Yahaya Bello Visits Bourdillon At Night, Meets Tinubu

The rumour that some forces in APC are not ready to allow Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state have a second term is serious. The young governor - who had ignored APC national leader Bola Tinubu since coming into office through the controversy of late Prince Audu's death and the refusal of AGF Malami to back Tinubu's boy, James Faleke as governor - finally visited Tinubu yesterday.

His visited to Tinubu's Lagos home may not be unconnected with Kogi State governorship election which is coming up later this year.

Bello was declared winner of the 2015 Kogi State gubernatorial election after he was chosen on the platform of the All Progressives Congress as the replacement for the late  Audu who originally won the election but died before the result was declared.

The replacement, which was facilitated by former APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and some party chieftains, did not go down well with Tinubu and his political structure who had wanted Faleke, the deputy gubernatorial candidate to replace Audu.

Reports have it that Bello may not be offered the ticket to seek re-election under the ruling APC due to his below average performance since he became governor of Kogi State about three years ago.

May Day: PDP Felicitates With Nigerian Workers

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has lauded Nigerian workers on the occasion of 2019 Workers Day, for their service towards the development of the nation.

The party also acknowledged the patriotism and resilience of the workers, particularly for remaining steadfast to the course of nation-building, regardless of the prevailing economic condition of the times.

In a statement issued by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan on Tuesday, the PDP said it was “unfortunate that Nigerian workers found themselves operating under an inept administration that does not appreciate their inputs; that has no tangible strategy for their much-needed capacity building and reward system, but only relishes in Greek gifts and official bullying.

“The PDP cautions against such unproductive tendencies, adding that the N30,000 minimum wage should not be a justification for any form of bullying or victimization against the workers.”

'Are Some Nigerians More Equal Than Others?' CAN Queries Buhari After Securing Zainab 's Freedom

The Christian Association of Nigeria, Northern State chapter, has congratulated the parents of Zainab Aliyu for their daughter’s release from Saudi Arabia detention.

However, it expressed concerns over the continued detention of Leah Sharibu.

Leah was among the 110 school girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in Dapchi, Yobe State in Febuary 2018. After a government negotiated release, Leah remians the only girl in capitvity from the incident on account of her christian faith.

On Tuesday, Rev. Joseph Hayab, Public Relations Officer of the Christian Associaton Of Nigeria, conveyed the church's position on her continued detention, saying: "CAN Northern states rejoices with the parents of Zainab Aliyu and the government of our country for securing her release after she was arrested and detained in Saudi Arabia for allegations of drug trafficking.


"It is sad that many innocent Nigerians are suffering for a crime they know nothing about. This prompt effort by government is commendable and should be sustained for all and in the future, because this is what we want to see from our leaders in this country.

“But as we rejoice about this development, we are also compelled to ask this important question: Are all Nigerians equal or some are more equal than others?

“We are aware that many innocent citizens of our country have been arrested, some killed and others are still in detention; but we have not heard any directives from Mr. President to his Attorney General to take action about them with this kind of urgency.

“If we want our citizens to be proud of their government and country, then we need to show equal concern about what happens to everyone in this country. We cannot also celebrate the release of Zainab and forget Leah Sharibu who did not commit any crime but has been in captivity for over a year now.

“We, therefore, appeal to President Buhari to direct his security agencies to double their efforts and get Leah released and reunited with her parents. Leah, too, wants to enjoy the protection of her leaders.”

Julian Assange Faces Jail For UK Bail Breach

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will be sentenced Wednesday  for breaching a British court order seven years ago, when he took refuge in Ecuador's London embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden.

The Australian whistleblower, who was arrested on April 11 after Ecuador gave him up, could face a 12-month prison sentence when he appears at Southwark Crown Court at 10.30am local time (0930GMT).

Assange fled to the embassy in 2012 after a British judge ordered his extradition to face Swedish allegations of sexual assault and rape, which he strongly denied.


He claimed the allegations were a pretext to transfer him to the United States, where he feared prosecution over release by WikiLeaks of millions of classified documents.


There is no longer an active investigation in Sweden and the extradition request has lapsed.

However, the 47-year-old is facing a US extradition request, which was only revealed following his dramatic arrest, when he was dragged shouting from the embassy by police.

Assange appeared in court within hours of his arrest, and a judge found him guilty of breaching his bail conditions.

Nipsey Hussle's Sister Files Paperwork To Become His Daughter 's Legal Guardian

Nipsey Hussle's sister has filed a petition to be legal guardian of his daughter 10-year-old Emani Asghedom.

The late rapper's sister Samantha Smith recently submitted legal documents to LA County Superior Court, according to TMZ.

Insiders say that Smith is concerned that Emani's biological mother Tanisha is not fit to care for the child.

It's reported that Emani was being cared for by her father prior to his March 31 death.


Smith contends that she should takeover the role of caretaker since she has helped care for her niece for nearly all the child's life.

