EFCC seizes Saraki’s houses, marks others in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized some houses belonging to Senate President Bukola Saraki. The houses, which are located at 15a, 15b and 17 MacDonald Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, are said to belong to Saraki.

However, the EFCC was said to be unsure of which of the properties that actually belong to the Senate President and decided to place inscriptions and stickers on all of them.

While 15a and 15b were declared by Saraki in his asset declaration form, it is believed that some other houses on the street were bought by the Senate President from the Presidential Implementation Committee for the Sales of Government Property through shell companies.

I’ve never been paid to perform –Dayo Amusa

It is not news that popular actress, Dayo Amusa, is also a singer. However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Amusa said she was yet to make money from music despite investing heavily in it. She stated, “I know I have invested a lot of funds in recording songs, shooting videos and promoting then, but the returns have not been encouraging.”

She stated that inasmuch as she was in love with music, she didn’t consider herself a performing artiste. She said, “Although I have performed for a few friends, I am not a performing artiste. I have never been paid to perform at an event.”

The actress explained that she recorded her new song, Mosorire, to appreciate God for all He had done in her life. “When I was writing the song, I didn’t have anything in mind; I just wanted to thank God. I believe that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. I take my time to do music because I make meaningful songs. Also, you know I do movies as well and I believe in focusing on one project at a time. Those times I wasn’t doing movies, I was focused on other things,” she added.

I don’t want to die before my mother –Oga Bello

Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, has a major fear – he doesn’t want his 104-year-old mother to bury him.

The actor, who recently clocked 67, admitted that God had been merciful to him. He stated, “I thank Allah for what he has done in my life. I am fulfilled at 67, but one of those things I still pray to God for is that I don’ want to die before my mother. I want to be the one to bury her by His grace. I also want good health and long life. Apart from all this, I am satisfied. I am still relevant in my industry. I am contented financially and my children are doing well.”

The actor also stated that people didn’t die at a young age in his family. He said, “My mother is 104 years old, while my father died in 2004 at the age of 102. We live long in my family. However, you cannot compare how they lived in the past with how we live now. I am still very young, though I don’t want to get too old before I die.”

Again Fadeyi Oloro cries out for help! Don’t let me die this way

Fadeyi Oloro has again cried out for help saying Nigerians shouldn’t let him die this way. The sick actor cried out during a recent interview saying;

I want people to stand up and help me now that I need help. I don’t want people to come to my grave when I am no more and come and be crying. It is now that they should come out and help me financially because I want to be back on my feet. I have a long way to go in this industry.

Speaking further, he said;

I am not okay, that is because I have exhausted all the money with me for treatment. This is not my house. It was when the whole thing started that my family brought me here to keep a low profile.

I used to stay at Meiran, Lagos State. And I have been reaching out to the public, but I had to face my God. I was not like this before, I could not walk. But I am better now.

Right now, I don’t have enough money for the treatment I need. I cannot work at the moment; my shoulder, hand and legs are not responding well. I cannot stand on my own, I am usually assisted whenever I want to stand or use my walk(ing) stick as support. I am just pleading with my fans and lovers to continue and stand up for support, some people have tried, but I need more financial support.

I have no womb and won’t be able to have a child, Nse Ikpe-Etim reveals

Top Nollywood actress, Nse Etim has revealed that she has no womb and won’t be able to have a child. She revealed this during an event in Lekki, Lagos where she had a chat with her fans in what was tagged ‘Conversation with Nse’.

She revealed she was diagnosed three years ago with Adenomyosis, a condition where the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus, and so her womb had to be removed for her to live a normal life.

“I was told I couldn’t have kids. And so, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to make me have a life again and to stop going through what I was going through. And I’m literarily telling women and men, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe,” she told her fans/audience.

Recalling her reaction when the doctor first told her she won’t be able to give birth, she said;

“Tears dropped and then my husband squeezed my hand. It was reassuring there was someone there and it was telling me that this is reality, my reality.

“I didn’t think there was any point anymore because my society taught me that I have to be a mother to be appreciated and every time I went online, I would have one troll or two say ‘you never born?’

“But I’m thankful that that didn’t break me. I’m thankful for Nollywood,” she said.

Beyonce gave birth to Solange as a teen and is actually 44, according to wild theory

Beyonce gave birth to Solange as a teen and is actually 45, according to a wild conspiracy theory.

The claims, which have been circulated online, suggest the singer fell pregnant as a young teenager and the baby was raised by her parents as her sister.

In a bid to explain the strange theory, it's claimed that Beyonce is actually seven years older than she claims to be.

Her given date of birth is September 4th, 1981 - meaning she would have been too young to have given birth to Solange, who is 32 and was born in 1986.

However, the theory suggests Beyonce has rolled back the clock on her age and was actually born in 1974 - making her 44.

It would mean Beyonce would have been pregnant at 12 or 13.

