We Have Evidence Buhari Rigged 2019 Election – Afenifere

Ayo Adebanjo, leader of the Pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, said he has evidence the President Buhari rigged his re-election in February, making his victory as declared by INEC questionable.

“I maintain my stand that until the Supreme Court rules that he is validly elected, I will not recognise him. We have evidence that the election was rigged.
Let the court decide otherwise. That is all I am saying,” Adebanjo said in reaction to the call for his arrest for treason by National Democratic Front (NDF).

Adebanjo had, in February, described the 2019 presidential election ‘as a joke’. He insisted he will not recognise Buhari, who was declared the winner of the election by INEC, as president.

“Right now, Buhari is the president declared by INEC and not the person that won the election, and the constitution says if you are not satisfied by that declaration, go to the tribunal,” Adebanjo said.

While the tribunal is still hearing the case, Adebanjo said Buhari would only be clear of the election rigging allegations if he is declared as the winner by the Supreme Court.

“I will only recognise him if the court rules that he is the rightful winner. That is my position and if it is an offence to follow what the constitution says, then I am ready to go to prison,” Adebanjo said.

Nwoko’s ‘senior’ wives not at war with Regina Daniels –Consultant

Contrary to news making the rounds that billionaire, Ned Nwoko’s wives are at loggerheads with his new love interest, Regina Daniels, his image consultant, Karifest ‘Duchess’ Onyeka, has said there is no such thing.

She told Sunday Scoop, “It is a big fat lie that the other wives of Ned Nwoko have ganged up against Regina Daniels. I’m not supposed to comment on this but I want to correct the false impression. That fake news is the handwork of enemies. There is none of Ned’s wives that is at loggerheads with anybody. Whoever he is married to is too comfortable to complain. They have the choicest cars and whatever they want at their disposal. So, what do they have to complain about?

The man (Nwoko) is a nice, kind and lovable person. He is a humanitarian and he loves humanity so much. Because of that, he goes out of his way to take care of many people.

Coming to the issue of his wives, I believe he has the sole prerogative to do whatever he wants with his life. If he decides to marry 100 wives, it’s his choice if he feels he can take care of them all. People should just allow the man to live and enjoy his private life. He is a very good person and does not deserve this kind of publicity.”

Reminded that Nwoko is a public figure and the lady in question is an actress, so public attention is inevitable, Onyeka said, “It is not because he is a public figure that this news spread like wildfire, it is because he has many enemies. He is an Anioma (in Delta State) elite, and because his ways are different from that of other elites, people always try to cast aspersions on him at every opportunity. There are people that do worse things, but nobody talks about them.”

Onyeka also maintained that Daniels was not underage. She said, “What do people mean that she is underage? The girl is an international figure and has travelled overseas on her own. She is legally an adult and knows right from wrong. She has fully developed breasts and her hips are well formed. She is a well mannered girl with good composure. So, which man wouldn’t be attracted to someone like her? Age is nothing but a number and lots of people have married with wide age gaps. People such as Sade Okoya, Tina Turner and others married people whose ages were far different from theirs. If such people had married their age mates, their marriages may have crashed. It is pertinent to go after happiness wherever you find it.”

On whether the couple is legally married, Karifest Onyeka said, “If they married, it is only a matter of time before everybody knows.”

We Burnt Military Barracks & Killed Soldiers In Borno State - Boko Haram Boasts

The Islamic State (IS) backed Boko Haram faction says it killed 10 soldiers in an attack in Magumeri, Borno state, on Friday. The group made the claim through AMAQ, its news agency.

IS uploaded images of barracks that were burnt and the remains of the dead soldiers.

A source in the Nigerian army, according to Reuters, was said to have confirmed the attack which was reported to have happened around 5:45pm.

The fighters reportedly overpowered the military base in the town, raided shops and fled after the army called for reinforcement and air force support from the neighbouring Gubio town.

Worried by the collaboration between Islamic State and Boko Haram, in February, Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, vowed that the Nigerian military would break the unholy alliance between the groups.

“I am glad to note that we are making strides against the Islamic State West Africa or ISWA in our bid to unhinge the unholy union between them and remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists,” Buratai had said.

Boko Haram joined IS in 2015. It, however, split with the group in 2016 over leadership issues.

In March, the IS sacked Abu Mus’ab Al-barnawi as the leader of ISWAP, a faction of Boko Haram.

Ahmad Salkida, a journalist known to have access to the leadership of Boko Haram, said the new leader of the group was Abu Abdullah Ibn Umar Albarnawi.

I don’t blame Internet fraudsters, Vector speaks

Rapper, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known as Vector, says he is aware of the ongoing war against Internet fraudsters, popularly known as yahoo yahoo, but he will never judge the people in the act.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Vector said it would be a joke if people think he is into Internet fraud because he had decided not to judge the culprits. He stated, “I think everyone knows my story and how I started (my career) in 2009. If I am into yahoo yahoo, it will be too obvious to hide. But I don’t blame anyone who does it because I am not in a position to judge people.

“I support anything any man does as long as he knows there are consequences. Since you know you can go to jail for it and you still do online fraud, I have nothing to say to you. However, I believe in hard work and I don’t look at anyone’s time to work. I am doing my things the way I should.”

Vector also described fatherhood as beautiful and scary, saying he could never deny having a daughter outside wedlock.  He said, “Having a child means you will have a constant image of somebody in your head every day. Before my daughter was born, I was scared like every other young man. The world is now hard to raise a child. Our parents were able to protect us from certain things but it is a different thing now, especially with the advent of the Internet.

