Atiku Not A Nigerian, Unqualified To Contest Presidency- APC

The All Progressives Congress has said that Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, is not a citizen of Nigeria by birth and ought not to have even been allowed in the first place to contest the election.

APC said this in response to the election petition filed before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

APC, the third respondent to the petition, faulted the grounds of the petition, adding that Atiku “is not a citizen of Nigeria by birth and ought not to have even been allowed in the first place to contest the election.”

APC also faulted the claim by the petitioners that they obtained the authentic results of the February 23, 2019 election from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s server showing that they won the election.

INEC had, on February 27, 2019, declared the APC alongside its candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, winner of the election with 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku, whom it said polled 11,262,978 votes.

But the petitioners stated in their 139-page petition anchored on five grounds that “from the data in the 1st respondent’s (INEC’s) server…the true, actual and correct results” from “state to state computation” showed that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.

They said the results were the total votes scored by the candidates in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, as there was “no report on sever” about the results from Rivers State as of February 25, 2019.

By calculation, Atiku and PDP claimed to have defeated Buhari by 1,615,302 votes.

In its reply filed through its lead counsel, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the APC said the data and computation of results on state-by-state basis were not legitimate.

The party stated that only the results declared by INEC were authentic.

The party averred that Atiku was born on Nov. 25, 1946 in Jada, Adamawa, in Northern Cameroon and was therefore a citizen of Cameroon and not a Nigerian by birth.

According to APC, contrary to the assertion of Atiku in his petition, he has no right to be voted for as a candidate in the election to the office of president of Nigeria.

Apart from the issue of the origin of Atiku, the APC asserted that most of the claims contained in his petition had become statute barred and that the tribunal was not the appropriate place to entertain such.

The APC specifically said that the issue of the educational qualification of Buhari as raised by Atiku could not be treated by the Tribunal.

Reggie Bush Pushing To Raise $100k For Nipsey’s Kids As A Way Of Tribute To Him

Ex-NFL star is making sure Nipsey Hussle's kids will be taken care of -- donating $10,000 to them and hoping to raise over $90k more.

Unclear how close Bush was to the late rapper, but as a San Diego native and a former USC superstar -- it's clear the SoCal legend was able to touch Reggie in some way during his life.

So, Bush is giving back to Hussle in the wake of his tragic death by donating $10,000 to Nipsey's two children and encouraging his followers to chip in as well.

"[Nipsey] touched a lot of lives in a positive way. He wanted to make a difference in his community, and communities like it all around the world," Bush said.

"As a tribute to Nipsey, I would like to offer support to his children, and all funds from this GoFundMe will be transferred directly into a trust that was created solely for his legacy, his two children, Kross & Emani."

Reggie added, "I'm making a donation to start this off. Please join me in honoring him in this way."

One NFL player has already contributed -- Patriots wideout Phillip Dorsett donated $1,000 to the campaign just an hour after Bush made the announcement.

Bush says his fundraising campaign will end on April 19.

Family Of ‘Resurrected’ Elliot Speaks After His Death.. .He Caused Us So Much Pain, They Say

While he got the world in hysteria and shock for the past weeks for being resurrected and dying again, all that Thabiso Proud Mlanje who is popularly known as “Elliot” or Brighton Moyo has left are deep wounds in his family back in Zimbabwe that they do not know when and how they will be healed.

Thabiso Mlaje who was 28 years old at the time of his death shocked his family because soon after they buried him at his late father’s homestead in Dandanda Village in Lupane under Chief Mabhikwa they were summoned by the police who revealed to them that he was wanted for fraud in connection with his “resurrection” back in South Africa.

“We didn’t know that he had died and resurrected. Trouble started after the funeral because the police arraigned us and told us that he had been wanted for fraud,” said Thabiso’s father-in-law, Bernard Mayendayenda Sibanda.

A grief-stricken Bernard said his son-in-law had caused him so much trouble.

