Minority Leader Loses Senate Seat

The Senate Minority Leader, Biodun Olujimi has lost her bid to return to the Senate, as she has been defeated by former fellow party man, Dayo Adeyeye of the All Progressives Congress.

Mr Adeyeye emerged victorious at the end of the count of votes for Ekiti South senatorial district.

Mr Adeyeye defected to the APC shortly before the 2018 governorship election, after the controversial PDP governorship primaries.

The Returning Officer for Ekiti South senatorial district, Laide Lawal, said Mr Adeyeye polled 77, 621 to defeat his closest rival, Mrs Olujimi who scored 53, 741.

In the same vein, incumbent senator, Fasina Abayomi of the PDP was also defeated by an APC chieftain, Olubunmi Adetunbi.

Nigerian Opposition Leader Buba Galadima ‘Arrested’

Buba Galadima, a political ally of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of Nigeria’s main opposition in Saturday’s presidential election, was arrested on Sunday, his Peoples Democratic Party has said.

Specifics of the development were still unclear as of press time, but the party’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it occurred in Abuja.

“He was accosted on the road and arrested,” Mr Ologbonyan said, adding that he was still making efforts to obtain further details.

A host of opposition voices online quickly pointed at the State Security Service as the agency responsible for Mr Galadima’s arrest, and demanded his immediate release.

Tyga Reaches For Security Guard’s Gun After Being Dragged Out Of Floyd Mayweather’s Party

Rapper Tyga, 29, was taken out of club Sunset Room on Feb. 23 at 42-year-old Floyd Mayweather’s birthday party in Hollywood after getting into an argument with another event attendee, TMZ reported.

After being kicked out of the club and physically removed by a guard, Tyga attempted to grab his security guard’s gun, but luckily, the guard stopped Tyga from obtaining the weapon, seen in video footage obtained by the outlet.

“Alright bro,” the rapper yelled while still being escorted out of the club. “Chill out!”

Eyewitnesses asked Tyga if he was okay after he broke free from the guard who took him out.

After Tyga was let go, he stood near his security guard and put his hand in the guard’s pocket to reach for his gun. However, Tyga’s security guard didn’t let Tyga take the gun, despite Tyga’s multiple attempts, which likely kept the situation from escalating even further.

Tyga’s guard can be seen sternly talking to Tyga in the video clip, likely encouraging Tyga to leave the scene and de-escalate the situation entirely. Tyga walked, and then ran, away from the reporters asking for an account of what happened inside. Toward the end of the clip, Tyga was seen getting into an argument with his security guard, but the reasoning for the argument is unknown. The people around Tyga were telling him “he’s not worth it,” – perhaps indicating that Tyga wanted to go back to the initial guard who kicked him out, or to the attendee inside the club who he had gotten into the initial spat with.

Tyga’s friend then demanded that people stop recording what was happening, due to the “real sh*t [going on] right now.”

Finally, Tyga was seen entering a red car, and finally, exiting the premises. No one appeared hurt in the situation, but it remains unclear why Tyga was initially forcefully taken out of the club.

SERIOUSLY? PDP Now Has The Polling Units Results Showing Atiku As Winner

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) says President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are mounting pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) to declare FCT results inconclusive.

The parties claim that Buhari lost all the wards in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and is seeking to manipulate the results.

CUPP also claimed that the APC is attempting to inflate figures from the northwest and northeast to counter the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) victory in the southern region of the country.

“The CUPP is in possession of irrefutable evidence that APC Governors of the northwest and some of North East geo-political zones are working assiduously to inflate the number of votes scored by President Muhammadu Buhari in those regions so as to neutralize the landslide lead of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the other four geo-political zones,” a statement by Ikenga Ugochinyere, read.

“They have most shockingly secured the ignoble collaboration of the Nigerian Army which has begun to give cover to APC Chieftains and compromised electoral officers to hold back the results from the areas and to later attempt to smuggle in the inflated results.

“Also having confirmed from their situation room that the numbers do not add up and that President Buhari also failed to secure the constitutional 25% of the votes cast in each of two thirds of the states of the Federation, the President and his Party are mounting pressure on the Enugu State Governor and the State Resident Electoral Commissioner including other South East States to alter some results so as to award at least 25% of the Votes to the President.”

