Controversial Serena Williams Cartoon Deemed ‘Non-Racist’ By Press Watchdog
A controversial cartoon of Serena Williams published in an Australian newspaper last year did not breach media standards, a press watchdog says.
The cartoon depicted Williams jumping above a broken racquet next to a baby's dummy in the US Open final.
Critics complained that the caricature used racist and sexist stereotypes of African-American people.
The Australian Press Council noted that some had found the image "offensive", but accepted the publisher's defence.
Williams sparked controversy during her loss to Naomi Osaka in September for her on-court behaviour where she accused the umpire of sexism and being a "thief".
The Herald Sun newspaper and cartoonist Mark Knight have consistently called their depiction a comment on Williams's behaviour, denying it was racist or sexist.
The press watchdog said the newspaper had "sufficient public interest in commenting on behaviour and sportsmanship".

APC & PDP Reacting: Atiku Wins Adamawa, Leads In Edo... Buhari Wins Lagos, Leads In Kano
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected results of the presidential elections being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Uche Secondus, PDP national chairman, said the results being announced are “incorrect and unacceptable” to the party.
He said the PDP has discovered “irregularities” in results so far announced from Nasarawa state and the FCT, Abuja, alleging that the APC “colluded” with INEC and security agencies to manipulate results from polling units across the country.
On its part, the APC Campaign Council says INEC has done a good job so far.
The APC is insisting that the opposition PDP should allow INEC to continue what it described as the good job they are doing in collation and announcing of results from across the county.
Meanwhile as the official results continue to tickle in, it has been observed that President Buhari of the APC has won Lagos with over one hundred thousand votes, while he takes the lead in Kano.
Atiku of the PDP has won Enugu with about two hundred thousand votes, he won his home state of Adamawa and has the lead in Edo, the APC chairman's state.
There are talks of manipulation and inflation of results, but so far INEC is not entertaining such claims.

Lai Mohammed Promises To Make Feb 23rd Liberation Day In Kwara
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Monday said that February 23 will be declared as Kwara Liberation Day immediately the new government comes to power in the state.
Mohammed disclosed this in Ilorin on Monday while addressing a Press Conference with stakeholders of the party in the state.
The minister who said that the presidential and National Assembly elections was a clean sweep for APC in the state said, “As you must be aware by now, the official results of last Saturday’s National Assembly elections in Kwara have been announced.
It is a clean sweep for our party, the All Progressives Congress. All three seats in the Senate and all six in the House of Representatives were won by our party.
“The match between our party and the PDP ended 10-0 (1 President, 3-0 Senatorial, 6-0 House of Reps).
“With the outcome of last Saturday’s elections, I can now conveniently say that Kwara is Free! Free from a choking and pauperising political hegemony of a self-imposed dynasty!
“Never again will Kwarans be treated like slaves in their own land. Enough is Enough. O To Ge!” he emphasised.
The minister continued, “I want to ask the incoming governor of our state to, immediately he is sworn in on 29 May, 2019, declare February 23rd of every year as the Day of Liberation for Kwara State.”
Alhaji Mohammed noted that the victory of APC in the election should go to the people of the state who resoundly said no to the PDP last Saturday .
He recalled that the freedom of the state started on November 17,2018 When APC won the by-election for the Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero federal constituency adding, “it was the beginning of the crumbling of the Berlin Wall of Kwara Politics.
“Today, the Berlin Wall of Kwara Politics has fallen. The chain has been broken. The good
people of Kwara have ensured that,” he said.
The minister noted, “The victory in Kwara was achieved in the sweetest way. The election was conducted in an atmosphere of peace and security.
“Not a single shot was fired throughout Kwara. No one snatched ballot box. It was an atmosphere of conviviality. It was a sharp departure from what used to be in the state.
“It confirms what we have been saying, that when there is adequate security, there will be a level playing ground for all the parties, and for all Kwarans.”

