Don’t Rename Development Varsity After Me, Ex-Ghanaian President Tells Education Ministry

Former president of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings, has rejected an attempt by the nation’s Ministry of Education to rename the University of Development Studies after him.

The UDS is part of four schools that the Education ministry included in a draft bill, which is aimed at renaming four tertiary institutions after notable Ghanaian personalities.

Rawlings rejected the government’s offer on his verified Facebook page. He said, “The former President has taken particular note of the plan to re-name four universities after eminent Ghanaian personalities, including the naming of the University of Development Studies (UDS) after him.

“When the proposal for the naming of the UDS was first brought to the former President’s attention by the Education Minister in 2017, he thanked the President and the government for the honour, but politely declined the offer because he had a long-standing principle not to have national monuments and facilities named after him.


“The former President has since the publication of the details of the new bill to be tabled to Parliament written to the Minister of Education to reiterate his position and kindly requested that the re-naming of UDS after him be withdrawn from the Draft Bill to be submitted to Parliament.

“The former President once again thanks the President and all those who in diverse ways are keen on recognizing his contribution to the development of Education in the country.”

The affected institutions include the University of Development Studies, the University of Professional Studies Accra, the University of Health and Allied Sciences, as well as the University of the Energy and Natural Resources.

Man Catches Best Friend Undressing Cheating' Wife On Camera He Was Charging

A man in China allegedly caught his wife cheating with his best friend after accidentally leaving on a camera he was charging.

The husband, only known Mr Yang, said the incident unfolded in 2016 when he took his dash camera home and left it charging without knowing it had turned on.

Shocking footage captured the moment his friend Mr Liu, said to be a local mayor, turned up at his home to be greeted by his wife, Cui Hua, who he knew through work.

The footage, captured in August 2016 but only recently shared, shows the pair kissing as they greet.


They then have a brief conversation before Mr Liu appears to start undressing her.

Mr Yang explained he had been hiding the incident as his son was preparing for university entrance exam and only decided to divorce in January 2018.

Mr Yang said he had complained to the local government but had yet received any reply.

Being accused of cheating, Cui Hua replied to ShangYao News that she was a colleague of Mr Liu.
 
She admitted that the government had received her ex husband's complaint and said: "If this is true, they [the officials] would have given me a warning."

Cui Hua also denied that the footage was taken from a dashcam as she believed it was filmed on a hidden camera.

It's known that Mr Liu has retired from the service and Cui Hua has been appointed as the town's deputy secretary.

I was stabilised at the new place and a gastroenterologist attended to my matter. However all along this was a deep spiritual battle. I had previously been shown the battle in dreams. I shared with my egbon prayer partner Tmac as well as my pastor @nathanielblow who prayerfully supported me through out. I received so much quality medical care at the new place that I believed the battle was already over... but that was as far as human knowledge and wisdom could go. After the surgical procedure to evacuate the "appendiceal mass" discovered in my stomach, I was supposed to heal and stabilize but it wasn't so. I began to declare boldly that I have the Holy Spirit, He is inside of me, the same One that raised Jesus from the dead, therefore He will quicken my body to heal as I stir Him up. With my last energies I began to sing, shout and pray aloud in tongues in that hospital. This was happening at about 1am or 2am. The nurses heard me, the patients heard me but at that point I didn't care. I was greatly stirred. It was like I had receive a great light. By the time I was done my heart palpitations stopped. At dawn one of my doctor friends came to confess to me that everyone on duty that night thought I wasn't going to make it in the morning. She too was marvelled of how I looked strikingly better from the previous day she had seen me. From then on my health improved. In a few days I started eating and then discharged. After
my discharge I still a few minor battles here and there but I knew the major victory had been won. God cleared all and gave me a clean bill of health, he wrote.

NUPENG To Nigerians: Stop Panic Buying Of Fuel

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) on Saturday called on Nigerians to stop panic buying of petrol and diesel as there was enough of the products in circulation.

Mr Tayo Aboyeji, the NUPENG South West Chairman, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. “Nigerians should stop spreading and listening to rumours of government removing fuel subsidy and increasing pump price of fuel.

 “We are not aware of such move, there is enough fuel in circulation and no increase have been made so far, ” Aboyeji said. The NUPENG boss cautioned Nigerians of the impeding dangers of storing and stock piling fuel at homes and shops, especially during this hot weather. “Careless storage of fuel can lead to fire disaster both in the house or in the car,” Aboyeji added.

Mr Johnson rejected reports about the Duchess, saying she is a "wonderful" woman who isn't afraid of being herself.

He suggested Meghan, raised in a household dominated by independent women, would be "more comfortable" with a baby girl and a boy would be "more of a challenge".

