The Independent National Electoral Commission says “in compliance with court order,” the Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress will participate in the governorship, National and State Assembly elections.

“The files are above my height… we are still working,” said Chacha Mwita, one of the judges, who added that one of his colleagues was on leave and other members of the three-judge bench were juggling multiple cases.
Japan's Olympics Minister, Yoshitaka Sakurada, has publicly apologised after arriving three minutes late to a parliamentary meeting on Thursday.
Opposition MPs said his tardiness showed disrespect for his office and boycotted a meeting of the budget committee for five hours in protest.
They have been highly critical of Mr Sakurada after a series of gaffes.
Last week, he said he felt let down after Olympic swimming hopeful Rikako Ikee was diagnosed with leukaemia.
"She is a potential gold medallist [at the Tokyo 2020 Games], an athlete in whom we have great expectations. I'm really disappointed," he was quoted as saying. He was then forced to apologise after being criticised.

The world’s biggest honey bee, a giant insect generally the measure of a human thumb has been rediscovered in a remote locale of Indonesia in its first sighting in about 40 years.
Until recently, the last time Adam C. Messer had reported seeing Wallace’s giant bee living in the wild was in 1981. The bee is among the 25 “most wanted lost” species that are the focus of Global Wildlife Conservation’s “Search for Lost Species” initiative.
Clay Bolt, a specialist bee photographer who snapped the enormous insect said, “To actually see how beautiful and big the species is in life, to hear the sound of its giant wings… was just incredible.”
“My dream is now to elevate this bee to a symbol of conservation in this part of Indonesia, a point of pride for the locals there.”
The bee (full name Megachile pluto), which lives in the Indonesian island region of North Moluccas, makes its nest in termite mounds, using its large fang-like mandibles to collect sticky resin to protect its home from the termites.

A Lagos Division of the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Super Eagles star, Austin Okocha, over tax evasion charges.
Jay Jay Okocha as he is popularly known has repeatedly failed to appear before the court to answer why he allegedly failed to pay his income taxes.
Adedayo Akintoye, the judge, issued the warrant for the arrest of the former Eagles captain on January 29 and thereafter adjourned until February 19.
However, on February 19, the prosecution had not effected the arrest forcing the judge to, again, adjourn till April 15 and ordering that the warrant be executed by then.
The football star is facing a three-count charge instituted by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice bordering on failure to furnish his income returns and nonpayment of tax.
The state filed the charges through its prosecutor, Jide Martins, in June 2017 and the suit began four months later.
The defendant, however, had failed to appear in court.

Nollywood actress Blessing Egbe in an interview with Everything Entertainment has told about her s-xual harassment in the movie industry. According to her, a prominient producer and director had tried to take advantage of her. She said;
“The harassment came from a prominent writer, producer, director who also wanted to try his luck. I had called to speak to him about the possibility of us working together. He gave me an appointment which I kept. The meeting was at a hotel, not his office. The Kano state police Command had carried out series of raids at black spots and criminal hideouts and arrested several suspected armed robbers, thugs, dealers of hard drugs (Kwaya) and recovered large quantity of intoxicants, a pistol and other dangerous locally made weapons.