CUPP also claimed that the incumbent President did not secure the necessary 25 percent in the southeastern part of the country.

“It is instructive that President Buhari did not secure the 25% votes in any of the States of the South East. It is also in this same light that the outgoing administration is plotting frantically to declare the results of the FCT as inconclusive so as to order a rerun where they will use security and thugs to intimidate the people,” CUPP said.

“We hereby call on the Electoral Commission not to cancel any results already declared where no incidents were recorded but only for the President to have the opportunity to have an unmerited second chance.

“The opposition Presidential Situation Room has completed compilation of Polling Unit result sheets and tabulation of all results and we have called the election for the incoming President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. We may, however, be compelled to release these results to the public to forestall INEC from playing the games the APC is prodding them to play.

“Our candidate won in a vast majority of the almost 120,000 Polling Units across the country. We wonder how INEC would now cancel results of elections where even agents of the ruling party signed and where they lost.

“The credibility of this election must be maintained and not tarnished because of the undeserved extended ambition of a man who failed woefully in office.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has won the elections. President Buhari and the APC know this hence their desperation to attempt to overturn the will of the people. But we sound this note of warning to them; we shall successfully resist any human force that wants to tamper with the victory of our candidate and the will of the majority of Nigerians.

“The attempt to foist on Nigerians an illegitimate President through inflation of electoral figures have failed. The People have elected a legitimate President in the Person of Atiku Abubakar going by the Polling Units results in our firm custody and we have no fear or doubt about our ability to defend the sacred mandate Nigerian people have given to Atiku Abubakar.”

UPDATE: Buhari Wins Ekiti, Dogara Wins Rep... Saraki, Akpabio Reportedly Struggling

The full Ekiti state results are out. APC’s President Muhammadu Buhari had 219,231 votes as against PDP’s Atiku Abubakar who had 154,032 votes. This is the first state with complete official result.

Also, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara against all odds is heading back to the House of Representatives for the fourth time.

Results from Zwall the collation centre of Dass/Tafawa-Balewa/Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State showed that the Speaker who contested on the PDP platform polled a total of 72,334 votes while his main challenger of the ruling APC, Dalhatu Abubakar Kantana polled a total of 51,664 votes.

As at the time of this report only a total of about 600 votes were outstanding from Kopti unit where elections did not hold on Saturday due to faulty card reader.

However, the Senate president Bukola Saraki and former Senate minority leader Godswill Akpabio are both said to be struggling in Kwara and Akwa Ibom states to return to the Senate.

Gov Udom Emmanuel’s Senior Special Adviser On Security Matters Abducted

The Senior Special Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Capt Iniobong
Ekong, has been abducted. It was gathered that Ekong was picked up around midnight on Friday allegedly by soldiers, purportedly because of a petition written by Senator Godswill Akpabio.

The state Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Udoh, who confirmed the incident, said Ekong was picked up at his residence in Uyo, the state capital.

It was learnt that he was taken to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for interrogation.

The commissioner, who recalled that the military had said it would play no role in the elections, asked why the army was responsible for investigating petitions and detaining people.

“When did it become the responsibility of the army to arrest and detain people?” he asked.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Odiko MacDon, when contacted, said the police had yet to receive such information.

Ballot Papers, Card Readers Burnt As Hoodlums Attempt To Burn INEC Office In Osun

Suspected hoodlums on Saturday midnight attacked the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ijebu-Ijesa, Oriade Local Government Area in Osun State.

During the attack, the suspects were said to have burnt card readers and ballot papers of the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections.

It was gathered that the hoodlums would have razed down the entire building, but for the timely arrival of security operatives.

A security officer who pleaded anonymity said the incident happened after INEC officials had already declared results of the elections in the local government areas and moved both the staff and some materials to the Senatorial Collation Centre at Ilesa Grammar School.

The INEC spokesperson in Osun State, Mrs Sayo Adedokun, confirmed the incident but said since the result sheets were not affected at all, the hoodlums’ action would not affect the election results.

“The hoodlums wanted us to cancel the results but they failed. They came too late because the results had already been declared. Also thankfully, the result sheets were not affected,” she said.

Atiku Replies Buhari: We're Winning, No Need To Panic

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed confidence that he is coasting to victory in the presidential election.