Mr Johnson is an artist who lives in Fresno, California, about 200 miles from where Meghan grew up in Los Angeles.

Atiku: Those who made Nigeria world poverty capital should have their origin questioned

Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 presidential election, has described as “ridiculous” the claim by the APC that he is not qualified to contest the election.

The former vice-president said while he will “not dignify” the ruling party with a response, the assertion suggests they have admitted to “tramping on the will of Nigerians” during the election.

In its response to Atiku’s petition challenging the outcome of the election, the APC had said the PDP candidate is not a Nigerian by birth and so, is unqualified to run for president.

Lateef Fagbemi, counsel to APC, argued that Atiku was born on November 25, 1946 in Jada, Adamawa state, which was then in Northern Cameroon; hence, he’s a citizen of Cameroon.

But in a statement issued by Paul Ibe, Atiku’s spokesman, the former VP said while he based his case on “facts and statistical evidence,” the APC’s only defence is “to attempt an unconstitutional redefinition of the term ‘Nigerian’.”

He said rather than question his origin, those who made Nigeria become the world poverty capital are “the very people whose Nigerianness should be in doubt.”

“The fact that the APC chose to base its defence on the ridiculous assertion that the Waziri Adamawa is not a Nigerian should show to Nigerians the type of characters we have in the APC and its government, whose legitimacy runs out on May 29, 2019,” Atiku said in the statement issued on Saturday.

“The position of the APC is so pedestrian and shows such straw clutching desperation on their part, that I shall not dignify it with an answer. Our lawyers would, of course, do the needful in court. But the point I want to draw the attention of Nigerians to is that both the APC and its candidate have by this infantile logic admitted to the fact that they trampled on the will of Nigerians and that their only defence is to attempt an unconstitutional redefinition of the term ‘Nigerian’.

“I am, however, confident in the Nigerian judiciary, as well as in the Nigerian people. I trust that the Tribunal will treat such a claim with the contempt it deserves. We must maintain our fidelity to the rule of law and to our fountain of origin, the 1999 Nigerian Constitution (as amended).”

He added that he has committed his assets and talents to developing Nigeria “through the provision of tens of thousands of direct jobs and hundreds of thousands of indirect jobs.”

“I make bold to state that those who have made Nigeria the world headquarters for extreme poverty are the very people whose Nigerianness should be in doubt, and not a man, who worked with President Olusegun Obasanjo to double the per capita Income of our nation in less than eight years,” Atiku added.

Here's INEC Position On Atiku's 'Server Results' Where He Defeated Buhari

The ripples generated by the claim by PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar that he actually won the president election is still ongoing. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has accused PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, of manufacturing results of the last presidential election to prove his case at the Tribunal.

INEC filed its response on Thursday at the tribunal in Abuja. It distanced itself from an electronic sheet that purportedly contained the genuine results of the presidential election.

Atiku’s legal team submitted the sheet at the tribunal last month, contending it was obtained from an internal compilation of results on INEC’s Internet server.

The team, amongst other submissions, said he won by more than six million votes, but his victory was allegedly suppressed by the commission in favour of incumbent President Buhari.

Atiku was derided by supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress after the claim became public. Buhari’s campaign also wrote to the police and the State Security Service to launch a criminal investigation against Mr Abubakar. It accused him of maliciously accessing INEC’s files.

INEC’s response 
The umpire said it, “does not share information with such an unclassified entity and any information purportedly derived therefrom which does not accord with the result as declared by INEC is not authentic but rather was invented for the purpose” of the tribunal, according to excerpts seen by PT.

In the 291-page response, INEC said it did not transmit results via electronic channels, but used manual collation as stipulated by law. It, however, did not say whether it collated results from across the country and compiled them on an Internet-enabled computer.

"INEC specifically denies the existence of electronic transmission of results and it is unknown to the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended),” it said.

Imo S*x Romp: Rector Bars Course Mates From Attending Victim’s Burial

The only female victim among the four students who engaged in drunken, Tramadol-fueled group s-x, has died.

The Punch had reported that the indiscriminate sexual activity took place at the Sunshine Castle Hostel, Ihiagwa, Owerri, Imo State,  involving the lady identified as Onyinyechi Okafor, and three other male students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

Her male accomplices, who all died before her, were Ugochukwu Kingsley, Richard and Aka Uche.

Onyinyechi Okafor was identified as a student at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, also in Imo State.


The victims had died after allegedly taking Tramadol tablets and Indian hemp before embarking on the group s-x.

Miss Okafor was buried on Thursday at her hometown in Ihiala, Anambra State, Punch correspondent gathered, even as some students disclosed that her course mates were forbidden from attending the funeral.

