Sweet gesture that suggests Meghan Markle has fully embraced life as a royal

When Meghan Markle first married Prince Harry, she repeatedly came under fire for actions which seemingly went against royal traditions and protocol.

From not wearing a hat during an engagement with the queen to closing her own car door and dressing in a manner which was too 'Hollywood'.

But one of her biggest 'faux pas' came during an awards ceremony. When making a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards in December 2018, the Duchess of Sussex was photographed wearing dark nail polish - something the Queen has been known to consider 'vulgar'.


Commonly royals are seen to wear very light pink or nude shades of nail polish when attending events.

The Queen herself has sworn by the same colour varnish for over 30 years - a £7.99 bottle of Essie's Ballet Slippers.

And while she may have hit a few bumps in the road whilst learning to truly become a member of Britain's most famous family, it seems Meghan may have finally embraced her royal lifestyle.

This is because of a sweet gesture the new mum made in a photo on Instagram .

Posting on her and Harry's joint account, SussexRoyal, to mark Mother's Day in the US, the 37-year-old shared a snap of her cradling baby Archie's feet near some beautiful flowers.

While being quite arty, the photo also shows Meghan's nails, which are coated in a nude shade of nail varnish.

The simple, yet effective, nod to the Queen's beauty preference suggests the Duchess has learnt and taken on board the dos and don'ts of being married to a prince.

Photos: Tragedy averted as 40-feet container truck falls on bus loading passengers

Tragedy was averted today at Ihiala, Anambra State, when a truck carrying a 40-feet container somersaulted and crushed two vehicles along Total Filling Station. The container had fallen, crushed an SUV and another transportation vehicle waiting to load passengers. But thankfully no live was lost.

Journalist and women's rights campaigner, Mena Mangal shot dead in Kabul

A prominent Afghan journalist and political adviser has been gunned down in Kabul, just days after she warned on social media that she feared for her life.

Mena Mangal was shot dead on Saturday morning in south-east Kabul. The attack, in broad daylight in a public place, prompted an outpouring of grief and anger from women’s rights activists, directed at authorities who had left her unprotected in the face of threats.

“This woman had already shared that her life was in danger; why did nothing happen? We need answers,” said Wazhma Frogh, an Afghan human rights lawyer and women’s rights campaigner. “Why is it so easy in this society [for men] to keep killing women they disagree with?”

Mangal had shared her fears in a defiant post on Face­book on 3 May. She said she was being sent threatening messages but declared that a strong woman wasn’t afraid of death, and that she loved her country.


Interior ministry spokesman Nas­rat Rahimi said unknown attackers had shot Mangal, and a special police unit was now investigating.

In a tearful video posted to Twitter, Mangal’s mother named a group of men as suspected killers, claiming they had previously kidnapped her daughter. The group were arrested for that abduction, she said, but later bribed their way out of detention.

Mangal made her name as a presenter on the Pashto-language channel Tolo TV, the country’s largest private broadcaster, and later worked for one of its key competitors, Shamshad TV.

Off-screen she was a passionate advocate of women’s rights to education and work, and had recently become a cultural adviser to the lower chamber of Afghanistan’s national parliament

The young man, Segun had gone on twitter to complain about how he fairly passed JAMB twice, and now that he has a sponsor, JAMB decided to fail him. He then told his followers to join him 9pm last night, where he will show them how to make tea with sniper.
He is however said to be fine as help came his way fast.

Most generous bosses who take staff to Disney World - and one even donated a kidney

Staff at a company where bosses allow them to take as much paid leave as they want are possibly the luckiest employees in the country

Mike Bandar, 29, and James Vardy, 31, bosses at Birmingham-based Turn Partners, have been dubbed ‘Britain’s Best Bosses’ as their staff can work wherever they like and regularly treat the whole team to luxury holidays to escape the miserable British weather.

Mike, who runs the company with his  business partner James, says: “James and I had always dreamed of running a close-knit business where the staff have flexibility and can enjoy life to the full.

“Having a an incredibly happy team always leads to creating amazing business.


"So from time to time, we like to treat our team to a month-long holiday so that we can all escape the cold British weather and not go too long without some sunshine."

But they're not the only generous bosses out there...

Earlier this year a restaurant boss closed her restaurant and took 20 employees and their families to Disney World in Florida.

