Abubakar Shettima, a resident of Duala in Dogon Dutse, Jos North local government area of Plateau state has relocated to his polling unit at Dogon Agogo where he is already queuing up ahead of Saturday’s Presidential election.

Shettima, aged 59, said he wants to be the first person to cast his vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, as a payback for his freedom after he was falsely accused of being a member of Boko Haram in 2015.

Having left his home on Wednesday morning, Shettima said he has already spent a night at his polling unit and would spend the next 48hours at the same spot to exercise his franchise.

Suspended CJN Walter Onnoghen Pleads Not Guilty To Charges Of False Asset Declaration

The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, has pleaded not guilty to charges of false asset declaration brought against him by the Nigerian government.

The CJN is facing six charges for the alleged offence.

Mr Onnoghen, who was brought before the tribunal on January 14, is accused of failing to declare bank accounts used for the transfer of foreign currencies after his appointment as CJN.

After taking his pleas, Mr Onnoghen’s lawyer, Chris Uche, asked for the bail of his client.

The request was immediately granted by the tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, without hearing from the prosecution.

An application for an adjournment was made by the defence counsel, and was not objected by the prosecution.

Mr Onnoghen had arrived the CCT at about 10.00 a.m. this morning, two days after the tribunal ordered his arrest.

The justice had boycotted earlier hearings, as he contested the powers of the tribunal to hear the case of alleged asset falsification against him.

On Friday, Mr Onnoghen arrived the tribunal in the Jabi district of Abuja at about 10.00 a.m. amidst heavy security.

His convoy of Toyota Land Cruisers parked outside the tribunal hall for several minutes before Mr Onnoghen walked into the court room flanked by aides and security.

Mr Onnoghen was suspended by President Muhammad Buhari after charges were filed against him at the CCT.

More Trouble For Amber Rose’s Ex, 21 Savage

21 Savage is facing a felony warrant, just days after he was released from ICE custody.

TMZ learnt in 2016, 21 was booked to play a club gig in Southern Georgia. They are told 21 got a $9,500 advance from the promoter and got the $7,500 balance when he showed up at the club.

For some reason, 21 bailed without taking the stage, but still left with the money. In all, the promoter claimed she was out $17,000.

The promoter went to cops in October 2016, filed a police report and then filed paperwork to get a felony warrant for theft by deception. The warrant was issued, but sat for more than 2 years.

Their sources say, after 21 was picked up by ICE on Super Bowl Sunday, the club owner decided to pursue the criminal case. The promoter called the sheriff's office to pick 21 up on the warrant.

They are told 21 plans on going to the sheriff's dept. in the next day or so in an attempt to clear up the matter.

21's lawyer, Abby Taylor, tells TMZ, "Mr. Joseph has committed no criminal offense. We look forward to an amicable resolution between the parties in the near future with no criminal implications whatsoever."

It's obviously critical that the case is dropped, because a felony could torpedo 21's chances to stay in the U.S.

See The Flash Point States Where Buhari, Atiku's Battle Will Be Tough

Felix Nwaneri of New Telegraph writes on the tension over the quest for power by the various political gladiators and the possibility of their actions igniting crisis during the general elections.

Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections promises to be an interesting, but fierce battle as political gladiators go neck-and-neck into a poll that has been characterised by intrigues and a tensed build-up.

Many have expressed cautious optimism that Nigeria may be heading to another round of election violence, as comments by some stakeholders have continued to raise concern about the possibility of bloodshed. Even the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has identified crisisprone areas that security agencies must place on red alert. The flashpoints were identified in the six geo-political zones by a committee set up by INEC’s Electoral Institute. Reasons for the anxiety over the elections cannot be farfetched. The country has a history of electoral violence. Of the nine general elections the nation had conducted since independence – 1964/1965, 1979, 1983, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015, none was violence-free.

