It’s Shameful Politicians Are Celebrating Election Marred With Rigging - Oyedepo

Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo has spoken about the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly elections held across the country penultimate week.

According to him, it was shameful that politicians were celebrating an election that was marred with widespread rigging.

Addressing his congregants on Sunday at the Church headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, the Bishop mocked the irregularities that riddled the exercise in some polling units.

However, he prayed Nigeria would not experience another war as a result of the remaining elections.

Oyedepo said: “Other developed countries around the world had developed their mode of voting into a digital method.

“But it’s a shame that in Nigeria, we still queue up to vote, and somebody would still be intimidated by thugs.

“With these, it’s a shame how politicians in this part of the world are proud of elections marred with rigging.

“In Covenant University, any student caught indulging in examination malpractice, is gone. It does not matter if his or her father is the head of United Nations or not.”

Esther Ijewere Writes On How Lady She Connected To A First Lady Turned Around To Betray Her

Nigerian author, advocate, women and girl child's rights activist, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye has taking to Facebook to write about how she helped a lady get connected to a certain First Lady in Nigeria and when it was time to include her (Esther) in the business, the lady kicked telling the First Lady, Esther shouldn’t be included. According to Esther, this has been a burden on her mind and she just as to let it go somehow, hence the spill! The story….

I have been having "Shoulda woulda" moment over these issues and I honestly need to put it out to let it off my mind.

A while back, I featured a wonderful sister on Women of Rubies whose project and tenacity caught my attention online, Posted her story everywhere personally aside from our page to support her in my usual form. Then last month the First lady of a notable state in Nigeria who use A cover up name on LinkedIn and has been following me for quite sometime and seen the sister's story reached out and asked for her contact , the State wanted her to handle a community project in line with her area of focus, I gave her the number and kindly asked not to be mentioned when they contact the sister. I honestly didn't want to be in the Picture.

To my surprise, the First lady reached out last week and told me she wasn't going along with the sister again and I asked why, According to her they flew the sister in from Lagos to come pitch her plan to her and the Governor and then move on to next steps, during the course of the meeting the First lady talked about some "women" media outfits she would love the Post-event photos to be published and the moment she said "Women of Rubies", the sister said "No" they should take us out with some unpleasant things. The First lady said she was shocked and that really put her and the rest of her team off immediately but she didn't say anything in front of her husband till they finished the meeting and told her I had spoken highly of her and gave her contact but she was highly disappointed Aunty didn't want us to be listed for media publicity.

Anyway, they didn't give her the project and Aunty sent me an epistle on Saturday begging me to talk to "Madam", I told her it's beyond me, which is the truth because everyone on "Madam's team said NO. She blocked me everywhere afterwards, That's okay. We react to things differently, I have not wronged her in anyway.

I am sharing this to show how people can be quick to pull out the seat from under you when you are trying to hold their own so they won't fall. Also, because we share some mutual friends and she could go and sell her own version to them.

It's not my joy to see her miss such an opportunity, I hate to see people sad or face disappointment at the edge of their breakthrough but this isn't on me and God sees my conscience.

When I support people I expect NOTHING in return but don't try to make me sink, I am a praying woman and I go to bed every night with a clear conscience.

Let's be guided in all our dealings in life. Let's truly support each other sisters. If I adjust your crown, don't make mine fall.

Happy Monday...

There May Be No Elections In 2023- Secondus

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, during his speech at the opening session of the caucus meeting of the party in Abuja, raised the alarm that there might be no election in 2023 if the military continued to participate during elections as they were allegedly used during the February 23 elections.

He stated that the alleged involvement of the military in the elections was undemocratic and unconstitutional.

He said they were committed to going to the tribunal, adding that they might file the case on Tuesday.

According to him, it is surprising that the National Peace Committee had allegedly kept silence over the alleged intimidation and harassment of Atiku, his acquaintances and some PDP stalwarts.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that Saturday’s elections were free, fair, transparent and credible.

Secondus said, “On February 23, 2019, how will history judge you (Buhari)? How will the next generation judge you? In fact, there may not be election in 2023, it may just be announcement because if you have the military on your side, you do not need the people, you do not need to campaign. All you need to do is to put the figure on election day and announce. Is that what is going to happen again on March 9?”

