How teenager beheaded classmate for sitting with girlfriend

A crazed teen beheaded a schoolmate who he thought had slept with his girlfriend, prosecutors said in court this week.

Mathew Borges was just 15 in November 2016 when he is accused of cutting off the head and hands of Lee Manuel Viloria-Paulino, 16, in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Borges killed the Lawrence High School sophomore in a jealous rage after accusing him with sleeping with his girlfriend, causing them to split, prosecutors said in Essex County Superior Court on Monday, according to the Boston Herald.

“I think of killing someone and I smirk … It’s all I think about every day,” he texted the girl, according to Assistant DA Jay Gubitose.

“The next time you see me, look at my eyes because that’s the last time they’ll be like that. They’ll be dead,” he texted her before the brutal murder, according to the report.

The following day, Viloria-Paulino went missing and his decapitated body was later found by a man walking his dog.

A state trooper later found the victim’s head in a bag nearby.

Surveillance video showed the two teens walking toward the river, but Borges initially told police they had gone to smoke pot.

But after Borges was arrested, police found a journal at his home with a last entry to call a few friends, wear bags on their shoes and “kill him,” the prosecutor said.

“The defendant told them he stabbed him to death and cut his head and hands off so he couldn’t be identified,” Gubitose told the court, according to the Herald.

Defense attorney Edward Hayden insisted the most Borges can be accused of doing is burglarizing the dead boy’s home — not butchering him.

“Witnesses who are going to say he committed murder are not reliable,” he said.

Borges is now 17 and being tried as an adult on the first-degree murder charge.

His trial continues and is expected to take three weeks.

IPOB declares May 30 as sit-at-home to remember fallen heroes

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared May 30, 2019 as sit-at-home day throughout Biafraland and Nigeria in remembrance of its fallen heroes and heroines.

The group urged religious institutions across the country to offer special prayers the night before the day for Biafran heroes murdered in cold blood in the region.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group said the day would be a time to remember victims of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen attacks.

It explained that the entire Biafraland would be in total lock down, adding that there would be no human, vehicular or animal movements across Biafraland on that day.

The statement partly read, “Churches, Mosques, Synagogues and Temples are encouraged to open their places of worship on the midnight of the 29th of May for special prayers in remembrance of all that died as a result of violence and sponsored killings.

“Special vigil will be held at the homes of select Biafran heroes and heroines who were murdered in cold blood in Biafraland.

“This year’s remembrance and sit-at-home order will be special because it will present a unique moment of shared pains and misery for all the families that lost their loved ones to war, hunger, starvation, disease, terrorism and state sponsored killings going on now in Nigeria.

Fans' anger at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's sweet birthday message to Princess Charlotte

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will become parents any day now as they await the arrival of their first royal baby .

But in all the excitement they didn't forget that today is a very special for their niece Princess Charlotte - her fourth birthday.

We imagine the couple have sent Charlotte a lovely present (maybe some slime? Kate said yesterday that her daughter loves the stuff) but they also sent a sweet message on Instagram .

To celebrate the occasion the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared three new photos of their daughter, which were shared on the social media plaform.

Meghan and Harry were among the thousands of people who commented on the sweet snap, which was taken by Kate.

They wrote: Happy birthday Charlotte! lots of love, H and M xo" with balloon and birthday cake emojis.

While most people loved the message, others were annoyed they didn't use the word 'princess'.

One wrote: "Even on Kensington Royal (her parents insta) she is referred to as Princess Charlotte. Meghan is just being disrespectful like she was to Prince Louis."

Another commented: "Even if they are related through Harry, she needs to call her Princess if other Royals call her that. This isn't because they're related, it's respect."

One woman wrote: "So why they call her princess? Because it's a sign of respect!! Even Queen's account calls her princess."

Another simply added: "That's Princess Charlotte to you."

One-in-a-million condition forces blogger to shun sunlight and live like a vampire

Most 26-year-old's love chilling out in the sun with their friends. But for courageous blogger Andrea Ivonne Monroy the sun's rays could cost her her life.