The belief in most quarters is that the presidential, parliamentary and state gubernatorial and assembly elections, scheduled for February 16 and March 2, would be contentious due to tensions within and between the two major political parties – ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). To this end, there have been warnings that if the violent trend continues, and particularly, if the polls are marred or trailed by violence, it would deepen Nigeria’s already grave security and governance crises. Among the possible flash points as the elections commence tomorrow are Rivers, Kano, Imo, Ogun Akwa Ibom, Zamfara, Benue, Anambra, Sokoto, Kwara, Katsina and Niger states.

Rivers
The oil-rich state is one to watch during the polls given the tensed political atmosphere that might see a replay of the 2015 experience, in which several lives were lost. There is no love lost among political gladiators in the state at the moment. On one hand is a camp led by Governor Nyesom Wike, while on the hand, is the Chibuike Amaechiled group. The governor and the current Minister of Transportation were allies before they fell apart and it has been an ego war since then. The Amaechi-led APC had hoped to unseat Wike during the polls, but the Supreme Court judgement, which barred the party from fielding candidate for the elections, have cut short of that bid. While it seems a done deal for Wike and his party (PDP), they would be taking a costly political gamble if they believe that the battle is over as APC camp appears not to have given up.

Kano
The ancient trading city has always been a flash point in Nigeria’s electoral history given its peculiar politics and the large number of political enthusiasts in the state. But, with the rivalry between former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso (now senator representing Kano Central) and his successor, Umar Ganduje, the possibility of the state witnessing large crisis during the elections is very high. Both are not just political allies, they worked together as governor and deputy for eight years and enjoyed a harmonious working relationship that was devoid of rancour. They first came to stage in 1999, and even when Kwankwaso lost his re-election bid in 2003 and was appointed minister of Defence, he picked Ganduje as one of his aides. When he returned as governor, 2011, he also came back with Ganduje and worked tirelessly to ensure that his long standing deputy succeeded him.

But few months after Ganduje assumed, a wide crack emerged between the two. The crack came to the fore on October 21, 2015, the 59th birthday of Kwankwaso. The event has always been marked before then as Kwankwasiya Day. Kwankwasiya is the political movement led by the former governor. Both camps later seized fire, temporarily, following the intervention of their party’s national leadership, but the battle was rekindled ahead of the 2019 elections. The intrigues that ensued culminated to Kwankwaso’s exit from the APC for the PDP. Kwankwaso, whose son-in-law would be squaring against Ganduje in the governorship election, has persistently said that Ganduje’s second term bid is dead on arrival, but the governor maintains that the former governor is finished, politically. So, it is a proxy war that may rock the relative peace of the state.

Ogun
Given what happened at the recent presidential campaign rally of the APC in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, at which the leadership of the party, including President Buhari were booed and stoned, there is no doubt that the south western state is prone to crisis during the elections. The political atmosphere in the state has been tensed over Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s succession plan. His anointed candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade failed to secure the APC governorship ticket and had to move to Allied Peoples Movement (APM), but he face a stiff opposition in Dapo Abiodun, who is the standard bearer of the APC. For Governor Amosun who is contesting the senatorial election on the platform of the APC, delivering bulk of the states votes to Buhari is a task that must be done, but he has the likes of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-Governor Gbenga Daniel, who are rooting for the PDP presidential candidate to contend with.

Kaduna
Kaduna is another hot bed in the North West zone as the ego war between political gladiators in the state – Governor Nasri el- Rufai, Senator Shehu Sani and Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi – may plunge the former capital of the defunct Northern region into crisis. Besides the supremacy battle between the political gladiators, there is also the belief in some political quarters that choice of a Muslim-Muslim ticket by the ruling APC in the state poses a threat to fragile peace of a state divided along religious and ethnic lines. This situation in state is compounded by the recent statement credited to Governor el-Rufai, in which he said says any “foreign power” that intervenes in the general election would return to their country in body bags. el-Rufai said as an independent and sovereign state, Nigeria would never bow to foreign powers. “Those that are calling for anyone to come and intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that would come and intervene, they would go back in body bags,” he said.

