JLS star Oritse Williams' r*pe accuser 'drank shots with him and sat on his lap'

A woman who claims she was r-ped by JLS star Oritse Williams could be seen sitting on his lap and kissing a female pal as they drank shots in a nightclub, a court heard.

The court saw the pop star was filmed on CCTV slapping the 20-year-old fan's bottom as they danced together in a VIP area hours before she was allegedly attacked.

The 32-year-old singer is accused of r-ping the woman after buying her alcohol and inviting her back to his hotel room in the early hours of December 2, 2016.

Williams has gone on trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court alongside his tour manager Jamien Nagadhana, 32 – who is also standing trial for s-xual assault.


Today (Wednesday) the jury were shown CCTV footage taken from inside Gorgeous nightclub, in Wolverhampton, where William's had just performed a solo gig.

It showed the alleged victim and her friends clinking glasses as they drank shots with the singer and danced together.
At one point Williams tries to join in as the complainant is kissing her friend before the pop star slaps her on the bottom.

The woman and her friend then leave the nightclub in a taxi back to the city's Ramada Hotel, where the alleged attack took place.

Williams, who was on The X Factor in 2008, is accused of r-ping the woman after she went back to his hotel room to fetch her phone.

Prince William launches new mental health campaign at Wembley Stadium

Prince William, the President of the Football Association (FA), attended the launch of mental health campaign 'Heads Up' at Wembley Stadium today.

The new initiative will harness the power of football to get more people – particularly men – to feel comfortable talking about their mental health, and feel able to support their friends and families through difficult times.

It also supports the important work which is already taking place across the UK to end the stigma surrounding mental health.


At Wembley, the Duke joined a discussion with grassroots football players, coaches and fans from clubs across the country, before delivering a speech to launch the new campaign

He said: "Just like physical health we all have mental health. Every one of us will face setbacks in our lives. And every one of us will face challenges with our mental health as a result.

"The consequences of this silence – confusion, stigma, and even shame – have reached a crisis point in the UK.

"At its worse, it has led to appalling rates of suicide in this country – the leading cause of death for men under 45."

"Every day, failing to tackle mental health means that we are not reaching our potential at work. When you struggle in silence, you cannot give it your all."

Martin Glenn, FA’s Chief Executive, said: "Mental health remains one of the biggest issues facing men under the age of 45.

"Around 12 million people play football in England each year, with even more watching on, and Heads Up will use the power and popularity of football to drive awareness and change.

"In football and in life we’re constantly talking about physical fitness – but mental fitness is even more important."

Dubai police add Maserati to crime-fighting fleet

Police in Dubai have unveiled the latest supercar to join their crime-fighting fleet - a Maserati GranTurismo.

The £82,000 high-speed car will serve the force in the oil-rich city alongside a Lamborghini Aventador, a Ferrari FF, and Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

Dubai Police have perhaps the most expensive selection of vehicles worldwide for a police force.

In November they said they were training in the use of flying motorbikes which could be deployed to the streets as soon as 2020 and travel up to 60mph.


The chief of Dubai Police, Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, has proudly showed off the latest addition to the police force.

The GranTurismo has a 4.7-litre, 460-hp V8 engine and was bought for police from Al Tayer Motors, the official dealer of Maserati in the United Arab Emirates.

Maj. Gen Al Marri said using sports cars as patrol vehicles is part of the Dubai Police's strategy of bolstering security presence in tourist destinations, such as the Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and Jumeirah Beach Residence.

With the addition of GranTurismo, the Dubai Police now have a total of 15 sports cars in its fleet, said Lt. Col Dr Mubarak Saeed Benawas Al Kutbi, director of the tourist police department.

Lt. Col Al Kutbi said the sports coupe would be stationed in different tourist spots and landmark areas across the emirate.

Dubai Police unveiled their first supercar back in 2013 - the Lamborghini Aventador and it was soon pictured in the livery of the force.

Tech giants promise clampdown on extremism

Tech giants including Google, Facebook and Twitter have promised a clampdown on extremism following a meeting with world leaders - but failed to say how or when the measures would be implemented.

Amazon and Microsoft were also among those who agreed on a nine-point plan of action after the meeting in Paris, named the Christchurch Call to Action.

The meeting, hosted by French president Emmanuel Macron and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, was in response to the terror attack on mosques in Christchurch in March, in which 51 people were killed in an atrocity livestreamed on Facebook.


In a joint statement, the tech companies said they would each take individual steps to improve their policies on violent content, as well as increase collaboration in order to fight the spread of such content.

But the text, which is not legally binding, did not outline any concrete steps that would be taken by individual firms, nor set any timeframe for putting any new measures in place.

Hours before the meeting today, Facebook announced it would ban users from livestreaming for 30 days if they break the site's rules.

Ikpeazu dissolves cabinet, retains six commissioners

Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia has dissolved the state executive council. Mr Enyinnaya Appolos, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, in a statement, said that six out of the 27 commissioners were not affected by the dissolution.

He listed them as: Chief Eziuche Ubani, Commissioner for Works; Chief John Okiyi-Kalu, Commissioner for Information, and Dr Aham Uko, Commissioner for Environment.
Others are Mr Obinna Oriaku, Commissioner for Finance, Dr John Ahukannah, Commissioner for Health and Chief Umeh Kalu, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

He said that the state government sincerely appreciated the members of the dissolved executive council for their service to the state.

