Google Currency is currently showing that one dollar is going for N184, but this is just a glitch in its software. The Central Bank of Nigeria sold the greenback to bureau de change (BDC) operators at N357 per dollar on Friday, The Cable reports.
Musa Ibrahim, a BDC operator, who spoke to TheCable from Lagos Island, said he bought $20,000 from the CBN at 357 per dollar.
“We collected from CBN today at the rate of N357, and each BDC operator is entitled to $20, 000,” he said.
Two members of staff at Google, who spoke off the record, confirmed to TheCable that this was just a bug, that is currently being fixed by the search giant.
According to Bloomberg currency rate, the dollar is currently trading at N361.8, with the local currency gaining N1.75 against the greenback.
President Muhammadu Buhari this afternoon arrived in Katsina en route to Daura, his hometown, to participate in the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections tomorrow.
The presidential aircraft conveying the president, his wife, Aisha, and some of his aides landed at Umar Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, about 3.25p.m.
The president was received at the airport by Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State, the Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, members of the National Assembly from Katsina State, heads of Federal Government agencies in the state and other government functionaries.
The president left the airport in a presidential helicopter for Daura shortly afterwards.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s aide, Adeniyi Adesanya is died. He died in an accident which occurred at Siun-Kobape along Sagamu-Abeokuta road this evening, only few hours to the general election.

Ailing popular actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, has been admitted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). The 60-year-old was taken to the hospital in Idi Araba, Lagos State on Friday.
His admission was facilitated by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) with the assistance of the Federal Ministry of Health. We wish him quick recovery.
The Police Command in Kano State says it has arrested the member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal constituency, Abdulmumini Jibrin over Thursday’s clash between supporters of PDP and APC in the state.
The PRO of the Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed his arrest.
He said Jibrin was arrested alongside some political leaders from the area in connection with the clash between supporters of the PDP and the APC at Kofa village in Bebeji local government area.
He said Jibrin was arrested alongside the political leaders for questioning over the incident.
No fewer than two persons lost their lives following the clash while 20 vehicles were burnt and 18 others vandalised.
The state police Commissioner, Wakili Muhammad and the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone One; Dan Bature arrested Jibrin at Kofa village on Friday.
The two top Police officers were in the village to assess the security situation in the area and the extent of destruction of facilities at the village.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said that for every member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who participates in tomorrow’s election as ad-hoc staff would be paid N30,500.
INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, said this in Abuja, while addressing stakeholders during the commission’s third briefing on the preparedness of INEC to conduct tomorrow’s elections.

Latresa and Rochelle also spoke, and Latresa gave a detailed account of the night she claims she was s-xually abused by Kelly. She says she was 16 and Washington was 15 when they went to an R. Kelly and LL Cool J concert and after-party in Baltimore.
She claims Kelly singled them out and someone in his crew gave them drugs and alcohol despite being underage. They were then invited to Kelly's hotel afterward and their cab fare was paid for to get there.
Scaff alleges the 2 called a local radio show to tell them they were sitting in R. Kelly's hotel room and even made it on the air ... before the singer arrived.
When he did, Scaff claims his p-nis was exposed and he quickly got the teenage girls on his bed and tried to coax them into a threesome.
Latresa says Rochelle declined and went to hide in the bathroom, and that's when Kelly had s-x with her without her consent. She says Kelly left the room shortly afterward and they never heard from him again.
Already a grand jury has been convened to investigate the alleged s-x tape that Michael Avenatti handed over to Cook County's State Attorney's Office.
Avenatti says the VHS tape shows Kelly having s-x with a girl who seems to be 14 years old.
It's unclear if the women who spoke today are among the women prosecutors flew to Chicago to watch the new tape to see if any of Kelly's surroundings looked familiar or to identify the girl.
Almost a year after the World Cup in Russia, the designer of Super Eagles traditional outfit to the tournament is yet to be paid. Gt Stitches, the designer, on Thursday accused the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) of failing to pay for the outfit, nearly eight months after.
The clothing brand’s CEO, Esimaje Awani, made the allegation in a post online.
He wrote on Gt page: “NFF refused to pay for ceremonial outfit almost one year after World Cup! This can only happen in Nigeria!!”
Awani, who did not say how much the deal was worth, accused NFF President Amaju Pinnick of avoiding him over the debt.
He said: “My brother Amaju has stopped picking my calls cos (sic) of this money. Someone at the office told me court is my only option!! What a shame!!”
Responding to a critic who criticised him for “coming out now to spill this”, Awani challenged the NFF to deny his claims.
He said: “Please, let NFF come out and say their part! I have not been paid period. Some persons might not be patient as I was on the subject matter.”

