The Gringo star was clad in a boho-inspired ensemble of purple and maroon overalls, accessorizing with multiple beaded necklaces and bracelets and a pair of earrings as she left a grocery store with her musician beau.

Paris carried a purse over her shoulder as she wore light beige moccasin boots, toting a blue and red knit sweater just in case it got chilly on the daytime excursion.

Queen Bans Meghan From Borrowing Jewellery From Her Personal Collection- Report

The Queen has 'banned' the Duchess of Sussex from wearing some of the priceless items from her own private collection, it has been revealed.

Certain priceless items from the the Monarch's private collection, which are loaned at the discretion of Her Majesty, will not be made available to Meghan, according to a palace insider.

The move reportedly came after the Queen was left 'unimpressed by Meghan's demanding behaviour' ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry last year - during which he is reported to have told staff, 'What Meghan wants Meghan gets.'

Buckingham Palace has reportedly applied the stringent new rules to Meghan in a bid to 'maintain order, hierarchy and precedence' within the Royal Family.

The Duchess borrowed the diamond tiara belonging to the Queen's grandmother on her wedding day in May last year, and wore a pair of pearl earrings gifted to her by Her Majesty during her first joint engagement with the monarch last June.

The Royal Collection is held in trust by the Sovereign for her successors and the nation, and is not owned by The Queen as a private individual.

But the Queen does own a number of items - including a glittering array of crowns, tiaras, necklaces and earrings - which remain her private property and are kept in her own collection.

She loans them out to members of the royal family for formal occasions and state visits, at her own discretion.

A 'royal insider' told The Sun: 'It is true that Buckingham Palace did not want all the items in the Royal Collection to be opened up to Meghan at this time.

'Obviously Kate as the next Princess of Wales and a senior member of the family does have them made available to her.

'That's not to say items won't be loaned to Meghan in the future if situations change.'

Last month, The Mail on Sunday revealed the Prince of Wales told the Duchess of Sussex not to wear a tiara to her first overseas state dinner, fearing it might look 'extravagant'.

The Duchess had hoped to borrow a jewelled tiara from the Royal Collection for the event, but she was advised by her father-in-law that such ostentation is avoided in parts of the Commonwealth where it can be seen as reminiscent of a bygone era or 'extravagant'.

A source said: 'Meghan did not understand all of this because she was new to the role and so Prince Charles told her that it would not be appropriate.

'It was very kindly done.'

Free Internet Access For Nigerians Coming - FG

Adebayo Shittu, minister of Communications, has said that the federal government will ensure free access to the internet in public places across Nigeria.

Mr Shittu said this in Abuja at a one-day stakeholders workshop on the role of the Public Internet Access for Economic Development.

“We are trying to ensure the vision of free Wi-Fi all over, particularly in public spaces, at the airport, schools and all that,” Mr. Shittu said on Tuesday.

Mr. Shittu said the government had been trying to ensure that internet accessibility is made available not just for privileged Nigerians but everyone.

“The Federal Ministry of Communication will ensure the privacy of beneficiaries of the free internet services is protected,” he said.

He said for this to be a reality, more investments are needed because the government alone cannot handle the financial responsibilities involved.

Mr. Shittu listed some of the challenges faced by the government in providing free internet services to include high cost of access, low broadband penetration, poor internet infrastructure, and poor enabling environment.

“The solutions to these challenges are beyond government’s intervention,” he said.

Rwanda Remembers Quarter Of A Century After Genocide...

Rwanda on Sunday commemorates the 25th anniversary of the genocide in which at least 800,000 mainly Tutsi people were beaten, hacked and shot to death in a hundred days of slaughter.

A quarter of a century on, the east African nation has recovered economically but the trauma casts a long and dark shadow over the country.

On Sunday, as has become the tradition every April 7, the day the genocide began, President Paul Kagame will light a remembrance flame in the capital at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where more than 250,000 victims are reputed to be buried.

It marks the beginning of a week of commemoration activities, and the start of a hundred days of national mourning.

In the afternoon on Sunday, Kagame, who led the rebels that chased the genocidal killers out of Rwanda and has been in power ever since, leads memorial commemorations at a ceremony at Kigali's main football stadium.

The Amahoro National Stadium -- "peace" in Rwanda's Kinyarwanda language -- was used during the genocide by the UN to protect thousands of Tutsis from the massacres on the streets outside.

Belgium Apologise For Mixed-Race Kidnappings In Colonial Era...

Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel has apologised for the kidnapping of thousands of children born to mixed-race couples during colonial rule in Burundi, DR Congo and Rwanda.

The "métis" children born to Belgian settlers and local women were forcibly taken to Belgium and fostered by Catholic orders and other institutions.

About 20,000 children are believed to have been affected.

Most fathers refused to acknowledge the paternity of their children.

The children were born in the 1940s and 1950s and taken to Belgium from 1959 until the independence of each of the three colonies.

Some of the children never received Belgian nationality and remained stateless.

Speaking in the Belgian parliament, Mr Michel said the country had breached the children's basic human rights, seeing them as a threat to the colonial system.