Kogi
The North Central state has always been volatile during elections, but the rivalry between Governor Yahaya Bello and the lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, may introduce a new dimension to it. At a point during the governorship supplementary election campaigns, Melaye aptly captured Bello as the chosen one for the Confluence State, adding that anyone fighting Bello is fighting God. Though the duo were former political allies, the manner they parted ways and the consequent supremacy war that ensued has in the past two year continued to threaten the peace of the state. And with Bello’s camp determined to stop Melaye from returning to the Senate, the stage is set for an intriguing battle, which its outcome cannot be predicted.

Akwa Ibom
The oil-rich Niger Delta state, was before now controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which explained why elections in the state since 1999 have been relatively peaceful. But, the recent defection of some chieftains of the party led by ex-governor Godswill Akpabio, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) triggered a political crisis that suddenly pitched him against Governor Udom Emmanuel. Interestingly, Emmanuel rode on Akpabio’s back to become governor. The former handpicked the latter, a former executive director in Zenith Bank, appointed him Secretary to the State Government (SSG), groomed and later helped him become governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2015 despite opposition within the PDP then.

But the political climate of the state and the relationship between the duo went sour following the formal defection of Akpabio from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on August 8. Prior to his defection, the former governor resigned his position as the Senate Minority leader. His action was celebrated by the APC, but left PDP shell-shocked because it posed a major threat to Governor Emmanuel’s re-election bid. As it stands, the former governor will seize the opportunity of the polls to prove a point to his estranged political godson, who is, however, out to show that he is the new Sheriff in town.

Imo
There is no doubt that Governor Rochas Okorocha’s uncanny succession plot has turned the once peaceful state into a war zone. Okorocha is hell bent on having his sonin- law and former Chief of Staff as the next governor of the “Eastern Heartland,” but opposition against this bid turned former political allies to foes. The governor has wanted his anointed to run on the platform of the APC, but was resisted by the likes Osita Izunazo, Ifeanyi Ararume and his deputy governor, Eze Madumere. Nwosu, initially got the party’s ticket, but was later knocked out by the senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly, Hope Uzodinma. However, the governor did not back down. He directed his son-in-law and followers to join the Action Alliance (AA). As a result, Nwosu will slug it out with over 60 candidates in the battle for the Imo State government house. This scenario has put Imo in the spotlight among all the south eastern states as Okorocha and his traducers are ready to go the whole hog in proving their respective political strengths.

Benue
It is another supremacy battle in Benue State, which has witnessed flow of blood over time as a result of the herdsmen/farmers crisis. The contending personalities are Gover-nor Samuel Ortom, who must scale the hurdle set by his former ally and ex-governor of the state, Senator George Akume. The governor, who was elected on the platform of the APC dumped the party for the PDP over “the red card by the APC,” but there was no doubt that he took the decision following a protracted political cold war between him and Akume, over control of the party’s structure. Ortom had lost control of Benue APC to Akume during the ward, local government and state congresses of the party. The governor was unable to take charge of the party’s structure even in his Nzorov council ward of Guma Local Government Area though he explained after the congresses that he came into the party when there was no structure on ground and so he was not bothered whether he controls the structure of the party or not.

There is also a senatorial clash between Senator Barnabas Gemade and former Governor Gabriel Suswam, which is likely to stoke fire. Gemade was elected on the platform of the APC, but had to dump the party with Governor Ortom. He, however, got a shocker when he was denied of PDP’s ticket. The ticket was handed to Suswam, who he defeated in the 2015 elections. This explained why he moved to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to set up the stage for an epic battle for the Benue North East senatorial seat.

Kwara
The North Central state, before now could pass for a one-party state but recent developments in the polity have turned it to the spotlight. An attestation to this was the huge crowd that attended the presidential rally of the APC in Ilorin on February 11. Such wouldn’t have been possible before now because the state used to be the exclusivity of the PDP. But with mounting opposition against the Saraki political dynasty led the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Kwara is a state to watch during the elections. Interestingly, the opposition against Saraki is not only from the home front. There are elements outside the state, who are out to turn the political table against him. This outside elements believe that there was the need to liberate Kwara of the people from “an oppressor,” but Saraki, who is not new to political battles of such nature has readied his camp to give them a run for their money.