Few hours to Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, the United Kingdom has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to be impartial in the elections.
In a broadcast aired on Friday on the verified Twitter handle of the British High Commission in Nigeria, @UKinNigeria, the British High Commissioner to the country, Ms Catriona Laing, asked Nigerians not to be discouraged to vote again due to the postponement of the elections.
She said, “Tomorrow is voting day again. We recognise the huge disappointment of Nigerians since they woke up last Saturday to hear the news that the elections had been postponed. But your votes still count.
“It’s your chance to make a difference, not just to vote for the politicians of your choice, but also to play your part in Nigeria’s emerging democracy, helping to consolidate the progress since 2015.”
Laing said as a long-time friend and partner of Nigeria, the UK would play its part in the elections, saying the UK had over 60 observers in 15 states to monitor the elections.
She urged INEC and security agencies to remain impartial during the exercise.
Laing said, “One thing we will be looking forward to is ensuring that the security services are there to support your democratic right to vote.
“And, of course, it is very important that INEC remains impartial throughout the elections.”
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has announced the arrest of one Okon Bassey in possession of 244 Permanent Voter Cards in Akwa Ibom State and dislodged 35 drug joints and hotspots in Kano State ahead of the elections.
A cash sum of N310,000 was recovered from the suspect who was arrested in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The Akwa Ibom command of the NDLEA also arrested 120 suspected hard drug dealers found to be in possession of 51kg of cannabis, 259gm of heroin, 17gm of cocaine, 500gm of Tramadol Diazepam and Polypro.
The agency said the suspected PVC thief had been handed over to the Independent National Electoral Commission for further investigation, while others caught with hard drugs had been charged to court.
When Jussie Smollett called the cast and crew of the television show "Empire" together Thursday night, they were expecting the actor to come clean about what really happened, a person at the meeting told CNN.
Smollett did apologize to his coworkers for any embarrassment they might have felt since the story began. But then, to the shock and dismay of the person who attended the meeting, Smollett stuck to his story of innocence.
For the most part, the source said, he paraphrased what was in the statement that his attorney put out that afternoon, blaming the legal system and the media for his woes.
The "Empire" actor was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of filing a false report about a January 29 incident where he said he was the victim of a hate crime. Police allege Smollett paid two men to stage the attack in hopes of promoting his career, according to Chicago Superintendent Eddie Johnson.
Smollett appeared in court Thursday afternoon and spoke only to confirm his name to the judge. His defense team told the court that Smollett was not a flight risk and cited his philanthropic work in making his case for bail. The judge granted a $100,000 bail, and Smollett paid a $10,000 bond. He was ordered to give up his passport and will remain under supervision until his case is adjudicated.
"Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked. Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense," Smollett's attorneys said.
When suspicions arose that Smollett's story could be fabricated, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment released a statement last week standing by him.
"The idea that Jussie Smollett has been, or would be, written off of 'Empire' is patently ridiculous," the statement read. "He remains a core player on this very successful series and we continue to stand behind him."
After his arrest Thursday, the studio and network released another statement.
"We understand the seriousness of this matter and we respect the legal process," 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment said in a statement to CNN on Thursday. "We are evaluating the situation and we are considering our options."
Smollett is "on hold" for Friday's shoot, per the production schedule that was recently released to cast and crew.
The filming of the season finale episode of Empire is in progress this week and next week. 20th Century Fox Television executive VP of corporate communications and publicity, Chris Alexander, confirmed that Smollett was on set filming on Thursday.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, said officers of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested Senator Rafiu Ibrahim (representing Kwara South) ahead of Saturday’s elections.
Hon. Muideen Abdulrahman, Chairman, PDP Kwara South Youth Forum, raised the alarm.