The PDP chairman urged the military to remain professional in the discharge of their duties, adding that they must not allow themselves to be used by politicians.

If Not For God's Mercies, I Would Have Been Dead - Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has said that he would have been dead if not for God’s mercies.

Speaking over the weekend at the Redemption Camp in Lagos as he marked his 77th birthday, the revered cleric said: “But for God, I won’t be alive today. But for God, this would have been a memorial service.

While urging the people to help him chant hallelujah, he said there is no need for them to find out the details, but to keep praising God.

“It is not all testimonies you can share in public. You share some of them, people would wonder.

“I remember telling some of my children some moments ago that a certain General Overseer visited me not too long ago and he began to share all that God had done in his ministry and I kept on saying ‘wonderful, praise God, Glory be to God.’

“After about one hour, he said; ‘Daddy, I am the only one talking, you have not said anything. And I told him, Sir, if I tell you everything God has been doing for me, you will say God is partial. And that’s why some of us can’t say it all.

“You have to keep some of them. But there is one particular point that I must make this morning, I won’t give you the details, but for God, I won’t be alive today.

“This would have been a memorial service. But for God! Will somebody help me shout Hallelujah.”

If You're Celebrating APC Victory You're Celebrating Criminality - PDP Declares

The leadership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says those celebrating the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential election are celebrating criminality.

The party's chairman, Uche Secondus said this on Monday while addressing party members at the expanded caucus meeting in Abuja. He noted that the party had finalised plans to go to court over the outcome of the election and that proceedings will commence immediately.

Speaking further, he also took a swipe at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, saying they were compromised during the elections.

On the reports given by international observers, the party chairman alleged that they had been threatened by the government, hence their favourable reports.

Meanwhile, the party has demanded the immediate release of Atiku’s son-in-law and lawyer, saying they are being held for no reason by a government that has no respect for the Rule of Law.

Female Lawyer Killed By Cook In Lagos Hotel... suspect nabbed

The police in Lagos have arrested a chef identified as Joshua Usulor for allegedly killing a female lawyer Feyitayo Obot, 34, inside a hotel at Opebi area of Ikeja, Lagos.

Usulor, 21, was said to have been arrested on February 28, at his hideout in Victoria Island a month after he committed the alleged offence.

According to a statement released on Monday evening by police spokesman CSP Chike Oti, the suspect sneaked into the victim’s room, stabbed her and slit her throat.

Oti said police investigation showed Usulor had sneaked into the woman’s room in a bid to rob her but she caught and resisted him. After ensuring that the woman was dead, Usulor, the police said, stole her N26,000 and mobile phone before fleeing the room.

He said homicide detectives were deployed to the hotel after the command received report about a murder in the premises, adding that they collected important exhibits for forensic analysis.

“The body, which had multiple stab wounds on the abdominal region and a throat slit open with a sharp object, was recovered for autopsy. The autopsy result revealed that the victim died as a result of Exsanguination (excessive loss of blood), disruption of the left jugular vein and sharp force trauma.”

Although the suspect absconded after committing the crime, he said Police Commissioner Zubairu Muazu directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation And Intelligence Department (SCIID ), Yetunde Longe to fish out and prosecute the culprit.

“Painstaking investigation led to the arrest of the suspect, one Joshua Usulor, on February 28, at his hideout in Victoria Island Lagos.

“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime. He said he never knew the victim before and only wanted to rob her to offset his own hotel bills because he had spent two days above what he paid for.

“To execute his plans undetected, he claimed he sneaked into the deceased’s room to steal her money and her phones but she struggled with him. He overpowered her and then stabbed her with a sharp knife on the stomach.

“He used the same knife to slit her throat. Satisfied that the woman was dead, he made away with her phones and a cash sum of N26,000 only.

Investigation revealed that the deceased was a lawyer who came to Lagos for a business meeting and lodged in a hotel at Opebi, Ikeja,” Oti said.