Zamfara
The north western state is another flash point to watch during the polls and the reasons are not farfetched. There is a succession battle that pitched former Governor Sani Yerima against Governor Abdulazeez Yari. No doubt, Yerima is a household name in Zamfara State. He has made kings and dethroned kings. He has been in charge of Zamfara politics since 1999. He decides who gets what, when and how in the state. He also gives direction as far as politics is concerned in the state. But his influence seems to have been whittled by his political godson, Yari. The situation in Zamfara is worsened by INEC’s insistence that the ruling APC in the state will not field candidate for the polls for dialing to conduct its primaries within the stipulated period for the exercise.

Katisna
Ordinary the state would not have been a flash point as it has its son – Buhari – at president, but the belief by some citizens of the state that the President is disposed only to his Daura kinsmen has seen opposition against his re-election bid. Those championing this cause have found an ally in the PPD presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who enjoys a level of followership in the state given his relationship with former Chief of General Staff, Supreme Headquarters and founder of the Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM), late General Musa Yar’Adua.

Niger
The North Central State is really not known for election violence, but the bid by former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida to President Buhari’s re-election may pitch his supporters and those of the President.

Kidnapping Made Us Rich and Marry More Wives - Suspects

Four suspected notorious kidnappers terrorizing Fota village in Lapai local government area in Niger state have been arrested by the Police. The kidnappers, Mohammed Abubakar, Mamuda Mohammed, Mohammed Mohammed, and Amadu Garba confessed that the ransom they get from their victims make them live lavishing lives.

The group met their waterloo when one of their kidnapped victims, Sani Dakuma escaped from their den.

It was learnt that the suspects had earlier kidnapped the father of Sani and collected the sum of N1.5 million as ransom before his release.

Speaking to newsmen when paraded in Minna, One of the suspects, Mamuda Mohammed said that kidnapping was their sole fast growing business in the area and they use the ransom money to marry more wives and lavish money on their girlfriends.

“We have been making a lot of money from our victims whenever we kidnapped them, the ransom was quite rewarding to an extent that we can compare ourselves with Directors in the state ministries.

“We swim in cash, marry more wives and lavish money on our girl friends. Honestly we never knew that our cups will come to brim until we found ourselves in the police net,” Mohammed confessed.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar said the suspects were trailed and apprehended based on tip-off by officers attached to Lapai Divisional Office.

He said the suspects had admitted to committing the offence and the matter has been charged to Court.

Buhari's Chief Of Staff Insists: US, UK, EU Have Hidden Agenda

The Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, says the utterances made by the officials of the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union, show that there is a hidden agenda ahead of Saturday’s elections.

Kyari, in an article titled, ‘Tomorrow Never Dies,’ questioned the motives of the western nations which claim to support Nigeria’s democratic growth but surreptitiously support those who wanted President Muhammadu Buhari to lose.

The President’s aide said those who wanted Buhari to lose were the elite.

He said, “These players have failed. They are angry but they have not yet given up. They have some unlikely allies. Our traditional friends in the US and Europe say they want nothing from Nigeria except free and fair elections. But if you look at what their representatives here actually do rather than what they say, the unmistakable signs of a quite different agenda are plain to see.”

Kyari said some of those in the campaign team of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar had links to Paul Manafort, a former aide to US President, Donald Trump, who had been indicted for electoral fraud.

He added, “Instead of judging Nigeria by our actions, it seems altogether too easy for foreign partners to be swayed by the expensive words of lobbyists. Riva Levinson has been hired by Bukola Saraki.

“She was trained by Paul Manafort and Roger Stone (both caught up in the probe into interference by foreign powers in the US elections in 2016) and guide earlier in her career to dictators like Siad Barre, unprincipled warlords like Jonas Savimbi, or frauds like Iraqi exile Ahmed Chalabi, the man who neo-conned the Bush White House.

