President Muhammadu Buhari has been charged to declare the dare-devil herdsmen, terrorists group forthwith.
This is because the herders’ activities are becoming too dangerous and unbearable to the people of Nigeria.
According to a statement, Lagos Central Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the just concluded election, Onitiri said the Federal Government should do the needful and declare total and decisive action against herdsmen before they kill everybody.
According to Onitiri, herders are now more daring and dangerous than the most dreaded Boko Haram ravaging the North-East because they are now found all over the country attacking anybody in sight.
Onitiri noted that the herdsmen have killed more people than the Boko Haram within the past one year.
The Chief Imam of Al-Furqan Mosque in Kano, Dr Bashir Omar, has urged the Federal Government to declare state-of-emergency in Zamfara State to address incessant kidnappings and killing of innocent citizens.
He made the call in his sermon during prayers in the mosque on Friday.
Omar said that the call was necessary in order to check the wanton killings currently going on in the state.
“The wanton killings and kidnappings can only be stopped through the introduction of State-of-Emergency by the Federal Government.
“The people of Zamfara State deserve pity and all forms of compassion to enjoy a peaceful living because the pogrom has consumed many lives with almost no end in sight.
“This is not the first time I am calling on the Federal Government to declare a State-of-Emergency in the state to end the killings,” he said.
According to him, the perpetrators of the dastardly acts are made to have a field day in the absence of punitive measures on ground to checkmate such despicable atrocities.
The cleric stressed the need for the government to match its words with action on how to end the disturbing spate of criminal banditry in the state.
He stated that kidnapping innocent citizens on the highways and other secluded areas had become a money-spinning business.
“Only those who lack absolute fear of Allah turned kidnapping as a business hence our decision to call for the imposition of emergency rule to put the abduction kingpins out of business.”
The Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN), Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda has said that, unemployment in Nigeria has reached a crisis situation, with only one out of every 100 graduates gets job.
He, however, expressed fear that, if that is not properly addressed with sufficient job creation, civil, social and political upheaval may ensue.
The SMEDAN boss noted that, the global population of young people between the ages of 15 and 24 was rapidly on the increase, with vast majority of that group living in emerging economies like Nigeria, hence the need to properly manage the group to yield positive demographic dividends, rather than becoming a security burden.

Operatives of the Abuja Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested two suspected internet fraudsters at their hideouts in Gwarimpa and Life Camp area of the city.
The guys, Ebele Emmanuel and Yadina Chukwudi, were arrested on April 1, 2019 following intelligence report received by the Cyber Crime Section of the zone.
Yadina allegedly specialised in job scam, in which he promises his victims fictitious jobs oversees and makes them part with their hard-earned money as processing fees.
On the other hand, Ebele is alleged to be a member of a syndicate, in which he acts as a “picker”, using a fraudulent account to receive money from different victims on behalf of other internet scammers. He gets his cut and further distributes it into other accounts to avoid being traced.
Investigations further revealed that Ebele owns an exotic house in Gwarimpa as well as an Estate in Asaba, Delta state, which are suspected to be proceeds of crime.
They will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
A teenage rapist who wanted to be a serial killer and kept a 'murder manual' has been jailed for eight years.
Harry Leigh, 19, wrote up a hit list of people he wanted to kill which included some of the girls, aged as young as 12, who he abused.
He wanted to be know as the 'Red Ribbon Killer of Hastings' and documented his preparations in a notebook he kept.
Police uncovered the book when they arrested Leigh for the r-pe of a 15-year-old girl who he had met when he offered to help her with homework.
Jailing Leigh this week, Judge David Rennie said psychiatric assessments showed he had 'psychopathic' traits.
The judge said: 'During their investigations, police found a folder relation to a character called the Red Ribbon Killer.'
He told Leigh: 'There were photos of you in that persona, there were studies of serial killers around the world, expressions of hatred against certain individuals, taunts to the police for not catching the killer before he commits his offences, a detailed map of the hunting ground where the killer was to operate, and a list of some 30 intended victims.'
In a harrowing impact statement, his victim said: 'It's hard to put into words all the ways this has affected my life and who I thought I was going to be.
'I don't feel comfortable in my own skin and I feel that looking at me can always tell. I have nightmares almost every night.
'I can't stuff the feelings back inside. I'm still full of anger and resentment at what happened. I know I'm getting better but I don't know if I will ever feel differently.'
Leigh was convicted at Hove Crown Court of one count of r-pe of a 15-year-old girl in Hastings in August 2017.
He had previously pleaded guilty to five counts of inciting four girls aged between 13 and 15 to engage in s-xual activity, between 2015 and 2018, and eight counts of causing seven girls aged between 12 and 15 to watch a sexual act, between 2013 and 2018.
