The prime suspect in a case where a lady was seen n-de in a viral video and pepper later inserted into her vagina has been arrested. According to a lawyer, Jefferson Uwoghiren who has been following the case from day one, the suspect was arrested yesterday evening.
According to reports, the lady and a man were said to have gone into a hotel to have a nice time, shortly after the affair, the man declared his phone was missing. The lady was searched and nothing was found on her. He then took her to a supposed native doctor who said she actually stole it. She denied this. The ‘doctor’ and others around then decided to strip her naked, inserted pepper into her private part and even r-ped her, Mr Jefferson claims.
Below is the update he gave last night on the very very sad incidence. God bless the police, God bless Mr Jefferson… justice on the way! YES!!
The middle aged man that mobilized thugs and street animals to rape and sexually molest a young girl in a trending video has been arrested. He was arrested this evening, along with the manager of a hotel he lodged briefly.
His arrest this evening, opened the lid on the motive and participants involved in the sordid attack. The suspect was temporarily and amorously linked with the victim and subsequently complained of a missing phone. He collared the victim to a native “doctor”, around Ugbiyokho area of Ekehuan Road, Benin City, to determine the culpability of the victim.
As customary with these fake and useless native “ doctors “, the victim was instantaneously pronounced guilty and asked to produce the missing phone. Victim’s denial and protest fell on deaf ears. The suspect, native “ doctor” and apprentice native “ doctors” pounced on the victim , beat her up, striped her naked, and procured granulated chilly pepper, popularly called “ Akpoko” in local language and inserted it into the victim’s private, all dramatically caught on video.
A massive manhunt is on for the fake and useless native “ doctor” and his apprentices .

Ferdinand Orbih, counsel to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the political matter involving PDP, the ruling party, APC, and the electoral commission, INEC in Rivers State, says he has withdrawn his legal services to the party.
Mr Orbih, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, announced his withdrawal on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, during the Court of Appeal sitting.
He said his withdrawal from the political matter was personal and on “compassionate grounds”.
The counsel had on February 5 argued that the court should not entertain APC’s appeal against the judgment of Justice Kolawole Omotosho of the Federal High Court Judgment of January 7, barring APC from presenting candidates for the general elections.
Mr Orbih had argued that APC brought the lower court record of proceeding directly, instead of through the court registrar.
He said his withdrawal did not affect the applications he had filed before the court.
“My name is on the applications,” he said, highlighting that it was the withdrawal of appearance and not (the) withdrawal of any application.
“If there is the need to contribute, I will. I am not a frivolous person,” he said.
Prince Azunda and Mustapha Ibrahim, counsel to APC, argued that there should be “consequence for the withdrawal”.
They contended that Mr Orbih’s withdrawal amounted to a defeat of his applications.
“There must be a consequence of his withdrawal,” they said.
Ruling on the issue of withdrawal, Justice Ali Gumail, the lead judge, said it was the SAN’s constitutional right. ‘‘There is no urgency in this matter,” he said.
The court adjourned until February 13, for pending motions to enable PDP to get a replacement for Mr Orbih.
The SAN told reporters outside the courtroom that there was “no” undercurrent in his withdrawal, adding that he had his “professional philosophy.”

Days after the Marathon, the young boy was invited to the state house, Alausa-Ikeja where Governor Ambode and his wife present him with a one year free education scholarship while Dbanj alongside the CEO of DKM media, Damian Ifeanyi Okoroafor offered him a deal with CREAM Platform to nurture and develop his talent in music education and entertainment.

Nigeria’s Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, on Tuesday alleged that the Olusegun Obasanjo administration ‘protected’ those who murdered Nigeria’s former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Bola Ige.
Mr Soyinka, playwright and social critic, made this known in a statement on Tuesday titled “Trivialise Corruption, Neutralise Justice”, issued in his capacity as convener of Citizen Forum.
The statement comes against the background of the crisis rocking the judiciary following the controversial suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, over his failure to declare his assets.
Mr Soyinka, who said impunity reigns where there is no justice, explained that the present crisis in the judiciary shows that the nation and its leaders did not learn from the murder of the late Mr Ige and “the manner investigations into his death were handled”.
Mr Ige served first as Minister of Power and later as Minister of Justice under
Mr Obasanjo, who governed Nigeria between 1999 and 2007.
He was murdered in December 2002 in his home in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital.
Mr Soyinka Mr Obasanjo’s government knew the killers of the late minister and politician and indeed allegedly protected and rewarded them.
