Shock As Landlady Beats Tenant To Death In Lagos For Giving Her Child Food

A Yaba chief magistrate court in Lagos on Monday ordered that a 40-year-old landlady, accused of killing her tenant, be remanded in Ikoyi Prison, pending legal advice from the State Directorate of the Public Prosecution (DPP), NAN reports.

The woman, Yinka Martins, is charged with two counts of conspiracy and murder.

Chief Magistrate Oluwatoyin Oghere, who gave the order, adjourned the case until April 10.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 13, at 11.30 p.m. at No. 6, Odunsi St., Bariga, Lagos.

She alleged that the deceased, Mrs Mojisola Idayat, who was a tenant to the defendant, had given the landlady’s son, who was ill, some food to eat so that he could take his medication.

Olaluwoye said that the defendant later accused the deceased of giving her son leftover food to eat which resulted in an argument.

“My Lord, the defendant killed her tenant for giving her ill son food to eat. She beat the deceased to death with a plank, accusing her of giving her son leftover food. The defendant’s other tenants were present at the time of the incident and we intend to call them as our witnesses.”

Female Teacher Accused of Stealing Donald Duke's Wife Money Shed Tears As Court Frees Her

The wife of the former governor of Cross River State, Onari Duke, on Monday, lost her bid to send the former Vice-Principal of the American International School, Lagos, Ebele Mbanugo, to prison for allegedly stealing $110,267.57 from her non-governmental organisation.

The prosecutor, K. O. Sarumi, had accused Mbanugo of
defrauding Onari’s NGO, the Child Survival and Development Organisation of Nigeria, of the fund between September 2009 and October 2011.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja acquitted and discharged Mbanugo of the three counts of stealing and fraudulent conversion that were preferred against her.

The prosecutor had alleged that the defendant misappropriated the money raised for the purpose of purchasing mammogram machines for the detection of breast cancer.

Mbanugo, however, during her testimony before the court, denied the allegations. She said that in 2009, she had established an NGO called the Run for Cure Africa Breast Cancer Foundation to raise funds to purchase mammogram machines.

She said she got acquainted with Onari because she taught her daughter at the AISL and had approached the former Cross River first lady to use her influence to help with fundraising for the foundation.

Mbanugo added that various Run for Cure Africa fundraising races were held on the premises of the AISL from 2009 to 2011, with dignitaries such as Onari; wife of the former governor of Lagos, Abimbola Fashola; and various consul-generals in attendance.

The former AISL vice principal had told the court that Onari had received a cheque of N7.4m from the funds raised.

She added that three mammogram machines bought were donated to the Calabar Women and Children’s Hospital, Lagos University Teaching Hospital and a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

She, however, noted that a dispute arose between her and Onari over the ownership of the initiative, leading to the criminal suit filed in court against her.

Delivering judgment on Monday, Justice Taiwo held that the prosecution failed to prove that Mbanugo stole the money.

She noted that the criminal suit stemmed from a “serious and disruptive rivalry” between the defendant and Onari on the ownership of the fundraising initiative.

Justice Taiwo said, “The prosecution failed to prove that the money misappropriated belonged to Mrs Duke. Mrs Duke was not called to testify in this case.

“The testimony of the defendant showed how three mammogram machines were bought from General Electric for $133,000, which is a sum higher than the sum allegedly misappropriated by the defendant.
“The prosecution failed to prove the source of the funds or that the defendant fraudulently converted them to her own use.

“The defendant had shown various brochures, pictures and documents highlighting her passion for fighting breast cancer as her mother and two aunts were diagnosed with the disease and she had said how early detection saved her mother.

“It is unfortunate that such a laudable initiative could be marred by conflict between Mrs Duke and the defendant over the ownership of the foundation. The defendant is hereby acquitted and discharged.”

Upon hearing the court’s verdict, a visibly shaken Mbanugo burst into tears while thanking God.

Woman Gives Birth To Triplets After Losing Two Children To Kidnappers

More than two years after losing two children to suspected kidnappers, joy has returned to the family of Fatai and Suliat Azeez, who have welcomed a set of triplets at their home on Aiyepe Avenue in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos State.

