I Regret Supporting Oshiomhole As APC Chairman - Okorocha

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, is ruing his support for Adams Oshiomhole to emerge the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Imo West APC senatorial candidate bared his mind yesterday at the Orlu Township Stadium, while flagging off his campaign.

Okorocha said the national chairman, whom he christened “Oshi and Ole”, has shown unreliable character.

“My finishing governor as is not a full-stop. It is a comma because after every comma, a sentence will follow. Those who are afraid of me politically have ganged up to fight me, including the person I supported to become the national chairman. That is why they brought Hope Uzodinma. He is not running for any election, but was only recruited to fight me in my Orlu zone.

“I am also running for the Senate election to attract a lot of things for Orlu people. You have seen what I have done as a governor. When I go to the Senate, there will be a massive difference. Nzeribe, Izunaso and Uzodinma had wasted the position for years, as there is no project they can boast of in Orlu zone. They were only interested in their pockets,” the governor said.

He challenged his rival in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Senator Osita Izunaso, to present what he did when he served the zone for four years.

“Please, ask Osita Izunaso what he has been able to attract to Orlu zone for the four years he spent in the House of Representatives and four years he spent as a senator, not even a bungalow was attracted to Orlu zone. So, he should go and sit down.

“I am very grateful to you all. I have never seen in my life a senatorial rally taking the shape of a national rally. The crowd here is intimidating and has humbled me. What I understand is that you are saying to me Rochas carry go; you are saying to me, go to Abuja.”

So Sad! Three APC Members Killed In Fatal Accident In Lagos

Tragedy struck on Monday in FESTAC Town in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State, as three members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were killed in an auto crash.

It was learnt that the deceased were among the supporters campaigning for the Lagos West Senatorial candidate of the party, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, aka Yayi.

They were said to be in a Sports Utility Vehicle, which was speeding to
catch up with the convoy of the candidate when the accident happened around the Apple Junction.

The police were said to have removed the corpses, while the injured were taken to a council hospital.

An eyewitness said the accident was caused by excessive speeding.

“Yayi was going to campaign somewhere in Amuwo Odofin. There were a lot of supporters, some of who were in commercial vehicles and private cars. The driver of the affected SUV was speeding when he crashed the vehicle. People were prevented from taking photos of the crash,” the eyewitness said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said three men had been confirmed dead, while seven others were seriously injured.

The Media Adviser to the APC candidate, Chief Kayode Odunaro, in a statement, said the serving senator cut short his campaign as a result of the tragedy.

“Senator Adeola prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed at this point in time and the fortitude for their families to bear the irreparable losses.

“Senator Adeola quickly rounded off the day’s campaign after a one minute silence was observed in honour of the departed at the venue of a stakeholders’ meeting.”

Divorce-seeking Wife: My Husband Owes Me N40,000

An estranged wife, Maryam Abubakar, on Monday took her husband, Shamsu Lawal, to a Sharia Court in Magajin Gari area of Kaduna State, asking for divorce.

She expressed her desire for a divorce because her husband did not care for her.

Maryam told the court that her husband abandoned her for six months, with no food, medical attention and shelter. She also told the court that her husband owed her N40,000.

“He sent people to pack all my things out of the house we were living at Pambeguwa; I am now living with my mother in Kaduna,” she said.

She prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and compel her husband to pay her the money he owed her.

The husband, however, denied the allegations, saying he had never left his wife for even a month. He, however, confessed to holding a N40,000 she had asked him to save for her.

The Judge, Musa Sa’ad-Goma, ordered the defendant to refund the N40,000 to his wife.

He also ordered the couple to return to court with their parents on February 13.

APC, PDP Fight Over Presidential Election

As the election day draws closer, allegations are flying all over between the ruling party and the leading opposition party. The Federal Government yesterday accused the opposition of planning to discredit the general elections.

The opposition parties, government claims, have targeted the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Police for attack to prejudge the polls, which will begin in 11 days.

The government said the opposition, led by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had raised a 10-man propaganda delegation to visit some Western capitals, including London, Brussels and Washington, DC.

The PDP launched its allegations, claiming that the APC government and the INEC planned to rig the elections.

The mandate of the opposition team, said the government, is to push the “concocted” line that the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration planned to rig the polls.

It alleged that the opposition had become desperate to seek victory by subterfuge. Besides, the government accused a presidential candidate of having suspicious meetings with some envoys.