“I am still in great distress because of what my son-in-law did. I have had to deal with the police concerning his whole resurrection scheme and now since he is dead I have to answer questions I don’t know. It causes me pain because I didn’t know anything about what happened in South Africa. This man has put me and my family in so much trouble”.

Thabiso’s grandmother Emily Moyo said it hurt her to see her grandson arriving home in a coffin after spending seven years without communicating with her.

“I raised my grandson single-handedly because both his parents died in Harare when he was young. I only managed to send him to Gegeme Primary School but he could not go further with his studies because of financial constraints. That is how he decided to go to South Africa to make a living. Now what pains me is that it’s been seven years since he went to South Africa and he had never set foot home or contacted me in those seven years. I only got to see him as a corpse. We buried him right next to his grandfather because when he was sick he kept telling his in-laws that he wants to lie next to his grandfather.

“At the time of his death he was constantly vomiting blood, it was such a painful death. I wish someone could properly explain to me what was happening in South Africa because I hear he was once dead for three days and was resurrected by a pastor,” said Moyo.

Lauren London’s Son With Lil Wayne Speaks At Nipsey’s Celebration Of Life

Nipsey Hussle's funeral went down yesterday in Los Angeles and his family and Lauren London were all there to pay him a last respect.

Lauren and Nipsey's fam pulled up to Friday's funeral service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills ... looking moody as they say goodbye to their son, brother, father, relative, lover and friend.

Lauren's flanked by her and Nipsey's son, Kross Asghedom and her child with Lil Wayne, Kameron Carter, who shared a dream he had about Nipsey rising out of the ocean during Thursday's celebration of life at Staples Center.

Nipsey's funeral is a private affair ... but you can tell just how much he meant to the people in his inner circle because there's a fairly large gathering in front of his casket.

Friday's funeral service culminates two extremely difficult weeks for Nipsey's loved ones and putting him six feet deep is sure to stir up profound emotions. It's a sobering scene for sure.

Nipsey's gone forever, but he'll never be forgotten in L.A.

Piers Morgan, Cardi B Caught In Earthquake Terror

Piers Morgan has been caught up in a terrifying earthquake in Los Angeles.

The Good Morning Britain host was woken in the middle of the night as tremors shook his property, which is just a mile away from the epicentre.

"Well, the bed most definitely moved for me..." he tweeted.

"Just been woken up in LA by a 2.8 magnitude earthquake. Epicentre a mile from my house in Beverly Hills."

However, he insisted it was just a "smallish rattle-and-roller," but conceded it was "unnerving" as "California's due another 'Big One'."

Rapper Cardi B didn't play it quite so cool, tweeting, "Ommmgg I never felt a earthquake till today. B*tch I'm scare!"

But Piers harshly told her to calm down it, commenting, "It was only 2.8. Do get a grip, Ms B."

Piers owns a luxury home in the exclusive suburb of Beverly Hills which he bought for $5.4million back in 2011.

His home is included on the local celebrity spotted bus tours that run through the city - much to his wife Celia Walden's horror.

Audience Laughed As Comedian Died On Stage Thinking It Was 'Part Of The Act'

Audience members who watched stand-up comedian Ian Cognito suffer a fatal heart attack on stage have admitted they laughed along thinking it was 'part of the act'.

John Ostojak described how the funnyman "sat on a chair and laid back for five minutes" at the end of his set at The Atic bar in Bicester two nights ago.

Just 10 minutes earlier he'd joked about having a stroke, quipping, "Imagine having a stroke and waking up speaking Welsh.'"

And John Ostojak, who was at the Lone Wolf Comedy Club with a friend, told the BBC everyone believed that when Cognito took a seat at the end of the show and fell silent, it was a joke.

"We thought it was part of the act," he told the BBC .

"We came out feeling really sick, we just sat there for five minutes watching him, laughing at him."

The compere eventually approached the stage and an ambulance was called at 10.20pm.
Audience members were asked to leave as staff gave chest compressions in a fruitless bid to revive him.

