Real Madrid Reappoint Zidane As Head Coach

Zinedine Zidane has returned as coach of Real Madrid, just 284 days after walking away from the club.

The Frenchman, who won three consecutive Champions Leagues in two-and-a-half years at the Santiago Bernabéu, has been convinced to take over again – signing a new contract until June 2022 – following a week in which Madrid were defeated three times in a row at home.

Zidane replaces Santi Solari with immediate effect and will be in charge for the remaining 11 games in the season.

Okorocha's Name Removed From INEC List Of New Senators

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has removed Governor Rochas Okorocha's name from the list of people that will collect certificate of return. Reason: INEC returning officer revealed that he declared Okorocha winner of Imo West Senatorial District under duress.

Implication: This development means that the election that produced Okorocha as a senator is now null and void. INEC will conduct fresh election in the senatorial district.

Lagos Police Command Gets New PPRO

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu mni, has appointed DSP Bala Elkana as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos State.

The new PPRO who took over from CSP Chike Oti, today, 11/03/2019, enlisted into the Nigeria Police in 2003. He holds a Bachelors degree in Law (LLB), Master’s Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

He had served in different commands and held various positions, including Operations Officer, Divisional Crime Officer, Divisional Police Officer, Community Policing Officer. I

Three-Time World Track Cycling Champion, Kelly Catlin Takes Her Own Life

Three-time world track cycling champion Kelly Catlin has died aged 23 - with her brother confirming she took her own life.

USA Cycling said the Olympic medalist, who won silver at the Rio Games, has passed away and paid tribute to her in a statement.

Catlin claimed glory in the team pursuit at three successive world championships on the track between 2016 and 2018.

She also won individual pursuit bronze at the 2017 and 2018 championships.


Catlin's brother Colin confirmed his sister had taken her own life.

"My sister Kelly committed suicide last night," he wrote on Facebook.

Catlin won all three of her world titles alongside Chloe Dygert Owen and Jennifer Valente.

Kimberley Geist was part of the team in 2017 and 2018, while Sarah Hammer rode in the 2016 triumph.

"We are deeply saddened by Kelly's passing," said USA Cycling president and chief executive Rob DeMartini.

"We will all miss her dearly. Kelly was more than an athlete to us and she will always be part of the USA Cycling family.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Catlin family. This is an incredibly difficult time and we want to respect their privacy.

Ajimobi, APC Congratulate Oyo Governor-Elect

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and the state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have congratulated Seyi Makinde on his election as the governor of the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Mr Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election.

In a congratulatory message issued by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Bolaji Tunji, Mr Ajimobi said now that the elections are over, Mr Makinde should ensure all stakeholders are carried along in his administration.

The governor urged the governor-elect to start preparing for the onerous task of governance by putting behind him all the electioneering acrimonies and prevail on his followers and supporters to guard against acts and utterances capable of igniting crisis in the state.

Iyanya Opens Up On Relationship With Freda Francis, Betrayal From Ubi & His Music Frustration

Singer Iyanya for the first time is speaking out, and we mean really speaking out about what led to his breakup with former manager and business partner, Ubi Franklin, why he couldn’t tie the knot with Lagos Big Girl, Freda Francis, his then relationship with Mavin and how a set of people are FRUSTRATING everything he does in other for his music not to be out there and more. Iyanya sat with Ndani Tv’s  Bolanle Olukanni to reveal this.

On why he left the Made Men Music MMM, Iyanya said

“What people don’t know is, I didn’t sell my share. People see me and say oh why did you sell your share? I didn’t sell my shares, I left Made Men at the time because there was so much darkness. In the midst of all the wings, I decided to let that go.


When I said it was darkness, I was not myself anymore because I felt like there was no trust anymore. Because at the time I was singing I co-owned Made Men with Ubi but I later realized that my name was not in any of the forms I signed and I was broken and that was the beginning of me just saying to hell with everything”.

On how Don Jazzy brought him into his Mavin;

“Mavin was … shout out to Jazzy… Jazzy gave me that platform to put music out because I left Made Men and I didn’t want anything from Made Men, so Jazzy just said look, man, you’ve built something over the years and starting all over is not going to be as easy as you think, so just put out music from here and work on something. So people really thought I signed to Mavin but it wasn’t like a legal signing, it was just love. And then Temple Music came, when Temple music came, I love the vision, I love the dream and I was like Okay, let me try this, and that was when I released “Up To Something,” “Hold On,” I mean,“ Good Vibes. And after that, it was time for me to move, because I felt like I got to the point where I have to put out my own thing, have my own family, have my own team”.

“That was healing for me, that was the best time of whole situation I was in, that was the best moment because Jazzy just opened his family and said look, you’re one of us and everybody just showed me that love coz it came from Jazzy. So from Jazzy to Tiwa, to Baby Fresh to everybody, it was just love and that really gave me life because, to be honest with you, I was broken. Like I was broken!” he said

About his relationship with Freda Francis;

”It was a great experience. Freda was amazing, a blessing to me at the time. However, when you go public now, everybody now owns the relationship. I just got to the point where I could do more. I was not done with my music. Being in a relationship was not distracting but I believe she was ready for marriage because she is very intelligent and doing well for herself. No disrespect but I am not the kind of guy that wants to be with a woman because she is doing well and then I forget I have my own goals. It was a way for me to sort my life now”.

On the music industry he said;

”Iyanya is not quiet because Iyanya can’t sing anymore. Iyanya is not quiet because he doesn’t have money to do music. I am just quiet because I have got people using whatever connects they have to frustrate everything that I do”

How el-Rufai (APC) won Kaduna | Okowa (PDP) sweeps Delta

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state, as winner of Saturday’s election. He polled 1,045,427 votes to defeat Isha Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 814,168 votes. He reportedly won in 15 of the 23 local government areas, while Ashiru won in eight of the LGAs.

Meanwhile, the PDP has rejected the results of the election, alleging conspiracy.

Speaking at the Kaduna collation centre, Jerry Ishaya, the party’s agent, said “We have formally written the INEC that card readers were not used in those local government areas mentioned. Our agents told us how security agents overpowered them in some areas,” he said.

“The results were manipulated in collaboration with the INEC, security agents.”

PDP Wins Delta State 
INEC on Monday also declared Governor Ifeanyi Okowa winner of the 2019 governorship election in Delta. He won in 23 out of the 25 local government areas of the state. 

The State Returning Officer of INEC, Prof. Seth Accra-Jaja, said “I hereby certify that I was the State Returning Officer for March Governorship election. The election was keenly contested by different candidates and Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of the PDP polled a total number of 925,274 votes to defeat his first runner up, Chief Great Ogboru of the All Progressive Congress who polled a total of 215,938 votes.’’

According to him, the total number of rejected votes is 24,147 and the total number of votes cast is 1,178,335, while the total number of valid votes is 1,154,188.

The collation officer, who was immediately arrested and led away by security officials, is a professor.