Information and Culture Minister Lai Mohammed revealed “the latest intelligence” at the disposal of the government at a briefing attended by many local and international media.

Mohammed said the opposition was doing everything possible, including instigating widespread violence as well as relentless attacks on key institutions, to discredit the forthcoming elections.

He said the opposition was already predicting carnage in the event of the President’s victory.

His words: “With just 12 days to the 2019 election, we have called this press conference to alert Nigerians to the evil machinations of the opposition, which is not campaigning to win the election – because they know they can’t win a free, fair and peaceful election – but are busy planning how to scuttle or discredit it

“Recall that on Monday, January 21, 2019, we alerted the nation, also via a press conference, to the plot by some opposition elements to scuttle the 2019 general elections by instigating widespread violence across the country. Of course, we didn’t just make this up. It was based on credible intelligence.

“We revealed that the plan to scuttle the polls is part of moves to push the nation into a constitutional crisis, with the plotters hoping they can leverage on that to push for an interim government. When we raised the alarm, the opposition dismissed it. Of course, they were shocked to have been found out, so we understand their panic reaction.

“To underscore the seriousness of our alert, a week after our press conference, the National Security Adviser (NSA) met with state governors to also inform them of this same plan to scuttle the polls via widespread violence. As I said at my last press conference, the alarm we raised is based on credible intelligence.

“Today, still based on credible intelligence, we can reveal that the opposition is moving a step further. They are working hard to discredit the forthcoming election before, during and after the polls.

“Specifically, they are sending a delegation to some Western capitals, including London, Brussels and Washington, DC, to push the concocted line that the Buhari administration has perfected the plan to rig the polls. They are therefore pushing for a rejection of the results if the President wins re-election. They are also predicting carnage in the event of the President’s victory.”

Responding to a question, Mohammed said: “There is nowhere there is any insinuation that the Federal Government has lost confidence in the international community. I think, less we are misunderstood, we never say the opposition is hobnobbing with the international community.

“The opposition parties have decided to, instead of facing their campaigns, resort to international blackmail. We have seen a particular presidential candidate having some suspicious meetings with some envoys.

“When we have credible intelligence that the opposition is going to carry out some sinister actions, the best and most effective way is to go public.”

Asked which of the 73 political parties contesting the presidential race is behind this “plot”, the minister said: “There is PDP, CUPP and their allies.”

Mohammed alleged that the opposition had been using a “nebulous” group, the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), to push its agenda.

He described CUPP as nothing more than a reincarnated Association for Better Nigeria (ABN), which was employed to scuttle Nigeria’s widely-acclaimed freest presidential election in 1993.

Said Mohammed: “Already, they have started flying the rigging kite domestically. They have been engaging in incendiary rhetoric and in making outlandish claims, using several fronts, including the nebulous Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) which, by the way, is nothing more than a reincarnated Association for Better Nigeria (ABN). Of course, you all know the role that the ABN played in the failed 1993 political transition process.

“They have targeted, for attack, the two key institutions that are most critical to the success of the election: the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Police. They have used every malleable and malicious personality to make wild allegations against INEC.

“Their strategy is simple: discredit the election even before it is held, and continue during and after the polls with a view to convincing the West – which they believe they have won to their side, using lobbyist-propelled propaganda – that the election is not credible.”

Mohammed attributed the “desperation” of the opposition to the emerging electoral reality that they might lose the presidential poll.

He added: “Some may ask: why would the opposition go to this length? The answer is simple: They know, and are convinced, that they cannot win free, fair, credible and peaceful polls. The handwriting is on the wall for all discerning people to see.

“While President Buhari has received warm and genuine reception and adulation from huge crowds everywhere he has gone to campaign, their candidate has been exposed to apathetic and thinning crowds! Their numbers just don’t add up!”

But he restated the commitment of the President to a free and fair poll.

“On our part, we as an Administration, we are undaunted by their antics, even though we believe it is necessary to expose their evil plans – as we have been doing – to the world. President Muhammadu Buhari has repeatedly stated his commitment to ensuring a free, fair and violence-free election.

“He has no doubt – based on testimonies of change from Nigerians – that the achievements of his Administration, in the three cardinal areas of fighting corruption, revamping the economy and fighting insecurity, will speak for him at the polls. He did not rig his way into office and has no need to rig now that he is in office.

The Minister urged Nigerians and the international community to beware of the antics of the opposition.

