly and trusted candidates into the various elective positions.

“We must also be discerning about their policy and the understanding of policy details.

APC Leaders Will Be Thrown Into Hell If Their Records Are Checked - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that top leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will be thrown into hell fire if their records are examined, based on their actions.

Obasanjo made the remark in an interview with BBC Yoruba.

The former president criticised President Muhammadu Buhari for alleged ethnic considerations in appointments.

He said if the President did not trust people from other ethnic groups enough to give them appointments, he should also not ask for their votes in the coming elections.

Obasanjo said, “If we are talking about sin, the people that are there now, if we examine them, they will all enter hell fire.

“They will not just be jailed, they will enter hell fire. Whoever God covers his sin, the person’s secrets are also protected.

“I did not say if Atiku (Abubakar) gets there he will behave like Jesus or Mohammed, but he will do better than what we are seeing now.

“The person who is our leader now is saying he cannot allow another ethnic group to work with him because he cannot trust them. If he cannot trust my tribe or your tribe, of what benefit is he? And he is saying my tribe and yours should come and vote for him.

“He can ask for our votes, but he cannot trust us to work in good positions. Life is give and take. If you cannot trust me, why should I trust you?

“If you put me in a position and I misbehave, why not remove me and put others?

“But those you are putting in positions are your tribesmen and kinsmen because they are the people you can trust.”

Two Sisters Caught Trying To Smuggle Tramadol, Igbo Into Prison In Abuja

The officers of Kuje Medium Security Prison in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have arrested a female visitor to the prison for attempting to smuggle substances suspected to be cannabis and tramadol into the prison yard.

One Miss Blessing Chinwuba concealed the prohibited items in a carton of neatly packed indomie wraps, probably to beat security.

According to a statement issued by the FCT Prison Command Public Relations Officer, Chukwuedo Humphrey, she was arrested by prison officers at the gate lodge before she could pass the items to one Mr. John Ifeanyichukwu, who is a prisoner in the prison facility.

On investigation, she claimed that the consignment was given to her by one Miss Victoria Chinwuba, her younger sister, to deliver, claiming ignorance of the contents.

Humphrey said although the statement was corroborated by Victoria, the younger sister Chinwuba, equally claimed ignorant of the contents of the carton as she was merely asked to collect the item from a courier service provider.

They have been handed over to NDLEA for investigation and possible prosecution.

The Controller of Prisons, FCT Command, Mr. Sylvester Nwakuche while commending the staff for a job well done, warned that stiffer punishment awaits anyone caught compromising security in and around the prison.
