Disregard IPOB’s Sit-At-Home Order, Police Tell Public
The Police command disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday. They added that IPOB remains proscribed and all its activities remain illegal.
“Information at the disposal of the Anambra State Police Command has revealed that the outlawed group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are perfecting plans through public announcement and threats in Nnewi and other parts of the State in order to enforce a “SIT AT HOME ORDER” warning people to stay at home and not to come out for any business activities on the 30/5/2019.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is still a proscribed organisation hence all its activities remains illegal,” the spokesperson of the command, Haruna Mohammed said.

Kardashians reunites in wax form for rare Madame Tussauds display
Madame Tussauds unveiled a brand new display of reality TV's royal family and for the first time placed wax figures of the whole group together.
Momager Kris Jenner is joined in the display by her bevvy of daughters Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner.
Kris and Kourtney got brand new wax figures earlier this month at the famed establishment's Time's Square location.
The new display featuring the whole group marks the first time that Madame Tussauds has gotten all six of the women together.

The Army chief pointed out that the military had strong evidence against the politicians sponsoring banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminal acts.
He gave this assertion while hosting members of the 10-man Committee on Army of the House of Representatives, who were in Maiduguri on a two-day oversight function.
He said, “There are myriads of security challenges we are facing right now in the North-West, North-Central and other parts of the country. I want to believe, and rightly so, that with the fallout of the just-concluded general elections, there are politicians who saw their defeat as a means of revenge, sponsoring these criminal activities and even banditry and clashes between the farmers and herders.
“We use this opportunity to call on members of the House of Representatives to prevail on some of these politicians, to really look at national interest first before any political or sectional interest. We have some strong evidence but we are still being conscious so that we don’t get it wrong but the best is to advise these politicians.”
He urged politicians to desist from any activities that would inflict pains on civilians, warning that all criminals would be dealt with in accordance with the law of the land.
He assured his guests that the Army would continue to pursue terrorists until they were finally exterminated from the nation.

Andy Brennan becomes first male Australian footballer to come out as gay
In a lengthy post published on the Professional Footballers Australia's (PFA) website Tuesday, 26-year-old former A-league player Andy Brennan said he had thought about coming out for years.
"I can finally come out and say it," he wrote. "I'm gay."
Brennan signed with the A-league's Newcastle Jets for two seasons in 2015. He now plays for lower league Melbourne club Green Gully Cavaliers.
The PFA confirmed to CNN that Brennan is the first professional male footballer to publicly come out. CNN has reached out to Brennan for comment.
"Being gay, in sport, and in the closet, it has been a mental burden of not knowing how those around you will react. It was a perceived pressure that consumed me," Brennan wrote in the Tuesday post.
"In fact, I've only become comfortable with it in the last year, which means for the best part of the last decade -- most of my adult life -- I've been pretty unsure of myself. In all honesty, that's been pretty tough."
Brennan said his teammates and coaches "were and are truly amazing. The overwhelming response has been one of huge support and happiness."
He added: "I think it's really important that they see that there's someone else who has come out, that there are many other people who are the same, and that it is OK. It is fine to be in a sporting environment and play, and people will accept you

Buhari’s victory has demystified Obasanjo – Oba of Lagos
Akiolu made the statement when participants of the Senior Executive Course 41 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, visited him in his palace in Lagos. .
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the visitors who were on study tour of the state were led by Dr Nasirudeen Usman, NIPSS Acting Director of Studies .
Akiolu said the president got his second term mandate from God through the people of Nigeria.
He said the claim by former President Olusegun Obasanjo prior to the election that Buhari would not win the election because he did not support him had been neutralised by the president’s triumph.
Akiolu said Obasanjo had always arrogated to himself the divine power to determine the country’s leaders, adding that Buhari’s victory in the last election has demystified him.
Akiolu said he had always believed Buhari would win the election and that he was glad that the former president had been proved wrong at the end of the day.
”I had said that Buhari would win even before the election, unfortunately ,the number one person creating problems in this country is former president Obasanjo.
”He arrogated to himself the powers of the Almighty Allah by saying it was the support he gave to Buhari that made him win the first term.

