Jussie Smollett has been hit with an additional 15 counts of filing a false police report by a grand jury and is now facing up to 48 years behind bars.
The Empire actor was initially charged with one Class 4 Felony charge of disorderly conduct last month but a grand jury has applied that charge 15 times over in an 36-page indictment that was returned on Thursday.
Now, he is facing a maximum sentence of 48 years behind bars and fines of up to $400,000.
He is expected to cut a plea deal with authorities, according to experts cited by ABC.
Neither Smollett's legal team nor Cook County prosecutors have commented on the new indictment which was first reported by CWB.
There have been recent reports that Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods are said to be no closer to repairing their friendship.

A pistol wielding robbery gang operating on a motorcycle has mowed down a businessman on the street of Lagos after forcefully taking away the sum of N1.5 million from him.
The killing took place at the FESTAC area of the state penultimate Tuesday at about 11am. Saturday Sun was reliably informed that,the victim identified as Mr. Jumbo Williams Irek, a clearing and forwarding agent in Apapa, was in company of his driver, in his car when the incident happened.
It was learnt that the victim had in company of his driver gone to a new generation bank in the area to make the withdrawal and was returning to their base when they were suddenly blocked by the two gun totting Okada riders who demanded for the money the businessman had gone to withdraw. An argument was said to have ensued between the businessman and the robbers who reportedly released a volley of bullets into his body.
“There was a panic everywhere and people ran helter skelter following the loud boom of gun. There was blood all over as the businessman slumped while the robbers escaped almost immediately from the scence of the shooting incident”, an eyewitness revealed.
Meanwhile, the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Homicide Section, Yaba, Lagos for discreet investigation. At the SCID, the driver had been methodically questioned and the victim’s car impounded.