An undergraduate at Miss Okafor’s school said that the institution’s management barred her course mates from attending her burial.

The Rector of the institution, Michael Arimanwa, our correspondent learnt, threatened that any student of the school who attends the burial would be sanctioned.

He (rector) was said to have been irked by the shameful circumstance leading to the death of the female undergraduate.

The source said, “The female victim, Onyinyechi Okafor, has been buried. She was buried on Thursday in Ihiala, Anambra State.

“She was HND 1 student of Pharmaceutical Technology. The rector warned her course mates not to attend the burial or be associated with her funeral rites.

“You know that our rector is a priest. He was saddened by the shameful stories surrounding the death of the girl.

“The management warned that any student who attends the burial would be sanctioned.

“That was why every student stayed away from the burial.”

Kenyan-born singer, Victoria Kimani, set the Internet into frenzy last week after she dropped her version of Kizz Daniel’s Fvck You challenge.

In her song, she called out Nigerian rapper, Oludemilade Alejo, popularly known as Ycee for stealing her song – an allegation that left tongues wagging.

However, in subsequent lines in her song, she seemed to have insulted a Nigerian female artiste and even though she didn’t mention any name, the adjectives she used to qualify the artiste made most people speculate that she was referring to Tiwa Savage.

In an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats, Kimani noted that she didn’t mention Savage’s name but people only took a cue from the content of her song.


She said, “I don’t have any issue with Tiwa Savage at all. I approached the ‘Fvck you challenge’ with a below the belt move.

“It is common knowledge in the industry that this girl doesn’t like performing in the same show with other female artistes, everybody knows this. I never mentioned any names in my Instagram post, people just attached meaning to whoever they wanted to attach it to.

“Secondly, I never mentioned her name in the record but when I saw that she was sending fake Instagram accounts to attack me, that was when I realised she was offended with what I said.

“It was meant to be a light-hearted challenge, I had to be forced to send my statement, and I don’t have a problem doing that. The All Progressives Congress has said that Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, is not a citizen of Nigeria by birth and ought not to have even been allowed in the first place to contest the election.

APC said this in response to the election petition filed before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal by the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

APC, the third respondent to the petition, faulted the grounds of the petition, adding that Atiku “is not a citizen of Nigeria by birth and ought not to have even been allowed in the first place to contest the election.”


APC also faulted the claim by the petitioners that they obtained the authentic results of the February 23, 2019 election from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s server showing that they won the election.

INEC had, on February 27, 2019, declared the APC alongside its candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, winner of the election with 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku, whom it said polled 11,262,978 votes.

But the petitioners stated in their 139-page petition anchored on five grounds that “from the data in the 1st respondent’s (INEC’s) server…the true, actual and correct results” from “state to state computation” showed that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.

They said the results were the total votes scored by the candidates in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, as there was “no report on sever” about the results from Rivers State as of February 25, 2019.

By calculation, Atiku and PDP claimed to have defeated Buhari by 1,615,302 votes.

In its reply filed through its lead counsel, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the APC said the data and computation of results on state-by-state basis were not legitimate.

The party stated that only the results declared by INEC were authentic.

The party averred that Atiku was born on Nov. 25, 1946 in Jada, Adamawa, in Northern Cameroon and was therefore a citizen of Cameroon and not a Nigerian by birth.

According to APC, contrary to the assertion of Atiku in his petition, he has no right to be voted for as a candidate in the election to the office of president of Nigeria.

Apart from the issue of the origin of Atiku, the APC asserted that most of the claims contained in his petition had become statute barred and that the tribunal was not the appropriate place to entertain such.

The APC specifically said that the issue of the educational qualification of Buhari as raised by Atiku could not be treated by the Tribunal.

Unclear how close Bush was to the late rapper, but as a San Diego native and a former USC superstar -- it's clear the SoCal legend was able to touch Reggie in some way during his life.

So, Bush is giving back to Hussle in the wake of his tragic death by donating $10,000 to Nipsey's two children and encouraging his followers to chip in as well.


"[Nipsey] touched a lot of lives in a positive way. He wanted to make a difference in his community, and communities like it all around the world," Bush said.

"As a tribute to Nipsey, I would like to offer support to his children, and all funds from this GoFundMe will be transferred directly into a trust that was created solely for his legacy, his two children, Kross & Emani."

Reggie added, "I'm making a donation to start this off. Please join me in honoring him in this way."

One NFL player has already contributed -- Patriots wideout Phillip Dorsett donated $1,000 to the campaign just an hour after Bush made the announcement.

Bush says his fundraising campaign will end on April 19.
