LOL! Atiku Not A Nigerian, Can't Be President Of Nigeria - APC Tells Tribunal

The All Progressive Congress (APC) has filed a motion at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja that the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the poll, Atiku Abubakar, is not a Nigerian and therefore not qualified to have stood for the election.

The Party claimed that Atiku is a Cameroonian and not a Nigerian citizen and his petition against President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC candidate, should be dismissed for lacking in merit.

In a reply to the petition of Atiku and the PDP praying for their declaration as the lawful winner of the presidential poll, the APC said that the 11.1 million votes recorded in favor of the two petitioners should be voided and considered a waste by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The APC’s reply to the petition, filed by its lead counsel, Lateef Fagbemi faulted the candidacy of Atiku in the election insisting that as a Cameroonian, he ought not to have taken part in the presidential poll of Nigeria in the first instance.

The Party averred that Atiku was born on November 25, 1946, in Jada, Adamawa, in Northern Cameroon and is, therefore, a citizen of Cameroon and not a Nigerian by birth.

Going down memory lane, APC claimed that prior to 1919, Cameroon was being administered by Germany and that following the defeat of Germany in World War 1, which end d in 1918, Cameroon became part of a League of Nations mandate territory which consisted of French Cameroon and British Cameroon in 1919.

APC further argued that in 1961, a plebiscite was held in British Cameroon to determine whether the people preferred to stay in Cameroon or align with Nigeria.

According to the party, while Northern Cameroon preferred a union with Nigeria, Southern Cameroon chose alignment with the mother country and that it was as a result of the plebiscite that Northern Cameroon, which included Adamawa, became a part of Nigeria.

APC, therefore, said that contrary to the assertion of Atiku in his petition, he (Atiku) had no right to be voted for as a candidate in the election to the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria held on February 23, 2019.

The party averred that by reason of Atiku not having qualified to contest the election, all votes purportedly cast for him and the PDP in the February 23 election are wasted votes.

APC also faulted the allegations of non-compliance with relevant laws made by Atiku and PDP, adding that their failure to make specific references to the compliance issue has a fatal effect on the petition and therefore the petition did not have enough material to justify the ground of any relief sought.

Atiku had in his petition with reference number: CA/PEPC/002/2019 faulted the conduct of the February 23 Presidential Election on the ground of non-compliance with relevance electoral laws and other malpractices such as intimidation of voters, the unlawful arrest of his sympathizers and the harassment by soldiers and other law enforcement agents of those wishing to vote for him.

The party, therefore, prayed the tribunal to uphold the victory of its candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, who polled 15,191,347 to emerge the winner and his subsequent declaration as president-elect by INEC while also urging that the petition against the victory should be dismissed for having no cause of action.

This case will sure be interesting, as Atiku has said he will reveal how he won the election to the court.

Woman Stripped Publicly By Taxi Man In Abuja

Chinedu Ukabu, an Abuja-based taxi driver, on Friday appeared at a Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stripping and assaulting a female passenger in public.

Ukabu, who resides in Gwagwa Karmo in Abuja, was arraigned on

3-count of criminal force, assault and mischief. The prosecution, Mrs. Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that the matter was reported on April 10 at the Utako Police Station Abuja, by the complainant, Chukwu Chinaza of 294, Owners Occupier Kubwa Abuja.

Ukagha said that on the same date at about 3:30pm the complainant boarded the defendant’s taxi from Wuse Zone 3 to Berger roundabout.

She said along the way, Chinaza had a little argument with the defendant, and, on getting to Berger bus stop, Ukabu, with criminal intention, forced the complainant out of the said car.

“In the process of pushing her from the car, Ukabu criminally and violently tore the complainant’s cloth valued at N25,000 and stripped her n*ked in the public,’’ Ukagha said.

Ukabu, however, denied the allegations.

The prosecutor prayed the court to grant her date to open her case against the defendant.

The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N25,000 and one surety in like sum. He ordered that the surety must be a Grade Level 8 officer in the civil service and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

The judge also said that the surety must present letter of appointment and current utility bill in his name to the court registrar.

Maiwada, who said that the surety must present any valid means of identification as part of the bail condition, adjourned the case till May 15 for hearing.

