Last night, singer Zlatan and others were released from EFCC’s custody and the entertainment scene has been agog ever since. Shortly after the release, news went round that Davido helped Zlatan and others secure their release by hiring lawyers for them. Zlatan’s ally, Aremo Gucci however felt offended with this and decided to react. While reacting Aremo Gucci says Davido was never part of the people that helped Zlatab out. In a video, he said, only Oladmide and Burna Boy helped.

Another close ally of Zlatan, Ebaycarder also said Davido never helped.

China blocks Wikipedia in all languages

Wikipedia has been blocked in mainland China since April, according to a press report which cites a statement from the Wikimedia foundation.

The BBC said Wednesday that all languages of the online encyclopedia were now unavailable to Chinese-based internet users. Beijing officials had already banned the Chinese language version of the site.

In a statement, published by the U.K. broadcaster, the foundation said: "In late April, the Wikimedia Foundation determined that Wikipedia was no longer accessible in China. After closely analyzing our internal traffic reports, we can confirm that Wikipedia is currently blocked across all language versions."


Thousands of websites cannot be accessed in China, with many often taken offline temporarily during the anniversaries of political events such as the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 when authorities killed thousands of student activists.

A Kano State high court Wednesday declared the appointment and the installation of four new emirs by the Kano State government as null and void.

It ordered a return to status quo pending the hearing of the suit against the appointment of the emirs.

The emirs were installed by the Governor Umaru Ganduje at the weekend following the balkanisation of the century-old emirate by the Kano state government that followed an unusually fast passage of a bill by the Kano State House of Assembly, The Guardian reports.

Teenage girl kills herself 'after Instagram poll' in Malaysia

A Malaysian teenager plunged to her death after conducting an Instagram poll on whether she should kill herself, police say.

The 16-year-old was found dead at the foot of a three-storey shop in the city of Kuching, on the island of Borneo, around 8pm on Tuesday.

The schoolgirl, who has not been named, had run a poll on the photo-sharing app with the question 'Really Important, Help Me Choose D/L', hours before jumping off the roof of the building.

The 'D/L' meant 'Death/Life', and the poll had showed 69 per cent of the girl's followers chose 'D', district police chief Aidil Bolhassan.


'We are conducting a post-mortem to determine whether there were other factors in her death,' he said, adding that the girl had a history of depression.

Bolhassan said the girl had posted a message on Facebook which said: 'WANNA QUIT F****** LIFE I'M TIRED.'

Her depression seemed to stem from the fact that her stepfather had married a Vietnamese woman and seldom returned home, Bolhassan added according to news site Astro Awani.

The girl's body has been taken for a post-mortem, but officers say the death is not being viewed as suspicious.

Instagram reviewed the teenager's account and found that the online poll, which ran over a 24-hour period, ended with 88% percent votes for 'L', said Wong Ching Yee, Instagram's head of communications in the Asia-Pacific.

Aidil, however, said that the poll's numbers may have changed after news of the girl's death spread.

The case had sparked concern among Malaysian lawmakers who called for a wider probe.

Ramkarpal Singh, a lawyer and member of parliament, said that those who voted for the teenager to die could be guilty of abetting suicide.

'Would the girl still be alive today if the majority of netizens on her Instagram account discouraged her from taking her own life?' he said in a statement.

Mikel Obi has returned to Super Eagles for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Mikel's last game for Nigeria was against Argentina at the 2018 Fifa World Cup and he is yet to feature for the country since their group stage exit in Russia.

The 32-year-old has missed the Super Eagles' last seven games, including five qualifying matches for the continental showpiece in Egypt.

In March, Rohr disclosed that the Middlesbrough midfielder missed out on selection due to a knee injury.

Bride-to-be due to marry in five days discovers her fiancé's son impregnated her 15-year-old daughter

The build-up to a wedding is stressful enough - but one couple were dealt a devastating blow in the week before their big day that threatened to put the whole thing in jeopardy.

A bride-to-be, believed to be from America, took to Facebook seeking advice after discovering her fiancé's 16-year-old son had got her 15-year-old daughter pregnant.

The anonymous woman revealed it was five days before their nuptials and questioned whether or not they should still go ahead.

Explaining that she and her fiancé have been engaged and planning their wedding for a year, the woman wrote: 'He has a 16-year-old son and I have a 15-year-old daughter.


'Two months ago we moved in together, so now we are a blended family.

'We are now five days away from the wedding. Yesterday my 15-year-old daughter and his 16-year-old son told both of us that she's pregnant. Edit: And he's the daddy.