“We are, therefore, compelled to alert Nigerians and the global community to the following:

“The desperate opposition is doing everything possible, including instigating widespread violence as well as relentless attacks on key institutions, to discredit the forthcoming election. They know they will lose the election, but they want victory by subterfuge.

“To further their plan, the opposition is dispatching a 10-member delegation to some Western capitals, including London, Brussels and Washington, DC, to sell the idea that the Buhari Administration has perfected the plan to rig the election. They have no empirical basis for the idea they are pushing, beyond relying on exploiting the nation’s ‘fault lines’ of religion, ethnicity and regionalism.

“The opposition is approaching the election with an incredible level of desperation. In this regard, they have activated their own version of the infamous Association for Better Nigeria (ABN), under the guise of CUPP, to engage in unrestrained rabble-rousing and frivolous court cases. Of course, the activities of CUPP in recent times are there for all to see, even though the coalition seems to be a very poor imitation of the original ABN.

“The Buhari Administration is committed to free, fair, credible and peaceful polls. We are glad that local and international observers are already fully mobilized to monitor the election.

“We call on all Nigerians to be vigilant as we begin the final countdown to the election. Eternal vigilance, as the saying goes, is the price of liberty. We must not allow desperate politicians to crash our democracy on the altar of their personal – and sometimes inordinate – ambition!”

In a swift reaction, the spokesman for the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan said: “Each time the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, comes out to make allegations, he does so in a composite way that leaves no one in doubt about the plan they have already made.

“We can demonstrate this with his recent alarm, wherein he claimed that members of the opposition were bringing in people from Niger Republic to cause mayhem in the country.

“And behold, who brought in people from Niger Republic for election campaign in Kano? It’s President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress.

“As far as the PDP is concerned, all we are asking for is a free, fair, credible, clean, clear and transparent election that will be acceptable to majority of Nigerians. That’s all we seek and that’s all we ask for.

“If Alhaji Lai Mohammed and his co-travelers in the APC and the Buhari Presidency have other plans, the PDP is unaware. . . like President Buhari.”

Japanese Government To Hack Own Citizens

The Japanese government is worried about the threat of cybercrime ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. As more and more devices are connected the internet, hackers find increased opportunities to commit cybercrimes.

According to Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, most hacking in 2016 targeted devices connected to the internet other than computers.

These can range from webcams to virtual assistants to smart refrigerators. As long as it needs to be connected to the internet, a device can be a potential security risk.

The ministry has granted the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology permission to start looking for weaknesses in around 200 million IP addresses.

For at least part of this process, NICT will reportedly use default and common passwords to try to hack in to a range of internet capable devices, beginning on Feb. 20.

CNN reported that these tests will focus on 100 common username and password combinations like "admin" and "1234."

Once it finds unsecure devices, the government will reportedly alert internet providers, who will then let the owners of these devices know that they need to increase their security.

3 Sentenced To Death For Killing UNIOSUN Student

The convicts perpetrated the crime on June 26, 2017 around 10pm in the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Zakariyahu, who claimed to be a trainee cleric, his friend, Kareem, and a student of the Open University, Ibrahim, were arrested in connection with the crime.

Under interrogation by the police, they confessed to killing the deceased with a pestle. They also dismembered the victim’s body and roasted his head with the aim of using it for money rituals.

The convicts later buried Shonibare’s remains at the back of a compound belonging to Isiaq Yusuf, the leader of the Jafariya sect, in the Oke-Baale area of Osogbo.

The state had arraigned Zakariyahu, Yusuf, Ibrahim, 40-year-old Isiaq and Abdulkareen Adeoti, 50, for the murder of Shonibare.

In her judgement, Justice Akano said the prosecution proved its case that Zakariyahu, Kareem and Ibrahim caused the death of the deceased.

Akano said Zakariyahu confessed in his statement that he killed the deceased adding that the prosecution, during the trial, was able to prove that the 2nd and 3rd defendants, Kareem and Ibrahim, assisted the 1st defendant in the killing.

She stated that there was no concrete evidence that the fourth accused, Isiaq, the leader of the Jafariya sect, was involved in the killing, and subsequently discharged and acquitted him.

The court, however, observed that Adeoti knew that the convicts had killed the deceased and did not report to the police until the perpetrators were arrested.

Akano sentenced Adeoti to two years in prison.

Cardi B Defends Arrested 21 Savage! 'We Will Take Action', She Says!!