He also admitted three counts of making indecent images of children in January 2018, including images at Category A, the most serious category.
Leigh was also cleared of blackmail of a girl in 2017 to 2018 and two counts of s-xual assault against two separate girls in 2014 and 2018.
A charge of possessing a kitchen knife, was discontinued during the trial.
He was given an extended sentence and is expected to serve four years behind bars, then serve 10 years on licence.
He was placed on the s-x offender register for life and was given a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) severely restricting his access to computers and to children under 16.
A man has been charged with having sex with a dog after his lost phone was found by his colleagues.
Florida police claimed Jesse Allen, 27, dropped his mobile during his shift at a restaurant in Florida, USA.
It was later handed over to police after workers found videos of a man having s-x with a dog in the gallery.
Officers have now arrested the man.
He was booked into the Marion County Jail on Tuesday on two counts of s-xual activity involving animals with his bail set at $2,000 about N730,000.
The police told the paper a woman went to the Ocala Police Department to hand in a mobile her brother found while at an Ocala restaurant.
The woman said while trying to identify the owner, she saw what she considered “numerous disturbing images and text messages,” according to the arrest affidavit in the case.
The woman recognised the man in a video on the phone as somebody who works at the restaurant.
Detective Josh Fried then found the Facebook page of the man in the videos and identified him as Jesse Allen, according to reports.
The page showed multiple cartoon images of various animals, mostly dog-like creatures “engaging in vulgar sexual acts,” according to the affidavit.
The detective obtained a search warrant for Allen’s phone.
Detective Fried said he found pictures of different dogs’ private areas and videos showing dogs having s-x with women.
He claims there were photos of Allen himself engaged in various s-x acts with a dog.
According to the affidavit, Allen said the s-xual activity between him and a dog named Rocky has been “going on for some time”.
Law enforcement officials said the dog is now in the custody of animal control officials.

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, yesterday said God’s kindness made it possible for him to break the second term jinx and record many unprecedented feats, saying he had no reason to regret over his senatorial election loss.
The governor said this while addressing guests at a thanksgiving service to mark the 60th birthday of his wife, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, held at the Government House, Ibadan.
On hand to rejoice with the state’s first family were the Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo; Wife of Ekiti State governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi; her Imo State counterpart, Mrs Nkechi Okorocha; wife of Ogun State Governor-elect, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun; and wife of the immediate past governor of Osun State, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola, among other dignitaries.
Having ruled for eight uninterrupted years, which marked the first in the history of the state, the governor said that God had been merciful and kind to him to use him to rewrite the history of the state for good.
Ajimobi said that he, therefore, had no reason to regret or worry over his failed senatorial bid and his unsuccessful attempt to hand over to a successor from his party, the All Progressives Congress.

Neno Evangelism Centre founder Pastor James Ng’ang’a on Thursday spent the night at Central Police Station.
Reports indicate that the clergyman was arrested for allegedly defrauding a businessman of Sh3.6 million.
He was freed on Friday morning and is set to appear in court later on.
In recent weeks, Ng'ang'a has been hitting headlines for the wrong reasons and had been charged with threatening to kill Citizen TV journalist Linus Kaikai.
The latter had suggested that only preachers with a Degree in Theology should be allowed to spread God’s word.
In a video that went viral on social media, Ng’ang’a asked Kaikai to steer clear of church matters and focus on journalism.
The visibly angry 66-year-old apostle admitted that he is not schooled but will not go back to school because it is too late.
He further warned the journalist that he would face the consequences if he continued ‘fighting’ the church.
A YouTuber's claims it is "patronising" to shake hands with women as they have "delicate hands".
Paul Ray Ramsey, wrote on Twitter that shaking hands with women was "like shaking hands with a child," also calling it "patronising," and suggesting they prefer hugs.
Twitter critics were quick to tell Ramsey what they thought of his views, calling him: an "idiot", a "moron," and a "white nationalist-adjacent YouTuber".
The Oklahoma YouTube provocateur - and recent self-appointed greetings etiquette expert - has nearly 50,000 followers on Twitter, and almost 60,000 subscribers on the video-streaming platform.
He has used his platforms to air a variety of views in recent days on topics ranging from US politics and President Donald Trump, to religion, and, immediately following his own online thrashing: "social media outrage mobs".
But it was Ramsey's views on the handshake late on Monday that fired up thousands of Twitter users.
He wrote on Twitter: "Shaking hands with a woman is like shaking hands with a child. It seems artificial and vaguely patronizing.
"The handshake was designed as a greeting between men to show that your sword hand was empty.
"Almost all women now greet with a quick hug in informal situations."