“The government at the time of Ige’s killers know the truth. That government protected – I repeat – protected, and rewarded his killers. Those who wish to dispute this had better first immerse themselves in the circumstances of that murder, and the unconstitutional, indeed illegal trajectory of the principal accused, one that not only facilitated his unconstitutional participation in the ensuing election but catapulted him straight to the occupancy of the seat that had been kept warm for him during his trial and absence,” Mr Soyinka said.
“On release, he was ushered straight into the slot of Chairman of the Appropriation Committee of the House of Representatives. That was not all. The head of that government, General Olusegun Obasanjo, proceeded to burnish Ige’s memory with characteristic zeal.”
Men of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested one Longbab Bouguen for allegedly raping a prophetess (name withheld) at the Agbogbo area of Akure.
The suspect, who was apprehended along with an alleged accomplice, Daniel John, was also said to have forcefully collected money from the victim after raping her.
Speaking on the arrest on Wednesday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, explained that the victim was returning home around 8.30pm on the fateful day when she was attacked and dragged into the bush by Bouguen, who forcibly had knowledge of her.
Joseph said, “One prophetess of the Celestial Church of Christ located in the Agbogbo area, along the Akure/Owo Expressway, reported that a security guard, Longbab Bouguen, suddenly dragged her to a secluded area and forcefully tore her pants in order to have sexual intercourse with her.
“The suspect threatened the victim by brandishing a cutlass and knife, while putting on dark eye glasses and also dispossessed her of the sum of N700, which he consequently shared with a fellow security guard, Daniel John.”
The prophetess told a Punch correspondent that the suspect attacked her in the evening while she was going to the church.
The victim narrated, “I discovered that he was following me when I was going to the church and suddenly he grabbed me from the back and dragged me to one corner; I struggled with him but he overpowered me and showed me a knife, threatening to kill me if I shouted.
“I didn’t want him to stab me, because there was nobody around to rescue me. As he was struggling with me, he tore my clothes and my pants; I didn’t allow him to penetrate so he ejaculated on my body. Thereafter, he collected the money on me before allowing me to go.”
Confessing to the crime, the 39-year-old Bouguen attributed his action to the devil, adding that he could not explain what came over him.
“Though I attacked her and tore her clothes and pants, I had not penetrated her before I ejaculated on her body. I allowed the woman to go after collecting the sum of N700 on her,” Bouguen confessed.
He, however, said John was not involved in the act, explaining that he only gave him a part of the money he collected from the victim.
“When he (John) came to me begging for money for food, I gave him N200 out of the money I collected from the woman, because he was hungry. He knew nothing about the act,” the suspect explained.
The PPRO said Bouguen would soon be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

Liam Payne reportedly slept with Love Island winner Amber Davies shortly before embarking on a new romance with celebrated supermodel Naomi Campbell.
The One Direction star, 25, is rumoured to be dating Campbell, who at 48 is 23-years his senior, after celebrating New Year with the fashion icon in Ghana.
However he allegedly bedded Amber, 22, just weeks before flying to the West African country, following a chance encounter with the brunette at London nightclub Libertine.
A source told The Sun: 'Amber’s very much Liam’s type. She was very excited to meet him some years ago at the Radio 1 Teen Awards.
'Her dreams came true when they went home together after partying at a nightclub in London. There was a real physical attraction between them.'
The publication claims their fling began in October, just four months after Liam confirmed his split with pop star Cheryl, the mother of his 23-month old son Bear.
The pair 'went on to enjoy a series of dates' before the Strip That Down singer's first meeting with Campbell in December, with sources claiming they continue to contact one another via text messages.
'They were determined nobody should find out, due to his break-up with Cheryl and this new thing with Naomi,' the source added.
In a curious twist, Amber's ex-boyfriend Kem Cetinay previously claimed Liam was am unlikely tower of strength after he ended his relationship with the Welsh dancer in December 2017.
Award-winning actress Uche Jombo has disclosed she was a victim of s-xual assault during her early days in the movie industry.
She made this known during an interview with HipTV while speaking on the widespread allegations of s-xual assault of upcoming actresses. She said;
“I’ve been in that kind of situation twice during my starting days. “I rehearsed for almost two weeks only to come next and find that someone else was reading my role because I declined the request to ‘see me’. I wept seriously, I was hurt but four to five years later, I made it big.”
Explaining how she survived and maintained her stance at the time, Jombo said,
“It is personal integrity. In my days, we move on when we’re denied opportunities for refusing to give in to s-xual demands.