A crowd of residents and well-wishers thronged the house, on Monday, to catch a glimpse of the babies.

The newborns, two girls and a boy, were given birth to on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

In November 2016, Suliat, who had a hairdressing workshop in the Okokomaiko area, had taken a new apprentice, who gave her name as Grace.

Grace, whose real name is Gladys Austin, had been asked to resume after promising to bring a guarantor the following day.

However, she was said to have tricked Suliat’s two children, Kafayat (six) and Farouk (four), and allegedly disappeared with them that same day.

Efforts by the family to locate the children had proved abortive.

However, in March 2017, the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad for selling another child, identified as Oluwasemilore, to a ring of syndicates in Anambra, Abia and Enugu states.

Grace had been identified by Suliat and her neighbours during an identification parade by the police as the apprentice, who allegedly stole her children.

The suspect, however, denied abducting Suliat’s children, insisting that she did not know their whereabouts.

Frustrated, Suliat was said to have locked herself in the house and took a local insecticide, Sniper.

Despite being rescued, she attempted suicide a second time.

She was, however, resuscitated and taken to her village near Ibadan, Oyo State, for medical attention.

The woman, again, attempted suicide in her village but was rescued.

Suliat told Punch Metro that she spent seven months in the village to recover from the shock of the missing kids before returning to Lagos.

The 35-year-old, who spoke to a Punch correspondent while tending to one of the newborn babies, said her family went through hell during the period.

She said she burst into tears of joy when she was told that she had been delivered of the triplets.

Suliat stated, “When the two children were kidnapped, we went to the SARS in Ikeja many times without any result. We also reported at the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan. We did everything we were asked to do. The police later asked us to return that they had found the suspect; we also identified her. They kept pushing us back and forth. They collected N50,000 from my husband. Later, they said the case file was missing. We spent a lot of money.

“I thought it was all over for me. I thought that I had no reason to live again since the children, who should be my future, were no more.

“That was why I took Sniper. But because God said it was not over for me and my time to die had not come, I did not die.

“When I returned from the village in January, I was advised to go back to my shop to reduce my worry. But by the time I returned, the landlord started making trouble with me. He gave me quit notice and even beat me up.

“We were recovering from that when we got information that our landlord had sold the house we were staying and we had just renewed our rent. It appeared that we would be homeless until my husband got this small place we are now managing.

“As you can see, everywhere is empty. We have sold all our property, including land, during this period. But God decided to surprise me.”

Suliat said she did not know that she would be delivered of triplets until she got to the labour room.

She added, “After I was delivered of the first child, we expected the placenta to come out. But I was told that it was another baby. And while we expected another placenta, they told me that it was another baby again. When the nurses announced that I had had three children, tears of joy rolled down my cheeks. My husband also started crying.

“I still have the hope that God will complete my joy by returning my lost children. I solicit the prayers of Nigerians that wherever my children may be, they will be found.”

Pretty Sad! Nigerian Uber Driver Stabbed To Death In New York...

A Nigerian man has been fatally stabbed inside his car in New York, USA on Saturday night. The Uber driver, identified by the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers, as Ganiyu Gandonu, 27, from Ogun State, was found bleeding from his neck and torso inside his Toyota Camry around 9:10 p.m. along the Hutchinson River Parkway East in Baychester, cops said.

Investigators are yet to announce a motive or identify a suspect, but, on Sunday night, police released new surveillance video of a person of interest wanted in the fatal stabbing.

Police said the video shows a man dressed in all dark clothing. The suspect ran off from the scene. Ganiyu was found stabbed in the neck and chest in his car. He later died at Jacobi Medical Center.

HIV+ Man In Britain Becomes 2nd Known Adult Worldwide To Be Cleared Of AIDS Virus

An HIV-positive man in Britain has become the second known adult worldwide to be cleared of the AIDS virus after he received a bone marrow transplant from an HIV resistant donor, his doctors said.