Gypsy Gilliam, owner of the State Farmers’ Market Restaurant in Raleigh, North Carolina, jetted all 53 people to Disney for an all-expenses paid trip.

She covered the hotel, transportation, meals and attraction tickets for her hardworking staff.

Another generous boss Chatri Sityodton, founder of mixed martial arts company Evolve.

He spent nearly £400,000 on a luxury holiday to the Maldives for 100 of his employees as a 'small token' of his gratitude and flew them out on an all-expenses paid trip.

A boss who went that extra mile for his staff was Robert DeAngelis, a manager of a wine shop who gave his own kidney to an employee.

Robert Fenstermaker, from Pennsylvania in the US, needed the life-saving op back in 2009.

His boss said: "He was a such a nice guy, and he was looking terrible.

"If there was something we could do, we were going to do it. That was the bottom line."

One CEO took a pay cut so he could give everyone else a payrise.

In 2015, Dan Price, CEO of US company Gravity Payments, cut his million-dollar pay cheque down to $70,000 so his staff could enjoy the cash.

When the co-founder and CEO of Turkey’s biggest online food ordering service, Yemeksepeti, sold his company in 2015, he didn't keep it for himself.

Nevzat Aydin actually divided the cash out to his employees.

The serial entrepreneur gave away the equivalent of $27.3million to his 115 staff members.

He said: "Some employees cried, some screamed, some wrote letters of thanks.

"There were emotions, because you affect the lives of the people. People can buy homes, cars.”

FG will no longer do business with AMCON debtors, Osinbajo warns

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the weekend said the federal government will deal decisively with individuals and organisations that made the list of high-profile obligors of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

He said the debtors have made it impossible for the corporation to resolve its outstanding N5trillion debt, thereby holding the entire country to ransom with their bad behaviour.

Osinbajo was quoted in a statement issued by AMCON, as disclosing a plan by the government to set up an inter-agency collaboration framework that would comprise relevant government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and supervised by his office to ensure that institutions and individuals that are indebted to AMCON are not allowed to do business with the government henceforth.


The vice president who spoke when he received some board members and management of AMCON at the State House, Abuja, led by the Board Chairman, Dr. Muiz Banire, said the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, would no longer fold its hands and allow a few individuals that owe AMCON huge sums of money to walk freely on the streets in the country.

“I think the time has come for us (federal government) to set some examples with some of these top debtors of AMCON, which I believe will set a good example and serve as deterrent to others,” he said.

Gunmen kill six during Catholic mass in Burkina Faso

Armed attackers killed a priest and five worshippers during mass on Sunday in an attack on a Catholic church in northern Burkina Faso.

The attackers - numbering between 20 and 30 - managed to trap some of the people inside then set fire to the church in the town of Dablo, about 200km from the capital Ouagadougou.

Several shops were also torched before they headed to the local health centre, which they looted and then torched the chief nurse's vehicle.

"Towards 9am, during mass, armed individuals burst into the Catholic church," said Ousmane Zongo, the mayor of Dablo. "They started firing as the congregation tried to flee."


"They killed five of them. The priest, who was celebrating mass, was also killed, bringing the number of dead to six."

Urbain Kabore, a government spokesman for the West African country's Sahel region, said the attackers also destroyed all places serving alcohol.

"People are holed up in their homes, nothing is going on. The shops and stores are closed. It's practically a ghost town," he said.

Trolls mock bride-to-be's 'pitiful' engagement ring

Choosing the perfect engagement ring is a tough task for anyone planning to pop the question. So finding out your partner - and soon to be wife (or husband) - loves it is the biggest relief in the world.

But what do you do if you find out everyone else seems to hate it? One woman was relentlessly mocked after sharing a photo of the ring her boyfriend picked out for her.

The 'minimalist' ring, which he bought from the online marketplace Etsy, is a plain silver band with a very small diamond.

She posted a snap in a wedding shaming Facebook group with the message: "My bf and I ordered my ring online and I am in LOVE with it!"


But before long the photo attracted a lot of negative comments, with people telling her the ring was awful and she shouldn't wear it, reports the Sun .

One wrote: "Why even bother having a diamond there."

Another added: "It's so pitiful, I just can’t. It's too sad."

One woman asked why she was even bothering to wear the ring.