It had, he said, stripped them of their identity, stigmatised them and split up siblings.

"I vow that this solemn moment will represent a further step towards awareness and recognition of this part of our national history," he said in his statement.

Many of the mixed-race children had gone on to help Belgium become a "more open and tolerant society", the prime minister added.

He also expressed Belgian compassion for the "African mothers whose children were snatched from them".

Two years ago, the Catholic Church apologised for its role in the scandal.

Last year, Belgian MPs called on the government to help the affected children find their biological parents and also gain Belgian nationality.

Private Jet Owned By Atedo Peterside Allegedly Robbed At Lagos Airport

A private jet belonging to ANAP Jets, owned by entrepreneur Atedo Peterside, has been vandalised by robbers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, Sahara Reporters states.

According to a source at the airport, some unidentified persons opened the cargo hold of an arrival private jet and stole a bag.

After the aircraft landed, ATC Avition Services asked the aircraft to hold for traffic reasons. However, while the aircraft was holding, some thieves popped out from the bush and opened the cargo hold door, stealing a bag.

According to airport standard procedure, there should be an escort van to tail all arriving and departing aircraft prior take-off or entry into the ramp. But there were no vehicles to escort this aircraft, the online platform claims.

This is not the first time in recent years that an aircraft will be robbed at the airport. In February 2018, burglars attacked an Air Peace aircraft at the airport while it was taxiing for takeoff to Abuja, the medium stated.

I Only Received Monies As Gifts For My Daughter's Wedding, Not Bribe - CJN Onnogene

Walter Onnoghen, the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), says some money paid into his account sometime in 2015 were gifts for his daughter’s wedding, and not bribe as alleged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a petition filed before the National Judicial Council (NJC), at its sitting on Wednesday, EFCC had alleged that Onnoghen received money in his account in 2015, alleging that the money was paid to influence the cases before the Supreme Court, at the time Onnoghen was on the Supreme Court panel.

But in a written address submitted by the counsel to the respondent listed as follows
R.A. Lawal-Rabana, SAN; Okon Nkanu Efut, SAN; J.U.K. Igwe, SAN; George Ibrahim, Esq; Victoria Agi, Esq; Orji Ude Ekumankama, Esq; Opeyemi Origunloye, Esq; Temitayo Fiki, Esq, which was scheduled for Service on Rotimi Oyedepo, the counsel to the EFCC, Onnoghen denied the allegation, stating that the money constituted gifts for his daughter’s wedding, in line with custom.

Under the title, ‘Alleged Receipt of Pecuniary Gifts’, Onnoghen’s defence read: “In paragraph (iii) at page 2 of its second petition dated 5th March 2019, the petitioner alleged that His Lordship received pecuniary gifts from the following and on the following dates: Ogunsanya Adewunmi: N250,000 (22/5/15); Paul Usoro (SAN): N350,000 (22/4/15); Emeka Etiaba (SAN): N250,000 (19/5/15); Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN): N300,00 (19/5/15); Eze Duru Iheoma (SAN): N100,000 (6/03/15)

In his evidence-In-Chief, the Respondent (Onnoghen) explained that the gifts were made at a time of the marriage ceremony of his first daughter, Oremini Nkanu Onnoghen who got married sometime in 2015. It was not solicited and remains a part and parcel of the customs and traditions of the people. His Lordship tendered a copy of the wedding invitation which was admitted in evidence without objection by the petitioner as Exhibit R9.

“The Panel will observe that all the gifts of N250,000, N350,000, N250,000, N300,000 and N100,000 respectively were made within the period of the wedding shown in exhibit R9. From the evidence of the petitioner/prosecution itself, there were no other payments made by those persons or by any other lawyer into the account of the Respondent prior to or after the said period of the wedding of the daughter.

Accordingly, no misconduct can be seen or inferred from the unsolicited customary gifts said to be given to His Lordship. It had nothing to do with the discharge of his duties as a judicial offer. By Rule 13.5(2) of the Revised Code of Conduct For Judicial officers (Published February, 2016) a judicial office is permitted to accept – (i) Personal gifts or benefits from relatives or personal friends to such extent and on such occasions as are recognized by custom.

“The statements of three of the persons alleged to have given the gifts which they made to the EFCC are before this Committee. Nothing in them shows that the gifts were meant to bribe or induce His Lordship in the performance of his duties as a judicial officer. Nothing before this Committee contradicted the statements. It ought to be accepted as the true facts.”

New Senate President: Fight In APC As Goje Gets Endorsed

Will the ruling APC be able to go into the race for the 9th Senate leadership as one? The North-East Youths Development Association has endorsed Danjume Goje, senator representing Gombe central, as the next senate president.

Their action is against the position the APC leadership.

They besieged the national assembly on Thursday and asked the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to not only zone the position to the north-east but to back Senator Goje for the job.

The group carried various placards with inscriptions calling on lawmakers as well to support Goje, a former governor of Gombe, who they said would “make the legislature viable” in Nigeria.