Almost three years after receiving bone marrow stem cells from a donor with a rare genetic mutation that resists HIV infection and more than 18 months after coming off antiretroviral drugs - highly sensitive tests still show no trace of the man’s previous HIV infection.

“There is no virus there that we can measure. We can’t detect anything,” said Ravindra Gupta, a professor and HIV biologist who co-led a team of doctors treating the man.

The case is a proof of the concept that scientists will one day be able to end AIDS, the doctors said, but does not mean a cure for HIV has been found.

Gupta described his patient as “functionally cured” and “in remission”, but cautioned: “It’s too early to say he’s cured.”

The man is being called “the London patient”, in part because his case is similar to the first known case of a functional cure of HIV - in an American man, Timothy Brown, who became known as the

Berlin patient when he underwent similar treatment in Germany in 2007 which also cleared his HIV.

Brown, who had been living in Berlin, has since moved to the United States and, according to HIV experts, is still HIV-free.

Some 37 million people worldwide are currently infected with HIV and the AIDS pandemic has killed around 35 million people worldwide since it began in the 1980s.

INEC Robbed APC, Akpabio Of Victory- Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday alleged that the votes of the people of Akwa Ibom State were stolen during the recent presidential and National Assembly elections, vowing that they would be reclaimed through proper channel.

Speaking yesterday through the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at a town hall meeting held by the elders and stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Uyo, the state capital, the president called on the electorate in the state to defend their votes during Saturday’s governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.

Buhari said it was doubtful that the former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio lost the election, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) robbed Akpabio and the APC of victory at the polls.

He maintained that all the wrongs done during the presidential and National Assembly elections would be addressed through proper channel.

“What happened on February 23 was robbery. The votes of the people were stolen but we are not deterred. The president sent me to thank you today. We are going to make sure that everything that was stolen on the February 23 would be restored.

“It is not possible that Senator Godswill Akpabio lost. We are in no doubt that Senator Akpabio is the elected senator of Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district. I and Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the party have been in the opposition for long and we cannot be defeated anymore. “Everyone of you should go out to vote on Saturday and defend your votes; we cannot be cheated; not only you but tell your neighbours to vote for Obong Nsima Ekere and all APC candidates. Wait for your votes to be counted. It is the duty of the federal government to provide security and we will do that. We will recover every one of our votes.

Wendy Williams Addresses Husband's Cheating Rumors During Emotional Return To TV

After two months without its titular host, Wendy Williams made her highly anticipated return to her daytime talk show on Monday. There was no shortage of applause from her enthusiastic audience as the Hollywood hot topics maven stepped out onto her stage, donning a black zip-up and skirt ensemble with sneakers and a blond bob hairstyle.

The host was visibly emotional as she greeted her audience, taking a few deep breaths and fighting back tears as she clenched her hands together. After attendees cheered her on, Williams took a seat because, as she acknowledged, "apparently I'm a hot topic!"

"Thank you, I missed you, too Look, honestly, I didn't know what to expect when I hit the block today. I didn't know whether you would wait for me, whether you would understand. I had no idea what to expect. Thank you so much for waiting for us," she told viewers graciously.

Williams then addressed her absence by chronicling her medical issues. "What had happened was we were supposed to only be off for two weeks for Christmas vacation and towards the end of the weeks, I started to feel thyroid-ish. They're still adjusting my meds. If you don't know about thyroid disease, it's a lifetime thing and they are always adjusting and always doing stuff and it can really screw you over. They are adjusting my thyroid meds, and then the eyeballs attached to the thyroid, which is my Graves' disease," she said.

"I always have equilibrium thing with my vertigo and a million other things. And I'm the kind of patient—if I cough, I'm thinking I'm dying. I've gotten to that point. I love—I can't even tell you how many doctors I have, but I want to shout out to each and every one of you. Thank you so much. They push me in there, I get the MRIs and then I get the CAT scans and then they get me running on the treadmill and they're doing my blood pressure at the same time as my phone is calling from people on the show."

Ultimately, "I'm happy to tell you that I am doing swell," she concluded, noting that she's meditating, taking her medication and exercising for two hours a day, seven days a week.