“It is very true that actresses steal their colleagues’ pants for ritual purposes. I am still in shock right now. I knew about this trend when I was somewhere with some actresses and they were talking about it bitterly.
I thought they were joking till other actresses, who later joined us, also started talking about it and I found out that it began to happen recently. I was surprised.
“The people I spoke to told me that it was just a new thing that started happening and that most actresses were not talking about it so it would not appear as if they were trying to rubbish the industry, but this thing is now becoming rampant.
“They further told me that it was not only upcoming actresses that were doing this but some popular actresses also indulged in this act. Most of these popular actresses are dating all these big ‘yahoo boys’ and they give the pants to their partners. When I heard this, I was shocked, especially as no one is talking about it,” he said.
Shedding more light on how the actresses have allegedly been going about it, the actor said, “The way they do it is that when an upcoming actress meets a popular actress, definitely she would be happy and joyous. When the popular actresses see the excitement in the eyes of these upcoming ones, they take them under their wings, most likely as a personal assistant or ‘younger sister’.
“From there, the upcoming actress would start spending nights in the house of the popular actress and before she knows what is happening, their pants get stolen. I learnt that this is the new tactic of the ‘yahoo boys’ and that is why some of them prefer dating popular actresses because they would be moving with upcoming actresses.
“It is a problem. It is not restricted to popular actresses alone, even the upcoming actresses do this because everyone wants to ‘blow’ (have instant wealth). I learnt that they take the pants to somewhere in Ibadan (in Oyo State) and shortly after, the popular actress would ‘blow’ because they would be getting more money after the rituals.”
He further told Saturday Beats that some brazen actresses would use the pants themselves or only give the ‘yahoo boys’ out of the ones they had stolen.
“However, it is a two-way thing; the brazen actresses could steal three pants and give two of them to their ‘yahoo boyfriends’, while the lily-livered ones would give all the pants to their boyfriends. I was shocked to learn about this but I was told that the story is only within the circle of actresses in Nollywood and it is really going on now,” he said.
It came as a shock to many sometime ago when popular Lagos socialite and entertainer, Pretty Mike, announced on his Instagram handle that he was the proud owner of a s-x doll.
In a chat with Saturday Beats, he revealed that he had since named the doll Amaka, and would prefer if people see the doll as his companion instead of a s-x doll. A New Jersey man, Mr. Mike Weirsky is searching for the person who unknowingly changed his life for good and allowed him to win the Mega Millions jackpot.
He accidentally left his lottery tickets in a convenience store shortly after he purchased them last week. But because of a stranger’s good deed, Mike, who was recently-divorced and unemployed, is now the proud winner of the $273 million jackpot.
The saga unfolded last Thursday when Mike made a stop at a Phillipsburg QuickChek and purchased the Mega Millions lottery ticket, the Associated Press reported.
Distracted by his phone, 54-year-old Mike left the tickets behind and headed on his way. It wasn’t until he had returned home that he noticed the tickets were missing.
“I looked for three hours at home and didn’t even realize going back down Thursday,” he said during a press conference, “but when I woke up Friday, I was like, ‘Welp, just another thing I lost.'”
Though Mike felt hopeless, he returned to the store on March 1 to see if someone had found his missing tickets — and to his surprise, someone did.
After the store properly verified that the tickets were his, Mike claimed them back. “I was very surprised... when they were there, I was just very happy. I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
He didn’t realize he had won the jackpot, however, until two days later when he noticed his numbers matched the winning ones, prompting him to return to the store once again.
It was certainly a close call, as lottery officials explained on Thursday that the person who found the tickets could have held onto them, signed them and claimed the jackpot for themselves.
“I’m looking for the guy that handed them in, I want to thank him,” Mike said, according to AP. “I’m going to give him something, but I’m going to keep that private.”
With his winnings, Mike plans on buying a new pickup truck, a new car for his mother and plans to remodel her home. It also comes at an exceptional time, as Mike was personally struggling without a job and with a divorce.
“It’s gonna change everything because I was unemployed,” he shared. “I recently got divorced in October and I followed her around for 15 years and she worked and I didn’t.”
“I’ve been looking for just about a year for a job that I felt was worth it,” he explained, adding that he hadn’t had a single interview in 18 months. That is until this past Wednesday when he was already a Mega Millions winner.
Now, as he continues to search for the kind stranger, Mike is riding the high from his excitement and looking back on how quickly his life has changed.
“I was down and now all of a sudden, I’m way up,” he said. “I don’t know how much higher I can get!”
Reacting to the good news, his ex-wife Eileen Murray said;
“Think about it. How long did I work? How long did I support him? I had to give him a lot of money in the divorce... You tell me what’s the moral thing to do.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan zonal office, on Friday arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters at Olugun Oluhehu and Elebu areas of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The suspects who are between 21 and 35 years of age are
Prince Tayo Rotimi, Omotomo Oluwarotimi, Abdulakeem Oluwatimilehi, and Kodri Yusuf.
Their arrest followed series of intelligence alleging that they engage in fraudulent activities, especially obtaining money by false pretences from unsuspecting victims through online dating and other illegal means.
At the point of their arrest, EFCC operatives recovered SIM cards, four cars, laptop computers, telephones, fetish objects (juju) and several documents containing false pretences.
CCTV clips have emerged in the social media showing the moment soldiers invaded the residence of the Rivers State Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja.
He and his family members were reportedly arrested by the Nigerian Army 6 Division, Port-Harcourt. According to reports, they were whisked away by a fleet of fierce looking soldiers who stormed his GRA Phase 3 residence at about 2 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

This is serious. A man has regained his freedom after he was arrested following a robbery incident at his house. The man was attacked in his house by armed robbers in Plateau state.
He went to report the incident to police the following day and his statement was taken.
According to reports, the next day after reporting the armed robbery, policemen from the same station arrested him for armed robbery. He was joined to the other two on the alleged offences of armed robbery, homicide and conspiracy.
Sadly, on her way to visit her husband at the prison, leaving their only child behind, the man's wife was knocked down by a vehicle and she died.
According to the executive Director/CEO at Legal Access Foundation, Chidi Dimgba, the Foundation represented him and Abiodun was set free. The other two begged for help, as they were innocent of the allegations but did not have the means to secure the services of a lawyer to represent them.
The Foundation extended its services to them - and they were freed as well.
Pray hard not to get into issues like this in life. The Lagos State High Court on Friday sentenced Lekan Shonde to death by hanging after he was found guilty for the death of his wife, Ronke.
Lekan Shonde, a 51-year-old depot worker in the Apapa area of Lagos, allegedly beat his wife to death at their home in the Egbeda-Idimu area of Lagos State. He denied the allegation.
He was alleged to have locked the door on the corpse and their two children before the incident was discovered by a housekeeper and later reported to the police.
The marriage, which was blessed with two children, aged six and four, was said to have been marred with domestic violence. He accused his late wife, Ronke of sleeping with one Kayode, the general manager of a publishing company.

