The All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential Campaign Council has denied seeking to stop Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential candidate, from going to court to challenge the outcome of the February 23 poll.

It also distanced itself from a group which it calls itself ‘Buhari Campaign Organisation,’ it said has been mounting the campaign on the social media on behalf of the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari, and declared its readiness to meet Atiku in court Director of Strategic Communications, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Festus Keyamo, SAN, in a statement, yesterday, said the group should be ignored because Atiku Abubakar has the constitutional right to seek redress in court.

Titled: ”We do not seek to stop Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from going to court,” the statement read in part: ”Our attention has been drawn to some news item and posts on social media reporting that we wrote a letter to some international bodies to prevail on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar not to proceed to court to challenge the result of the 2019 presidential election.


”Our investigation reveals that a letter to that effect was purportedly written by a certain ‘Buhari Campaign Organisation’. This is the second time we will be informing the public that the said ‘Buhari Campaign Organisation’ does not act at the behest of the APC Presidential Campaign Council nor does it represent the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation in any way. As a result, whatever it has released does not represent the position of the APC Presidential Campaign Council or President Buhari.

Ex-NBA Chairman Arrested For N25m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Yinka Farounbi, the former Chairman of the Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

Farounbi is accused of being involved in allegations bordering on N25million fraud.

He was arrested on Monday by operatives of the anti-graft agency at the NBA Ikeja Bar Centre during the association’s weekly meeting.

Gabriel Opayinka, a lawyer, alongside two others, had petitioned the EFCC on the matter, which eventually led to the arrest.

WAEC Releases 2019 Results

The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has released the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, results for private candidates.

Mr. Olu Adenipekun, head of the Nigeria National Office of WAEC, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos. According to him, 3,102 out of the 12,202 candidates that registered for the examination obtained credit in English language and general Mathematics, as well as in at least four other subjects.

Man Beheads 99 Year-Old Aunt For Losing Lotto

A bizarre incident occurred Monday, in Maraisa Lane community, Igan road, in Ago-Iwoye area of Ogun State, after a 29-year-old man allegedly beheaded his 99-year-old aunt, Ebunola Oroboto, following accusation that she was responsible for his inability to win ‘Baba Ijebu lotto.’

Vanguard gathered that the suspect, Owolabi Adewale, had been accusing the deceased of bewitching him and being the cause of his impoverished state.

Melaye Gets N5m Bail For Attempted Suicide Trial

Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West district, has been granted N5million bail by an Abuja High Court over charges bordering on attempted suicide.

Melaye is standing trial on a six-count charge for attempting to escape from custody and damaging Police property.

The senator has denied committing the offences. Giving the ruling on bail on Tuesday, Justice Silvanus Oriji, who noted that he was aware that the court had granted Melaye bail when he was arraigned before the court went on vacation on July 25, 2018, granted bail in the sum of N5million and two sureties in like sum.


The sureties must be directors in the civil service, reside in Abuja, and depose to affidavits of means.

Dr Alex Izinyon, the prosecuting counsel, alleged that the Senator committed the offences on April 24. 2018, while he was being taken in a Police vehicle to Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Izinyon added that Melaye sat on the ground, and threatened to poison himself, noting that he broke the glass of the vehicle with his elbow and caused damage to Police property.

The offences are said to contravene the provisions of Sections 148, 153, 173, 231, 326 and 327 of the Penal Code.

The trial has been adjourned till April 5, 2019, for hearing.

King Kong Bundy Dead At 61 Hours After Final Twitter Post

WWE legend King Kong Bundy has died aged 61. Bundy, whose real name was Christopher Alan Pallies, fought Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 2.

Bundy had posted a message on social media just hours before his passing.

PDP Storms INEC Headquarters, Protest Result

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stormed the national Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to protest the result of the February 23 presidential election.

Hundreds of party faithful led by the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, arrived at the commission’s premises in Maitama, Abuja on Tuesday singing and dancing to loud music mounted on an open truck.

Their mission was to register their displeasure over the result declared by the commission which they believed did not reflect the will of the people.

The protesters carried banners with various inscriptions condemning the outcome of the election while some called for the release of the actual result which they felt was won by the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar.

Khashoggi's Body Burned In Oven During Cover-Up

Murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi's body may have been burned in a specially-built tandoori oven, just yards from where he was killed, it is claimed.

The large furnace, which could withstand temperatures of more than 1,000C, was constructed weeks before the journalist's death, according to a new documentary.

It was at the home of the Saudi consul-general in Istanbul, just a few hundred yards from the consulate building where Khashoggi, 59, was killed in October last year.

Turkish authorities believe that after he was strangled to death, his body was dismembered with a bone saw and parts were taken to the address and burned.


A large amount of meat was burned in the oven afterwards to cover up what had happened, it is alleged.

The oven was seen burning in the aftermath of Khashoggi's disappearance, and Turkish authorities believe the body was destroyed over three days, an Al Jazeera investigation found.

A worker who helped build the oven said that the Saudi consul gave very specific instructions - saying it needed to be deep and capable of melting metal.

The claims were made in an Al Jazeera documentary screened on Sunday.

The programme also states that Turkish intelligence chief Hakan Fidan, who was investigating the journalist's disappearance, demanded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman explained to him what happened.

Samuel Eto'o Facing Paternity Lawsuit Over 19-Year-Old Girl He Allegedly Fathered

Former Premier League footballer Samuel Eto'o is facing a new court paternity lawsuit over an alleged lovechild.

Adileusa do Rosario Neves, 39, is fighting to have the ex-Chelsea and Everton striker recognised as the father of her 19-year-old daughter, Erika.