The rumour is believed to have been started by an online post from someone who claimed to have spent four years working at Beyonce's Columbia record label.

They shared an in-depth of the unfounded age-change rumours, and claiming Beyonce's cousin confirmed Solance was actually the singer's daughter.

The post stated: "Beyonce's precise birthdate is 9/4/1974.

"I saw a picture of her driver's licence that was on my manager's computer once don't ask how.

"Beyonce and Solange are both teenage mothers, I do not know the paternity of Solange."

The poster goes on to explain where she heard the baby story, writing: "I have heard many crazy things while working at Columbia for four years.

"The Beyonce stuff a close relative of hers told me so I am more prone to believe that..

"Bee's cousin told me Beyonce's daughter is Solange and she said it to me in confidence after the topic of teenage pregnancies came up.

"She is not the sarcastic type either so I doubt she would make something up that is so scandalous about her own cousin."

If the story was true, it would make Beyonce a grandmother as Solange gave birth to a son, Daniel, when she was 18.

The theory has done the rounds online and many believe they've found proof that Beyonce is lying about her age.

It stems from an interview given by actress Gabrielle Union, who claimed that she and Beyonce have been friends "since we were teenagers".

Gabrielle is 46 and was born in 1972 - so it's impossible for her to have been a teenager at the same time as Beyonce if the singer was born in 1981 as she claims.

Married couple who got engaged after one week defend 25-year age gap

A married couple who got engaged one week into dating and have a 25-year age gap are hitting back at haters who say they must be "kidding" about their relationship.

Areil Duncan, 28, met her beau, Steven, 53, on a dating website and initially thought the turf equipment technician was too old for her but they hit it off a few weeks later.

After first meeting in December 2016, the couple became official on New Year's Eve and were engaged just a week later.

They were married in May 2017 and have since built a life together - and are soon hoping to try for children.

However, during their two-year relationship the couple have received abuse on a daily basis in the form of judgemental glares, people asking if they are "kidding" when revealing their connection and even mistaking Steven for Areil's dad.

Now the couple, from Pennsylvania, US, are sharing their story in hope that it will break the stigma behind age gap relationships.

Areil, a teacher, said: "I initially wasn't looking for an age gap relationship as, even though Steven looked good for his age, he was too old for me.

"But we eventually hit it off and have been together ever since - we are married and hope to spend the rest of our lives together, alongside hopefully trying for children soon.

"However, since being together, we have continually received comments about our relationship - we can tell that being together makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable.

"We get a lot of stares - some are angry, some confused, some curious - and we often get comments about our age difference.

"We've had people saying that Steve is old enough to be my father, people asking if we're 'kidding' about our relationship and that they didn't think we would last.

"But we try to ignore it, we're both adults so age does not really matter.

Areil said: "We want people to realise that as long as you are both consenting adults, there is no reason that age should matter.

"We are happy and we hope that when we do one day have children, they will not have to hear the comments that we do.

"We have true love and that is all that matters - age is just a number and the stigma behind these sorts of relationships needs to be destroyed."

Blac Chyna allegedly threatens stylist with knife

Blac Chyna and her hairdresser got into it early today, and it allegedly ended with Chyna pulling a knife on the stylist who then hurled soda cans at Chyna's car.

Chyna and her stylist were at her San Fernando Valley home when things got heated over money Chyna alleged owed the hairdresser.

The hairdresser filed a police report, claiming Chyna threatened her with a knife when the stylist asked for payment. Chyna sources deny she pulled a knife, but claim the hairdresser left in a huff and threw soda cans at Chyna's car.

Chyna's 6-year-old child, King, whom she shares with Tyga, was present during the fight and now that a police report has been filed,  theL.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services will get involved and at the very least do a welfare check.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry don't have full legal custody of baby Archie

They only welcomed their first child into the world a few days ago, but new parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle don't technically have custody of their baby, thanks to a long-standing law.

According to royal expert Marlene Koenig, even second-in-line to the throne Prince William and wife Kate Middleton don't legally have full custody of their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

This is because the family has an agreement with the Queen, which means she is granted full legal custody over all minor royals.

Koenig further explained the rule to the Sun Online. She said: "The sovereign has legal custody of the minor grandchildren.

"Legislation passed during the reign of George I. It was known as The Grand Opinion for the Prerogative Concerning the Royal Family and it was about the King’s control over the education, the raising and the marriage of his grandchildren.

"He did it because he had a very poor relationship with his son, the future King George II, so they had this law passed that meant the King was the guardian of his grandchildren."

The law dates back more than 300 years to 1717, a time when the monarch's "right of supervision extended to his grandchildren and this right of right belongs to His Majesty, King of the Realm, even during their father’s lifetime".

The Queen also had full custody of William and Harry when they were younger.

This fact first came to light when Prince Charles and Princess Diana got divorced in 1996.