She concluded the post with 'now what?', asking if she should still get married.

Her original Facebook announcement evoked 50 reactions and 70 comments, before it was grabbed and shared on the group That's it I'm wedding shaming.

There it notched up more than a thousand comments and reactions - and perhaps unsurprisingly, many weren't particularly sympathetic.

A number of group members likened it to a situation in Teen Mom, where teenage sweethearts Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell became step-siblings after their parents got together.

One joked: 'Oh you're gonna be a blended family now... That's a certainty!'

Another commented: 'Oh God what a mess and what a fun situation to explain to people in the future.'

And one wrote: 'Obviously they are not related but that doesn't make it fine. The family dynamics and relationship structures have changed. It's a lot for kids to deal with. Separate the kids. Get some family therapy.'

But several did relate to the bride-to-be's difficult situation, with some sharing their own similar experiences.

'This actually happened with a girl I went to school with, their parents did still get married and now the kids are engaged and have two kids,' one member commented.

Another revealed: 'My parents married and then years later my mom's mom married my dad's dad, making them step-siblings, my brothers my cousins and my grandparents my double grandparents. The situation for me isn't weird if they didn't spend time together as younger siblings.'

And one pointed out: 'They're not related FFS!' while one urged them to still marry but 'maybe not adopt each others kids,' adding: 'What a mess indeed.'

court remands two friends for allegedly gang raping 21-year old lady

An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that two friends,  Samson Shittu, 25, and Ramoni Animashaun, 24, who allegedly raped a 21-year-old woman, be remanded in Kirikiri Prison.

The Chief Magistrate, P.E. Nwaka, did not take the plea of the defendants.

Nwaka ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. He adjourned the case until June 13 for mention.

Shittu, a mechanic, lives at No. 26, Oluyeye St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, while Animashaun lives at No.7, Osundeyi St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.


The Prosecution, Insp. Christopher John, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on April 26, at Osundeyi St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos.

John said that the defendants and others, at large, conspired and unlawfully gang-raped a 21-year-old woman.

Court restrains EFCC, ICPC, DSS from probing Saraki

The Federal High Court in Abuja has restrained the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other agencies involved in the probe of Senate President Bukola Saraki over corruption allegations.

Saraki on Friday filed two separate fundamental rights enforcement suits before the court to challenge the decision of the EFCC to seize his houses.

Ruling on an ex parte application filed along with the substantive suit by Saraki, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, on Tuesday ordered the anti-corruption body and the other five respondents to the suit to stay action on the probe pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed by the applicant.

The judge made the order after hearing Saraki’s lawyer Sunday Onubi, who moved the application.


The six respondents to the suit affected by the restraining order are the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN),  Department of State Services,  Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Adamu,  EFCC,  Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission and  Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Meghan Markle sends touching apology to former classmates for missing 20-year high school reunion

Meghan Markle has sent a touching apology to her former classmates for missing their 20-year high school reunion which held the day before she gave birth to her son Archie.

Markle sent an envelope marked 'Kensington Palace' to the reunion of the class of 1999 of her all-girls Catholic school in Los Angeles, apologizing for not being there.

The reunion was attended by a total of 37 women who graduated Immaculate Heart High School in 1999, out of a class of more than 50.

The Duchess of Sussex's school friends were buzzing about the imminent arrival of the latest royal baby and delighted to get Meghan's letter, which arrived on Kensington Palace stationery.

'Everyone was disappointed that they did not get to catch up with Meghan given everything that has happened to her,' said one former friend.

'But the whole group was super excited about her giving birth to the first British-American prince, it was all anyone talked about.

'They were so excited to get that letter from her. She is remembered as someone who is very thoughtful, and to get that kind of attention now that she is a Royal went down really well.

'Hopefully she will be able to make it to the 25 year reunion and she is welcome to bring Harry and Archie along with her.'

APGA removes Obiano, Bianca Ojukwu as BoT chairman, member

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has removed Governor Willie Obiano as its Board of Trustees Chairman (BoT) and the wife of late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Bianca as member and others.

The decisions were taken on Tuesday in Awka during the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which followed the expiration of the four year term of the members of the BoT.

Meanwhile, the party had picked May 31 as for it’s National convention at the Prof Dora Akunyili Women Development Center in Awka, Anambra State.

New BoT members were to be nominated ahead of its National Convention for ratification, as read out by the National Secretary of APGA, Labaran Maku.