The former vice-president also denied allegations by the ruling party that his camp recruited thugs to disrupt the election, wondering why the PDP would do so “when we are winning”.

The presidential election which was marred by widespread violence is believed to be a close contest between Atiku and President Muhammadu Buhari.

While the results were coming in, the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign organisation alleged that the PDP was recruiting thugs to disrupt the process.

But in a statement issued on his behalf by Phrank Shaibu, his aide, Atiku asked Buhari to instead call the “wilder elements” in his party to order.

Atiku also thanked PDP supporters who “conducted themselves so peacefully despite the significant provocations and threats of violence.”

“General Buhari you have promised our people and the world that you would conduct ‘free, fair and credible elections’ so please call off the wilder elements within your party and deliver on your promise,” he said.

“I am familiar with how brazen and the complete lack of shame the APC can exhibit, but even I was shocked to witness just how low they went last night by accusing the PDP of ‘recruiting armed thugs’ to do just that. Why would we want to do that when we are winning?”

He also thanked his supporters for voting for him en masse in the election, adding that with the PDP’s cloud-based SVC system – which is collating real-time results from the polling units, he could guarantee “victory was at hand.”

He said: “With strong shares of vote in SS, SE as well as an increased share in SW and NC we are very pleased with the progress the PDP has made. We look forward to sharing some exciting news in other parts of the country very soon, which will confound all the armchair pundits.

“The people of Nigeria can take solace that very soon the living Nightmare of the last four years will come to an end so that together we will get Nigeria working again.”

Lagos, Rivers, Anambra: INEC Reschedules Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that it would reschedule elections in some parts of Rivers, Anambra and Lagos states where there were cases of violence and ballot box snatching.

The commission which specifically mentioned the
National Assembly elections in Rivers State, also acknowledged the challenges of smart card readers, saying they have been resolved.

INEC Commissioner and chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, while giving an update on the ongoing elections, said where the malfunctioning of smart card readers were not resolved before the closing of elections, voting will continue the next day.

He said, “We received reports of violence and ballot box snatching which took place in Akokotoro and Bonny LGAs in Rivers State; and some parts of Lagos and Anambra states. We are waiting for the reports, we have told the Resident Electoral Commissioners in the states to submit reports. So long as the poll is didn’t commence, it is assumed that there was no voting.

“So, elections in these areas, especially in areas related to the House of Representatives and Senate didn’t take place and the date for the election will be decided later after we receive reports from INEC officials on ground.”

The commission also said that most of the challenges association with smart card readers were resolved on time.
Okoye also threatened that any INEC official who deliberately refused to make use of the smart card readers would be prosecuted because that action contravened the electoral guidelines and provisions of the Electoral Act.

He said, “It was made clear that the use of smart card reader is mandatory. Therefore any official of the commission who will deliberately refuse to use the smart card reader will be subject to prosecution.

“The challenges of smart card readers have been resolved. But where they are not resolved before the closing of elections, the election will continue the next day.”

He also explained that all the unused ballot papers will be cancelled immediately after election.

Ex-bread seller Olajumoke opens up on issues with husband

When bread hawker, Olajumoke Orisaguna, walked past the location where photographer, TY Bello, was having a photo session with London-based rapper, Tinie Tempah, in 2016, little did she know that it would alter the course of her life. Her fortunes quickly changed for the better and her story enthralled millions of Nigerians, who were amazed by her good luck. Many further warmed up to her because she usually appeared with her spouse, Sunday, for interviews and she always spoke of him glowingly.

However, it seems there is trouble in their paradise.
Sunday Orisaguna recently granted an interview in which he alleged that Jumoke had become rude and no longer respected him.

However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Olajumoke denied all the allegations made by her man. She said, “Anybody can say whatever pleases them with their mouth. He is the one that has been spreading such stories. When a man knows everything about you, he can choose to do whatever with that information. As for me, I am okay and there is nothing wrong with me.”

Denying that there was any rift in their union, Olajumoke said, “Whatever is going on is known to God. We are still together. He has never discussed all what he has been saying outside with me, so I don’t understand what he is driving at because we sleep in the same house.

“Well, he can continue saying whatever pleases him but I will not say anything bad about him. There is nobody I will discuss his matter with; I just leave him to God. God will judge between us.”