“We are meant to believe that Ms Levinson, like the others who are paid by one of the contestants, wants only to promote a free and fair race. And that it is only a coincidence that this language for hire is identical to what we hear from accredited diplomats!”

The President’s aide said the Peoples Democratic Party perpetrated high-level corruption which set Nigeria on the path of failure.

He said a vote for Atiku would represent taking Nigeria backwards and wondered why the international community would fail to see this.

Kyari alleged that these foreign powers might not be happy with Buhari’s reforms which, he said, had cut imports from these countries.

He added, “Do our foreign friends simply not understand what is at stake, or do they actually want us to fail? We know we are not equal partners, and do not pretend to be so. In our own time in government, the US, the UK and the EU let us know subtly, and often not so subtly, what we should be doing on everything from currency reform to fuel deregulation and the import of toothpicks.

“They have their own subsidies to protect key strategic interests, their farmers and steel plants, but condemn our own efforts to protect the poorest and most vulnerable from an unregulated market for food, transport and housing, or to create and protect space for new opportunities and innovation to flourish. This is not so much a question of policy, but integrity: we, at least, mean what we say. So many past governments in Nigeria did not.”

Explicit Photos: Great-Grandma Celebrates 100th Birthday With Surprise Visit N*ked Butlers

A great-grandmother received a birthday treat to remember last week, when n-ked butlers were invited to her retirement home in Colchester, Essex.

Doll Jenkins, who celebrated her 100th birthday was "beaming" when the hunks arrived for her extra special shindig.

After visiting the home last year to serve residents a three-course meal, Doll was so impressed that she invited two butlers back to Milton Lodge to help celebrate her birthday.

"Her face just lit up when they came in, she was beaming," said senior carer Leigha Jones.

"We all sat in the lounge area waiting for them and when they came in she was a bit taken aback.

"She told them to go and put some clothes on, but she soon came out of her shell and was flirting and smacking their bottoms."

It seems Doll had a fabulous time and according to staff, she didn't want the topless hunks to leave.

"She loved it and she kept asking them to come back and say goodbye to her properly," Leigha continued.

"She kept asking if we could go and find the naked men again.

"She is a lot younger at heart - she still gets around and walks when she feels strong enough and she still laughs and jokes.

"There is never a time when she is not smiling."

T.I Records Diss Track For Mayweather Over His Support For ‘Gucci Racist Sweater’

The longtime beef between T.I. and Floyd Mayweather is continuing to boil, as the rapper dropped a scathing diss track against the professional boxer for wearing Gucci.

In the three-minute track titled "F**k N***a.", which dropped on the day of love (Feb. 14), T.I. goes in. "Old greedy a** n***a only thinking about his self / He get the fame, he get the wealth / Ya, people are struggling, who did you help?" T.I. flows, using Mayweather's face as the cover art for the song. "Damn, it must suck to be a f**k n***a."

This is coming after T.I. and many others' boycott against Gucci's racist sweater with blackface imagery. Floyd reportedly told TMZ that he doesn't mind the controversy and is "not no follower," wearing whatever he wants.

The two have been feuding since 2014, but 50 Cent also called out Floyd on Instagram. "Champ you need a publicist, man you saying all the wrong sh*t fool," he said. With many mockery images of Floyd following the diss.

Women Leader Kidnapped In Delta Just Hours To Election... Abductors Demand N30m

Unidentified gunmen have abducted an All Progressives Congress (APC) women leader in Delta State, identified simply as Margaret. She is said to be a supporter of the member representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege.

It was learnt that Margaret, a politician and trader from Efurun in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, was abducted on her way back from a campaign rally at Orogun, in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the 50-year-old woman, who contested the councillorship of her local government recently, was in a vehicle belonging to the unnamed director-general of Omo-Agege’s campaign team with three other party faithful.

While the other three occupants of the vehicle escaped from the abductors, Margaret was said to have been unlucky and was whisked away to an unknown destination.

