After persistent cheating rumors and breakup buzz, it’s over for Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter.
The talk show host is divorcing her husband of nearly 22 years, Williams’ attorney confirms. A source said Williams, who filed in Essex County, NJ, served Hunter with divorce papers at 6:30 a.m.
According to court documents, Williams and Hunter are splitting because of “irreconcilable differences.” Williams, who resides in Livingston, NJ, is seeking to establish an “appropriate amount of child support” as well as “other further relief as the Court deems fair and equitable.”
“Thank you to everyone for respecting the family’s privacy during this time,” the personal representative for Williams said in a statement. “Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together,” the statement further said.
What a wasted life! The identity of the Nigerian lady who was killed in Italy over alleged poor performance during s*x, has been revealed. The deceased identified as Blessing Benedicta Daniels but popularly known as Anita, a Nigerian runs girl in Italy, was murdered by Leopoldo Scalici, 40, for failing to satisfy him after he paid her for s*x.
According to Italian website, Modena Today, Scalici approached Benedicta on the streets of Modena Nord for s*x over the weekend. He loaded her on board the van on which he was travelling to reach a secluded place where they were believed to have had s*x.
Benedicta was reportedly killed after the duo had had s*xual inter-course and an argument had broken out, which led to Scalici hitting the Nigerian lady with a heavy object on her face and head.
It was however speculated that Scalici hit Benedicta because he wasn’t satisfied s*xually. Italian police have detained Scalici, after he voluntarily confessed to the crime. Sigh!
A mum was filmed brutally kicking her child model daughter for allegedly being too tired to perform.
Footage of the horrific moment shows three-year-old Niu Niu standing with her back to the woman.
Moments later, the mum delivers a kick to her backside, forcing the little girl to stumble forward.
Niu Niu has reportedly worked as a successful model for a number of clothing companies across China.
The clip of her being kicked in the city of Hangzhou has been viewed over 37 million times, with thousands slamming the mum's actions.
It also became the number one trending topic on Chinese social media site Weibo.
Users were outraged at what they have called “child abuse", claiming the mum is exploiting her daughter for money.
The angry backlash has forced an apology from the mum, aged 32, who posted under the account ‘Niu Niu’s Mum’ and shared a short note saying sorry.
In the statement she says: “I had no intention of harming or abusing her, and I’m sorry for any misunderstanding my exaggerated actions may have caused.
“I want to reiterate: my daughter receives the utmost care and love.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
Her apology has attracted more than 50,000 comments in less than four hours.
The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Thursday struck out the consolidated appeals of Rivers APC and Tonye Cole, the supposed factional candidate of the APC in Rivers State for lacking in merit.
Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohamed in a lead judgment sustained the preliminary objection by PDP Counsel, Emmanuel Ukala (SAN).
The Acting CJN said: "the Preliminary Objection is meritorious, accordingly the Appeal is incompetent and is hereby dismissed".
Counsel to the PDP had urged the court to strike out the appeal or dismiss it in its entirety as the reliefs sought by the APC could only be granted at the court of appeal and not the Supreme Court.
Okala argued that the appeal by APC was filed outside of the time provided by law, maintaining that the Supreme Court takes seriously its rules on filing of notice of appeal and non-compliance to those rules renders the process incompetent.
Earlier, Counsel to the APC, J.S. Okutepa (SAN) urged the Supreme Court to overrule its decision delivered in the consolidated appeals which held that the appeal before it was a pre-election matter.
He argued that the Supreme Court could set aside its decision if it was taken contrary to the constitution.
Counsel to INEC, Don Umalor, said INEC did not file any brief on the appeal and likes to remain neutral and non-partisan. He submitted that INEC leaves the matter to the decision of the court.
The Federal High court in Port Harcourt had on January 7, nullified the direct and indirect primaries conducted by the two factions of the APC in the state.
Justice Kolawole Omotosho, who presided over the case also restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from presenting Tonye Cole and Magnus Abe as governorship candidates in the general elections.
INEC executed that order an excluded the APC from the ballot. The elections have been concluded with the incumbent governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike duly re-elected.
Three market women - Fatimoh, 47, Mutiat, 32 and Dupe, 41 - who allegedly assaulted two policemen while on duty, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The three women, all residents of Mushin, are standing trial on a four-count of breach of peace, resisting arrest, serious assault and conspiracy.
According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Aondohemba Koti, the defendants committed the offence on March 23 at Mushin, Lagos State.
He said that the defendants assaulted Assistant Superintendent of Police Abayomi Adejumo and Inspector Oluseun Adelaja while trying to restore peace in a situation.
“The policemen were assaulted when they were trying to make peace between the defendants and some electricity officials. Koti said that the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by seizing the ladder, property of Eko Electricity Distribution Company over disconnection of power supply.
“The defendants also obstructed James, Adewale and Gideon, the electricity officials, from performing their duties. After the officials disconnected the defendants’ electricity supply, they seized the ladder and sat on it, ordering them to reconnect back the light.
“The electricity officials called the police when they could no longer handle the situation. The defendants still refused to release the ladder and instead, they beat up the policemen. The defendants resisted arrest but were later forced to the station,’’ the prosecutor said.
The women, however, denied the charges.
In her ruling, Magistrate Mrs M.O Tanimola, granted the defendants bail of N60,000 each with one surety each in like sum, NAN reports. All the sureties should be gainfully employed and show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
After nearly 30 years in power, Sudan president Omar al-Bashir has been ousted and arrested, the country's defence minister says. Speaking on state TV, Awad Ibn Ouf said the army had decided to oversee a two-year transitional period followed by elections.
He also said a three-month state of emergency was being put in place.
Protests against Bashir, who has governed Sudan since 1989, have been under way for several months.
A bill recently introduced in Texas would make it possible for women to get the death penalty for having abortions.
The bill would criminalize all abortions, with no exceptions for rape or incest, and would make it possible to charge a woman with homicide for having the procedure, according to the Washington Post. The state of Texas allows capital punishment for homicide.
Rep. Tony Tinderholt, a Republican state legislator who introduced the bill, says it would make people “consider the repercussions” of having sex.
“My bill simply accomplishes one goal,” Tinderholt said in a statement to media on Wednesday. “It brings equal treatment for unborn human beings under the law.”
The bill, which was discussed at a hearing on Monday, is unlikely to pass. And it falls far outside the mainstream of the anti-abortion movement, which has generally opposed punishing women for having abortions. “I am absolutely appalled by any proposal that would suggest prosecuting a woman for seeking an abortion or obtaining an abortion,” Catherine Glenn Foster, president of the anti-abortion group Americans United for Life, told Vox.
But the bill may be part of a larger drive by abortion opponents to introduce laws that could lead to a challenge to Roe v. Wade. And reproductive rights activists fear that Tinderholt’s proposal is a preview of what could happen if the landmark abortion decision is overturned.
“Clearly it is a terrifying example of the lengths the anti-choice GOP are willing to go to punish women,” Adrienne Kimmell, the vice president of communications and strategic research at NARAL Pro-Choice America, told Vox.