"Believe me you. I don't know how this outfit is reading on TV, but mother has not gained a pound," the candid star noted.

She also explained that she was spending time with her family and wanted to take some time for herself.

Further into the show, Williams also addressed the ongoing rumors about her husband, Kevin Hunter, and the state of their marriage as claims of him cheating have swirled.

"I want to shout out to my husband. I'm still wearing my ring," she pointed out. "Believe me you, when you've been with somebody for 28 years...married for 25 years...we know each other. He's my best friend, he's my lover, he's all this and he's all that. I know what you've been seeing and I know what the streets have been talking about."

She then pulled up a throwback photo of them together "before any plastic surgery." "Let me show you who I fell in love with and who he fell in love with," she continued. While Williams looked differently from the woman in the photo, "it's still me in the head and I am still very much in love with my husband," the star told viewers.

Ultimately, she put the rumors to rest with one final declaration.

"Anybody who's been married for 5 minutes or 500 years, you know marriages have ebbs and flows. Marriages are not easy. Don't ask me about mine until you see this [ring] gone and it ain't going anywhere—not in this lifetime."

PDP Petitions UN, Others Over Military, Killings In The Election

The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday said it would petition the United Nations and other global democratic institutions on the role of the military and the killings of Nigerians during the Presidential and National Assembly elections on February 23.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, who briefed the media after the party’s expanded caucus meeting in Abuja, also said the caucus commended Nigerians for coming out to vote during the elections.

He insisted that Atiku Abubakar's mandate was “stolen.”

He stated that the caucus resolved to support Atiku and the PDP in their resolve to contest the declaration of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, President Muhammadu Buhari, by the Independent National Electoral Commission as the winner of the election at the tribunal.

Ologbondiyan said, “Caucus commended Nigerians for refusing the harassment, intimidation and militarisation of the electoral process and participating in the elections but noted that the mandate that was freely given to our candidate was stolen and as such the party and the candidate jointly resolved to go to the tribunal and to see it through to the end of what is permissible within our legal system to get back our mandate on behalf of Nigerians.

“Caucus further noted the role of the military in the February 23 elections and resolved that we will report the action of the military through a petition to the United Nations as well as other global democratic institutions on the role of our military in the February 23 elections.

“Caucus also reviewed the situation in Kano State particularly as it concerned the court decision that the PDP should organise a fresh rerun for its governorship candidate and noted that an appeal had been filed against the judgement and we will continue to study and follow the situation as they arise.”

He also alleged that the Buhari presidency and the APC had been intimidating Atiku, his acquaintances and personal lawyer.

Ologbondiyan also said the South-South geopolitical zone had been militarised, adding that the APC was allegedly plotting to rig the governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections.

Ologbondiyan said, “Caucus further raised issues about the harassment, intimidation and the cajoling of our members on the plot by the Buhari presidency as well as the APC to intimidate Atiku and the resolve of the PDP to go to court by insisting, blackmailing and saying that he should not go to court. We insist that our party and our candidate have resolved to seek legal redress on the stolen mandate.”

Asked why the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, and the PDP governors were not at the meeting, Ologbondiyan said they did not shun the meeting but were busy with electioneering for the Saturday’s elections. He added that they sent apologies for their inability to attend the meeting.

Married Man Killed By Policeman On Raid, Wife Shot

The family of Abeeb Dauda, a 20-year-old tiler in the Amukoko area of Lagos State, has been thrown into mourning after he was allegedly shot dead by a policeman attached to the Amukoko Police Division. The alleged killer cop, identified simply as Salako, was also said to have shot Abeeb’s wife, Lateefat, in the chest.

It was learnt that Salako and his colleagues had stormed
Lasisi Street, Amukoko, where the incident happened around 5pm on Sunday, after they received a distress call about a street fight in the area.

The policemen were said to have announced their presence in the neighbourhood with gunshots, which caused confusion among the residents.

In the ensuing panic, Abeeb, a father of two, reportedly rushed to his wife’s shop on the street to assist in packing her wares into the store.

The Punch learnt that as the couple were closing the shop, Salako surfaced, took Abeeb for one of the troublemakers and shot at him and his wife.