Liverpool Legend & Captain Tommy Smith Dies At 74

Liverpool legend Tommy Smith has passed away at the age of 74. The former Reds captain died on Friday afternoon in his sleep, his family confirmed to the Liverpool Echo.

Smith gained the nickname 'Anfield Iron' during his playing days on Merseyside, becoming an integral part of the all-conquering Reds side which accumulated silverware during the sixties and seventies.

Smith was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in October 2014, and battled bravely with the illness until his death.


Smith's daughter Janette Simpson told the Liverpool Echo: 'Dad died very peacefully in his sleep shortly after 4.30pm today at Green Heyes Nursing home in Park Road, Waterloo, Crosby.

'I was on my way to see him when he passed a couple of minutes before I arrived.

'He had been growing increasingly frail and suffering from a variety of ailments over the last three months especially.

'We are obviously all devastated.'

Obama, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg Pay Tribute To Rapper Nipsey Hussle

Former U.S. President Barack Obama sent a letter, Stevie Wonder sang, and Snoop Dogg called slain rapper Nipsey Hussle a “peace advocate” at a Los Angeles memorial on Thursday attended by family members, friends and thousands of fans.

Obama wrote a letter to the family that was read by Karen Civil, Hussle’s friend and business partner. The former president praised Hussle’s attempts to revitalize the gang-plagued neighborhood where he was raised, and where he was gunned down last month.

“While most folks look at the Crenshaw neighborhood where he grew up and see only gangs, bullets and despair, Nipsey saw potential. He saw hope,” Obama’s letter said, referencing his efforts to build a skills-training center and a co-working space.


The 21,000-capacity Staples Center, a sports and pop concert venue, was packed with fans wearing white and blue for the three-hour memorial. It was followed by a 25-mile (40-km) procession through the streets of south Los Angeles.

Fellow California rapper Snoop Dogg recalled Hussle’s former connections with the notorious Crips gang that the musician later parlayed into efforts to combat gang violence.

Hussle, 33, was shot on March 31 outside a clothing store he owned in south Los Angeles. Last week, a stampede erupted at a local vigil for Hussle after reports of a gunman in the crowd.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave us a good Crip, the late great neighborhood Nip. Rest in peace,” Snoop Dogg said. He called the Grammy-nominated singer “a peace advocate” because of his work with all members of the community.

Man Steals Eight Pairs Of Shoes From Mosque

A 33-year-old man, Ibrahim Shehu, on Friday appeared in an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing eight pairs of shoes from a mosque during prayers.

The Police charged Shehu, whose address was not provided, with stealing. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that the defendant committed the offence over a period of eight months at the Okobaba Aiyetoro Central Mosque, Ebute Meta.

He said that the defendant was caught with the shoes belonging to Balogun Mukaila and Saheed Ewenla, the complainants.


The prosecutor said that the eight pairs of shoes were valued at N40,000.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the section stipulates three-year jail term for stealing.

The Magistrate, Mr. Tolu Agoro, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

Agoro ordered that one of the sureties should be a leader in Arewa community.

The case was adjourned until May 24 for trial.

Court Strikes Out Shittu’s Suit Challenging APC

Justice P.I. Ajoku of a Federal High Court in Ibadan, on Friday struck out a suit filed the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, against the All Progressives Congress for excluding his name from the list of gubernatorial aspirants in the March 9 General Elections over his inability to present his NYSC certificate.

NAN reports that Shittu who was screened out of the APC governorship primaries in Oyo State for not having the mandatory NYSC certificate, filed the suit marked FHC/IB/CS/111/2018.

In her ruling, Ajoku said that the case was struck out due to the fact that Shittu did not file the case within the time stipulated by law.

A clip has emerged online, showing the shocking moment a driver slumped to the ground publicly in Abuja to the amazement of observers. The heartbreaking incident happened at Zone 4, Abuja.

Seriously? Gunmen Attack Gov. Ajimobi's Boys While Moving N357m Out Of His Residence

There is confusion in the Oyo State government following the loss of a sum of N357million while it was being conveyed to some banks in Ibadan, capital of the state, according to SR's report.

The money was moved out of the Oluyole residence of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his wife Florence, but those conveying the money had not reached any of their destinations when they were attacked by unknown gunmen, who made away with the money.