The 26-year-old is forced to shun sunshine and instead lives like a vampire, only able to go out under cover of darkness.

Her terrible one-in-a-million genetic condition has also forced her into an early menopause.

Andrea Ivonnesuffers from xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), which means her skin can't repair DNA damage caused by sunlight.

On the rare occassions where she is forced to go out during the day for a medical appointment she must cover up or risk skin cancer .

People with the devastating condition have an average life expectancy of just 37.

Yet Andrea Ivonne, who lives with her parents in San Diego, California, where there are on average 146 sunny days and 117 partly sunny days a year, refuses to see XP as a handicap.

She said: "I just love being this human that I am.

"I'm complete with the human I am. I'm complete with everything I am and what I have.

"I am in the menopause, as women who have what I have go through the menopause faster than women without it, but I don't want to have children. I wasn't born to be a mother.

"You don't need a significant other to be complete. You don't need a child to be complete or to be a woman.

"I'm fulfilled because of who I am, the person I've become and I just love what my life is."

Having XP means the home Andrea Ivonne shares with her parents, Martin and Maria, must be kept dark during the day with curtains that block out UV light.

The family can only use LED lightbulbs inside and Andrea Ivonne has to carry a light meter with her and wear a protective hat and mask if she does leave the house.

“I read of lot of inspiring books and took up yoga and meditation, and now I am happy in a way I never thought I could be.

“I never imagined I would be working as a blogger or have my own YouTube channel and so I think it was all just meant to be.

“If I think about my life five years from now, I want it to be just as it is now. I am happy and I want to stay that way.”

‘As an African artist, the moment you step out for international deals if they are supposed to give you $3oom you would be givem£3m because you went to them. Going to make deals with them in the state only shows you want something from them.

“They would sell you cheap, nobody Sabi you as a superstar for Yankee, you go gats live a lavish lifestyle to be noticed. Meanwhile, these labels know Africans have massive numbers worldwide, that’s what they are looking for.

France and Italy to mark 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death

French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella on Thursday kicked off commemorations to mark 500 years since Leonardo da Vinci died in France, paying their respects to the Renaissance genius in a show of unity after months of diplomatic tensions.

“The bond between our countries and our citizens is indestructible,” Macron said after the two men lunched at the Clos Luce, the sumptuous manor house where Leonardo spent the last three years of his life.
The two heads of state began their visit at the royal chateau in Amboise, where they laid wreaths at Leonardo’s grave.

The joint celebrations come after months of mounting diplomatic tensions between Paris and Rome over the hardline policies of Italy’s populist government and its support for France’s anti-government “yellow vest” protesters.

Another 'what I ordered Vs what I got' failure

A teenager was left outraged after a "figure hugging" outfit she ordered online arrived looking like a "cream bin bag".

Chloe Drodge, 19,  was planning a night out with her best friend and decided to head on to the PrettyLittleThing website to pick out an outfit.

Ordering what she thought was a size eight 'flattering' jumpsuit, the beauty therapist claims she was left shocked by what she received.

When the parcel arrived, the 19-year-old from Hampshire, claimed that what arrived instead was an ill-fitting jumpsuit that looked like a 'cream bin bag'.

Chloe then had to quickly scramble to find a new outfit for her big night and returned the item the next day.

She said: "I was going for a night out with my best friend, so thought that I would treat myself to a new outfit.

"When I was looking on the website I found this really nice cream, lace jumpsuit which I thought would be very figure hugging and flattering.

"However, what actually arrived was an over sized cream bin bag - and even the material of it was horrible.

"Luckily I had a back up outfit that I could wear, so my night wasn't completely ruined!"

Fiona Onasanya becomes first politician to be KICKED OUT of Parliament by voters

Criminal former Labour MP Fiona Onasanya has become the first politician to be booted out of the Commons by voters using a recall petition.

Almost 20,000 people in Peterborough signed the petition to kick her out of the seat after less than two years.

It came after she was jailed in January for perverting the course of justice after lying to police over a speeding charge.

A spokeswoman for Peterborough Council, which ran the petition, said that it had been signed by 19,261 people, far above the 7,000 signatures required to get rid of her.