The bullet reportedly hit Abeeb in the stomach and ripped out his entrails, while his wife was hit in the chest.

An eyewitness, who gave his name only as Adekunle, said the couple were rushed to two different hospitals, adding that the husband died a few hours later.

He said, “There was a street fight and the Amukoko Police Division was contacted. By the time the policemen came, the fight had stopped and those involved had fled. The policemen started shooting indiscriminately, which made everyone to panic. A woman (Lateefat), who has a provision store on the street, was in the shop when the shooting started.

“Her husband (Abeeb) went there to assist her to pack her wares into the shop. Their two kids were also there. She strapped one of them on her back. As they wanted to leave the shop, one of the policemen called Salako shot at them and fled. The husband died on arrival at the hospital. The woman is responding to treatment. The bullet hit her in the chest. The man was a tiler and everybody knew him to be an easy-going person.”

Another eyewitness, Kehinde Ajibola, explained that residents protested the shooting at the police station, but were chased away. He said Salako was notorious in the area for indiscriminate raids and urged the authorities to bring him to justice.

Ajibola stated, “This was not the first time that policemen would come here to harass innocent residents. They will not come when the thugs are fighting and Salako is usually part of the team.

“We protested at the police station because Abeeb was a decent person. He had his job and was very responsible. It was painful that he died for no just cause. The policeman must be fished out and brought to justice.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, CSP Chike Oti, said there was a fight between two rival cult groups from Lasisi and Whose streets during which members of the two factions shot at each other.

He, however, said the police did not have the record of any fatality as a result of the incident.

Oti stated, “There was a cult war between two rival groups and policemen were called to restore order. The hoodlums were shooting at each other from a distance. The police tried to restore order by firing tear gas at the rampaging youths.

“We were able to restore normalcy and make some arrests. We did not receive any report that somebody was shot. Those hoodlums were shooting at each other. The person could be a victim of the crossfire.”

APC Will Reclaim Its Stolen Votes In Akwa Ibom, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has told members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom that the party’s votes which were stolen during the February 23 presidential/national Assembly elections would be reclaimed.

Buhari gave the assurance on Monday in Uyo during a Town hall meeting to appreciate Akwa Ibom electorates for casting their votes for the (APC) party on February 23.

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who represented the President, encouraged the electorates to defend their votes during the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

He stated that it was not possible for Senator Godswill Akpabio to have lost the elections, adding that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) robbed him and the party of victory and that all the wrongs that were done during the Presidential and National Assembly elections would be addressed.

“What happened on the 23rd of February was robbery. The votes of the people were stolen but we are not deterred. The President sent me to thank you today. We are going to make sure that everything that was stolen on the 23rd of February would be restored.

“It is not possible that Senator Godwill Akpabio lost. We are in no doubt that Senator Akpabio is the elected senator of Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district. I and Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of the party have been in the opposition for long and we cannot be defeated anymore.

“Everyone of you should go out to vote on Saturday and defend your votes, we cannot be cheated; not only you but tell your neighbours to vote for Obong Nsima Ekere and all APC candidates. Wait for your votes to be counted. It is the duty of the Federal government to provide security and we will do that. We will recover every one of our votes.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole said the party was not in the state to lament but to thank the people of the state for doing their jobs and voting President Buhari.

He alleged that INEC colluded with some of the electoral officers to deny the state of its electoral victory on February 23, even though the people voted for the party.

“We have not come here to brag that our mandate was stolen last week. We have come to thank you that you voted for President Buhari, and all members of the party. You did your job but some armed robbers in INEC stole your votes.

“You think that those who stole your votes will have peace? We have come to reaffirm our commitment to democracy. We have come to affirm that no robber will go unpunished but when an electoral umpire is corrupt and collude with the opposition, we have the witnesses and we have lawyers to deal with that.

“On Saturday we are not going to wait for them to steal our votes. We call on Akwa Ibom people to protect their votes. We must maintain our sanity even in this hour of provocation. Those who committed democratic abortion would be brought to book,” he said.