Adileusa's lawyer Fernando Osuna confirmed on Tuesday that the hearing would take place at a Madrid court on April 24.

The lawsuit presented by Cape Verde-born Adileusa says she fell pregnant after meeting Eto'o - now playing for Qatar SC - in a nightclub in the Spanish capital in 1997 when he was at Leganes on loan from Real Madrid.


She claims Eto'o, 37, who has six recognised children with four different woman including his wife Georgette, told her he would 'act responsibly' soon after she broke the news but then cut off all contact with her.

Erika was born in November 1999 in a hospital in the Spanish capital.

It was not immediately clear on Tuesday if the Cameroon-born footballer has agreed to a voluntary DNA test.

Adileusa's lawyer Fernando Osuna, who has been fighting to get veteran crooner Julio Iglesias to admit he is the father of a 40-year-old Spaniard, said when he launched his court fight against Eto'o that he would ask for a DNA sample.

Osuna said the court would decide after the hearing whether it agreed to Erika's request for a maintenance allowance as an interim measure while it continues to study the paternity claim.

He said: 'Samuel Eto'o has been summoned to the hearing and it will be open to the press and public.

'It's not yet clear if he will attend as he is abroad. He has been asked to attend by a legal representative he had when he was living in Majorca.

'The judge has allowed official communications to be sent to that person because it would have been impossible otherwise for the court to notify him.

'He has not so far agreed to a voluntary DNA test and I doubt at this stage that he will.

'At the moment our case is based on things like photographs and affidavits from witnesses but a refusal by Eto'o to agree to a voluntary DNA test would go in our favour.

'This process is a long one and it's going to go on after April's hearing, but the decision on a maintenance allowance is a key part of this process and the judge's decision cannot be appealed.

'The paternity claim would continue after the hearing next month.'

Loyal Dog Collapses & Dies After Saving Family From Poisonous Snake

A brave dog collapsed and died after killing a deadly cobra in a desperate bid to save his family from being attacked.

Brave Dalmatian Tyson took on the highly venomous reptile as it tried to slither into their home in Bhubaneswar, east India.

But both animals ended up dead after the snake bite the dog, injecting it with venom as it fought for its life.

The family woke up to the sound of frenzied barking late at night and rushed to find their pet Tyson fighting with the snake.


Before Ameen Sharif and other family members could intervene, Tyson had managed to overpower the deadly snake.
But the family then watched on in shock as the dog immediately fell ill and appeared in distress.

Mr Sharif checked Tyson for snake bites and found blood on the left side of the dog's face.

He called India's snake helpline and sent a video of the cobra to expert Subhendu Mallik, who identified it as an Indian cobra and advised the family to take the dog to the vets immediately.
But no vets could be contacted due to the late hour and Tyson died just 30 minutes later.

The family is now heartbroken after losing their brave pet, which had succeeded in saving their lives.

This marks the first time Meghan and Kate have been pictured together at the same event since attending church together on Christmas Day at Sandringham.

EFCC Releases Atiku’s Son-In-Law

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released Atiku Abubakar’s son-in-law Babalele Abdullahi. Abdullahi, who has been in EFCC custody over allegations of money laundering, was freed by the commission after Tanimu Turaki’s arrest.

Turaki, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), leading the defense team of Atiku and also deputy director-general of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation was invited by the anti-graft agency to sign bail documents for Abdullahi. He was also detained in the process.

PDP, therefore, reacted to Turaki’s arrest as a staged plan by Buhari and his cabal to intimidate the their leaders by using power from above.


Kola Ologbondiyan, the party spokesman, in a statement, said the arrest of Takuri is to scuttle PDP’s fight reclaim February 23, 2019 Presidential election victory in court.

“Since the people’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the PDP expressed our unwavering determination to reclaim our victory at the tribunal, being armed with overwhelming evidence, our leaders have been subjected to escalated harassments, constant threats, blackmails, cajoling and contrivances by the APC to drop our legal option,” Ologbondiyan said.

He further warned the opposition party that no harassment or threat can stop them from taking back the mandate.

“The PDP, however, states in clear terms that the APC and the Buhari Presidency are fighting a lost battle as no amount of harassment and threats will ever make the party to buckle in its determination to take back the mandate, in line with the wishes and aspirations of Nigerians.”

Lol. I wonder why this is an issue. The school should at least make hers FREE. She is a special student. An 80-year-old woman has enrolled for Primary One at Jesus is King Nursery and Primary School in Bugandalo Village, Ibulanku Sub-county in Bugweri District, Uganda with an aim of becoming a teacher.

Ms Maria Obonyo, a farmer, on Monday said after enduring a lot of ‘suffering and ridicule’, she decided to go to school to learn how to speak and write in English.

“I decided to enrol at the school because I lost all my relatives and there was nobody to take care of me. I am determined to study until I graduate from Makerere University as a teacher,” she said.

Should Ms Obonyo complete her school cycle, she will be 96 by then.


Ms Obonyo, however, says she currently faces a myriad of challenges, notably being unable to meet her school fees amounting to Shs35,000 per term.
“I also need a better structure to sleep in because I am currently staying with the village LC1 chairman, Mr Twaha Magero,” she says.

According to Mr Magero, Ms Obonyo’s decision to enrol for Primary One at such an age is an eye-opener to her agemates and those who had dropped out of school to resume.

The director of the school, Ms Stella Tayona, says Ms Obonyo enrolled at her school in Baby Class in 2015 and graduated from Top Class last year.

“She is a hardworking pupil who never misses classes and is social to fellow classmates,” Ms Tayona says, adding that the school currently foots most of her basic scholastic requirements although she is seeking help from well-wishers.