Bello Ambo, chairman of the association, said Goje is “qualified” to take over from Bukola Saraki.

“His wealth of experience and managerial prowess gannered right from his days as federal minister and of late the Governor of Gombe state... Being a third-term ranking senator he has the ability and capacity to lead the 9th Senate effectively.

“Considering his wealth of experience as a proven administrator and also the chairman of the Senate committee on appropriation he is conversant with rigours of the Senate.”

The APC is expected to produce the next senate president as they have 25 seats more than the PDP.

The party leadership as well as President Muhammadu Buhari have endorsed Ahmad Lawan from Yobe state for the job. This has, however, not stopped other lawmakers from indicating their interest.

Read the report shared by Bakia Thomas on Facebook below;

"I need urgent advice please. We met Ochanya Samson yesterday evening, 17years of age from Benue State. Seriously molested by a man who called on her and she refused to go, she almost lost an eye. Now we were together with Godsent M. Sadoh when we saw her entering the hospital.

An orphan with no mother and father, her uncles drove her away because of her character, that version of the story was told to us after I got her treated yesterday.

Ochanya had a baby when she was 15 and her uncles who threw her away took her to Aba and sold the baby for N500,000 and took the money from her. Returning to Abuja, they got a house, same house they live now and they sent Ochanya away."

Mackenzie Bezos Is World's 4th Richest Woman After Divorce Settlement

Chai! See how she made it to the top STRESS-LESS!

After finalizing her divorce from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Bezos lands at the No. 4 spot on the list of world’s richest women.

MacKenzie Bezos will retain 25% of the couple’s stock in Amazon, or about a 4% stake in the entire company, she announced from a newly-created Twitter account on Thursday. That stake is worth approximately $36 billion per Amazon’s current share price.

That fortune makes Bezos, a writer, the fourth-richest woman in the world, behind Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, the L’Oreal heiress with a net worth of $54 billion and Alice Walton of the Walmart family and her $44 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires’ Index. Bezos is nearly tied with the third woman on the list, Jacqueline Badger Mars of the Mars candy company family, who has a net worth of $37 billion; some estimates of Bezos’s 4% stake place that value closer to that number.

“Grateful to have finished the process of dissolving my marriage with Jeff with support from each other and everyone who reached out to us in kindness, and looking forward to our next phase as co-parents and friends. Excited about my own plans. Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next,” she said in a statement.

For Real? No budget provision for 80 Nigerian Embassies

Only 30 of the 110 Nigerian foreign missions will be considered for budgetary allocations in the 2019 fiscal year. The permanent secretary of the ministry of foreign affairs, Mustapha Suleiman disclosed this while defending the ministry’s budget before the senate committee on foreign affairs.

He said there was a 64 percent cut on the capital votes proposed for the missions in the 2019 budget, when compared to the N11.3 billion earmarked in 2018.

According to him, the N4.1 billion was proposed for the missions for 2019 can only cover 30 missions critically in need of funding, ThisDay reports.

“As a result of this, only 30 missions could be considered out of 110 missions for purchase of representational car, renovation/completion of ongoing projects,” he told the committee.

Monsurat Sunmonu, chairman of the committee, wondered why the ministry had such meagre budget in spite of the challenges of Nigerian missions abroad, while expressing concern over their functionality.

The welfare of Nigerian diplomats has been a source of concern. There have been cases when diplomatic officials were unable to pay utility bills, rent or their children’s school fees.

In 2017, officials of Nigerian embassy in US protested the non-payment of their salaries for three months.

Tinubu Alerted Over Planned Sabotage Of Power-shift In APC

A chieftain of the APC in Adamawa, Ahmed Lawal yesterday cautioned the leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, against power rotation saboteurs within the party.

He rues activities of some elements in the party as repugnant to the planned power-shift idea.

Lawal gave the hint in an interview with NAN in Yola, Adamawa State capital. He advised the leadership of the ruling party to review its performance at the governorship election. He said such would enable the leadership to identify those elements that were bent on frustrating the planned power rotation to the southern part of the country.

Lawal, who is the organizing secretary of the APC in Adamawa, accused some prominent members of the party of anti-party activities during the last general elections.

He said: “As a party with a vision for equity and fairness, the APC has already planned to shift power to the southern part of Nigeria. It is worthy of note that some political elements in Northern Nigeria are opposed to the arrangement.

“They worked against APC during the last governorship elections with the aim of allowing the opposition PDP to win more states. This was done to build the PDP to be formidable to wrestle power from APC in 2023 against the interest of the south.

“I am urging the leadership of the party at the national level to review the last governorship elections with the view to identifying those elements and wield the stick on them.
“The south supported us to rule for eight years, it will be bad if we in turn, betray them and still retain power in the north.”

Meanwhile, some senators-elect had cautioned President Buhari against allowing the National Assembly to be taken over by the foot-soldiers of Tinubu.

The senators said that the recommendation of Senator Ahmed Lawan for the Senate presidency by the APC was a plot to surrender the parliament to Tinubu.