The APC governorship candidate in the State, Nsima Ekere encouraged the people not to be deterred by the February 23 elections but to go out and vote during the March 9 elections, saying the party is sure of victory.

He said the people of the state were in need of change and proved it during his campaigns across the 31 local government areas of the state, and assured the President that after March 9 elections, Akwa Ibom state would not be in the opposition but will be reunited with the centre.

He said, “Thank you for what you are doing for APC. The people voted for you, that vote is a revalidation of what the people want. You put Nigeria’s economy back on track.

“We are here because we have faith in you and Mr President, the opposition and INEC have no choice than to give us back our mandate. Whosoever shall attempt to work against the collective will of Akwa Ibom people, we shall collectively resist.

“We send a message to the electoral umpire and the other party that they must respect the votes of the people, every vote must count. Akwa Ibom people love APC”.

SERIOUSLY? Popular Abuja Pastor Joshua Iginla & Wife Cheat On Themselves

Popular Abuja-based pastor, Joshua Iginla, has admitted that he and his wife, Yemisi, both had children out of wedlock. Iginla, who is the Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, who spoke to his congregation during a Sunday service, said when his wife brought an illegitimate child into their home, he forgave her, but that she refused to forgive him when he had his own child with another woman.

The cleric, in a video that has since gone viral, stated that though he had tried for seven years to “stable the vehicle,” it had resulted in a battle with his family members and disciples.

He told his followers, “I and your mother in the Lord met and we had a wonderful marriage; before we got married, we started by checking our genotypes. She was AA and I was AS. We had our first daughter, a wonderful child, and eventually we discovered she had sickle cell anaemia. I receive healing for people here with sickle cell and God has been doing miracles.

“I saw it as a battle and a challenge for me as your father which is a trial of faith for me; it is not a problem for me. I embraced my daughter and we had a good relationship. I may have been the first man of God to do it in this fashion but that is how I was led to do it. I want you to throw your stones at me, abuse me, insult me and I will take it but I want to stay alive, if not for you, for my destiny.

“We later discovered in the course of time that she (Yemisi) was actually AS and I was AS. No problem. It was not a battle but one thing led to another. What happened was what would make a man divorce his wife scripturally and I had the backing for that. But I had to cover it up to be sure that my marriage moved with your mother and that led to so many things.”

He stated that because he was a man of God, he could not divorce his wife to prevent his followers from saying a man of God had parted ways with his wife.

Iginla said, “So, I chewed it as a pill and so this battle has become a big one which some men of God are taking advantage of, and sons who are under me, who are very bad, have fed on this battle. I have tried for seven years. She brought an unholy child into the marriage which was difficult for me to chew. I don’t want you to judge my wife or anything. I just want you to know.

“We had serious battles here and there; family interventions and everything. We covered it. We would have not got to this point today if my wife had listened to me when we had the battle. I also went to have a child outside wedlock and then it became a battle in the family.”

He asked his congregants to put the blame on him, saying it had become pains for me “because when your wife begins to fight you everywhere and insult you — I have told her ‘don’t fight me, let’s solve this problem in secret and if we cannot solve it, I will come to the world, confess my sins to the world, receive the insults and end this marriage'.”

The cleric added, “And that is what I am doing today because the battle is bad; it has pushed me to this point. I want the world to know; I want you to insult me. This battle didn’t start from Papa. I am not sleeping and then children who don’t know my story are insulting me unnecessarily. I felt I wanted to end the struggle. I want it to be in the media; insult me.

“I knelt down; I begged her but she chose to make me the laughing stock before people and I said the day I come on air and say this to the people, it marks the end of our union. I covered her and I didn’t divorce her, but when mine came, she threw me to the world, calling people to send me pictures.”

Iginla told his congregation that when a father had battles and challenges in life, he needed to confide in his children so that they could pray for him, adding that some children had taken advantage of his challenges and battles.

He, however, said he forgave them and had left them to God to help them not to see what he had gone through in life.

According to Iginla, he is a father who loves his kids and loves everything about his family but when one becomes a leader, a lot of people play politics with one’s life because one is a star.