Others compared it to a keyring and said the diamond looked more like a piece of tinfoil.

Man beaten to death by estranged wife’s lover as he tries to woo her back

A desperate man’s bid to reconcile with his estranged wife took a turn for the worse after he was beaten to death by the wife’s lover.

New Zimbabwe reports that Robert Sibanda of Chivhu met his untimely demise after he went to the house where his estranged wife, Svodai Manjengwa, was now cohabiting with her new lover, one Sundirai Simango.

According to Acting Mashonaland East police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Misheck Denhere, Sibanda, was alleged to have broken a window at Simango’s house in Chivhu’s Highview suburb in order to gain entry.


He was said to have begged Svodai to return with him to the couple’s matrimonial home.

Unfortunately, Sibanda was said to have also insulted Simango in the process, who responded asymmetrically by using an iron bar to assault Sibanda all over his body.

After beating Sibanda until he was unconscious, Simango handed himself over to the police when he filed a police report.

Sibanda was pronounced dead on arrival at Chivhu Hospital. Simango has since been charged with murder and was remanded in custody when he appeared at the court.

Svodai, on the other hand, fled from the scene of the crime and has not been seen since the fateful day.

Hoodlums attack Yung6ix in lagos, ear, car damaged

Hoodlums on Sunday attacked rapper Yung6ix along Alpha Beach road in Lekki, Lagos. It was gathered that the rapper was waylaid before they carried out the attack on him. One of his chains was stolen; his ear-ring forcefully removed leaving his earlobe injured.

The hoodlums also damaged his car. Reacting to the attack on social media, the rapper wrote;

‘All I wanted to do was show love’.

Ex-convicts, other arrested for robbery in Lagos

Men of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested two ex-convicts and one other suspect for alleged robbery in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Punch Metro gathered that the suspects, Emmanuel Michael, Mohammed Abubakar and Simeon Michael, allegedly robbed a 25-year-old woman in Lekki Phase I on Monday, May 6, 2019.

It was learnt that the men were arrested by a patrol team after the victim called for help.

Emmanuel, who was released from the Oke-Kura Prison, Kwara State, on Friday, April 26, 2019, allegedly told the police that he was previously jailed for manslaughter.


The 20-year-old said, “I was imprisoned in Kwara for almost four years for manslaughter.

“With the assistance of my brother, I came to Lagos after my release and resided in Alaba Rago, Ojo. It was in that ghetto that I met Abubakar, who said I should accompany him to Lekki.

“He paid the transport fares from Ojo to Lekki. He did not tell me he was going to rob. He only told me to play along with him.”

Abubakar, 25, who is also an ex-convict, said the gang pretended to be cult members to put fear in the victim and dispossess her of her valuables.

He said, “We saw the lady and our intention was to scare her into parting with her mobile phone. We told her that we were Aiye cult members and that the colour of her dress gave her away as a rival cult member.

“I told Emmanuel to confirm if she was truly a rival cult member. I thereafter threatened to kill her on that spot if she did not cooperate with me. I took her phone and asked her to go and get us drinks.

“She left to get the drinks when we jumped on a motorcycle and fled. Unfortunately for us, we did not know that a police team was patrolling the area. She called for help and chased us on another motorcycle. They caught up with us at Lekki Phase I gate and that was where the police arrested us.”

Abubakar, who claimed to be a stylist, said he was arrested in Maryland, Lagos, in September 2018 for robbery before he was released in December 2018 from the Ikoyi Prison.

“I have operated in Lekki, Agege, Bariga, Shitta, Okoko, Maryland areas of Lagos. In all honesty, we are not cult members. We only used that code to dispossess her of their phone. What we did is common among teenagers raised in Alaba. It is called student parole,” he added.

The state Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Mu’azu, was said to have directed the RRS decoy team to comb all areas where the robbers operated.

The police said the suspects were transferred to the State Anti-Robbery Squad for further investigation.

Michael Jackson's son graduates from university

Prince Jackson has graduated from university. Michael Jackson 's eldest child made his family super proud as he completed his studies at Loyola Marymount University, walking away with a degree in business.

Prince, 22, shared pictures and videos from his big day on Instagram , including one of him snuggling up to his girlfriend, Molly Schirmang, as they donned their matching graduation gowns and caps.