“When I lost my dad, it seemed my little daughter knew. Before I could break down, she would jump on me to play. Fatherhood comes with its own struggles but it is worth the sacrifices. I will never deny my child but she deserves her right to privacy. How about if she grows up and doesn’t like publicity?”

Sharia police to arrest adults seen eating in public during Ramadan

The Commander-General of Kano Hisbah, Nabahani Usman, said Sharia police will arrest adults found eating in public during Ramadan.

“We do this kind of operation yearly and we will continue it this year, “ Usman told BBC.

“Even if a doctor says you should not fast, that does not mean you should eat in public while others are fasting,” he added.

He said the aim of arresting public eaters is to get every Muslim to respect the holy month.

Usman noted that arrested persons would only be released if they can provide medical reports from doctor or other medical proof.

He affirmed that every praticising muslim is expected to observe Ramadan which is to fast.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim year, during which strict fasting is observed from dawn to sunset.

This year’s Ramadan begins from Sunday 5 May and it is expected to end on Tuesday 4 June.

'Buhari Govt. Has Turned Nigeria Into A Banana Republic'

A human rights lawyer, Femi Falana said President Muhammadu Buhari had turned Nigeria into a banana republic, citing prevailing cases of banditry, insurgency and violence that beclouded the country.

Falana, a SAN, added that Buhari’s civilian administration was apparently worse than the
military rule he presided over between December 31, 1983 and August 27, 1985. He expressed grave concern about the APC government in a paper he delivered at a roundtable discussion the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism and the British Council organised to the 2019 World Press Freedom Day in Abuja on Friday.

At the public forum attended by a wide range of political leaders, diplomats and professionals, Falana lamented that the country’s senior public officers had substituted the rule of law for “the rule of the rulers,” thereby asking the Nigerian masses “to take their destiny in their own hands.”

Specifically, the human rights lawyer cited Buhari’s records of respecting the rule of law, which according to him, had worsened since his heydays as a military dictator.

In a comprehensive analysis of the two administration, Falana said the irony of such official impunity “is that whereas the Buhari military junta released detainees from custody on the orders of the courts.”

He decried worsening cases of violence, banditry and insurgency, which he said, had become prevalent since the president returned to power in 2015.

He, therefore, concluded that under the the Buhari administration, Nigeria had become a banana republic, saying the president’s human rights record “is worse than when Buhari was a military dictator.”

He equally lamented Buhari’s poor record of obeying the rule of law, wondering that president claimed to be a converted democrat, though the claim had been disputed by the refusal of his administration to comply with the orders made by several courts for the release of a number of citizens from unlawful custody.

Apart from treating the orders of the courts with contempt, Falana said Buhari, currently the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), had ignored the orders of the Community Court of Justice with respect to the restoration of the civil liberties of Nigerian citizens.

He faulted Buhari and his Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, saying the contemptuous act of the administration “has been defended by the president who has insisted that national security should take precedence over the rule of law.

"As if that is not enough, the human rights lawyer faulted the decision of the justice minister “to publicly defended the contemptuous acts of the federal government.”

He equally lamented that those in charge of running the federation are working against the progress of the nation and Nigerians, noting that by deliberately ignoring the rule of law, the Buhari administration was promoting and perpetuating corruption.

According to him, this means that people in government, and particularly those in the executive arm, can abuse their powers and positions to promote their own interests or those of their friends and allies at the expense of public interest, through arbitrary acts and corruption, or through inconsistent application of laws.

Falana cited the case of Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign, which he argued, had been discredited through the selective prosecution of corrupt elements in the society.

Worse still, he explained that corrupt members of the Federal Executive Council “are currently using the police and anti-graft agencies to settle scores with corrupt opposition figures.

“It thus seems that politicians and associates of those close to the seat of power in Abuja are protected, despite strong evidence of corruption and money laundering against them. Such abuse of the rule of law is subversive of law and order in a democratic society.

“Given these types of examples on the part of the leadership and the poor working conditions of most government workers, it is not surprising that civil servants across the ranks have turned to petty corruption, often simply to survive.

“The net impact of this systemic corruption is a serious erosion of the rule of law, by a government that is supposedly committed to good governance, transparency, accountability and anti-corruption.”

So sad! Asos billionaire buries his 3 children killed in Sri Lanka bombings [Photos]

A funeral service has been held for the three children of the Asos billionaire who were killed in the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka.

Fashion tycoon Anders Holch Povlsen was seen comforting his wife Anne and daughter Astrid as the flower-covered coffins of his three children Alfred, Alma and Agnes emerged from their hearses at Aarhus Cathedral in Denmark.

Astrid was seen walking with her parents towards one of the three hearses to cut a bouquet of balloons from a coffin.

Yesterday's service was attended by members of the Danish Royal Family and the country's Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen. Crown Princess Mary could be seen holding her daughter Princess Isabella as she was flanked by her son Prince Vincent and daughter Princess Josephine.

At a memorial service last week Mr Povlsen described the family's loss as 'utterly incomprehensible' but thanked family, friends and neighbours in the Danish town of Brande for their love and support and promised to come through the tragedy 'together'.

He was staying with his family at the Shangri-La Hotel in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo when it was hit by suicide bombers Zahran Hashim, suspected plot mastermind, and Ilham Ibrahim, the son of a millionaire spice merchant.

His son Alfred and two daughters Alma and Agnes were killed in the blast, while his third daughter Astrid survived. It is thought he was injured in the attacks himself, though it is not clear how seriously he was hurt.
