We May Start Selling Petrol Above N145 - IPMAN

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has urged the Federal Government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to ensure that private depot owners maintain the official ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) at N133.28 per litre.

The Chairman, IPMAN, Ore Depot, Mr Shina Amoo, who said this in an interview with our correspondent in Lagos on Monday, stated that independent marketers might soon start selling beyond N145 per litre if depot owners continued to sell between N136.50 and N137 per litre.

Amoo urged the NNPC to prevail on depot owners not to sell beyond the official ex-depot price in order to enable marketers to sell to consumers at N145 per litre.

He said, “Private depot owners have increased the ex-depot price of PMS beyond N133.28 per litre. We bought a litre of PMS between N136.50 and N137 per litre from private depot owners last weekend. This can affect the pump price at which independent marketers will sell the product, and it will certainly be beyond the N145, which is the official pump price.

Drunk Dad R*pes His 15-Year-Old Daughter After Mistaking Her For His Wife

The 59-year-old dad came home "stinking of alcohol" and crawled into his daughter's bed thinking she was his wife

A drunk father r-ped his own 15-year-old daughter after mistaking her for his wife - and the victim has forgiven him and hit out at a social worker, a court heard.

The 59-year-old dad came home "stinking of alcohol" on the night of the incident on March 22 last year and crawled into his daughter's bed.

The construction worker told police he thought he was getting into bed with his wife and he immediately stopped having s-x when he realised his mistake.

His teenage daughter told investigators that she sensed he had mistaken her for her mum, and she tried to tell him but was unable to stop him.

Hong Kong's High Court heard that the daughter later told a psychologist that she had forgiven her father, the South China Morning Post reported after the the dad was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
She instead had directed “anger and displeasure” against a social worker who reported the case without her consent, the court heard.

The teen said she felt guilty after her family was split up following the incident, and blamed the social worker in a victim impact statement read out in court.

Sentencing, Deputy High Court Judge Amanda Woodcock said: “This is an unusual case with peculiar facts.

The dad had been offered a plea deal in which he would admit a charge of incest and avoid being prosecuted for r-pe.

But the judge rejected the deal.
The father appeared in court on Monday and pleaded guilty to r-pe.

The court heard that he didn't want to put his daughter or wife through the ordeal of giving evidence at a trial.

The judge reduced the father's five-year sentence by almost half while taking into consideration his guilty plea and remorse, and the daughter's statement to police.

Judge To Decide If Husband Can Continue Having S-x With His Wife Who Now Has Learnig Difficulties

A judge in a specialist court has been asked to decide whether a man can keep having s-x with his wife of more than 20 years to ensure she is not r-ped.

The woman has learning difficulties, and carers say there is evidence that her mental health has reached a stage where she no longer has the capacity to consent.

At a preliminary hearing at the Court of Protection in London yesterday, a judge said the man might be put in a situation where he could face prison if he breached an order, or an undertaking, not to make love to his wife.

But the judge said he wanted to examine evidence in detail - and hear arguments from lawyers representing the woman, the man, and the council involved - before making any decisions.

He also suggested that such an order would be difficult to police.
They want a judge in the Court of Protection, where issues involving people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions, to consider the case.
'I cannot think of any more obviously fundamental human right than the right of a man to have s-x with his wife - and the right of the State to monitor that,' he said.
'I think he is entitled to have it properly argued.'
A full hearing is expected to take place in the near future.
Mr Justice Hayden said the couple involved could not be identified in the media.

Kate Wright Pays Tribute To Rio Ferdinand's Late Wife On Mother's Day

Kate Wright paid tribute to Rio Ferdinand's late wife Rebecca Ellison, who passed away from breast cancer in 2015, aged 35, with a touching Mother's Day card.

27-year-old Kate, who is stepmother to 40-year-old Rio's three children, Lorenz, 12, and Tate, ten, included an image of herself and the children's grandparents.

'How lucky we all are to have hearts that can love after so much pain. Happy Mother’s Day to everyone.'

Kate would have wanted to include Rebecca in the children's thoughts as she helped to navigate them through what is no doubt an incredibly painful day for them.

Earlier in the day, Rio, has gushed over his fiancé Kate, for keeping the memory of his children's mother alive on Mother's Day.