The outgoing commissioners were directed to hand over state government property in their possession to the permanent secretaries of their various ministries.

Full statement announcing President Buhari’s departure to Saudi Arabia tomorrow

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to jet out of the country on Thursday, 16th May 2019 for Umrah.

This was revealed in a statement by the media aide to the President, Shehu Garba. The visit is at the instance of Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the ruler of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to perform the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) in the Kingdom.

The President is expected back in the country on the 21st of May 2019.

The statement reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the ruler of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to perform the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) in the Kingdom.


“To this effect, the President, accompanied by close personal aides, will embark on the journey on Thursday, 16th May.

“He is expected back in the country on Tuesday, 21st May.

Umrah is an optional but recommended pilgrimage to Makkah that can be made at any time of the year.”

Two church members electrocuted during service

Inhabitants of Egbeda village near Osogbo have been thrown into mourning following the electrocution of two members of a Celestial Church of Christ in the village.

The incident happened on Sunday while a service was ongoing in the church. A source explained that four people were affected, adding that while two died, two survived.

It was learnt that the deceased, Yinka Adeniyi and Busayo Akande, were holding microphones when they were electrocuted.

The remains of the victims had been deposited in the hospital morgue.

Jeremy Kyle Show axed forever by ITV after Steve Dymond death

The Jeremy Kyle Show has been cancelled permanently, ITV has confirmed.

The controversial show was pulled from air following the suspected suicide of guest Steve Dymond, and today the channel announced it will not be returning.

Carolyn McCall, ITV’s CEO, said: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.


“Everyone at ITV's thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.”

"The previously announced review of the episode of the show is underway and will continue.

"ITV will continue to work with Jeremy Kyle on other projects."

This week has seen the series - which started in 2005 - face accusations of poor aftercare, dubious casting techniques and 'bear-baiting' of vulnerable guests.

Steve, 62, - who suffered from depression - was reportedly lured by the promise of a free lie detector test that he hoped would prove he hadn't cheated on on-off fiancée Jane Callaghan.

But it backfired when he failed, allegedly prompting host Jeremy to 'rip in to him' and Jane to end things for good.

"He had gone on the show solely to clear his name but he said it had gone wrong because of the lie detector test," his son Carl Woolley, 39, said.

Just over a week later he was found dead in his rented bedroom surrounded by letters written to loved ones.

He had been dead for some days.

According to his landlady Shelly, 55, who made the grim discovery, he was 'sobbing and distraught' when he returned from filming on May 2.

Premium Times have now made a quick check with EFCC onwhy the singer was not granted administrative bail like others, and here's what the commision's spokesman, Tony Orilade said.

“There is overwhelming evidence against Naira Marley; so we can’t afford to release him on administrative bail like Zlatan and the three others.

“That Zlatan has been released does not mean they have been discharged and acquitted. Naira Marley is still in our custody and will be charged to court soon and we will make the charges known in an official statement soon.”

Thor actor who made headlines for 'choking' Paris Jackson commits suicide

'Thor' and 'Terminator: Salvation' actor Isaac Kappy has been confirmed as the man who jumped to his death from a bridge in Arizona on Monday, according to TMZ.

Officials confirmed on Tuesday that Kappy, 42, was struck by a Ford pickup truck after hurling himself from the Transwestern Road bridge onto Interstate 40, where he died, according a statement from Bart Graves, a spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

In the 24 hours leading up to his death, Kappy posted a long statement on Instagram where he wrote, 'I have not been a good guy,' and 'I have been abusive to people who loved me.'

The self-admitted drug user made headlines in 2018 for allegedly assaulting Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris, by choking her 'during a game night party.'


The native Angeleno has also publicly accused Seth Green of being a pedophile.

Last night, singer Zlatan and others were released from EFCC’s custody and the entertainment scene has been agog ever since. Shortly after the release, news went round that Davido helped Zlatan and others secure their release by hiring lawyers for them. Zlatan’s ally, Aremo Gucci however felt offended with this and decided to react. While reacting Aremo Gucci says Davido was never part of the people that helped Zlatab out. In a video, he said, only Oladmide and Burna Boy helped.

China blocks Wikipedia in all languages

Wikipedia has been blocked in mainland China since April, according to a press report which cites a statement from the Wikimedia foundation.

The BBC said Wednesday that all languages of the online encyclopedia were now unavailable to Chinese-based internet users. Beijing officials had already banned the Chinese language version of the site.

In a statement, published by the U.K. broadcaster, the foundation said: "In late April, the Wikimedia Foundation determined that Wikipedia was no longer accessible in China. After closely analyzing our internal traffic reports, we can confirm that Wikipedia is currently blocked across all language versions."


Thousands of websites cannot be accessed in China, with many often taken offline temporarily during the anniversaries of political events such as the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 when authorities killed thousands of student activists.

A Kano State high court Wednesday declared the appointment and the installation of four new emirs by the Kano State government as null and void.

It ordered a return to status quo pending the hearing of the suit against the appointment of the emirs.

The emirs were installed by the Governor Umaru Ganduje at the weekend following the balkanisation of the century-old emirate by the Kano state government that followed an unusually fast passage of a bill by the Kano State House of Assembly, The Guardian reports.