He later posted on his YouTube channel that to shake hands with a girl who may have "little, 'delicate' hands 'doesn't feel right'."
His claims were quickly torn apart - with many pointing out that as women their opinions on what they prefer held more weight than his views.
"I have never in my life [greeted] people in a formal setting with a quick hug," tweeted Jane Jackson. "My grandfather taught me to shake hands and look people in the eye when doing it. He taught me that I should show respect and be respected. It's a shame no one taught this to you."

According to Mirror, the man named Daban K. from Iraq, killed the woman after she had sheltered him from the Austrian authorities for several years.
The woman hid Daban in her flat when he ignored a deportation order to be sent back to Iraq from Austria.
After he was arrested for murder, the 40-year-old blamed the attack, which saw him stab his partner at least four times in the neck, on her for mocking his masculinity and being unfaithful.
Daban K., whose full name has not been released due to Austrian privacy laws, said in a conversation with court psychiatrist, Sigrun Rossmanith, that: “She was a very good woman to me, but she repeatedly insulted me.
“She cheated on me three times with other men and did not want to have s-x with me anymore. One day she told me that my p-nis was too small,” he said.
Empire actor Jussie Smollett is to be sued by the City of Chicago after apparently refusing to reimburse the costs of policing to investigate his claims of an alleged attack.
The 36-year-old had told police he had been the victim of a racist and homophobic attack in the city in January.
However, prosecutors said the attack was staged in a bid to boost his career and ordered Smollett to pay $130,000 (£99,500) to cover the cost of the investigation.
The deadline for payment passed on Thursday and now Chicago plans to sue, it said in a statement, despite prosecutors abruptly dropping plans to charge Smollett for allegedly staging the attack.
It said: "Mr Smollett has refused to reimburse the City Of Chicago for the cost of police overtime spent investigating his false police report on January 29, 2019.
"The Law Department is now drafting a civil complaint that will be filed in the Circuit Court Of Cook County.
"Once it is filed, the Law Department will send a courtesy copy of the complaint to Mr Smollett's LA-based legal team."
An Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, yesterday remanded till May 6, a dismissed Police Inspector, Olalekan Ogunyemi, charged with murdering a football fan, Kolade Johnson.
Magistrate A.O. Salawu remanded Ogunyemi at Ikoyi Prisons, pending advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The court’s order was sequel to an application by the police.
Ogunyemi, 45, of No. 17, Alhaji Ede Street, Igando, was docked on a one-count charge of murder.
Prosecuting Inspector Kehinde Olatunde told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 31, at about 5:10pm, at Onipetesi Estate, Idi-Mangoro, Lagos.
He alleged that Ogunyemi, who served in the Anti-Cultism Unit of Lagos State Police Command, shot Johnson, a 36-year-old father of one, to death, with his Ak47 rifle.
The offences, the prosecutor said, contravened Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Olatunde informed the court that he had a remand application order by the police to remand the defendant for the next 30 days.
The plea of the defendant was not taken by the court because magistrates’ courts don’t have jurisdiction to try a charge of murder.
But the defendant’s counsel, Sola Adeyemi, opposed the 30-day remand request.
Adeyemi prayed the court to instead remand the defendant for the next 14 days.
In a bench ruling, Magistrate Salawu upheld the prosecutor’s application and adjourned till May 6.
It's not easy in the wake of a break-up , but some people do manage to stay friendly with their exes.
However, Naomi Drever and Martin Carrington probably won't be exchanging Christmas cards or meeting up for the occasional chummy coffee.
Having parted ways, Martin recently decided to go down the classic "make your ex jealous" route and sent Naomi a video of him snogging another woman while eyeballing the camera suggestively.
An unimpressed Naomi, from Leeds, was having none of it and promptly posted the toe-curling clip online.
She poured some additional salt into the wound and captioned it:
"When you wake up to this off ya slime ball ex! How could you ever make me jealous pal? That is not fire!"
The plot then thickened, as the man believed to be Martin responded by claiming Naomi is not his ex but just "a f***" and claiming she had been less than perfect.
In the clip, Martin enthusiastically lock lips with a woman said to be 20-year-old Sophie Marie Phillips, also from Leeds.
Coming up for air from the clinch, Martin can be heard saying: "Fire, look at her she's fire. Fire"
They then kiss again showing both their tongues to the camera before Martin lets out a laugh and stops filming.
Elizabeth Coyle said: "Right they've just put me off my breaky. He's definitely downgraded, that's no fire."
And that's one of the nicer comments.

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on the occasion of his 67th birthday.
Buhari hailed the former Edo State governor for providing purposeful, courageous and tenacious leadership.