Cardi B has come out to defend 21 Savage asking him to be freed. Early Sunday, the Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist was detained in Atlanta by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials who're claiming he overstayed a temporary visa after migrating to the America in 2005. In one very real scenario, Savage (Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) could be deported to the U.K!

“We will read and educate ourselves on this situation and we will take action,” Cardi writes in a message posted to Instagram, framed with a picture of the "Bank Account" artist, the Black Lives Matter banner and the "Free 21 Savage" slogan.

“21 did not come here illegally and was not caught doing anything illegal or doing any mischief! In fact he have change his whole life around and as ya can see he’s been very positive in his actions and music.”

The Bronx rapper also had some choice words for the “dick breath motherf---ers” who argue that her “Bartier Cardi" collaborator isn’t a Georgia native: "He grew up there, his kids and family live there and BLEW UP there with the support of the community." She wrapped things up by thanking Savage for “being really good friend” to herself and husband Offset, and for “always coming thru when we need you.”

Just hours earlier, Cardi stuffed Tomi Lahren after the Fox Nation host trolled Savage and made light of his arrest. "Don't make me get my leash," Cardi warned.

Pregnant Woman Jailed For Defrauding Dangote Of Millions

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja, on Monday, sentenced one Judith Okonkwo, a pregnant woman and a former employee of one of the new generation banks, to one year in prison for defrauding Dangote Flour Mills of N19m.

The 43-year-old was convicted on charges of stealing brought against her by
the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The EFCC had arraigned Judith alongside three others: Oyebamiji Adewale, Wize Bureau De Change Limited and Maduka Uchenna on six counts bordering on stealing, failure to exercise due diligence and conspiracy.

Justice Taiwo sentenced Judith to one year in prison on three counts of stealing but with an option of N100,000 fine on each count.

The judge found Judith guilty of stealing but discharged and acquitted the other defendants on the grounds that the prosecution failed to prove the allegation of conspiracy against them.

Delivering her judgement, the judge held that the prosecution failed to show evidence linking the 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants to the crime.

“The defendant is hereby sentenced to one year imprisonment on three counts of stealing,” the judge ruled.

The EFCC prosecutor, I. J Banjo, had earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence sometime in June 2012, while working as an accountant in the bank.

Banjo said the former banker carried out the theft by providing the code regulating the account details of Dangote to some hackers.

The prosecutor said the hackers then hacked into the account and transferred the said sum to different bank accounts.

He said, “Judith, Adewale, Uchenna, Wize Bureau De Change and others now at large did steal and fraudulently converted to their own use the sum of N19m belonging to Dangote Flour Mills.

“The suspects stole and fraudulently converted the said sum, which they transferred to one Kehinde Adefowokan’s account number 0004909171 with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

“Dangote Flour Mills received a debit alert and thereafter complained to the bank. Following the complaint, the bank petitioned the EFCC to conduct a thorough investigation. Judith was thereafter arrested alongside other accomplices.”

CJN Onnoghen Trial At CCT: The Updates, The Clash

There was a mild drama at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Monday at the resumed hearing of charges of false asset declaration filed against the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.

It all began when the Defence lawyers led by Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) asked the CCT Chairman, Danladi Umar, to adjourn hearing of the matter since the Attorney General of the Federation had forwarded a petition to the National Judicial Council on the allegations.

Awomolo said since the seven-day ultimatum issued to Onnoghen to reply the petition would lapse on Wednesday (tomorrow), the tribunal should adjourn to allow the NJC to decide on the matter.

The Prosecuting Counsel, Aliyu Umar (SAN), did not object to the request.

But the CCT chairman insisted that the matter must go on. He accused the defence counsel of engaging in delaying tactics.

This angered Awomolo who stood up to protest against the remarks.

He said, “I have been at the bar for 42 years, 25 years as a senior advocate; no judge could accuse me of delaying tactics. I take exemption to that.”

The tribunal chairman shouted back saying, “You can take exemption to that but hearing must continue. Sit down.”

But Awomolo again protested against the order saying as a senior member of the bar, he deserved some respect from the tribunal.

At this point, the prosecutor intervened and pleaded with the tribunal to rule on the request.

The tribunal rose for about 30 minutes and reconvened to give ruling.

Upon resumption, Awomolo apologised on behalf of the defence team for the tension.

He said, “What happened was most unfortunate. On behalf of my colleagues on this part, we apologise.”

The prosecutor also assured the tribunal that “this kind of case won’t repeat itself again.”

Justice William Atedze also apologised on behalf of the tribunal.