The abductors of the APC member were said to have called a friend of the victim and demanded a ransom of N30m before she could be freed.

Explaining the plight of the victim, her friend and an APC faithful, who gave his name only as Commander, told The Punch that Margaret’s captors had called him many times regarding the ransom payment.

Commander, an ex-naval officer, who said the abductors demanded N30m ransom, said he initially did not know that the women leader had been abducted until he called her telephone on Tuesday.

He stated, “When I called her number, a man picked the call and I asked him to give the phone to the owner. But the man identified himself as a kidnapper. He told me that he would give me two minutes to speak with the captive for me to know that she had been abducted. I was taken aback when I heard him say that. Anyway, I still called the line to speak with Margaret. She told me that it was true that she had been kidnapped.

“After the two minutes, they collected the phone from her and started negotiating with me. They told me to go and bring N30m to secure her release or they would kill her the next day, being Wednesday. I started begging them not to kill her and that they should allow me to contact her people to let them know of the development.”

Commander said the abductors still called him to find out how far he had gone to raise the ransom.

He noted that when the abductors called him again on Thursday, he begged them to spare her and that he was making frantic efforts to reach Margaret’s family and the party hierarchy in the state to handle the matter.

Commander added, “I went to her house on Ogbon Street in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, but did not find anybody in the place. I also reached out to our party ward chairman, Desire Odjebibo, but he told me that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was aware of the abduction.

“I went further to reach out to the senator himself; he told me that he was aware of the incident and was working to ensure that the woman is released.”

Election: Presidency Plots Clamp Down On Media, Jam Network?

The Coalition of United Political Parties on Thursday alleged that the Federal Government had perfected plans to jam telecommunications signals around all collation centres and homes of key opposition leaders nationwide on Saturday during the presidential election.

It also said it was privy to arrangement being made to clamp down on some media houses and their reporters during the election.

The coalition’s spokesperson, Imo Ugochinyere, said this in a statement in Abuja.

He said the clampdown on media houses was meant to stop them from reporting the irregularities being planned for the election.

Ugochinyere added, “Opposition parties have reliably gathered that agents of the Federal Government have concluded plans to clamp down on media houses and their reporters on Saturday.

“This is to ensure that these media houses do not have the opportunity of informing Nigerians the various irregularities being planned for the Presidential and National Assembly elections in favour of the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress across the country.

“Top on the list of media organisations listed for attack are the Africa Independent Television, Silverbird Television, Arise Television, Ray Power FM and 15 other radio stations scattered across Rivers, Kwara, Kano, Akwa Ibom among other states.

“The plan is to jam and destroy transmitting equipment of these media organisations on election day.

“The strategy also includes indiscriminate arrest and detention of reporters and cameramen of these stations while their working tools will be confiscated and destroyed.”

Ugochinyere also claimed that the coalition had information of the move by the government to use a brother to a state governor in the North, who he described as a director in a major base station services provider for telecommunication companies, to disconnect service providers in targeted areas under the guise of debt recovery.

“They want to keep the whole country in darkness so as to stop citizens from tweeting, blogging and giving live updates on what is going on in every centre so that they will be able to carry out their rigging plan.

“They don’t want the people’s voice to be heard because they have already concluded their evil plot to ensure that the election is not free and fair,” he claimed.

Ugochinyere urged President Muhammadu Buhari to caution his men to desist from their plans and stop their repeated acts of instigating electoral violence.

He added, “We also appeal to the USA and UK to take note of these instigators of violence and continue to fulfill their promise of visa ban punishment for the perpetrators, which will serve as a warning to their already recruited supporters and potential recruits.

“We call on the security agents working with the APC government to remember the promise they made when they took an oath to serve and protect the lives of citizens and their properties, and desist from further causing any damage and harm to innocent citizens or disrupting the polls come February 16.

“We urge our citizens not to let any noise from the invaders of our democracy called the APC distract them from coming out to vote on Saturday, to let their voices to be heard.”