The management of University of Ibadan has suspended one of its student, Ojo Aderemi, for leading a protest in 2017 over the school’s inability to provide identity cards for students.
Mr Aderemi, who spoke with Premium Times on Thursday, said the institution has handed him a four-semester suspension.
This means the 300 level student will lose two academic years.
In May 2017, after becoming the students’ union president, Mr Aderemi presided over a congress that resolved protested the failure of the university to provide them identity cards.
The students also demanded for the use of electric-powered cooking appliance in their hostels. The peaceful protests forced the university to be shut for weeks.
The university also suspended students’ union activities in the school.
Mr Aderemi, on Thursday, told a PT correspondent that the university suspended him on Wednesday for his role in the 2017 protest.
“I was informed about the panel’s decision yesterday,” he said. “I have been suspended for four semesters,” he told the correspondent.
Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has been banned for eight games after being found guilty of abusing referee Jesus Gil Manzano during his side's 2-0 loss to Barcelona.
The Spain international, who rejoined the Madrid club from Chelsea in 2018 -- four years after leaving Diego Simeone's side for Stamford Bridge -- insulted the official's mother, according to Manzano's match report from the La Liga fixture on April 6.

Yahaya said he heard she converted in London and she deserves to die.
He wrote: “Kadaria, you converted to Christianity in London. I was appalled when I heard her describing herself as a passionate citizen of Zamfara. By Islamic tenets, Kadaria is a walking corps, she’s supposed to have been killed as an apostate. She’s a condemned soul”.

Sudan's military has overthrow and arrested President Omar al-Bashir after months of protests against his nearly 30-year rule, according to the country's defence minister.
In a statement on Thursday, General Awad Ibnouf said Bashir was taken to a "safe place" after the "toppling of the regime" and also announced the formation of a military-led transitional government, which will rule for two years.
"The armed forces will take power with representation of the people to pave the waly for Sudanese people to live in dignity," Ibnouf said.
The defence minister also declared a three-month state of emergency, a nationwide ceasefire and the suspension of the 2005 constitution.
All of Sudan's government's institutions, including the national assembly and national council of ministers, have been dissolved, Ibnouf added, assuring that Sudan would soon prepare for "free and fair" elections.
A housewife, Aishatu, on Thursday prayed a Sharia Court in Minna for the dissolution of her marriage, saying she has fallen out of love with her husband.
Aishatu told the court that she no longer adores her husband, Tanimu, whom she has been married to for 10 years without a child.
“My husband feeds and takes good care of me and does every other thing expected of a man but I don’t love him anymore.
“And that is why I am asking this honourable court to dissolve our marriage.
Tanimu, however, said he still loved his wife and wouldn’t want them to go their separate ways.
He prayed the court to give him some time to try and prevail on his wife to change her stance.
The presiding judge, Ahmed Bima, advised the couple to patch things up, adding that marriage required patience and understanding.
Bima adjourned the matter until April 29 for a report of settlement.