He added, “Your mama is doing well; she is in America with my children and they are doing well. You need to understand that I bought a duplex worth about $1m for them in America and they attend the best schools in America.

“Assuming I was like some of you, I wouldn’t be under these attacks. So many pastors in Nigeria and outside want to play politics with Joshua Iginla because Joshua Iginla is a big man of God so you hear all manner of talk. It is good. I leave them to God.

“My daughter, Sharon, forgive me but I have to talk because I hardly sleep; my blood pressure is going up and I don’t want to leave this world before my time and I know you know I am a gift to you and the body of Christ.

“It is so painful that when men of God go through strife, you are quick to throw stones at them and abuse them. It is good. We will receive it as our cross because it is part of our battle in life.”

It’s Shameful Politicians Are Celebrating Election Marred With Rigging - Oyedepo

Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo has spoken about the outcome of the presidential and National Assembly elections held across the country penultimate week.

According to him, it was shameful that politicians were celebrating an election that was marred with widespread rigging.

Addressing his congregants on Sunday at the Church headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, the Bishop mocked the irregularities that riddled the exercise in some polling units.

However, he prayed Nigeria would not experience another war as a result of the remaining elections.

Oyedepo said: “Other developed countries around the world had developed their mode of voting into a digital method.

“But it’s a shame that in Nigeria, we still queue up to vote, and somebody would still be intimidated by thugs.

“With these, it’s a shame how politicians in this part of the world are proud of elections marred with rigging.

“In Covenant University, any student caught indulging in examination malpractice, is gone. It does not matter if his or her father is the head of United Nations or not.”

Esther Ijewere Writes On How Lady She Connected To A First Lady Turned Around To Betray Her

Nigerian author, advocate, women and girl child's rights activist, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye has taking to Facebook to write about how she helped a lady get connected to a certain First Lady in Nigeria and when it was time to include her (Esther) in the business, the lady kicked telling the First Lady, Esther shouldn’t be included. According to Esther, this has been a burden on her mind and she just as to let it go somehow, hence the spill! The story….

I have been having "Shoulda woulda" moment over these issues and I honestly need to put it out to let it off my mind.

A while back, I featured a wonderful sister on Women of Rubies whose project and tenacity caught my attention online, Posted her story everywhere personally aside from our page to support her in my usual form. Then last month the First lady of a notable state in Nigeria who use A cover up name on LinkedIn and has been following me for quite sometime and seen the sister's story reached out and asked for her contact , the State wanted her to handle a community project in line with her area of focus, I gave her the number and kindly asked not to be mentioned when they contact the sister. I honestly didn't want to be in the Picture.

To my surprise, the First lady reached out last week and told me she wasn't going along with the sister again and I asked why, According to her they flew the sister in from Lagos to come pitch her plan to her and the Governor and then move on to next steps, during the course of the meeting the First lady talked about some "women" media outfits she would love the Post-event photos to be published and the moment she said "Women of Rubies", the sister said "No" they should take us out with some unpleasant things. The First lady said she was shocked and that really put her and the rest of her team off immediately but she didn't say anything in front of her husband till they finished the meeting and told her I had spoken highly of her and gave her contact but she was highly disappointed Aunty didn't want us to be listed for media publicity.

Anyway, they didn't give her the project and Aunty sent me an epistle on Saturday begging me to talk to "Madam", I told her it's beyond me, which is the truth because everyone on "Madam's team said NO. She blocked me everywhere afterwards, That's okay. We react to things differently, I have not wronged her in anyway.

I am sharing this to show how people can be quick to pull out the seat from under you when you are trying to hold their own so they won't fall. Also, because we share some mutual friends and she could go and sell her own version to them.

It's not my joy to see her miss such an opportunity, I hate to see people sad or face disappointment at the edge of their breakthrough but this isn't on me and God sees my conscience.

When I support people I expect NOTHING in return but don't try to make me sink, I am a praying woman and I go to bed every night with a clear conscience.

Let's be guided in all our dealings in life. Let's truly support each other sisters. If I adjust your crown, don't make mine fall.

Happy Monday...