Sometimes, it’s your individual strength, drive and process that matters. What takes some six months to accomplish might take others six years. Are you ready to wait for your time or you just want a shortcut that leads to no long-lasting opportunity? If you want the shortcut, chances are that there are people willing to give it.”
A BRT vehicle belonging to Primero Transport Services Limited knocked down 18-year-old Adanne Isaac and killed her on January 27, 2019.
It was gathered that Adanne, who had gone to grind pepper somewhere around the Irawo bus stop, was on her way home to change her clothes that were stained by pepper when one of the BRT buses plying the route knocked her down as she attempted to cross the dedicated BRT lane.
Adanne’s lover, Daniel Ondor, who said he spoke to the deceased earlier that day, added that he fainted when he got to the scene of the accident and realised that Adanne was dead.
It was learnt that the driver of the bus fled the scene of the accident when some angry people, who were pained by the loss of life, descended on the bus and attempted to set it ablaze.
The Benue State indigene stated, “I was home when she called me that she wanted to follow her aunt to the church. When they came back from the church, she informed me that she needed to cook for her aunt. So, she went to grind the pepper and in the process, the pepper poured on her clothes and that was what made her to decide to go back home to change her clothes.
“She was on her way home for the change of clothes when the BRT bus knocked her down as she attempted to cross the road.
“Immediately the accident happened, the driver abandoned the bus and ran away. People around the accident scene took her phone, found my number stored on it as ‘My Love’ and called to inform me to come to the scene to identify her body. And when I got there and found out that the corpse was that of my girlfriend, I fainted.
“What I saw was very bad; the bus had tore her into pieces and till date, I am still in shock. I really sympathise with her family and Ì have been with them until they will take her remains to the village.”
An eyewitness, Joshua Ajagbe, said the incident caused gridlock on the road, adding that residents of the area and passerby, who were annoyed by the accident, took advantage of the situation to attack BRT buses.
The deceased’s stepbrother, Martins, said the management of Primero Transport Services Limited had contacted the family, offered assistance for the burial arrangements of the victim and promised insurance compensation after the burial.
Martins stated, “Somebody at the scene of the accident informed us that a girl was knocked down by a BRT bus. When they mentioned her name as Addane Isaac, I immediately told them that she was my stepsister. The following day, my younger brother and I went to the scene of the accident and we were directed to the police station in charge of the case.
“When we got there, the police called the management of the BRT firm and the representatives came. They promised that in line with the company’s policy, they were going to assist us to take her corpse home. So, they gave us N200,000 for the burial arrangements and also promised to compensate us from the insurance cover after the burial.
“We have informed our parents and our plan is to take her remains to our village in Ebonyi State. I feel very bad; her death was very painful; she was 18 years old and just finished her secondary school education.”
The Chief Security Officer, Primero Transport Services Limited, Cletus Okodolor, while commiserating with the family of the deceased, said the driver accidentally knocked down Adanne, who had crossed the BRT corridor without looking properly.
Okodolor said, “What happened on that fateful day was that the girl was trying to cross the BRT lane but didn’t look properly; the bus driver said he never anticipated it. So, as he was driving, the girl suddenly entered the lane and it was too late to avoid her, because of the proximity of the bus to the deceased. That was how he knocked down the lady; he even climbed over her to tell you the distance between the victim and the bus... Later that day, we took the driver of the bus to the station to follow the due process. He gave his statement and remained at the station, while we looked for the family of the deceased.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, who confirmed the accident to The Punch, said the command had commenced investigation into the matter.
The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) has replied Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, over a threat he issued to foreigners on the forthcoming elections. He had said foreigners who intervene in the election would leave in “body bags”.
Responding through a statement on Wednesday evening, EU EOM said its observers would not be deterred from doing their work. It said it had been involved in all Nigerian elections since 1999 and this year will not be an exception.
“We are aware of the comments by the Governor of Kaduna
about non-interference by foreigners during a talk show on the elections Tuesday 5 February,” the statement read. The EU only deploys an election observation mission when it is invited to do so by the authorities of a country. The EU has been invited to observe all of the general elections in Nigeria since 1999. Thus this is the sixth time the EU is observing elections in Nigeria.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission invited the EU to deploy an observation mission for the 2019 general elections.
“EU election observation missions give commentary and analysis and make recommendations about the electoral process. EU election observation missions are impartial, do not interfere in the electoral process, and operate according to a strict code of conduct.”