In the couple's divorce agreement there was no mention of custody arrangements for the children, despite arrangements being made.

This was because neither parent had full custody, instead this belonged to the Queen.

This meant Charles and Diana had to get the Queen's permission before doing simple things with their children, such as going on holiday.

Lagos Assembly refuses to transfer budget to Ambode

About two weeks after the Lagos State House of Assembly passed the 2019 budget, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has yet to receive it.

Punch correspondent gathered that the Assembly might be awaiting May 29 when the governor-elect,  Babajide Sanwo-Olu, would be sworn into office.

A source told Punch correspondent that government projects had been stalled due to the impasse. He accused the lawmakers of playing politics with the development of the state.

He said, “They just refused to pass it to the governor because they want to play politics with the budget. Most of the people in the Assembly are loyal to one man and he appears to be dictating to them.

“But what more do they want to do to Ambode? They have humiliated him, denied him his return ticket, and even threatened to impeach him. What has he done to deserve all that?

“What they failed to realise is that this is beyond Ambode. It is about Lagos State. It is about governance. Since they took this decision not to pass the budget to him, things have been at a standstill. No development; nothing. This is wrong at all levels because people’s lives are being held.”

Car crushes 4-year-old boy to death inside parents’ compound

The life of a four-year-old boy, Segun Egunbambi, has been cut short after he was knocked down by a car inside his parents’ compound on Aduragbemi Street, Alagbado area of Lagos State.

City Round learnt that the Toyota Camry car, with the number plate, KTU 242 FC, was driven by one Adenowo Adeyiga.

Adeyiga was said to be returning home from Ijegun – on the outskirts of Lagos – when his car had a brake failure and lost control.

The vehicle reportedly veered into Egunbambis’ compound located along the street and knocked down the boy, who was playing on the premises.

It was gathered that Egunbambi sustained leg injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in the neighbourhood for treatment. He died from the injuries some hours later.

The incident was reported at the Alagbado Police Station and Adeyiga was arrested.

The police accused Adeyiga of reckless driving, adding that he did not have a driving licence.

The suspect stated that he had applied the brakes as he wanted to make a turn at a junction around the scene of the incident but to his surprise, the brakes did not respond.

The 49-year-old man stated that he rammed into the compound in the ensuing confusion.

He said, “On May 4, 2019, around 12noon, I was returning home from Ijegun in my car. I wanted to turn at a junction, two streets to my house when I discovered that my car brakes had failed. Immediately the accident happened, I rushed the boy to Holyfield Hospital at Ile Epo (a neighbouring community).

“He was referred to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi and I went to the police station to make a report.”

He, however, refuted the allegation that he drove the car without a driving licence.

Adeyiga was consequently brought before an Ikeja magistrates’ court sitting in Ogba by a police prosecutor, ASP Benson Emuerhi, on three counts bordering on reckless driving and manslaughter.

The charges read in part, “That you, Adenowo Adeyiga, on May 4, 2019, at around 12pm, along Aduragbemi Street, Casso Alagbado, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, being the driver in charge of a Toyota Camry, with the number plate, KTU 242 FC, drove same on the public road in a dangerous and reckless manner and caused the death of one Segun Egunbambi, aged four, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 20(1), Cap 172, Vol 45, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2012.

“That you, Adenowo Adeyiga, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, being the driver of the above mentioned vehicle, drove same on public road without a driving licence, which is against traffic rules and regulation, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 7(1) and punishable under Section 45, Cap 172, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.”

The accused pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him by the court registrar.

He was granted bail by the presiding magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat, in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in the like sum.

The case was adjourned till June 20, 2019.

Photos: Beyonce rocks a skintight catsuit while enjoying NBA game with husband

She rarely gets a date night with her husband as they are both busy megastars.

But Beyonce enjoyed some time with Jay-Z without work responsibilities or their three children as they were spotted at an NBA game in Houston on Friday.

The pop sensation, 37, rocked an alluring catsuit with her rapper beau, 49, wrapping his arms around her as they enjoyed the basketball contest in her hometown.

Daring to impress, the Formation singer paired the scintillating look with a set of black high heels and small retro sunglasses.

The loved up couple - who share daughter Blue Ivy, seven,  looked to be enjoying the game involving the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets.

It was revealed earlier this month that Beyonce would be partnering with Adidas to re-launch her Ivy Park athleisure range.

The mother-of-three didn't explain why she was posing alongside the dozens of pairs of shoes but it's likely a glimpse into the creative process and what she'll be offering with the new collection.

The singer, who serves as creative partner for the brand, said in a statement earlier this month: 'This is the partnership of a lifetime for me,'

'We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.'

The Ivy Park fitness collection debuted in 2016 as a joint venture with Topshop's Sir Philip Green, with an initial line of leggings, bodysuits, tank tops and sweatshirts.