The footballer shared a snap of Kate walking along a deck while holding hands with his daughter Tia, and posted an emotional message alongside it.

Policeman, 36, Admits Having S-x With 17-Year-Old Boy In Patrol Car

A former policeman has admitted having s-x with a 17-year-old boy while on duty in his patrol car after they met and drove to a stately home.

Pc Mark Martin, who has since resigned from Thames Valley Police, appeared before a judge yesterday, where he admitted a charge of wilful misconduct.

The 36-year-old was charged after details of the encounter leaked out to colleagues and he was suspended from duty.

Martin appeared before Judge Edward Burgess at Reading Crown Court today where he admitted wilfully neglecting to perform his duty while occupying a public office.

The judge ordered a pre-sentence report to be compiled on the ex-policeman who had been based at High Wycombe police station in Buckinghamshire.

The defendant offered the teenager a ride in his police car on November 8 and drove him to a secluded car park at Hughenden Manor, near High Wycombe, where the two engaged in consensual s-x, a court heard.

He was arrested weeks later - on November 28 - and charged on February 15, after he had submitted his resignation to police bosses in December. He finally left the force on January 31.

Appearing before Judge Burgess yesterday morning, the charge was read to Martin as he stood hunched in the dock.

It said: 'On November 8, while active as a police constable, you wilfully conducted in a way which amounted to abuse of trust by engaging in sexual misconduct with another male while on duty,' a charged which Martin admitted.

The case was adjourned by Judge Burgess until May 13, on which date Martin was set to be sentenced at the same court following his admission.

Wife Cries Out: How Landlady Killed My Husband With Juju

The landlady of 16 Adekoya Street in Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State and her children are on the run, following alleged murder of one of her tenants, Idowu Oladele at the weekend.

The fleeing landlady, Fausat Ibrahim, was said to have hit the deceased with a charm on his chest, causing him to slump and died moments before being rushed to the hospital.

Late Oladele’s widow, Bose, narrated in tears how her husband was killed.

She said that trouble started after she and her late husband returned from a party at about 9pm on Saturday. They left the cooler which was used to take food to the party, at their door step, with the intention to wash them next day.

According to her, "barely had we settled down than we heard bangs on the door. When my husband opened the door, he found our landlady and her two children, Awwal and Zainab.

“The landlady asked why we put our property at our doorstep, that every part of the compound belongs to her. While my husband tried to reply, her son, Awwal, hit him on his head. As he turned to face Awwal, the landlady used a charm to hit my husband on his chest. He (husband) started jerking and after some minutes, he fell and died.”

When Vanguard visited the area, yesterday, tenants said the fleeing suspect had threatened severally to kill the deceased.

According to a tenant, who spoke on the condition of anonymity: “She has been threatening to take his life on several occasions. In fact, just some days ago, the landlady told Idowu that she would kill him very soon, because he was daring her in that compound.”

Boat Owner In Trouble After Being Caught Carrying Students Without Life Jackets

The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has impounded a boat and arrested the operator for ferrying 12 secondary school students on Lagos lagoon without life jackets.

Speaking in Lagos on Monday, the General Manager, Lagos Office, Muazu Sambo said the Lagos area office also arrested the boat operator and boat driver.

He added that the children were going from Takwa Bay to Osborne for a school events.

The NIWA boss stated that the owner of the boats and driver, Mr. Balogun Oriyomi and Solomon Gbenga respectively, will be handed over to the police for prosecution.

According to the NIWA GM, "ln the morning of Thursday 28th March 2019, management of NIWA on a control inspection arrested a private passenger boat on the Lagos lagoon."

The boat was conveying school children of the Government Secondary School who were all under 16 years old from Tarkwa Bay to Osborne for a Schools event. The route is one of the busiest. Most shockingly, none of the children wore a life jacket on that open boat.

“A standard approved life jacket is an essential requirement for water transportation and its use is mandatory, for it is the only tool that helps to ensure the survival of lives in the unfortunate event of a boat mishap.

“What is more, nobody can rule out the possibility of a mishap occurring on any trip at any given time due to several factors that may be beyond human control.

“NIWA places a very high premium on the safety of lives on water. The Authority had only recently toured all passenger jetties in Lagos on sensitization campaign on safety, with particular emphasis on the use of life jackets, amongst other requirements."