Reports say he had been taking medication for a heart condition.

LASU 3rd Class Graduate Becomes UNILAG Best Graduating PhD Student

From Third Class at LASU to overall best PhD graduate at UNILAG
Tribune's Tunbosun Ogundare writes on the striking achievement of Oluwaseyi Ajibade, who recently graduated with the best Ph.D thesis in his set from the University of Lagos.

Ajibade stole the show at the 50th convocation ceremonies of the University of Lagos held last week. They were 5,405 graduands in all from the Postgraduate School of the university for the occasion. 150 of them, including Ajibade, are PhD holders, while 4,771 have master’s degree and the rest diploma.

But Ajibade, 37, stood out from the rest as he was called repeatedly to the
Podium to receive his numerous prizes and also have a handshake with the eminent personalities on stage, including the chancellor, pro-chancellor and vice chancellor of the university, Dr Abubakar Ibn Umar El-Kanemi, Dr Wale Babalakin and Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, respectively.

He was, indeed, a cynosure at the event. Interestingly, 13 years ago, Ajibade’s story was not that inspiring as he graduated for his first degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo, with Third Class.

Though, he had been somehow brilliant right from his primary school days up to the time he was at the Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and also at Nigerian Navy Secondary School, also in Abeokuta, where he had his junior and senior secondary school education respectively, he graduated from LASU unsung.

“I graduated with a Third Class degree from LASU. And that should be due to a number of factors which I may not be able to explain,” he said.

But today, Ajibade’s story is different. He was a toast of all at the convocation. This is not only because he has turned out to be the overall best PhD graduate of his set; he graduated from the prestigious ivory tower that prides itself as ‘the university of first choice and the nation’s pride.’

Ajibade, who hails from Lagos Island, was ahead of 149 other graduands in his set, including Olumide Oyebade, who won the best PhD thesis in Humanities and also the renowned comedian, Helen Paul, who bagged a PhD in Theatre Arts, to lead the pack.

For that, he won the overall best PhD Thesis prize in the Postgraduate School, and also in the field of Science and Engineering. He also received a cash prize from the institution’s alumni association and from the Postgraduate School, among others.

Ajibade studied Metallurgical and Material Engineering and not mechanical engineering which he studied at undergraduate level. He said he opted for the course because that is where his strength lies.

He explained that he caught the vision in his 300 level days at LASU when he was the only student in a class of over 120 people who scored ‘A’ in Physical Metallurgy, a general course for all engineering students.

“Many students usually don’t pass the course, but I did very well in it,” he said.

His thesis at UNILAG, entitled ‘Developmental and Optimisation of Dual Particle Reinforced Polymer Composites for Automobile Brake Pad Application’, is centred on the use of conventional materials to develop automobile brake pad.

“I hope the project would be developed for mass use,” he said.

However, Ajibade did not come by this achievement on a platter. He told Saturday Tribune that it was a product of sacrifice, hard work, commitment, diligence, and determination, coupled with God’s benevolence.

“So having had a third class at LASU, I said to myself that I would need to work very hard to enable me to move from that level to the highest obtainable grade in UNILAG,” he declared. “And God saw my commitment and crowned the effort with success.”

He explained that he had read about many people in and outside the country who had moved from zero level to become big legitimately in the society.

“So, I decided to brace up myself right from my master’s programme and I did well and qualified for PhD programme,” he said.

“But I must equally add that my supervisory team was made up of wonderful people. They are great tutors. They encouraged me a lot,” he added.

Even at that, and just like many other Nigerian students who faced lots of challenges, especially that of finance mostly because they are not from financially buoyant families, Ajibade is no exemption. His PhD programme was a full-time while his parents are retirees with no surplus money at hand.

“So, at times, there would be no money at hand to sustain myself and carry on with my project. But somehow, God would just come in and make a way out by using people, including my supervisors to support me,” he said.

