Three suspected cult members have been arrested with female underwear allegedly tied with charms in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun  State.

The suspects – Olagboye Abidemi, 32; Olasemojo Michael, 28; and Wasiu Waheed, 23 – were reportedly members of the Eiye Confraternity.

They were arrested on Friday by men of the Ogun State Police Command who reportedly stormed their initiation hideout in the Agbowa area of Ogijo.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest.


Oyeyemi said the arrest was made in continuation of the command’s war on cultism and other violent crimes.

He said, “The DPO Ogijo division, CSP Muhammed Baba, while leading his men on Operation Puff Adder on a routine patrol, got  information about the hideout of the cultists where they usually initiate new members.

“The place was stormed and three members of the group were arrested.

“Recovered from them were one jackknife, one bloodstained silver knife,  female underwear tied with charms and other assorted charms.”

The PPRO, however, said the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Anti-Kidnapping/Anti-Cultism section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.

Lagos commissioner for strategy escapes death as drive doze off on wheels (photos)

Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kehinde Bamigbetan has escaped death by the whiskers as his vehicle was involved in a serious accident.

Bamigbetan’s jeep rammed into an armoured carrier as his driver dozed off while on top speed on their way from farm.

The impact of the crash flung Bamigbetan at the windscreen, but God saved him from death.

According to Bamigbetan on his Facebook wall, “His mercy endures forever. The driver drove into an armoured carrier on our way from the farm. I was taking a nap in the rear seat. The impact flung me at the windscreen. He dozed off on speed. But our Creator was in charge. He saved us from the calamity. To God be the glory.”

Lagos deputy gov-elect, Hamzat loses father

Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos deputy governor-elect, has lost his father, Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat.

In a tweet on Sunday, Hamzat stated: ”Today, I lost my father Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat, Olu of Afowowa. I thank Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful for the life he lived.

One of the greatest gifts a father can give his children is courage & belief in their dreams. Thank you Father for believing in ours.”

Obafemi Hamzat ran with Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu in the Lagos governorship race which they won under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC). They are due to be sworn in on 29 May.

Blackout looms as labour plans power transmission shutdown

The Trade Union Congress has asked Nigerians to look for alternative power source beginning from Monday (today), as it declared that it would shut down the nationwide operations of the Transmission Company of Nigeria today.

But the TCN described the move by TUC as ill-motivated, stressing that it was wrong for the labour union to claim that there was industrial disharmony in the transmission company.

It was also learnt that the plan by the TUC to ground operations at the transmission firm had caused disagreement between the two major unions in the power sector.

Wonders they say shall never end. A lady is said to be battling to save one of her eyes so it doesn’t go blind after a man she is meant to marry in just 3 months -- August, 2019 beat her blue black.

The lady is said to be fond of covering him up in the name of ‘where do I start from’. But on this one, there was no way she could cover him up as her family are now battling how to save the affected eyes.

Shots fired 'at rapper NBA Youngboy' near Trump resort in Miami

The rapper called 'NBA Youngboy' has reportedly been shot at near a Trump resort in Miami.

According to US media at least three people have suffered gunshot wounds. Two men have been arrested.

It has been reported that NBA Youngboy has been 'feuding' with Sara Molina, who is linked to rapper 6ix9ine. He had been due to perform in the city tonight, according heavy.com.

7 News Miami, the local network report: "The shooting occurred at the Alamo Rent A Car along Collins Avenue, across from the Trump International Beach Resort, Sunday afternoon."


They add that there was a 'road rage dispute'. Police are said to be searching for a further third suspect.

Some eyewitnesses say the shooting was an attempted drive-by but several other witnesses are saying this was a road rage incident.

Witnesses report hearing gunshots at the entrance of the hotel and officers returning fire.

NBA YoungBoy's involvement has not been independently confirmed.

Meghan Markle shares sweet photo of baby Archie on US Mother's Day

The Duchess of Sussex has shared an adorable photo of her newborn baby's feet to mark Mother's Day in the US.

Meghan Markle posted the picture on the House of Sussex's official Instagram page on Sunday afternoon.

It shows the Duchess's hand cradling the tiny bare feet of baby Archie, who was born six days ago.

It is thought the photo was taken at Frogmore Cottage, the Sussex’s Windsor home in the grounds of Windor Castle.


Princess Diana's favourite flower - forget me nots - can be seen in the background. The 37-year-old also took the time to pay a tribute to mothers across the word.

Mum dies after undergoing Brazilian butt-lift surgery

A mum-of-three who underwent a Brazilian butt-lift procedure died after suffering "complications" during the procedure.

Danea Plasencia, 28, was having the $3,600 cosmetic surgery at Mia Aesthetics in Miami, Florida, on Friday when things went wrong.

Police were called at 11.13am to reports of a "woman in distress" at the clinic. Her grandfather, Marcio Ferez, said doctors had finished the cosmetic surgery when the problems started.

He told NBC6: "They moved her body to the stretcher, and all of a sudden, she became blue."