“Let us continue to exhibit patience and humility,” he said.

Delivering the tribunal’s ruling, The Punch reports that the CCT chairman conceded to the request for a short adjournment till February 13 for hearing of application.

Umar, however, said Onnoghen’s presence at the next adjourned date was necessary for him to take his plea. He said no application would be taken on his behalf if he failed to come and take his plea.

“The presence of the defendant is important. His presence is necessary; plea must be taken before any application can be considered. That’s the position of the law. I want to see the defendant on that day, plea must be taken before issues of preliminary objection or any application can be considered,” Umar ruled.

Rich Woman Killed By Her Hotel Staff: Lagos Police Arrest One, Hunt For Others

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Vincent Ehizojie for allegedly conspiring with other staff members to kill the owner of the Etashol Hotel and Suites, Abimbola Olusola, and the manager, Tunji Omikunle, in the Ojodu area of the state.

The CCTV footage in the toilet of the hotel revealed the killers of Olusola, who had return from London less than a year ago to oversee the affairs of the hotel, and her manager.

While some workers were reportedly sacked for defrauding the hotel, it was reported that a gang consisting of the sacked workers and some others still in the employ of the hotel allegedly drugged the manager, tied his hands and feet and strangled him.

The conspirators, afterwards, reportedly took the access card to Olusola’s room from the murdered manager, tied her up and strangled the 56-year-old as well.

The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, during a press briefing, on Monday, announced the arrest of Ehizojie, who was said to be one of the five suspects who perpetrated the crime.

Imohimi, who said Ehizojie and two staff members, Henry Lolo and Okechi Ezi, conspired with two contract employees, simply identified as Dubai and Dangote, to rob the London returnee of her hard-earned money, added that they did so with the belief that they had no future in the hotel.

He stated that the suspects laced the food, which was served other staff members, who were not part of their plan, with a sleep-inducing stimulant known as S.K.

Imohimi said, “This deals with a case of carefully planned and executed murder of one Olusola, 56, and Omikunle, 39, by five persons in the employ of the late Olusola.

“The fact of the case was that on Monday, January 25, 2019, around 3am, the Managing Director/CEO of Etashol Hotels and Suites, Olusola, and her Business Manager, Omikunle, were murdered in the said Etashol Hotel and Suites situated in the Ojodu area of the state.

“The plan to rob the deceased businesswoman was hatched by three staff members of the hotel namely: Henry Lolo, Ehizojie and Okechi Ezi, and two contract employees, who were identified by their aliases, Dubai and Dangote.

“According to Ehizojie, a principal suspect, who was arrested in Port Harcourt, where he had gone to take refuge after the heinous act, all the conspirators agreed that they had no future in the company, because they believed that the deceased was miserly. They, therefore, agreed that she must be robbed of her hard-earned local and foreign currencies, being a London returnee.

“In order to have a hitch-free operation, they agreed that Henry Lolo, currently at large, must prepare a fast food called ‘Indomie’, a delicacy loved by all staff members, and laced it with a sleep-inducing stimulant called S. K. to be served to the rest of the workers, who were not part of the conspiracy. Their plan worked as they successfully sent the rest of the workers to early sleep, except the late manager, who was already asleep before he could be served with the meal."

Imohimi stated that the manager, who woke up when the suspects attempted to steal the card to gain access to Olusola’s room, was strangled, adding that the hotelier was also murdered when they gained access to her bedroom.

He said, “However, their attempt to steal the access card to the late CEO’s bedroom from the late manager’s pocket proved abortive as he woke up in the process and began to struggle with them at the reception area; in the ensuing scuffle, the manager was strangled. After strangulating the hotel manager, they searched his pockets but couldn’t find the card, so they went upstairs to the late CEO’s room and forced the door opened.

“They met an obviously shocked woman in the room and bound her hands and legs. By the time they were through, the woman had died. The gang stole her money, N50,000, as well as jewelleries and other personal effects, but couldn’t take them out of the hotel for fear of being challenged by a police team stationed close to the hotel. So, they abandoned the loot in the hotel, which had been recovered as exhibits by the homicide detectives investigating the case.

“Investigation has established a prima facie case of conspiracy and murder against the suspects, Vincent Ehizojie and others still at large, for the murder of Olusola and Omikunle. The CCTV footage available to the police clearly showed the role played by each of the participants in the crime.”

Imohimi added that the suspect so far arrested would be charged to court for murder, while efforts were on to arrest others still at large.