"He sounds like Mortal Kombat," he joked as he shared a video of the man who was reading everybody's names out as they went up on stage to collect their diplomas.


Prince, who is big brother to Paris and Blanket, also shared a video of himself in the parking lot as he revealed his mode of transport.

Prince, who's real name is Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, made his family very proud.

His cousin, TJ Jackson, smiled as he posed with him for a picture.

Sharing it on Twitter , he wrote: "Prince, it’s been a long road but you did it. Keep learning, keep growing and keep giving back! So so proud of you. I love you."

Fans of the famous family offered their own congratulations.

Chris Attoh's murdered wife was actually married to a drug lord when she married the actor

Police have revealed that, Chris Attoh’s murdered wife, Bettie Jenifer who was gunned down while leaving her office on Friday, was married to two different men simultaneously, one of whom is a convicted Baltimore drug lord, serving a 20-year jail term.

The Greenbelt police in a statement released, describing how the 44-year-old Bettie Jenifer was killed, said that she left her office in the 6300 block of Ivy Lane about 5 p.m. and was walking to her car when a man armed with a handgun approached her.

When she tried to run away, the man followed her and fired multiple rounds. At least one bullet struck her in the head, police said.


The suspect took off in a vehicle. Police described the suspect as black and having a thin build with black hair. He was wearing dark clothing and may have been in a blue car.

Police also confirmed Jenifer was married to Chris Attoh, a well-known actor and TV host in Ghana. At the same time, they said she was also married to 47-year-old Kedrick Jenifer, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for importing large amounts of cocaine into Baltimore from Texas.

The U.S. District Attorney’s Office said the kingpin’s “Jenifer drug trafficking organization” distributed at least 450 kilograms of cocaine in Baltimore and Woodbridge, Virginia.

“Kedrick Jenifer lived large as a major Baltimore drug dealer, but now he will lose all of his toys and live for two decades in federal prison,” U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said in a news release after his sentencing, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Court records show that Kedrick Jenifer filed for a divorce on April 9. Bettie Jenifer then filed for divorce six days later.

Greenbelt police confirmed Sunday the shooting was targeted and not a random incident. Police have not named a suspect or motive in the case.

Co-workers said Bettie Jenifer worked at a temporary staffing agency on the first floor.

Photo: Hoodlums steal female underwear in Ogun

Three suspected cult members have been arrested with female underwear allegedly tied with charms in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun  State.

The suspects – Olagboye Abidemi, 32; Olasemojo Michael, 28; and Wasiu Waheed, 23 – were reportedly members of the Eiye Confraternity.

They were arrested on Friday by men of the Ogun State Police Command who reportedly stormed their initiation hideout in the Agbowa area of Ogijo.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest.


Oyeyemi said the arrest was made in continuation of the command’s war on cultism and other violent crimes.

He said, “The DPO Ogijo division, CSP Muhammed Baba, while leading his men on Operation Puff Adder on a routine patrol, got  information about the hideout of the cultists where they usually initiate new members.

“The place was stormed and three members of the group were arrested.

“Recovered from them were one jackknife, one bloodstained silver knife,  female underwear tied with charms and other assorted charms.”

The PPRO, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Kidnapping/Anti-Cultism section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

Lagos commissioner for strategy escapes death as drive doze off on wheels (photos)

Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan has escaped death by the whiskers as his vehicle was involved in a serious accident.

Bamigbetan’s jeep rammed into an armoured carrier as his driver dozed off while on top speed on their way from farm.

The impact of the crash flung Bamigbetan at the windscreen, but God saved him from death.

According to Bamigbetan on his Facebook wall, “His mercy endures forever. The driver drove into an armoured carrier on our way from the farm. I was taking a nap in the rear seat. The impact flung me at the windscreen. He dozed off on speed. But our Creator was in charge. He saved us from the calamity. To God be the glory.”

Lagos deputy gov-elect, Hamzat loses father

Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos deputy governor-elect, has lost his father, Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat.

In a tweet on Sunday, Hamzat stated: ”Today, I lost my father Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat, Olu of Afowowa. I thank Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful for the life he lived.

One of the greatest gifts a father can give his children is courage & belief in their dreams. Thank you Father for believing in ours.”

Obafemi Hamzat ran with Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu in the Lagos governorship race which they won under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC). They are due to be sworn in on 29 May.