Sahara Reporters understands that the man who drove the vehicle, an old man known as ‘Baba Obe’, is a trusted hand, as he has been around the Ajimobi family for decades. In fact, he drove Ajimobi’s father, who was once a member of the Old Western Region House of Assembly, for a long time in his lifetime. These days, he drives Ajimobi's last born.

“He was just drafted in to do this,” said a source familiar with the occurrence.

“The money was moved out in a Toyota Hiace bus. They were going to deposit some of it in Access Bank and the other in Heritage Bank, but they were attacked on Ring Road, just before the roundabout where a road leads to Iyaganku and the other to Apata. Everything happened between 7:20am and 7:35am.”

SR understands that the man detailed to oversee the movement of the money, simply identified as ‘Semiu’, was wounded during the attack, his head hit with a gun; and that the money was passed on to her by Damola, a personal assistant to the Governor’s wife who is also the daughter of Segun Bolarinwa, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security.

Semiu has since been arrested, especially as the Oyo government hierarchy believe that only an insider could have known that the money was being moved out.

When SR contacted Olugbenga Fadeyi, spokesman of the Police in Oyo State, to ask if he was aware of any robbery incident at Ring Road, he said he wasn’t. But he asked for an hour to find out. One hour later, Fadeyi confirmed that no such official report had been made.

“It is possible that there was a robbery but if no official report was made, we won’t know,” he said.

The Oyo State government has been in the news lately for unpleasant reasons relating to shady movement of funds. In March, part of over N1billion moved out of the State House by Ajimobi between the night of Friday 22 and Saturday 23 was confirmed missing.

Two days later, SR reported that Ajimobi suspended Mr. Niyi Ajao, his Special Adviser on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), without pay for mismanaging election campaign funds.

Only last week, Godwin Obode, former Special Assistant on Youth and Student Matters to Ajimobi, was arrested by men of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) following his refusal to return the N18.5million he received from the APC in Oyo State for the elections but did not spend.

Kate Middleton's Great Aunt Dies Aged 107

The Duchess of Cambridge's oldest relative has passed away aged 107. Alice Tomlinson, formerly Goldsmith, is the older sister of Kate's grandfather Ronald Goldsmith, making her the Duchess's great aunt.

But Mrs Tomlinson never met her royal relative following a family rift many years ago. According to the Independent , Ron and Alice had a falling out in 1978 which is said to have split the family.

Kate's mum Carole has reportedly had little contact with her dad's family after she married Michael Middleton in 1980.

None of the family were invited to the Royal Wedding. Mrs Tomlinson, a keen gardener, passed away at her home in Freshwater on the Isle of Wight on April 5. She leaves behind two daughters, cousins of Kate Middleton, Patricia Charman and Linda Burman, and four grandchildren.

Teen Girl Gang R*ped By At Least 10 Men At Pal's House Party

An underage girl says she was gang r-ped by at least 10 men at a friend's house party while her supposed mate just laughed at her.

The 17-year-old victim, who cannot be named, bravely told of her ordeal to help others. In a video she put social media, she said: "My so-called friend saw me there, lying on the bed n-ked. She looked at me, laughed and went away.

"They kept raping me and other guys came in too. One after the other they kept on."

Police in Florencio Varela, Argentina, are reportedly investigating 10 men after the victim claimed she was drugged at the party.


One suspect took the girl up to a bedroom where at least nine others joined him, judicial sources told local media.

After the ordeal, the teenager said she was almost unconscious in the bedroom when the homeowner allegedly raped her before asking her to take a shower and leave.

When she left the house, she bumped into a former boyfriend who convinced her to report the case to the police.

The legal age of consent in Argentina is 18.


Reports said the teenager approached a police officer who accompanied her back to the station to file a complaint.

According to judicial sources, the victim managed to identify the suspects. A medical examination also proved that she had suffered signs of sexual abuse.
The police have now charged nine suspects with sexual abuse, including a 14-year-old boy who is under the supervision of a juvenile court, according to local media.

A 21-year-old man has been also charged, but his current whereabouts are unknown and an international arrest warrant has been issued.

The investigation continues.

Horrified Wife Screams As Husband Is Mauled While Petting Lion Through Enclosure

A tourist nearly had his arm ripped off by a lioness after trying to pet it in front of his horrified wife.