But then, all was not about reading and studying. Ajibade also engaged in social life on and outside the campus. For him, it was a matter of effective planning to strike a balance.

“Sincerely speaking, I was focused and very determined to come out with an excellent grade,” he pointed out. But then, it wasn’t as if I was totally cut off from social life. I have many friends and I’m also into a relationship. I attended social functions and also church services on regular basis to worship God as a committed Christian. I also did watch movies and documentaries and all that.

“So, it was not that because of PhD I didn’t do any other thing. I did, but in a moderate way without one activity negatively affecting the other.”

Now, Ajibade, who in-between his first and master’s degree programmes had a brief stint in the banking and automobile industries, is ready to take up teaching appointment, preferably with UNILAG.

“I love lecturing job so much and I know I will do very well in it. So, while I would be lecturing, I would continue with my education to a post-doctoral position,” he said.

Lady Whose Fingers Were Cut Off By Fulani Herdsmen Gets Employment, Money

A Nigerian philanthropist and former Aba North Chairman, Alex Ikwechegh has visited Abia woman whose fingers were cut by Fulani herdsmen. Miss Esther Nmecha, who needed N60,000 for treatment, had solicited for help from Nigerians.

To her greatest surprise, Alex Ikwechegh through his foundation visited her and donated a huge amount of money and offered a job to her in order to take care of her personal needs.

Speaking on behalf of Ikwechegh, the spokesman of the foundation said he was dejected when he heard the dastardly act being committed by the rampaging Fulani Herdsmen in Abia State and asked security agents to arrest the perpetrators of the ugly act.

Igbere TV reports that Ikwechegh also paid hospital bills of other patients in the hospital.

In his words, "We are here because our Chairman, Alex Ikwechegh understands your plight. In fact, he was dejected and devastated when he heard the news and that's why he sent us to donate this money to you ".

"This is not Abia State that we use to know before. We had peace but now with the coming of the Herdsmen, our people now live in fear which ought not to be so.

"We want peace in our state and hopefully, the security agents will act immediately to stop the nefarious activities of the Herdsmen, " he said.

Narrating her ordeal, the woman said trouble started around 4pm on the fateful day when herdsmen encroached on her business premises along Peoples Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba. She said an appeal to the invaders to leave the premises fell on deaf ears as they threatened to kill her.

Nmecha said, “In making real their threat, one of the Fulani herdsmen brought out his machete and targeted to cut my neck. It was in an attempt to defend myself that he missed his target and cut off my four fingers.

“I was rushed to the Police Clinic at the Central Police Station, Aba, where they immediately referred me to the Aba General Hospital as a result of the critical nature of my case... I thank Ikwechegh for coming to my aid, may God bless him abundantly ".

Atiku Slams APC: Your Claim On My Citizenship Idiotic

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2019 polls, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed the petition by the APC contesting his citizenship as “idiotic”.

Atiku, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Paul Ibe, said it is an insult to Nigerians and the office of Vice President, which he occupied for eight years, for the APC to allege that he is not a Nigerian.

He said everything must not be about politics. According to him, “that is idiotic. It is idiotic. And it is ridiculous. Atiku Abubakar is a former Vice President of Nigeria. Are they telling us that a former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not a Nigerian? That is disrespectful to Nigerians and for the office he has held, which other people will hold and will continue to hold. Everything must not be on the alter of politics."

Cricketer Alex Hepburn Found Guilty Of R*pe After Attacking Sleeping Woman

Cricketer Alex Hepburn has been found guilty of oral rape after attacking a sleeping woman during a sexual conquest "game".

The 23-year-old, who gave himself the boastful nickname "The Battery" in Whatsapp messages, was cleared by a jury of a second rape charge relating to the same victim.

The ex-Worcestershire CCC all-rounder had denied both allegations relating to an alleged attack in the early hours of April 1, 2017, at his flat in Worcester.

Jurors at Worcester Crown Court deliberated for 10 hours and 53 minutes before delivering a unanimous verdict.