According to him, the suspect would be charged to court for murder while the casefile would be duplicated and sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

Why We Arrested Atiku's Son-in-law - EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it arrested Babalele Abdullahi, son-in-law of PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar over alleged money laundering.

Abdullahi is also the finance director of Atiku’s group of companies.

Tony Orilade, acting spokesman of EFCC, told NAN that Abdullahi is in the commission’s custody.

“We are investigating a case of money laundering against Abdullahi. We shall speak at the appropriate time,” Orilade said. He declined to disclose the figure involved in the laundering allegation against Abdullahi, but NAN said its investigation revealed that it was about 150 million Euros.

A few days ago, Atiku raised the alarm over the arrest of Abdullahi.

In a statement by Paul Ibe, his media aide, Atiku said EFCC operatives invaded Abdullahi’s residence in a “desperate move” to make him concede and congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, whom he lost the election to.

“The EFCC agents numbering about two dozen came in two regular vehicles, an 18-seater Toyota bus with registration number Abuja CS 522 RSH and a Hilux van,” the statement read.

“They came with a warrant to search the house and office of Abdullahi and found nothing incriminating. They then proceeded to his office at Oakland Centre in Maitama and found nothing incriminating there.

“However, they took away some documents of landed property. Not done, the EFCC officials stormed his Wuse residence where they again found nothing incriminating after searching. Afterwards, Abdullahi was taken away to the EFCC office in Wuse to make a statement.”

LOL! APC Woman Ban Oshiomhole From Entering Imo State

All Progressives Congress women leaders in Imo state have banned the party's National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole, from entering their state. This is following the decision of the National Working Committee of the APC led by Oshiomhole to suspend their state governor, Rochas Okorocha, for anti-party activities.

In a statement released over the weekend, the women leader, Theresa Ohanuha, warned Oshiomhole not to enter the state. According to the women, Oshiomhole's actions are some of the reasons Imo State experienced low turnout in the presidential election.

They called on President Buhari to call Oshiomhole to order. “These actions of Oshiomhole negatively affected the outcome of the recent presidential election in Imo. The suspension of the Imo West senator-elect, Governor Rochas Okorocha, on the basis of anti-party activities is unacceptable. We are sure that Mr. President is not aware of these events. We, the APC women in Imo State, respectfully appeal to Mr. President to call Oshiomhole to order.”

With Military APC Feels They Don't Need The People - PDP

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of not needing Nigerians because they have the military might in a democracy.

Prince Secondus said that the value of Nigerians in a democracy has been diminished because President Muhammadu Buhari and his ruling APC have chosen to use the military to get what Nigerian voters refused to give them.

The National Chairman who spoke while declaring open the expanded caucus meeting of the party at its Wadata Plaza headquarters on Monday, said that what obtains in the country today as witnessed on February 23, Presidential and National Assembly election is a full blown dictatorship.

He said in a statement from his media office that after using the military to kill and maim citizens of the South South region, and further suppress the people from exercising their civic duties, APC in connivance with officials of the independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and security agencies went ahead to manipulate the result of the voters.

Prince Secondus who berated the administration for their various electoral criminalities, called for immediate and unconditional release from incarceration, the two personal staff of the PDP , Presidential flag bearer Barr Uyi Giwa Osagie his lawyer and Alhaji Abdullahi Babalele his son- in-law who he called political prisoners.

The National Chairman wondered why Nigerian leaders are keeping quiet in the face of blatant abuse of human rights and electoral brigandage.

He reminded the Chairman of INEC Prof Mahmood Yakubu and members of the Electoral Commission as well as operatives of the military that are making themselves willing tools for APC that history is recording their activities and at the appropriate time they will answer for their deeds.

The PDP boss admonished both operatives of INEC and security agencies to be professional and leave politics for politicians.

The National Chairman charged members of the party across the country to stay strong pointing out that the stolen mandate must be returned to the party as there is no going back on the resolve to seek justice in the court.

Prince Secondus also spoke on the situation in Lagos state where PDP supporters were stopped from voting on February 23 Presidential poll and plans are still on to repeat the same obnoxious act on Saturday during the gubernatorial elections.