'This means that the petition is successful and the Peterborough parliamentary seat is now vacant,' she added.

The decision sets up a mouthwatering by-election prospect in an area which voted 60-40 to Leave in the 2016 EU referendum.

Nigel Farage's Brexit party has indicated it will stand a candidate in the seat, which Onasanya took with a 607 majority in 2017 from Tory Stewart Jackson.

Labour and the Tories will both fight the seat and Onasanya is allowed to stand as an independent.

The 35-year-old refused to quit after being handed a three-month prison sentence.

The former Labour MP, who was booted out of the party after her conviction, has continued to collect her £77,379 salary and appear in the Commons to vote.

Nipsey Hussle's Sister Denied Request For Temporary Custody Of His Daughter

Nipsey Hussle's sister tried to file a motion for an emergency order to grant her temporary custody of the rapper's daughter.

Nipsey Hussle's sister, Samantha Smith, reportedly filed documents to be granted legal custody of his daughter. After trying to file an emergency order that would grant her temporary custody of Emani Asghedom but according to The Blast, her request was denied. The ruling said, "No urgency demonstrated for granting this relief prior to hearing on May 14th.” Additionally, the judge said that Emani's mother would have to be notified of the hearing.

In the initial documents that Samantha filed, she said that she has “always been a presence in Emani’s life and along with the rest of Emani’s paternal family has assisted in her care." She argued that she wanted custody of Nip's daughter to make sure she could make legal decisions for Emani, as well as “to ensure that she can continue to live with family members with whom she has always had close ties.”

The custody filing also mentioned that Smith didn't want to inform Emani's mother, Tanisha, of the request. Sources claim that it's due to the belief that Tanisha isn't able to  “a stable environment” for his daughter.

Tanisha, however, has legal grounds to fight back against the petition made by Samantha. Both Nipsey and Tanisha had legal and physical custody of Emani with Nipsey having his daughter on weekends and Tanisha having Emani for the majority of the week. However, documents suggest that Emani was primarily living with her father before his death.

16-year-old migrant boy dies in U.S. custody

A 16-year-old boy from Guatemala died days after being apprehended in the U.S., officials confirmed Wednesday. They said he developed symptoms of an illness the day after he arrived at a shelter in Texas.

According to the Guatemalan Foreign Ministry, the boy died Tuesday of a "severe infection in the frontal lobe" of the brain.

The teen was picked up by border patrol after he crossed into El Paso, Texas on April 19, Guatemalan officials said. On the evening of April 20, he was transferred by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the Southwest Key Casa Padre shelter in Brownsville, which is run by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

"Upon arrival to the shelter the minor did not note any health concerns," Evelyn Stauffer, a spokesperson for the Administration for Children and Families, which oversees ORR, said in a statement to CBS News. Children placed in ORR custody are typically given an initial medical examination by staff doctors within 48 hours of arriving at shelters, but because the boy arrived in the evening he had not yet received one, the agency said.

"On the morning of April 21, 2019 the minor became noticeably ill including fever, chills and a headache," Stauffer said.

The boy was brought to a hospital emergency room that morning and released later that day. When his health had not improved by the next day, he was brought to a different hospital, and later transferred to a children's hospital in Texas, Stauffer said.

The agency did not say which specific hospitals treated him, but the Guatemalan Foreign Ministry said he was taken to Driscoll Children's Hospital in Driscoll, Texas, where he underwent surgery "to stabilize the pressure inside the head area."

"Following several days of intensive care, the minor passed away at the hospital on April 30, 2019," the Administration for Children and Families statement said. The boy's death was first reported by BuzzFeed News.

The boy is the third migrant child to die in U.S. custody since December. Seven-year-old Jackeline Caal died in the custody of U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Dec. 8, 2018, after going days without food and water. Eight-year-old Felipe Gomez Alonzo died on Dec. 24, 2018, in border patrol custody after developing the flu.

U.S. officials did not release any more details about his medical condition, and said the boy's cause of death is under review. "In accordance with standard ORR policies and procedures, the case will be subject to a full review," Stauffer said.