Hepburn sighed and then slumped into his seat, covered his face with his hands and sobbed after the verdict was returned by the foreman.

He was cleared of a second count of rape and will be sentenced at Hereford Crown Court on April 30.
Prosecutors alleged Hepburn began to rape the woman while she was asleep after getting into her bed, where she had earlier had consensual sex with his then team-mate Joe Clarke.

The complainant, who cannot be identified, earlier told the court she was left shocked and distressed after opening her eyes and realising she was having sex with Hepburn and not Clarke, who was asleep elsewhere in the flat.

The complainant said she then locked herself naked in the bathroom before returning to Hepburn to tell him: "You just found me asleep and took advantage of me".

Hepburn told the retrial that the woman made eye contact with him and then kissed him, instigating a consensual sexual encounter lasting around 20 minutes.

I Have A Girlfriend, I Have Had Girlfriends BUT Not Tying The Knot Soon - Don Jazzy

Mavin Records boss, Michael Ajereh popularly known has Don Jazzy has FINALLY REVEALED why he is not yet married and why he might not be getting married soon. Speaking to Saturday Beats on his relationship status, Jazzy said;

He said, “I don’t bring up issues about my relationship status on purpose. People always talk about it. It is not difficult to find a wife; there are many beautiful women out there. It is not like I am ready; I am not the perfect version of what I would like to be to my wife and family.

“I want to work on myself until I am ready. By the time I am ready, if someone still wants to be with me, that would be great.

“It is not like I am looking for a wife and cannot find one. There are lots of nice and beautiful ladies out there. I don’t think I am there yet. I am not in a hurry.

“If time passes and nobody wants to marry me, then so be it but for now, I don’t feel I have worked on myself enough.

“I don’t want a scenario where I would get married and my music or business would take me away and the next thing would be that my wife would start complaining that I am hardly around. Then people would start saying he doesn’t care about his family. I don’t need that type of talk in my life.

“Let me be on my own, whenever I am ready, I am ready. I have a girlfriend; I have had different girlfriends in the last 10 years. I can’t just be single; I never said I was celibate. The relationship can break, she can leave me and go, and it is possible.

“My other ex-girlfriends left me, they didn’t break my heart, they just moved on, some of them are married now, if they were still waiting for me, they won’t be married by now.

“People have their personal agendas and it is understandable. For me, I am not in a hurry.”

Fuel Queues Return; NNPC, Marketers React

Filling stations in some parts of Lagos experienced queues on Friday amid a supply hitch that slowed down the distribution of the Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to parts of the country.

It was learnt on Friday that the hitch was resolved on Thursday, with more vessels expected to arrive in Apapa and discharge the product over the weekend.

The pockets of fuel queues in Lagos emerged a day after the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation restated its commitment to the sustenance of the seamless supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country.

The NNPC on Friday appealed to Nigerians to disregard trending social media report of an impending fuel scarcity due to purported refusal by some oil marketers to lift products from depots.

The Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr Ndu Ughamadu, explained that the tale was fabricated by mischief makers with intent to create undue panic in the prevailing sanity in the fuel supply and distribution matrix across the country.

According to the statement, the corporation has over one billion litres of petrol in stock, and there was no need for panic buying or hoarding of petroleum products in anticipation of a phantom scarcity.

The Chief Executive Officer, Clement Isong, in a telephone interview with The Punch, said the hitch led to the loss of a couple of hours in the transition of products between a vessel and the stations.

“But that hitch was resolved yesterday (Thursday), and we are pumping out as much as possible. Hopefully, the queues should have been cleared by tomorrow (Saturday) morning,” he said.

According to him, major markets have products in their tanks in Apapa and are loading. He said 23 depots in Lagos, 7 in Port Harcourt, 11 in Warri, 6 in Calabar and 8 in Kaduna, were stocked with petrol.