The rapper's sister is hoping 'to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain [their] current and ongoing relationship.'

A judge has yet to rule on the matter.

Nipsey also has a two-year-old son, Kross, with longtime girlfriend Lauren London.

The 31-year-old was seen leaving her home in the north east last week, which he bought for her and their four-year-old daughter Ayla.

Sources claim they were initially remaining close for the sake of their daughter but have now resumed their relationship by 'taking things slowly'.

Miss Flounders, 29, had previously publicly stood by the former Manchester City and Sunderland star when he was accused of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl and grooming but left him when he admitted the charges in court. He was jailed for six years in 2016 and released in March after serving half of his sentence.

Sharon Osbourne Reveals She Attempted Suicide

Sharon Osbourne opened up about her battles with depression on Tuesday's episode of The Talk, revealing that she attempted suicide three times.

The 66 year old host said she used to joke about her depression, casually mentioning that she tried to kill herself three separate times without divulging details.

She admitted that she shouldn't have joked about such a serious matter, before speaking about her suicide attempts.

Osbourne has previously opened up about her struggles, talking about taking medication for 16 years on a November 2014 episode of The Talk.

Scientists were left shocked when traces of illegal party drugs were found in freshwshrimswimmingin Britain’s countryside rivers.

Drugs such as cocaine and ketamine were discovered by a team investigating 15 sites at five rivers around Suffolk to see what chemicals were in the water.

The authors said ‘surprisingly’ they found cocaine in every single sample - while the party drug ketamine and other pharmaceuticals were also found in the shrimp.

OMG! Ritualists Caught While Trying To Kill A Woman

Two suspected ritualists have been apprehended in a community in Ondo state. They are alleged to be among those responsible for the killing of an elderly women in Akoko area of the state and removing their bre*sts and other sensitive organs including private parts.

According to reports, they were apprehended on Tuesday by some youths at Arigidi Akoko following an attempt to kill another woman where the 80-year-old was gruesomely murdered last week.

One of the suspects 'confessed' that they are twelve in number who carry out the nefarious activity.

This incident is coming just days after many in the town cried out over the negative happenings with no much help in sight from the security agencies, as well as the state and federal government.

Fire From Air Conditioner Razes OAP Yaw's House In Lagos

A fire which started from an air conditioner has razed popular OAP, Yaw's house. According to reports, the fire broke out this Wednesday morning, May 1, and razed a portion of the house which is located at an estate in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Yaw was on his way to work when he discovered that his air conditioner was on fire.

Television presenter Rochelle Humes has revealed the amazing story of how she reconnected with her long-lost younger sister Lili Piper after 23 years apart.

Soulja Boy Sentenced To 240 Days In Jail …

Soulja Boy will have to spend much of the rest of 2019 behind bars.

A Van Nuys Superior Court judge in California sentenced the rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, to 240 days in jail and 265 days of community service for violating the terms of his probation on a 2014 firearms charge.

The Chicago native was also credited with 40 days of time served.

Dressed in an orange LA County jail jumpsuit, the Cut Dat Check rapper was led into the courtroom with his hands cuffed in front of his stomach.


The judge stated that he had been considering a term of two-years in jail for his latest arrest, which included possession of ammunition and submission of bogus compliance records for community service.

'It really shows a lack of commitment to being on probation and a lack of respect to the court and the probation department,' the judge told the Chicago native in a video posted by TMZ.

Authorities claim Soulja forged paperwork to show community service that he didn't actually fulfill.

Police also found ammunition at his home, in response to a call from a woman who claimed he had held her hostage in his garage in February.     

The terms of his probation from his 2014 firearms arrest  strictly forbid him from possessing any guns or ammunition.

Three Selfie-Crazy Indian Teens Crushed By Train

Three teenagers were killed while taking selfies on a railway track in India, the country which researchers say has the worst record for selfie-related deaths.

A fourth youth managed to jump to safety before the accident in Panipat city in the northern state of Haryana, a police officer told AFP Wednesday.

"The victims were busy taking selfies and when they saw a train approaching they jumped to a second track without realising another train was coming on that," M. S. Dabas told AFP.

"One of them saved his life as he jumped on the other side of the track." The group had come to Panipat to attend a wedding. Two of those killed were 19-years old and the third was 18.


Experts warn that youngsters obsessed with social media are going to extreme lengths in order to post selfies seen as daring and risky.

Oprah Winfrey already has picked out gifts for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby. Winfrey, 65, told Access Hollywood Tuesday that she's mapped out her course of gift-giving when it comes to her royal friends.

'I have a standard gift that I do for people that I really care about,' the legendary TV star said. 'So I don’t know the baby’s name or the baby’s gender, but this baby will have enough books to last a lifetime!'

The iconic talk show personality, who was at the wedding between the prince and the Suits actress in May of 2018, chat with the outlet at Los Angeles's Milk Studios, where she spoke at - and was honored at - an Empowerment in Entertainment Event thrown by The Hollywood Reporter.