The EU said its observers will continue to do their work -in the run up to, and after the elections -while their security remains under constant review.
“While the security of EU observers is of paramount importance, and will remain under constant review, EU observers will continue their work across the country in the run-up to – and beyond – the 16 February elections,” the statement read.
“For the last month the mission’s team in Abuja, as well as 40 long-term observers across the country, have followed the elections.
“We have met with a wide range of candidates, parties, election officials, security agencies, and civil society organizations, and have enjoyed good cooperation at federal and state levels.
“The mission looks at all aspects of the election, including the campaign tone, the transparency of the election administration, the neutrality of security forces, and the independence of the judiciary.”
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said he is on a rescue mission to save the nation from further sinking under the watch of President Buhari and the APC.
Speaking in Damaturu, Yobe State, on Wednesday during the PDP presidential campaign, the former vice president berated the ruling party for dragging the nation backward since it was voted in 2015. He added that the APC is a failure.
The PDP presidential candidate, who was hailed by a mammoth crowd of party’s supporters, lamented that the APC had misgoverned the country by making promises which were not fulfilled.
He said, “In 2015, the APC promised us security which they failed to provide. They promised us food on our table, but today, we are hungry. They promised us good health care and adequate supply of drugs in our hospitals which they failed to do.”
He declared, “The PDP has come to rescue the people of the country from the suffering which the APC has put us into.”
Also speaking at the rally, the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, urged Nigerians to vote for the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in order to rescue the nation from hunger.
He said, “The nation is currently suffering from hunger and insecurity. There is a need for a competent and well experienced Nigerian to come on board to save us. As we are all aware, Nigeria is in distress and we are in dire need of a well-connected leader to rescue us.”
In his address, Engr Buba Galadima who is the Director General of Atiku Campaign Organisation, urged youths and women to vote President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC out of power in the general elections.
In Maiduguri, Borno State, Atiku warned security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission to shun partisanship during the presidential poll and face their duty with patriotic zeal.
He said the ruling APC government was planning, by recent posting of state commissioners of police, to rig the election but he warned that security agencies and INEC should not allow themselves to be used.
He promised that if he was elected, he would restore peace back to the Northeast and Nigeria in general.
Justice Olabisi Akinlade of the Lagos State High Court, on Wednesday, sentenced the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Boundary/Ayetoro unit in Lagos, Saheed Arogundade, to death by hanging for killing a police officer.
Justice Akinlade convicted Arogundade after finding him guilty of conspiracy and murder of the officer, Gbenga Oladipupo.
Saheed was charged alongside five others on two counts of conspiracy and murder.
The other defendants were Mustapha Layeni, Adebayo Abdullahi, Seyi Pabiekun, Sikiru Rufai and Yusuf Arogundade.
The Punch learnt that the deceased was killed on April 10, 2010, around 8am at the Gbara junction in the Ayetoro area of Ajegunle, Lagos.
It was gathered that the deceased was stabbed to death by Saheed and his cohorts while on his way to visit his mother on Olayinka Street in the Ayetoro area.
Our correspondent learnt that the convict and his accomplices killed the deceased for encouraging the operation of tricycles in the area, which the convict noted would reduce the income of the NURTW unit.
During trial, the second prosecution witness, Ismaila Lukman, who was the motorcycle rider conveying Oladipupo at the time of the murder, gave a vivid account of the incident before the court.
He had said, “The deceased had called me for a ride to his mother’s house when four men approached us and dragged him down.
“One of them, Saheed, brought out a knife and stabbed him in the back. I ran off to seek help from other motorcyclists, but when I returned, I saw the other three men hitting the deceased with their fists.
“I couldn’t see the faces of the other men clearly because I was gazing at Saheed, who stabbed the victim. When I got close to the deceased, I realised that he had been badly stabbed all over his body and was bleeding profusely.”
In the three-hour judgement delivered by the judge, she held that the prosecution was not able to prove its case against the other defendants.
She further held that the evidence of the sixth prosecution witness, one Adewale Akinola, could not be used to convict the second to the sixth defendants.
Justice Akinlade said, “The PW6 was not directly at the scene of crime but was standing in front of his house and the object that he described as being used by the assailants on the deceased was different from the weapon described by the pathologist.
“The PW6 claimed that it was a machete used in stabbing the deceased; so, I hereby rule that the PW6 is not a reliable witness. The only evidence the court will rely on is that of the PW2, whose evidence was cogent and convincing.