The President was quoted by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, as saying that Comrade Oshiomhole, after many years of serving as a labour leader, brought a new dynamism into the collective effort to make democracy and development more inclusive in the country, recognising his vibrant relationship with Nigerian workers and ordinary people.
As the Chairman of APC, the President believed the strides recorded in the last elections across the country clearly testify to Oshiomhole’s visionary and vibrant leadership.
A man's death has been blamed on working too hard after he clocked up more than 70 hours overtime in just one month without pay.
Yukinobu Sato, from Japan, had been employed by the country's space agency and had been given "achievable" work goals, his family lawyer, Hiroshi Kawahito revealed.
Asahi.com reports that in addition to handling the satellite control operation, Mr Sato was asked to develop software for a system that manages the satellite’s schedule.
He also had difficulties with his boss, and his workload was increased just before his death.
Speaking at a press conference Mr Kawahito, sat next to Mr Sato's mother Hisae, he authorities in Tsuchiura cited the heavy physical and psychological stress the young man was put under.
This led to an adjustment disorder, ultimately causing him to end his life.
Mr Kawahito pointed out that Sato worked a highly demanding shift for the control operation, requiring intense concentration. He worked 16-hour overnight shifts seven times a month.
After he started to take on heavier responsibilities at work in September 2016, his overtime hours reached 70 or more per month.
When Sato tried to claim the overtime, his boss gave him a warning, forcing him to work the extra hours without pay.
A representative of Software Consultant said, “We sincerely accept the recognition of this work-related death and will do our utmost to take preventive measures.”
It is estimated 200 deaths in Japan were linked to overwork in 2017.
A Zambian nurse, Elizabeth Mwewa, has confessed her sins on her sick bed as she has asked God for forgiveness. What did she do?
The nurse who used to work at The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Zambia confessed that she has exchanged over 5,000 babies during 12 years of service.
"I have terminal cancer and I know I will be dying soon. I wish to confess my sins before God and before all the affected people especially those who were giving birth at UTH during my service," she said.
According to the elderly woman, she is now born again and did not want to hide anything.
"I have nothing to hide, In the 12 years I worked in the maternity ward at UTH, I swapped close to 5,000 babies," she confessed. Mwewa added that it became a habit and she used to do it for fun while acknowledging that she has sinned against God and Zambians and would want them to forgive her.
"I know I sinned against God and may he forgive me for that. I am also asking Zambians to forgive me for the evil things I was doing to innocent children. I have caused some faithful couples to divorce after going for DNA Tests," she said.
She also put the blame on the devil whom she claimed was using her to commit the sins she's most regretful about.
"I have caused many mothers to breastfeed children who are not theirs biologically. I don't want to go to Hell for that, I'm really sorry I have sinned a lot. Please forgive me," she begged.
Mwewa also added that kids born between 1983 to 1995 at the hospital should check themselves particularly if they look different from their other siblings. “If you were born in UTH between the years 1983 to 1995, chances are your parents may not be your biological parents. I had developed a habit of swapping newly born babies just for fun," she said.
"So take a good look at your siblings, if for example everyone is light and you are darkie… you are that child and I am really sorry for that," she added.
Dr Stephen Urueye received his first salary as a House Officer with Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LUTH) the same day he was stabbed to death, his colleagues have disclosed.
Urueye was among the 8,000 students that graduated at the 50th convocation ceremonies of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Wednesday. He died a day later.
Two persons were on Friday arrested as his colleagues protested his killing by armed robbers.
Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), who described those arrested as “hoodlums,” said they were arrested at the spot where the late Urueye was stabbed.
According to his colleagues, he was the only child of his mother, who is a widow.
He was stabbed near the teaching hospital’s gate, Idi-Araba, Mushin while returning to LUTH by armed robbers, who wanted to rob him of his valuables.
With blood gushing out from his thigh, he ran into the LUTH compound where he was taken to the Accident and Emergency Centre (A&E). He was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
There, his fellow House Officers and senior doctors battled all through the night to save him. Their efforts proved abortive when he gave up the ghost around 3am on Friday.
The late Urueye’s remains have been deposited at the mortuary.
Emotions ran high in LUTH, Idi-Araba on Friday as soon as news of his death broke with many medical students of LUTH embarking on a protest.
The protesters carried placards with various inscriptions, calling for justice for the victim. According to them, Idi-Araba has been overtaken by armed thugs. They called on the government and security agencies to beef up security in the area.
Some of his colleagues and other Nigerians took to Twitter to lament Urueye’s murder and also seek justice for him with the hashtag #JusticeForStephen.
They lamented that they have complained severally to the management of the hospital as regards incessant attacks of fellow students in Idi-Araba by armed hoodlums.