Cryptocurrency Investors To Lose $190m After Exchange Founder Dies

About $190m in cryptocurrency has been locked away in a online black hole after the founder of a currency exchange died, apparently taking his encrypted access to their money with him.

Investors in QuadrigaCX, Canada’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, were unable to access their funds after its founder, Gerald Cotten, died last year.

According to a court filing first reported by CoinDesk, a cryptocurrency news and events company, Jennifer Robertson, identified as Cotten’s widow, said the exchange owes its customers roughly C$250m (US$190m) in cash and cryptocurrency held in its “cold storage”.

“Quadriga’s inventory of cryptocurrency has become unavailable and some of it may be lost,” Robertson wrote in the filing.

Cotten, 30, died in India last December from complications from Crohn’s disease, according to the company. He was in India “opening an orphanage to provide a home and safe refuge for children in need”.

The news followed a decision by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) to freeze $28m of assets held by Quadriga after saying it was unable to identify the real owners of the funds.

Robertson was not involved in the business. In the filing she noted that there had been a “significant amount of commentary on Reddit and other web based platforms about Quadriga, Gerry’s death (including whether he is really dead) and missing coins”. She said she had also received threats and slanderous comments.

Robertson has access to Cotten’s laptop but writes that she is unable to open it. “The laptop computer from which Gerry carried out the companies’ business is encrypted and I do not know the password or recovery key. Despite repeated and diligent searches, I have not been able to find them written down anywhere.”

Robertson has retained an expert to try to access the funds but he has so far not been able to do so.

The platform continued to accept funds after Cotten’s death but was paused by directors on 26 January.

On 31 January, QuadrigaCX filed an application for creditor protection with the supreme court of Nova Scotia, after months of transaction delays.

At a court hearing on 5 February the company is seeking to appoint Ernst & Young as an independent monitor.

During the visit, Clinton will meet President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Diplomatic sources said Clinton is expected to return to his country the same day.

Photo: Islamic Cleric, Three Others Arrested With Human Skull In Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested an Islamic cleric, Jamiu Olasheu, 35, and three others for being in unlawfull possession of a human skull.

It was gathered that a police patrol team from the Agbara Division, which was on routine crime prevention patrol of the area, accosted two men on a motorcycle at the Kofedoti area of Agbara.

When the men, Teslim Ayeniromo, 45, and Sunday Kolade, 35, were searched, a human skull was discovered in a sack found with them.

Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the duo were promptly arrested and taken to the Agbara Divisional headquarters, where the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Adegbite Omotayo, personally interrogated them.

Oyeyemi said upon interrogation, the suspects claimed that the human skull was given to them by one Michael Osanyinbi, 51, for onward delivery to the Islamic cleric.

The suspects led the DPO to the house of the man, who reportedly gave them the skull, and he, in turn, led the police to the cleric.

Oyeyemi added, “The cleric has made a confessional statement that he actually requested the skull, which Michael Osanyinbi promised to get for him at the rate of N25,000 plus N1,000 for the motorcyclist, who would deliver it to him. He stated further that the skull was needed for a yet-to-be disclosed ritual.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliaysu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation and prosecution.”

Gbese! Delivery Driver Crashes Into FOUR Ferraris After Falling Asleep At Wheel [Photos]

A young motorist is facing an enormous repair bill after crashing into four parked supercars while working as a delivery driver.

The 20-year-old allegedly fell asleep at the wheel while delivering joss paper for his single mum's business, causing over £500,000 worth of damage.

Known as Lin, the poverty-stricken driver claimed he was too tired to be behind the wheel, and that a lapse in concentration caused him to crash into the vehicles worth a combined £1.3milllion.

Footage of the accident in New Taipei City, North Taiwan showed the supercars parked by the roadside when Lin's Mitsubishi 4x4 crashed into them while coming around a bend.

Colliding with three Ferrari 488s and a Ferrari F12, the people carrier caused an estimated repair bill of £520,000.

But New Taipei's Department of Social Welfare has already gathered some 830 donations, totalling £135,000, to assist with covering the cost of the damage.

Members of the public came out in support of the dutiful young man after his family's dire financial situation was revealed in media reports.

It's unclear whether the driver would have any insurance cover.

Lin's mum had raised him and his two siblings ever since their dad passed away five years ago.

Lin had promised to pay what he could, vowing to "take responsibility" for his actions despite the potentially crippling costs. Sigh!