“The evidence of the PW6 is not sufficient to convict the defendants; the court believes he was not being truthful. The police did not conduct a serious investigation to determine if the fifth and sixth defendants were at the scene of the crime.
“I hereby acquit and discharge the second to the sixth defendants in respect of the charges.”
While convicting Saheed, Justice Akinlade held that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that he killed the officer.
Four days after the Appeal Court’s judgment, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday insisted that Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) has no candidates for the forthcoming general elections.
This is as the commission announced that both sensitive and non-sensitive materials for the elections have been dispatched to states in readiness for the polls.
INEC has fixed February 16 for the presidential and National Assembly polls. March 2 has been slated for the governorship, state Assembly and council elections.
An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt, presided over by Justice Ali Gumel, granted a stay on Justice Kolawole Omotoso’s judgment on the fielding of candidates by APC in Rivers State.
Thus, the party expected the commission to restore the names of its candidates removed as a result of the internal crisis within the party.
But, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education and Publicity Festus Okoye said the commission had taken a position.
Okoye, who spoke yesterday in Abuja at an interactive meeting with reporters revealed that the position of the commission has not changed in respect of Rivers State APC candidates for the National Assembly and governorship elections.
He said: “We have taken a decision relating to the issue of Rivers and if anything changes before we take our final decision, the commission will meet and also take a decision. But we have not taken any other decision and we have not repealed our position on the issue of Rivers.”
As usual, Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has stirred the hornet’s nest, with his threat that foreigners should not interfere in the conduct of the general elections, otherwise they will return to their country dead in "body bags".
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday threatened to pull out of the peace accord it signed with other parties before the National Peace Committee (NPC) chaired by former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.
The opposition party hinged its decision on the “death threats” issued by the governor, according to it, to officials of the United States (U.S.), United Kingdom (U.K.) and the European Union (E.U.).
But the Presidency dismissed it all as a storm in a tea cup. “There is nothing more to sneeze at”, it said.
Speaking on an NTA live programme El-Rufai was reported to have threatened the foreign nationals who might interfere with Nigeria’s upcoming elections with violent attacks.
“Those that are calling for anyone to come and intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that would come and intervene, they would go back in body bags,” he said.
The governor, however, defended himself yesterday, insisting that his comments were not in any way calls for violence, but a defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty.
El-Rufai said he merely stood up for Nigeria’s dignity as against those who would traduce their country and reduce it to a colony in their vain quest for power.
But a pro-Buhari group, the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO), said neither the PDP nor its presidential candidate, was genuinely committed to any peace deal.
According to the BMO, PDP’s presidential candidate signed the peace accord reluctantly.
On their part, the PDP party called on the international community to immediately impose a travel ban on El-Rufai for what it described as the inciting comments against peaceful elections.
Ologbodiyan also called on the Gen. Abdulsalami to summon El-Rufai on the threat.
He said: “The PDP holds that any situation that seeks to allow the APC to abuse the tenets of the accord will definitely force our party to review our signatory to the peace process.
“We therefore call on the NPC to immediately summon El-Rufai on his inflammatory remarks against peaceful election in our country.
“In that regard, we might have no option left than to allow our members to defend their votes with whatever that is available to them. This country belongs to all of us and no individual or group, no matter how highly placed, can subjugate other citizens, or seek to appropriate any sort of absolutism to himself.”
The party called on the National Peace Committee to note the alleged infractions by the APC and its leaders to the peace accord.
A body has been recovered from the wreckage of a plane which crashed into the English Channel with Cardiff City striker Emiliano Sala on board.
The plane flying from Nantes, France to Cardiff on January 21 went missing with the new £15million signing Sala and pilot David Ibbotson, 59, inside.
It remains unclear whether the body is that of the Argentine forward or Mr Ibbotson but a full examination by a coroner in Portland, Dorset, is due to take place.
Remotely operated Vehicles (ROVs) were used in 'challenging conditions' to pull the body out of the water 'in as dignified a way as possible', the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said on Wednesday night.
The Piper Malibu aircraft remains more than 200 feet below water and is 21 miles off the coast of Guernsey in the English Channel as poor weather conditions stopped efforts to recover it.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said: 'Following extensive visual examination of the accident site using the remotely operated vehicle (ROV), it was decided to attempt recovery operations.
'In challenging conditions, the AAIB and its specialist contractors successfully recovered the body previously seen amidst the wreckage. The operation was carried out in as dignified a way as possible and the families were kept informed of progress.'