She was rushed to hospital but later died. Police are now investigating what happened.

Danea, who celebrated her birthday just six days earlier, was the mum of three children aged nine, five and one.

A spokesman for the clinic, which calls itself "the most affordable plastic surgery clinic in Miami, Florida" said this was the only fatality which had ever taken place there.

He said: "Our team is devastated by this tragedy and feels that each and every one of our patients is part of our family. We strive to provide the most advanced plastic surgery treatment for our patients.

"Each of our surgeons is board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and we are constantly evaluating our practices to ensure our patients receive the safest and best care. Despite these practices, serious surgery comes with the risk of rare, unintended and tragic results.

"We are fully dedicated to investigating why today’s tragedy occurred. We will be fully transparent with our patients and with the public as more details emerge."

EFCC seizes Saraki’s houses, marks others in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized some houses belonging to Senate President Bukola Saraki. The houses, which are located at 15a, 15b and 17 MacDonald Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, are said to belong to Saraki.

However, the EFCC was said to be unsure of which of the properties that actually belong to the Senate President and decided to place inscriptions and stickers on all of them.

While 15a and 15b were declared by Saraki in his asset declaration form, it is believed that some other houses on the street were bought by the Senate President from the Presidential Implementation Committee for the Sales of Government Property through shell companies.

I’ve never been paid to perform –Dayo Amusa

It is not news that popular actress, Dayo Amusa, is also a singer. However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Amusa said she was yet to make money from music despite investing heavily in it. She stated, “I know I have invested a lot of funds in recording songs, shooting videos and promoting then, but the returns have not been encouraging.”

She stated that inasmuch as she was in love with music, she didn’t consider herself a performing artiste. She said, “Although I have performed for a few friends, I am not a performing artiste. I have never been paid to perform at an event.”

The actress explained that she recorded her new song, Mosorire, to appreciate God for all He had done in her life. “When I was writing the song, I didn’t have anything in mind; I just wanted to thank God. I believe that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. I take my time to do music because I make meaningful songs. Also, you know I do movies as well and I believe in focusing on one project at a time. Those times I wasn’t doing movies, I was focused on other things,” she added.

I don’t want to die before my mother –Oga Bello

Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, has a major fear – he doesn’t want his 104-year-old mother to bury him.

The actor, who recently clocked 67, admitted that God had been merciful to him. He stated, “I thank Allah for what he has done in my life. I am fulfilled at 67, but one of those things I still pray to God for is that I don’ want to die before my mother. I want to be the one to bury her by His grace. I also want good health and long life. Apart from all this, I am satisfied. I am still relevant in my industry. I am contented financially and my children are doing well.”

The actor also stated that people didn’t die at a young age in his family. He said, “My mother is 104 years old, while my father died in 2004 at the age of 102. We live long in my family. However, you cannot compare how they lived in the past with how we live now. I am still very young, though I don’t want to get too old before I die.”

Again Fadeyi Oloro cries out for help! Don’t let me die this way

Fadeyi Oloro has again cried out for help saying Nigerians shouldn’t let him die this way. The sick actor cried out during a recent interview saying;

I want people to stand up and help me now that I need help. I don’t want people to come to my grave when I am no more and come and be crying. It is now that they should come out and help me financially because I want to be back on my feet. I have a long way to go in this industry.

Speaking further, he said;

I am not okay, that is because I have exhausted all the money with me for treatment. This is not my house. It was when the whole thing started that my family brought me here to keep a low profile.


I used to stay at Meiran, Lagos State. And I have been reaching out to the public, but I had to face my God. I was not like this before, I could not walk. But I am better now.

Right now, I don’t have enough money for the treatment I need. I cannot work at the moment; my shoulder, hand and legs are not responding well. I cannot stand on my own, I am usually assisted whenever I want to stand or use my walk(ing) stick as support. I am just pleading with my fans and lovers to continue and stand up for support, some people have tried, but I need more financial support.

I have no womb and won’t be able to have a child, Nse Ikpe-Etim reveals

Top Nollywood actress, Nse Etim has revealed that she has no womb and won’t be able to have a child. She revealed this during an event in Lekki, Lagos where she had a chat with her fans in what was tagged ‘Conversation with Nse’.

She revealed she was diagnosed three years ago with Adenomyosis, a condition where the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus, and so her womb had to be removed for her to live a normal life.

“I was told I couldn’t have kids. And so, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to make me have a life again and to stop going through what I was going through. And I’m literarily telling women and men, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe,” she told her fans/audience.


Recalling her reaction when the doctor first told her she won’t be able to give birth, she said;

“Tears dropped and then my husband squeezed my hand. It was reassuring there was someone there and it was telling me that this is reality, my reality.

“I didn’t think there was any point anymore because my society taught me that I have to be a mother to be appreciated and every time I went online, I would have one troll or two say ‘you never born?’

“But I’m thankful that that didn’t break me. I’m thankful for Nollywood,” she said.