An Iveco truck with registration No. FGE 522 XA fully loaded with counterfeit substandard and hard drugs was intercepted along Murtala Mohd way Kano.
Some of the counterfeit drugs recovered without NAFDAC registration includes 5 Cartons of liquid Glucose, 1 Carton of Diabetes control tea, 128 cartons of cold caplets, 10 fake topping sauce, 10 buckets of Margarine, 1 carton of Supreme flour, 31 bags of Devataa flour, 24 bags of Augmentin tablets, 2 bags of Amplicox capsules, packages of Anti Malaria seals, 50 Cartons of cool Refrigerants, 50 Jerri cans and 6 drums of Hydro Chloride Acid among others.
A suspect, Ibrahim Datti, 45 of Rimaye Village, Ungogo LGA was arrested with 6 drums of Methylene Choloride (suck and die) valued at N558,000 while en-route to distribution point. Investigation is in progress to arrest all his accomplices.
A syndicate of suspected armed robbers that are constantly striking and dispossessing residents of Sheka, Zoo Road, Tudun Maliki, Tukuntawa and Maidile Quarters Kano was busted.
Suspects arrested are (1) Auwalu Adamu, (2) Mohammed Suleman and (3) Abdullahi Iliyasu all of Sheka Quarters were arrested where an English made Pistol recovered from them. Investigation is in progress.
Another suspect, Abubakar Ahmed of Mile 9 Kano who conspired with others now at large, specialized in snatching exotic motor vehicles on the highway, drove to a hideout located in the above address where they disassemble and sell as spare parts to unsuspecting members of the public. Motor vehicles recovered are 1 Toyota Hiece Commuter bus, 1 Golf wagon and a Hummer motor vehicle. Investigation has commenced.
A syndicate of suspected car thieves that snatched a Toyota Hilux motor vehicle was busted. The suspects, Ibrahim Bashir and Yahuza Bilyaminu all of Ladanai Quarters Kano were arrested with the said vehicle. Investigation is in progress.
On 20th February, 2019 one Mohd Sani of Mubi LGA Adamawa State was intercepted at Kwanar Dumawa villege, Danbatta LGA ferrying 6750 units of locally made knives concealed inside bags. He is on transit to Katsina State with the exhibit for an unspecified mission. Investigation is in progress.
In continuation of the raid at various criminal hideouts and black spots in the State, a total of 653 suspects were arrested within the week with various weapons, and intoxicating substances (Kwaya).
616 suspects were already charged to court for prosecution while 37 drugs (Kwaya) dealers are under investigation.
An unidentified Police Inspector was on Thursday arrested at a hotel in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for aiding some people to paint a fake Police patrol vehicle for use by politicians in Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
It was learnt that two of the vehicles (Volvo V70), which was one of the types procured by the state government for the state Command of the Nigeria Police Force, were brand new cars ostensibly bought for the purpose of aiding electoral fraud.
A source, who was privy to the development, disclosed to The Punch that the Police intercepted the thugs and the policeman at the hotel while they were branding the vehicles.
He said, “There was information that some men suspected to be political thugs working for a political party were branding the type of Volvo V70 which the state government donated to the Police.
“The rebranding was being done ahead of Saturday’s elections. The vehicles already had the siren installed and the Police inscription also on it, as well as the identification numbers.
“When the Police got to the hotel, the suspects had already relocated one of the vehicles, while the second vehicle was being branded with the assistance of the Police Inspector.
“He (the Inspector) was taken to the Police station and the vehicle was recovered. The Police suspect was taken to the station for investigation and he has made useful statements.
“He mentioned some persons who engaged him in the services he was rendering. Investigation is ongoing. The Inspector is serving in one of the intelligence departments in the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Odiko MacDon, said he had yet to be briefed on the development.
PDP stalwart and former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has raise alarm that the EFCC are heading to his house this Friday purportedly to search for Atiku's Election money.
He wrote; "Just heard that some officials of EFCC are in Ekiti to invade my residence in Afao Ekiti early morning tomorrow. They are coming to search my house for Atiku election money.

This is terrible. A 48-year-old man has reportedly gone into hiding after allegedly r*ping a 6-year-old girl in an uncompleted building in Ogboji, Orumba South LGA, Anambra State.
The suspect identified as Mr. Chikaodi Unanah (a married man with two kids) allegedly lured the underage girl named Onyinyechukwu - into the building where he removed her pant and penetrated.
It was gathered that little Onyinyechukwu cried to her house after the act and her grandmother discovered that she was r*ped before rushing her to a government owned health centre in the area.
According to human rights activist Gwamnishu Emefiena Harrison, the suspect has gone into hiding to evade arrest and only one Mr. Nwike Ofoezie knows his whereabouts.
It was also revealed that he paid N10,000 and pleaded with Onyinyechukwu's grandmother to let the issue die.
The wife of the president Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has asked Nigerians as they go to the polls on Saturday, to decide whether the want the poor to remain poorer and the rich richer or a society where the gap begins to be reduced - which means a more prosperous society.