How I was drugged, gang-raped in Lekki hotel, woman tells court
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the woman, the first prosecution witness, testified in the trial of two dropouts of Babcock University – Don-Chima George, 25, and Olusegun Rasak, 28, charged with rape.
Led in evidence by Dr Jide Martins, Director of Public Prosecutions, Lagos State, the witness told the court that she was invited to Kabaal Nightclub situated at Ikoyi, Lagos, by George who was her friend.
The alleged r-pe victim who testified for one and half hours said: “Initially, I did not want to go, I was hesitant, I told Chima but he insisted I come. He also said that his birthday was a few days away and he was to celebrate it.
“I agreed. That was not the first time we had gone out together as friends so there was nothing out of the ordinary. He asked me to meet him at the De-Lankaster Hotel. We were supposed to leave from there to the club.
“I got there because I knew where it was. Segun Razak was there in Chima’s room already; I waited a few minutes for everyone to get ready, and we left the hotel to go to the club.
“We got there, nothing out of the ordinary happened; while at the club, at about 4a.m., I told Chima I was tired and wanted to go home.”
She told the court that George gave her a glass of Hennessey and Coca cola to drink, saying that the drink was the only one she had at the club before she dropped off George at the De-Lankaster Hotel.
“I drove and Chima was in the car with me, and I had to drop him at the hotel. Segun Razak drove his car and had his friends in his car. We made a few stops at Automated Teller Machines to get some money for the Lekki Toll Gate.
“From there, we proceeded to the hotel, when we got there, I proceeded to say hello to the other occupants of Segun’s car.
“When I went into the reception area, I found a mutual friend of ours called Foluso; he was pretty drunk. Being the person that I am, I decided not to let him stay in the reception area. I helped him and took him up to Chima’s room.
“I knocked on the door and I did not hear anyone answer, but I opened the door because the door was already open because the door was bad.
“I got my friend inside the room and put him on the bed. After I got him on the bed, I kept talking to him to make sure that he was okay.
“While he was lying down, I was watching a movie on my phone and from that moment, I do not recollect anything because I passed out, which was out of the ordinary because I usually remember when I fall asleep,” she said.
At this point, the witness broke down in tears, narrating how, in her subconscious state, she was allegedly gang-raped by George and Razak.
She said: “My next recollection after passing out was being in a state that I wasn’t in ordinarily. I felt drunk but I knew I wasn’t because I did not drink enough to make me drunk.
“I felt weak and I could feel hands grabbing me and I could also hear a voice in the room which I knew to be Chima’s voice and I felt Segun on top of me having sex with me.
“I felt his (Segun) dreadlocks on my body because he had dreadlocks. I remember trying to push him off as he was touching me. He was touching my breasts and I could feel another pair of hands on my thighs.
“I blacked out and came up again a second time and I could feel somebody fingering me. I knew I heard Chima’s voice and I couldn’t recall what he was saying, and I felt myself being penetrated again. I tried my best to say no.
“I believe it was Chima who penetrated me again. I believe it was Chima because I heard him asking if I was awake after all of that; I blacked out again, and at that point, I knew both of them had had sex with me.
“I was in a state where I was not conscious but I had a sense that I could hear them. I woke up around 7a.m. When I woke up, I was confused and I was trying to recall what happened.
“I did not consent to the penetration, I am 100 percent sure I am not in a relationship with both of them.”
The witness said that when she woke up, she confronted George who denied any form of sexual relations between them.
“I could feel my vagina sore; I knew that a sexual act had happened. When I woke up, Chima was in the room with me; he was sitting in a chair opposite the bed. He was on his phone.
“I asked, `Chima what happened last night?’ He said, `Nothing’. By this time, Segun Razak was not present in the room. I asked the second time, and he said, `Nothing’. I asked him straight, `Did we have sex last night?’
“He said, ‘No’ and I told him: `If we didn’t, why is my underwear (pant) not on?’ He did not say anything. I started looking for my underwear.
“I was thinking that this is my friend, he would not do that to me. I finally found my underwear under the duvet, I grabbed it, grabbed my wig and car keys and went downstairs,” she said.
The witness said that she left the hotel in tears, shock and confusion, and did not want to go home in her traumatised state.
The witness told the court that she informed her trusted friend called Musa and his girlfriend, Seyi, about the alleged incident.
“Musa was angry, he asked me where the hotel was. At first, I did not want to tell him, I just wanted to go home and forget it ever happened but he told me I cannot let them get away with it.
“He informed his older sister, Bisoye, and they all rallied and went to the hotel. They went with a police escort to the hotel. When we got there, I stayed inside the car and they went to get them inside the hotel.
“Musa’s car was tinted so they did not know I was in the car, they brought them out so I could see them but they could not see me.
“I could hear them being questioned. They did not verbalise that they did it but I could tell from their body language that they knew they were caught.
“When these were going on, people started coming outside,” she said.
The woman told the court that she went to Maroko Police Station where Musa, Bisoye and she made statements, adding that on Feb. 5, the case was reported to the Gender Unit of the state police command.
She said that she went to the Amethyst Hospital, Lekki, and the Mirabel Center, for medical examination.
The woman testified that her friends who reported the alleged crime were victimised by the families of the defendants.
“They asked me to drop the case but even after asking me to drop the case, they went ahead to arrest my friend.
“I felt betrayed most especially by Chima. You were supposed to be my friend. I have no personal relationship with Segun Razak, I only know him as Chima’s friend.
“I have never been to Segun’s house; I have never met his parents or his other family members. I knew Chima as a friend, I have met his dad, I remember his father telling me how he thought I was a good influence on him.
“For all these to happen, I feel hurt, I feel betrayed,” she said.
NAN reports that the defendants are alleged by the police to have committed the offences on Feb. 3, from 5.00a.m. to 7.00a.m. at De-Lankaster Hotels, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
While at a nightclub, the defendants allegedly mixed the complainant’s drink with a substance that rendered her unconscious.
The police alleged that the defendants took turns to rape the woman in the hotel and videotaped the sexual offence.
According to the prosecution, the offences contravene Sections 258 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Justice Abiola Soladoye adjourned the case until June 13 for continuation of trial.