PDP Rejects Presidential Election Results
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has rejected the results of last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC
The PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus who just addressed a press conference in Abuja, described the figures being announced by INEC as incorrect and totally unacceptable. Read his FULL STATEMENT below...
Our Democracy in Under Threat
Protocols:
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is forced to take a stand and make the following pronouncements at this crucial point because our democracy is under threat of derailment.
Firstly, I want to categorically state that our collation centers have all original results from every polling unit, in every ward, in every Local Government Area (LGA) in Nigeria, of which the international community is well aware, implying all results currently being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is incorrect thus unacceptable to our party and people.
Secondly, officials of both President Buharis government and the All Progressive Congress (APC), working with INEC officers, have tried to alter the course of history and disenfranchise our people through the cancellation and manipulation of figures for results already announced at polling units, nationwide, in Local Government Areas (LGAs) where our party, the PDP, had commanding votes; this must now be resisted by every well meaning Nigerian.
READ: Breaking: PDP rejects Presidential election results
Thirdly, the ruling partys strategy has indeed been murderous, undignified, and disrespectful of the wishes of the electorate, our people and the international community who have been in solidarity with our nation as we attempt to strengthen our democracy and its institutions.
Fourthly, in full view of the watching world, and despite efforts by our great party and its agents to adhere to every laid down provision for the 2019 general elections, the APC in collusion with INEC have taken aggressive steps, mostly through inducements, manipulation and incarcerations, using the elements of state power including the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army in particular, alongside other organizations including the Department of State Security (DSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to silence the voices of our long suffering people; this is disheartening, considering the terms of the Peace Accord, which called for impartiality and non-partisanship by members of our security organization with constitutional roles to play during this civic exercise.
Fifthly, as results trickled in on the Sunday, February 24th, 2019, clearly putting the PDP in the lead, the ruling party and President Buhari dispatched high-ranking officials to coercively influence outcomes in different geopolitical zones in the country. For example:
The minister of the interior, was dispatched to the North West of the country
The Secretary of the Government of the Federation was dispatched to the North East of the country; while the
The Attorney General and Minister were dispatched to the South East and South-South regions.
7. With the INEC IT server hacked by agents of the APC to manipulate results, we can with certainty state that results from the following polling units have, for example, been tampered with, note:
Sarkin Dawaki ward in Doma LGA Nassarawa state
Doka ward in Doma LGA Nassarawa state
Agyaragin Tofa ward
10, 000 illegal votes added to already announced results in Wurno LGA in Sokoto state
Additionally, violent and destructive attacks have been meted out to officials while counting at Lafia St. and police barracks polling units.
8. As if these provocations are not enough, our agents and officials are constantly arrested and in many cases locked-up for complaining that Card Readers were not in use in many Northern states, implying that all results from the Northern part of the country where Card Readers were not used should be voided in accordance with INEC guidelines.
9. I also believe, the arrest of Eng. Buba Galadima, who has been a great symbol of what is courageous about our people goes to show that one mans ambition is greater than our collective good, and most probably worth the blood of all Nigerians.
10. In that context, I call for Buba Galadimas immediate and unconditional release, as well as that of all officials and agents of the PDP, in the Southwest, who were mostly arrested on the eve of the elections where intimidation became the APCs sole election strategy.
11. Despite these provocations, intimidation and attempts to hijack our democracy and change the course of history, I must, in fact, convey to our good people the fact that the PDP is on course to victory and the Presidency; therefore, remain resolute and steadfast, because our party shares in your uncertainty and suffering, which must decisively come to a good end for us all.
12. Finally, and once again, we appeal to the leadership of INEC to remain impartial and not become willing agents to disenfranchise our people and derail our democracy, because the world is watching, and history will indeed pass judgment.
In addition, to the international community; we welcome your support for our democracy and extend our gratitude with great hope for our democracy.