Asked if Sunday was displeased because she no longer gave him money, Olajumoke said, “Now you understand what I have been saying. I do not need to break it down beyond that; you already know what I mean. I will not say anything bad about him. I have handed him to God.”
Reacting to the claims that things started going downhill for her after she left her former manager, Azuka Ogujuiba, Olajumoke said, “Azuka was one of the people that assisted me at the inception of my career. She is usually busy and that is why I decided to change my manager. I still communicate regularly with Azuka and we have even spoken today (Thursday). She and TY Bello are like sisters to me.”

Olajumoke said she hadn’t become a spendthrift since she came to the limelight. “I have always been a good manager. Even when I was working in the bakery, I knew how to manage the resources available to me. Can you imagine a man not working for two years and being fed by a woman?”

Oshiomhole, APC Struggling For Votes With PDP In Edo

Landslide victory is now very difficult for anyhone. The All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party are neck to neck in the Presidential and national assembly Elections in Edo State, home of the APC national chairman.

Both parties are showing strength in their individual strongholds. Who wins?

No official results have been announced as collation of results was still going. Oshiomhole and the state governor won their polling units clearly, but the PDP made a catch up in several areas.

In Edo South where Senator Matthew Urhoghide and Patrick Obahiagbon are in the race, unofficial results showed there were no clear winner yet.

For the House of Representatives seat on Ovia Constituency, Dennis Idahosa of the All Progressives Congress maintained a lead in his stronghold while Barr. Omosede Igbinedion held on to Okada, her hometown.

Hon Ehiozuwa Agbonnayima took the lead in Ikpoba-Okha while his opponent, Jude Ise-Idehen, is said to win in some wards in Egor.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, in charge of elections, Dan-Malam Mohammed, who visited several polling units in company of the lnter-Agencies Consultative Committee on Elections warned policemen not to allow anybody enter INEC office.

His words: “Make sure you work with the names on your list. You know lNEC office is very vital during collation of results, make sure it is properly secure.”

Tinubu Brags After Bullion Van Took "Money" To His House?

Fayose's Home Raided By EFCC While Looking For Election Money... Bullion Van Takes Money to Tinubu's House For Election In Broad Daylight. This is Nigeria, indeed.

APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has told those asking questions about the presence of bullion vans at his residence in Bourdillon area of Ikoyi, Lagos, to mind their business, adding that he can keep his money anywhere he wants.

Tinubu said this while fielding questions from journalists on Saturday in Ikeja. Some pictures had gone viral on social media on Friday showing two bullion vans making their way into Tinubu’s premises. According to speculations, the vans allegedly contained huge sums of money.

Tinubu simply said he was not a government contractor and therefore had the right to spend his money as he pleased.

He said, “What is your issue with bullion vans in my house? I have not done any government business in the last five years. So I didn’t steal government money. And the bullion van was not said to contain election materials. So what offence have I committed?

“I decide where to keep it (money) and how to keep it.”

PDP In Early Lead, Tells Buhari: Get Ready To Accept Defeat

Information coming from majority of polling units across Nigeria shows that Atiku Abubakar of the PDP is in an early lead, ahead of his close rival, Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, who is doing well in the North West and North East. More results are trickling in.

The leading opposition party, PDP, has charged President Buhari and his party, APC, to stop whining over their “rejection” in the presidential election and quietly accept defeat.

The party said the APC and agents of the Buhari Presidency, were bewildered by defeat and thus plotting to discredit the votes which the opposition party sad Nigerians freely delivered to Atiku.

A statement last night by the spokesman for the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said part of alleged plot is to trigger mayhem and burn down Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in order to destroy all evidence of poll results.

The statement said, “The PDP reminds President Buhari and the APC that the polling unit is the foundation of the election and all our agents and supporters already have the results in all the polling centers and voting points across the country.

“As such, our party is holding strongly to our results as already delivered by the people at the polling units and such cannot be altered.

“The PDP, therefore, counsels President Buhari and his APC to respect the will of the people and accept the verdict of the election. It is not for President Buhari to direct his campaign spokesperson to tell Nigerians that no party should rejoice.

“For us in the PDP, we already have the figures and we are aware that Nigerians in their resolve and consensus have settled their votes in favour of the people’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as the next President of our country.

“President Buhari should be prepared to take his defeat in good faith. After all, he will not be the first sitting President to lose in an election”.