Police Officer Allegedly R*pes Wife 13yrs Old Apprentice

After being detained for two days, a policeman in Ogun State, who was accused of defiling his wife’s apprentice, has been released. It was learnt that the policeman, Abbey Adewunmi, was apprehended by the Ifo Police Division on Thursday, April 4, 2019 after allegedly evading arrest for weeks.

He reportedly defiled the 13-year-old girl, Tolu (not real name), sometime in February 2019 and threatened to kill her if she divulged the information to anybody.

Trouble started when the girl summoned up the courage and informed her mother, Boye.

The woman told the correspondent that Tolu was living with her at the Cement area of Lagos after she separated from her husband.

Boye explained that the girl was in Junior Secondary School Two last year when her father insisted that she should relocate to Ifo, Ogun State, to live with him.

The mother said, “She was not comfortable at her father’s house and came back to me. I then took her to my aunt’s place in Orile.

“Her father insisted that I must bring her back, which I did. She was in JSS 2 before she left for her father’s house. He said he did not have money to enrol her in a school. That was how she started learning tailoring at Ifo.”

Boye stated that at a point, the father said Tolu would no longer live with him because he was usually away from home.

She said they decided she should be living with her master, who also agreed to the proposal.

She added, “In February 2019, I talked to my daughter on the phone through her friend, who is also an apprentice at the shop.

“It was during our discussion that my daughter told me her boss’ husband forcefully had sex with her and threatened to kill her if she disclosed it to anybody.

“When my brother heard of the incident, he said we should report it to the police and a human rights group. The case was reported at the Ifo Police Station.”

Boye later informed our correspondent that she was under pressure to drop the case.

The victim, in a chat with City Round, said she was washing some plates at the backyard that fateful day when the policeman took her hostage and allegedly defiled her.

She stated, “I’m 13 years old. I was learning tailoring at Ifo and living with my boss. I got there in November 2018.

“On February 2, 2019, my boss was not around and while I was washing plates at the backyard in the evening, her husband came and suddenly held me in the neck. He had sex with me there. His wife arrived and met me crying. I told her what happened but the man denied it.”

The victim’s aunt, Tosin Olofin, stated that the police wanted to sweep the case under the carpet.

She said, “The police are begging that they don’t want us to sue him. They have frustrated my sister (Boye) so much that she had decided to back off. The man was released without our knowledge.”

Adewunmi, however, denied the allegation when our correspondent contacted him on the telephone on Friday.

He said, “It is false. My mistake was that I assisted the girl to live with my family. The result of the test carried out on her showed that she had been having sex for long. All this happened because of the misunderstanding between my wife and me. I was released on bail and I have been talking with the family of the girl.”

When called last Friday for comments on the case, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, promised to contact Adewunmi’s boss for details on the matter and get back.

The PPRO said he had yet to have a breakthrough when the correspondent contacted him subsequently.

City Round learnt that the case had been brought to the attention of a human rights organisation, Esther Child Rights Foundation, based in Lagos.

The Director of the foundation, Mrs Esther Ogwu, said the case was reported by the victim’s mother.

She, however, expressed worry that the woman was being intimidated to let go of the matter and urged the police not to brush the alleged crime under the carpet.

She said, “We have been following up the case. We made sure that the child was taken to a hospital in Lagos for test.

“Our foundation also spoke to the Investigating Police Officer in the Ifo Police Station, who is in charge of the case. We are not happy about the turn which the case has taken because the man has been released.

“The police have not done what is expected of them. Rape is a crime and every perpetrator of such should be brought to face the law. When conversing with the victim, she told me that the wife of the suspect beat her up after she was defiled.

“The wife stated that the little girl wanted to destroy her home. This is injustice of the highest order and it is unacceptable. This matter must not be covered. We are going to fight till justice is served.”

Security agencies probing Atiku’s alleged plot to stop Buhari

Security agencies are probing alleged plot by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to prevail on the United States to recognise him as the ‘authentic President’ of Nigeria.