No Jokes! This Man Is Named S-x Machine [Photo]
Yes, you read it right, that is the name of this Zimbabwean! Seated close to the entrance of a garage, a young motor mechanic, clad in a greasy work suit, puffed up smoke into the air as he concluded his lunch-hour break.
To passers-by and those unknown to him, he is just a mechanic who works at one of Marondera’s garages, Zimbabwe located in the industrial site. But one cannot believe that he is the man behind such a name.
His first name is “S-x” and to make matters worse, his last name is “Machine”.
According to Machine, he was christened such by his father Paul Machine Mvere.
“That is my name. I cannot deny it. I went to Tapfuma Primary School and Rukweza High and that is the name I used,” he said.
“I know the troubles and implications that come along with it.
“Sometimes I call myself Mike, a name that also belongs to my uncle.
“My father is the best person to explain why he gave me such a name.”
In disbelief, this reporter used the Ecocash platform to further confirm his claims.
Alas the name S-x Machine appeared, but it was truncated. On the Ecocash platform, the man’s name appears as S*x Machine.
“I had to devise means to alter my name so that my clients find it easy and respectable,” he said.
“It was a difficult moment for me to convince the lady who registered me on Ecocash to understand where I was coming from,” he said.
“She couldn’t believe it when she read the name on my ID. I am happy that she assisted me. I had to remove the ‘e’ from my first name to lessen the burden on clients.”
At his workplace, the 31-year-old is either called Machine or Mike, while those who are mischievous just shout out, S-x.
Is his name, therefore, prophetic to his conduct and behaviour?
“Not now, I am now a mature person. I am no longer a s-x machine. But during my early youth days, everything was possible,” he said.
Machine is a married man and a father of one.
He also hinted that his father calls him both as Mike and S-x, depending on location and surroundings.

Esther Ajayi Donates N10m For Baba Suwe’s Treatment
Popular cleric, Rev. (Mrs.) Esther Ajayi has donated the sum of N10million to Baba Suwe, she donated the sum today, Monday, 25th of February, 2019 to support the millions Nigerians have donated to him to help him get further treatment overseas. At the moment, Baba Suwe is at LUTH hospital, where FG gave an order that he should be treated. But from the words of Yomi Fabiyi, who was once Baba Suwe’s personal assistant and now in charge of feeding Nigerians with his news, Baba Suwe will soon be flown abroad.
Yomi broke the news—well in his alarming way (lol) saying;
BREAKING NEWS: BABA SUWE TREATMENT ABROAD:
Yesterday Sunday, 24th Feb, 2019 Mayor Gbenga Adewusi @bayowagbengaadewusiswagatv visited Baba Suwe on his hospital bed and having been briefed of the current situation, he initiated a SOS to Rev. (Mrs.) Esther
Ajayi @love_of_christ_generation through Bro Biodun Paseda @abbeyway27 to see where the philantrophist can help Baba Suwe.
Immediately she offered to support with TEN MILLION NAIRA(10million naira) and his flight ticket to support whatever Baba Suwe had gathered in order to get thorough medical assistance quickly. She spoke to Baba Suwe and offered him prayers.
And early this Monday morning, she fulfilled her promise(Shai! some rich people don’t know Monday oh 🙈. No Monday excuse, wawu!).
My sense of humour though 😂😂😂. On behalf of Baba Suwe, his family, fans and colleagues, we say a big thank to our mother, Rev. Esther Ajayi for her USUAL KINDNESS, may you never fall. This will go a long way.
We shall loose no time to facilitate the trip abroad at the instance of Medical experts in LUTH working tenaciously on getting Baba Suwe a huge recovery to enable him fly for that long haul with little or no risk.
Many thanks and God bless.

Saraki’s Defeat: PDP Agent Refuses To Sign Election Results Sheets
The Peoples Democratic Party’s agent at the collation centre for the Kwara Central Senatorial District, Hon. Isiaka Magaji, has rejected the results of the election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Magaji refused to sign the result sheet at the collation centre situated inside INEC’s office, Ilorin.
He said, “The report that I got from our agents in the four local government areas that made up Kwara central said there was massive electoral fraud in some polling units, especially in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
The PDP agent later presented a protest letter to the returning officer for the election, Prof. Olawale Olatubosun.
Olatubosun, however, refused to accept the letter from Magaji, saying, “I lack jurisdiction to receive such letter.”
The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, was the PDP candidate for the Kwara Central Senatorial District in last Saturday’s election.

He said: “Initially, when the suspect was arrested by policemen from Bariga Division, he denied the allegation.
He said how can he sleep with her wife’s cousin? But when the girl was brought before him, it was then he opened up that he only slept with her thrice.
“When the girl was taken to the hospital, it was confirmed she was defiled and she had also being infected with Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and her bladder had been ruptured which made her to be bedwetting whenever she sleeps.” Some of the friends of the Islamic cleric berated him but were said to have pleaded with the DPO to pardon him.
His wife also reportedly begged for mercy, saying that they would go home and resolve it amicably. But the DPO was said told the suspect’s wife and friends that there was nothing he could do. According to the DPO, the matter is a state case which no one should toy with.
