It was gathered that at exactly 11:25pm on Friday after rigorous meetings,
Hon. Atidade drove to his father’s residence at Sawmill Allahu Lateef, Ede to meet the extended family members who traveled from far and near for the election, only to park at the gate and get attacked by hired assassins loaded in 2 Space Wagon Cars and a Toyota Hilux.
He was pursued into the bush by the heavily armed gunmen to the extent that his whereabouts was unknown for over 2 hours in the bush.
The politician was eventually rescued following the quick responses from the Nigerian Police, the Night Guards, Vigilantes and some of his supporters.

A local election observer in Umuida community, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze north local government area of Enugu state has been shot dead.
The observer was fatally shot in the head allegedly by a policeman. The ‘accidental discharge’ that led to the death of the yet-to-be identified election observer was confirmed by Ebere Amarizu, spokesman of the Enugu police command to newsmen.

Police in Kano on Saturday intercepted a vehicle loaded with thumb printed ballot papers in Kano metropolis.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted the Police spokesperson, Haruna Abdullahi, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) who confirmed the arrest of the vehicle in an interview in Kano on Saturday.
He said the vehicle was intercepted at Magwan Polling Unit at Magwan Primary School in Nassarawa Local Government area of the state. According to him, the Divisional Police Officer from the local government area who reported the matter was directed to move the vehicle to the police command for further investigations.
He said the vehicle was under the Police custody and investigation had commenced to ascertain the persons behind the act so that they could be prosecuted.
“Yes, it is true a vehicle was intercepted with ballot papers around 12 noon and it is now with the Police at the state CID.
“The investigation will reveal whether the ballot papers are genuine or not,” the Police spokesman said.
Eye witness told the NAN the vehicle, a Sienna Toyota model, with registration number TRN 54 GR, was arrested along with five other occupants.
The eye witness said about 5,000 of the intercepted ballot papers were for governorship election,
while 2,500 were for the state assembly election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Enugu State, Ayogu Eze, a senator, on Saturday boycotted the governorship/state assembly elections in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported Mr Eze told journalists in his country home at Umuozzi in Enugu-Ezike, Igboeze North council of the state he was protesting his non-inclusion among governorship candidates contesting in the state.
Mr Eze despite the Appeal Court’s order to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reinstating him as the APC governorship candidate in the election, the final list of governorship candidates published by the electoral umpire left his name out.
“INEC claims to have party logos on the ballot paper. So, why didn’t they publish only the logos of all the political parties and leave the candidates?’’Mr Eze said.
The APC candidate said that his supporters refused to vote because they were angry they had not been treated well by INEC.
He said he pleaded with them to go and vote but they insisted they would not vote until INEC created a level playing ground.

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has emerged winner of the governorship and House of Assembly elections cast at the polling unit of the incumbent Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
The governor voted at the Ita Gbangba, Ward 6, Unit 8, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
At the polling unit, for the governorship election, APM came first with 70 votes, APC had 31 votes and ADC had 14 votes. The PDP had zero votes in the polling unit. For the Ogun State House of Assembly in the unit, APM had 59 votes while APC scored 35 votes and ADC 13 votes. The PDP had zero votes.
Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says “O to ge”, the slogan used to dislodge Senate President Bukola Saraki in Kwara State is not applicable in Lagos.
Loosely translated as “enough is enough”, the slogan yielded massive rewards for Kwara APC as the party displaced all the three sitting senators in the state, won all house of reps seats and President Buhari defeated Atiku Abubakar of the PDP with over 150,000 votes in the state.
Some politicians and activists opposed to Tinubu had attempted to use a similar strategy to stop the emergence of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his preferred candidate.
But fielding questions from reporters after casting his ballot at polling unit 047, ward 3, Ikeja local government area of the state, Tinubu said in Lagos, the people should consider “o to pe”, translated as “it’s worthy of praise”.
He said there is a limit to copying concepts from other states, expressing confidence that his party would emerge victorious in the exercise.
“The O to ge slogan is for Ilorin; Lagos is not Kwara state, and there is a limit to copying. Lagos should be O to pe, not O Toge,” he said.
“We are going to win because we are the only party in Lagos state, others are pretenders; they come and they will go away. Leopard cannot change his skin.
“Lagos belongs to the progressives; we are progressives and we will remain progressives. For Lagos, it has seen tremendous development since I was the governor; before then, the highest internally generated revenue (IGR) was N600 million, per month, now it is over N30 billion.
“No other state has achieved what we have achieved, financial independence, as Lagos state; no other nation, they all depend on allocation from the federal government. Lagos State today will not depend on any allocation before we take care of capital needs; we build roads and bridges everywhere from Oregun to many parts of the state.
“The real estate value of Lagos state has exponentially increased than any other state in the federation. We are the fifth largest economy in Africa; let me see that governor who will do better than that.”
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has lost his polling unit to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in today’s gubernatorial election.
Mr Ajimobi, who lost the National Assembly election to return to the Senate two weeks ago.
He was accompanied to the polling unit, which is close to his Oluyole residence, by Florence, his wife.
The result of the election at polling unit 20, ward 11 in Ibadan South West local government area, indicated that the All Progressives Congress candidate, Adebayo Adelabu, scored 112 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Seyi Makinde, scored 145 votes.
EFCC operatives on Saturday intercepted bags of cash meant for vote-buying at North Bank area of Makurdi, Benue State capital. In an attempt to arrest the culprit, some thugs attacked the anti-corruption officials and vandalised the bus used for patrol.

A millionaire's son has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a little girl by dangerous driving, 12 years after the devastating car crash.
Antonio Boparan, 31, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Cerys Edwards by dangerous driving at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday, reports Birmingham Live.
Cerys was left paralysed and brain damaged after a crash in 2006.
She died one month before her 10th birthday, after the crash left her needing round-the-clock care and a ventilator to breathe.
A post-mortem examination found her death in October 2015 was as "a result of the collision".
Boparan was charged by postal requisition in December last year after a criminal case review was launched following the results of Cerys' post-mortem.
The horror crash happened in November 2006 when Boparan ploughed his £57,000 Range Rover into Cerys' parents' Jeep.
Only 19 at the time, Boparan was speeding on the wrong side of Streetly Lane in Sutton Coldfield in a powerful Range Rover Sport when the crash happened.
Boparan, heir to an £800m fortune from his parents' catering business, was doing up to 80mph on a 30mp limit road, the court was told.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested an agent in Benue State with millions of naira claiming to be the agent of the Benue State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Emmanuel Jimeh.
The EFCC, which posted a picture of the seizure, said in a Facebook post that the suspect was arrested in Makurdi.
The post read, “At the North Bank Area, Makurdi, a man was caught with large bags containing lots of money. While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and vehicles vandalised. Information gathered confirms that the money belongs to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state.”