Shocking photos of paraplegic dad left for dead after being stabbed 11 times
Neil Pearce, 37, was repeatedly knifed in the body, neck and head until the blade broke by drunk thug Jake Bartholomew-Mann, 25, in a "sustained and vicious attack".
He then launched Neil off his wheelchair and began kicking him over and over again before casually walking away from the scene.
Neil was rushed to Northern General Hospital where he underwent an emergency life-saving operation.
He then had reconstructive surgery which involved screwing six metal plates into his facial bones.
Neil, who lost the use of his legs in a 1996 car crash, spent the next two weeks in intensive care fighting for his life and is lucky to be alive.
Sickening photos show Neil battered and bloodied following the brutal attack on New Year's Day at around 11pm while he was at home with his partner and 12-week old baby.
Neil, who describes Bartholomew-Mann as a "friend of a friend", says he has "no idea" why he carried out the savage attack.
Bartholomew-Mann was sentenced to 12 years behind bars earlier this month after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm at Sheffield Crown Court.
Neil said he had known Bartholomew-Mann for about seven years and had met him "many times" before the attack was carried out.

Ganduje gives N6m to drug trafficking victims Zainab
Ganduje announced the donation when Federal Government delegation officially presented Zainab Aliyu and Ibrahim Abubakar, to the governor at the Government House, Kano.
Ganduje said that Aliyu, who traveled for Lesser Hajj with her mother was arrested by Saudi Security Officials in December 2018, in a hotel in Madinah,” he said.
The governor said that the girl was accused of possessing a bag containing illicit drugs purportedly bearing a tag with her name.
He added that another passenger, Ibrahim Abubakar, unrelated to Aliyu, who also traveled on the same aircraft, was also arrested on the same day.
The governor, who announced the donation of N3 million gift to each of them commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the timely intervention to save the lives of the two victims.

Suspected ritualists slaughter 5-year-old girl in Kebbi
Mallam Sani Rikoto, a resident of the village who narrated the incident to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, said the girl was asleep outside their compound with her parents and grandmother, when she was abducted and killed.
According to Rikoto, the grandmother woke up from sleep and raised the alarm the moment she noticed that the girl was missing.
“When the suspects heard the grandmother shouting the girl’s name repeatedly they dropped her and ran away, but they had already killed her,” he said.
He added that a team from the community launched an immediate search of the locality to apprehend the killers, but without success.
It was learnt that though the incident occurred about two weeks ago, till now, neither the police nor the villagers were able to trace the killers.
The Public Relations Officer in Kebbi, DSP Nafiu Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, said that investigation was ongoing on the matter.

US acquires 1,000 hectares of land in Eko Atlantic City
Bray made the disclosure at his residence shortly after signing the engagement agreementon between the U.S. government officials and Mr Roland Chagdury, the Executive Chairman of South EnergyX Nigeria.
The Consul General said the decision to build a new Consulate in the Eko Atlantic City was to afford Nigerians better and more accessible services at the Consulate General.
“This is another demonstration that the United States is committed to Nigeria and her citizens. What we currently have as a Consulate General was constructed in the ‘70s.
“So, we have acquired a land in Eko Atlantic City to build a new consulate better and more accessible to Nigerians and others coming to visit for visas and other services,’’ he said.

Operation show your Driver’s Licence’ begins in Lagos on monday
The State Sector Commander, Mr Hyginus Omeje, made this known in a statement on Wednesday, signed by the Sector’s Head of Public Education, Superintendent Route Commander (SRC) Florence Edor.
Omeje said that the two-week special patrol was aimed at reducing the high incidents of motorists driving without valid driver’s licence in the state, as most motorists who apply for licence never care to go back to the licensing offices to collect their permanent licence.
“We are starting our patrol operation by May 20, as we have 64,468 uncollected permanent driver’s licence across the state,” he said.
The sector commander expressed dissatisfaction over the attitude of some motorists driving without valid licence.
According to him, it is the only legal document that permits anyone to drive on Nigerian roads.
He said that if a defaulter could not produce his licence within 24 hours, he is liable to a fine.