Shocking mobile phone footage shows Pieter Nortje reaching into an enclosure through a fence and stroking a lion.

The lion walks away, then Mr Nortje approaches a lioness and pets her head. But the lioness suddenly bites on to his arm and refuses to let go as she attempts to pull him towards the enclosure.

The 55-year-old can be seen struggling to fight off the big cat but luckily it lets go before doing further damage.


His wife can be heard shouting: "It's biting him, it's biting him!" as the lioness locks its teeth on the mans's forearm.

Mr Nortje was said to be celebrating his 10th wedding anniversary with his wife, Ilze, at the luxury Tikwe River Lodge in Virgina, Free State Province in South Africa.

He was reportedly rushed to Pelonomi Hospital in Bloemfontein after suffering a septic shock - a life-threatening condition caused by severe infection and requires emergency medical treatment in intensive care.

Zone 2 CSP, Dolapo Badmus, Ten Others Redeployed

The Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 2 Command, Onikan ,Lagos, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Dolapo Badmus has been redeployed to the Provost Department of the Force Headquarters Abuja .

Also redeployed to various departments were 10 other senior police officers.

The IGP has ordered the officers to resume duty in their new posting with immediate effect as their transfer has been back dated to March 2019.


A letter from the Police Service Commission ( PSC) signed by Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Alkali Baba Usman for the IGP ,stated that Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Salisu Gawuna with Force number 5733 has been transferred from Niger State to Kastina State while Force number 87058 CSP Dolapo Badmus has been moved from the Zone 2 police Command , Lagos to the Provosts department of Force Headquarters ,Abuja.

Other senior officers were also transferred from one state to the other.

AIG Usman advised that the officers should as a matter of urgency resume accordingly in their new posting.

Hospital Accidentally Plays Porn In Waiting Lounge

A hospital in China has reportedly played pornography in its waiting lounge by accident in front of adults and children.

Horrified patients had to flee the room after seeing erotic footage appearing on a TV screen while waiting to see their dentists, according to news reports.

Police have been called to investigate the case, a spokesperson told reporters.

The embarrassing incident took place yesterday at the dental department of Chang'an Hospital in the city of Dongguan, reported Btime.com, an affiliation of Beijing Radio and Television Network.


The news site released a video filmed by a female eyewitness who can be heard saying: 'I am in Chang'an Hospital. What are they playing in broad daylight? It's too much.'

A spokesperson at the hospital told the website that police were investigating the matter.

The comprehensive public hospital has 40 departments and nearly 1,000 employees, according to its website.

The spokesperson said officers had checked the relevant equipment, including the TV set and Wi-Fi devices, but were yet to find the culprit.

Pope Francis Kisses Feet Of South Sudan Leaders

Pope Francis knelt and kissed the feet of South Sudan's rival leaders in an unprecedented act of humbleness to encourage them to strengthen the African country's faltering peace process.

At the closed two-day retreat in the Vatican for the African leaders, the pope asked South Sudan's president and opposition leader to proceed with the peace agreement despite growing difficulties.

Onlookers appeared to be stunned as the 82-year-old pope, who suffers from chronic leg pain, was helped by aides as he knelt with difficulty to kiss the shoes of the leaders and several other people in the room.


The pope usually holds a ritual washing of the feet with prisoners on Holy Thursday, but has never performed such a show of deference to political leaders.

'I express my heartfelt hope that hostilities will finally cease, that the armistice will be respected, that political and ethnic divisions will be surmounted, and that there will be a lasting peace for the common good of all those citizens who dream of beginning to build the nation,' the pope said of South Sudan in his closing statement.

Boy, 14, Drowns In Stagnant Pool In Kano

A 14- year-old boy, Huzaifa Abdulrashid, has drowned while bathing in a stagnant pool called “Promise” at Gwarzo Road in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.

 The spokesman of the Kano State Fire Service, Mr Saidu Mohammed, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident happened on Friday morning when the deceased went to take his bath.

“We received a distress call today from one Malam Habibu Ibrahim at about 07:35 a.m. that Abdulrashid’s body was found floating in the water. “On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at about 07:43a.m.

“Abdulrashid was found dead and his corpse was handed over to the Ward Head of Dandago, Alhaji Abubakar Sani,’’ he said. Mohammed advised the general public to be more careful when bathing in open water.