The agencies are already on the trail of members of the Atiku Deservation Group behind the printing and distribution of the candidate’s posters in some parts of the country.

The posters bore the inscription PUKKA, which in Hindi and Urda figuratively means ”fully formed”, “solid”, “permanent”, “for real” or “sure, authentic, genuine, solid and excellent”.

It was learnt that the security agencies are working on a theory that some groups loyal to Atiku were out for subversive activities against Buhari administration.

A part of the plot was to lobby members of the inner circle of President Donald Trump and the US Congress to delay its recognition of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The agenda was said to be an attempt to stop the inauguration of President Buhari on May 29.

Despite denial by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Cable, an online news medium, yesterday claimed to have confirmed the payment of $30,000 by Atiku to a lobbying firm to “defeat” what it called “flagrant violence and irregularities orchestrated” by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Buhari to compromise the presidential election.”

According to a top source, the government does not treat the intelligence at its disposal on the engagement of the US firm, Fein & DelValle PLLC, with levity.

The source said: “The whole script is about subversive plot against the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Security agencies picked up some intelligence and they are already investigating individuals and groups connected with it.

“It is not a case of crying wolf or an attempt to intimidate Atiku. Some clues were presented to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday. In fact, about eight ministers contributed to the issue to underscore the gravity of the case at hand.

“It was a resolution of FEC that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, should alert the nation through a media briefing.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “What we have at hand points to a semblance of treasonable felony, but security agencies are probing it.

“They are also on the trail of groups and individuals connected with this fresh plot against the government.”

When asked of the nature of the intelligence at the disposal of the government, Mohammed said: “You do not expect me to disclose this.”

It said the PDP presidential candidate “sought the services of the company in his bid to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari.”

The newspaper said: “The Centre for Responsive Politics (CRP) had reported how Atiku hired Bruce Fein, a former official of the US justice department, and his firm Fein & DelValle PLLC, in March.

“In its terms and conditions for representation, Fein & DelValle PLLC had said it would establish and operate a situation room located in its Capitol Hill offices in the US and enlist the services of Lloyd Ukwu, a Nigerian barrister and trusted confidant of Atiku, to assist in the operation of the situation room.

“The firm also proposed to execute strategies to secure the US endorsement of Atiku’s efforts to defeat what it called “flagrant violence and irregularities orchestrated” by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Buhari to compromise the presidential election.

“Twenty-four hours after the report was published, Atiku denied paying money to US consultants in his bid to dislodge Buhari, his main rival in the February 23 election.

“But documents seen by The cable showed that Atiku paid the money to the firm two days after signing a 90-day contract (April 1, 2019 to July 1, 2019). He signed the contract on March 24 and paid the money on March 26.

“The amount was budgeted for costs and expenses for the 90-day period. In addition, the agreement was for Atiku to separately pay all pre-approved international travels, business class.

“According to a document received by the United States’ department of justice foreign agents’ registration act (FARA), with registration number 6654, on April 2, Fein & DelValle, PLLC, registered as a foreign agent for Atiku and the PDP on March 20.

“FARA is a disclosure statute that requires persons acting as agents of foreign principals in a political or quasi-political capacity to make periodic public disclosure of their relationship with the foreign principal, as well as activities, receipts and disbursements in support of those activities.

“The firm said it received $30,000 from Atiku on March 26, which was confirmed in item 9(a) under the financial information clause of the registration statement.

“In item 9(b), the firm made it clear that it did not receive any other thing of value other than money from Atiku.

“The lobbyist firm, a registered and active corporate law firm in the US, stated that the agreement with Atiku is in a formal written document.”

In an interview with NAN, the Executive Director of the Deservation group, Dr. Sani Adamu, justified the theme of PUKKA.

He claimed that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the PDP in the just concluded presidential election is Nigeria’s authentic president.

Reminded that Atiku already has a case before the presidential election petition tribunal, Adamu expressed confidence that Abubakar would get justice at the tribunal.