Justice Mohammed Sanni of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded a suspected fraudster, Oghenekevwe Innocent Akinnawo (a.k.a Rodriguez Filiberto, Richard Welburn and Scott Mendez) in prison custody, following his arraignment on a seven-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of $1,138,000 (One Million One Hundred and Thirty Eight Million Dollars) only.
Akinnawo ran into troubles when he was arrested by
operatives of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Office on alleged fraudulent activities ranging from love scam on numerous dating sites, obtaining money by false pretences and swindling two Americans: Lucille De Mattos and Patricia Hawks on a phony oil shipment deal.
He was docked on the basis of investigation activities that implicated him. The defendant pleaded “not guilty” to the charges when read to him.
Prosecution counsel, A. Arogbha told the court that he was ready for trial and prayed for a trial date. However, defence counsel, Reuben Wanogho made an application for bail but could not be heard because Arogbha told the court that he was served the application late and needed time to respond.
Justice Sanni thereafter adjourned the matter to March 13, 2019 for the hearing of bail application and remanded the suspected Yahoo boy in prison.
The judge also adjourned commencement of trial to April 8 and 11, 2019.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the Accountant-General of Imo State, Uzoho Casmir, for allegedly helping Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to launder N1.05bn for the governorship and assembly elections on Saturday.
The allegations were contained in an EFCC situation report. Okorocha, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress, is supporting his son-in-law, Nwosu of the Action Alliance (AA) against the governorship candidate of the APC, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
The act earned Okorocha a suspension from the party last week.
The EFCC report read in part, “The, EFCC, Enugu Zonal Office, Thursday, March 8, 2019 arrested the Acting Accountant General of Imo State, Mr. Uzoho Casmir, on suspicion of laundering the sum of N1.050bn through a new generation bank for the governor of the state, Rochas Okorocha.
“Uzoho’s arrest followed intelligence report that the governor intended to use the money for vote buying in favour of a particular candidate in tomorrow’s gubernatorial election. Intelligence further revealed that Mr Casmir withdrew the amount in three tranches between Tuesday and Thursday this week in the following order; N200m on Tuesday, N500m on Wednesday and N350m on Thursday.
“Meanwhile, the EFCC has blocked the traced accounts, while the arrested Accountant General has been providing useful information to the commission. Mr Casmir was before his appointment, a Director of Finance in Okorocha’s government and was in 2016 fingered in N2bn bailout fund scam, which was then given to the state by the Federal Government for the payment of salary arrears of civil servants.”

Seems Kelly's time is really up now. NO MORE! The lawyer who represented R. Kelly in a child pornography case 11 years ago has said the singer was guilty of the charges and even needed anti-libido drugs to stem his sexual urges.
'He was guilty as hell,' Ed Genson, 77, declared to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Kelly was found not guilty on all counts of child pornography at the trial in June 2008.
The attorney of 54-years says he doesn't know if the veteran crooner has done anything else 'inappropriate' recently, because of a measure he took after Kelly's 2008 trial.
'I'll tell you a secret,' he said. 'I had him go to a doctors to get shots, libido-killing shots. That's why he didn't get arrested for anything else.'
Genson, who worked for Kelly for more than ten years, says he doesn't feel conflicted for securing the Chicago crooner's acquittal and keeping him out of prison.
'I didn't facilitate him,' he told the paper. 'He had already done what he'd done.'
'I did facilitate him in the sense I kept him out of trouble for 10 years. I was vetting his records. I listened to them, which ones would make a judge mad.'
One of the songs Genson flagged to Kelly was his 2003 hit, 'Ignition', which the former lawyer said raised some serious concerns.
'I was riding in the car, listening to a song and said, ‘Are you crazy? This is all I need,'' Genson said.
Genson recalled how he thought an early demo of the song hinted that Kelly was interested in underage girls.
'It’s a song related to a guy driving around in a car with his girlfriend. It was originally a high school instructor in a class teaching people how to drive a car.
'I changed the words,' he claimed.
Despite his commercial success, Genson - who is suffering from terminal cancer - went on to describe Kelly as 'not a very bright person', and suggested he may have become even more reckless in the years since his first trial.
'What he doesn’t understand is this: If you win a case with somebody, they think they’re bulletproof,' Genson said.
'You’re almost better off, sort of, losing. He thinks he can do whatever the hell he wants. He has done everything he can to hurt himself.'
Adaagbaga Minda, a Nigerian journlist has lost his life just hours after remembering his younger sister who passed on 3 years ago. Adagbaga had mourned her on facebook, but shortly after that, he was involved in an auto accident that took his life.
