Beyoncé & Meghan Markle finally meets in person as she gives Meghan advise on parenting (phtoos)

Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z offered the Duke and Duchess of Sussex parenting advice yesterday evening, as they attended the glittering European premiere of The Lion King.

Meghan, 37, attended the star studded event in London's Leicester Square with husband Prince Harry, 34, and was seen embracing Beyoncé, who declared her love for the royal couple before telling the Duchess of Sussex her new baby son Archie was 'so beautiful'.

It's believed to be the first time the two women have met in person, but Beyoncé is known to be a fan of the royal, and paid tribute to her on her website during Black History Month.

Harry and Meghan, who watch the live-action remake of the classic 1990s film yesterday evening, received parenting advice from Beyoncé and Jay-Z, with the couple telling the new parents to 'always find time for themselves.'

Despite being on maternity leave, it is the second appearance the former Suits actress has made this weekend, after she watched close friend Serena Williams play in the Wimbledon final alongside sister-in-law Kate Middleton, 37, on saturday. It followed a tumultuous week for the Duchess after criticism of her privacy demands.

Eedris Abdulkareem loses 96-year old mother

Eedris Abdulkareem has lost his mom, Alhaja Safurat Ajoke Ajenifuja. She passed away on Friday, 12th of July, 2019 at the age of 96. Pained Eedris has now paid his mom a tribute explaining how wonderful she was as a mom and to others. His tribute…

"One of the most indelible marks of attachment and bond between me and my mother happened while I was very young! We had a neighbour in whose house we used to watch television, which was a rare sight those days in my neighbourhood!

One fateful day, the owners of the house  chastised me in strong words, telling me to go home and tell my father to buy a television set: I ran home feeling humiliated and abused. After a while, I ask my mother about my father whom I didn't know, my mum burst out crying in The course of explaining this to me. I felt that I have caused my mother some untold pains and involuntarily joined her in crying!"

My mother, confidante, role model and prayer warrior, Alhaja Safurat Ajoke Ajenifuja has joined the saints.

A virtuous, prayerful, compassionate and caring Mother, a mother of all Seasons and a mother of all is gone. Alhaja transitioned into glory on Friday, July 12, 2019 at exactly 10:35 pm, aged 96.

An Abeokuta, Ogun State born and bred Amazon who teamed with the legendary Fumnilayo Anikulapo Kuti in the struggles and sexiest tax regimes of the day that necessitated the abdication of the Egba Throne by the then Oba Adewole the 2nd in 1949, Alhaja was a collosus in the areas of human rights activism and the fight for the betterment of the society!

A philanthropist of no mean repute who spent most of her life in the ancient city of Kano where she became a caring Mother to so many indigent children!

My mother who vehemently refused to be cowed by the vagaries and vicissitudes of life, having lost eight (8) out of her ten (10) biological sons, trudged on despite all in order to make me the man I am today.

She taught humility without foolishness, truthfulness without fear or favour, charitable and communal living devoid of aloofness and self adulation, unfettered love of All human kind irrespective of religious, tribal and political leanings.

My mother was a woman amongst women! She was my Pathfinder, strength and solace in the times of trouble.

When it became difficult at a point for me to continue my education, Alhaja resorted to selling pepper soup so as to aid my education; I started Soaring early enough because of her support and training.

People talk about my Fearlessness and activism without knowing that most of these attributes are in born, I practically inherited most of my legendary steadfastness from my dependable and incorruptible Mother, who was the also the most prayerful person I have ever met my life.

Alhaja, an Egba thoroughbred from Abeokuta, Ogun State, was buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday at Atan Cemetery, Akoka, Lagos State, amidst family, friends, well wishers and the clergy amongst others.

As we give thanks and Praises for a worthy life well lived to the Glory of God, I want to use this opportunity to thank and appreciate the numerous family and friends who trooped out to give my mother and rock, Alhaja Ajenifuja a worthy farewell!

May Allah reward you all with unalloyed love and guidance for standing with me and my family in this trying times.

More information to be released later!

May Alhaja Safurat Ajoke Ajenifuja's love filled soul Rest in Perfect Peace at the Bossom of the Lord...Amen

30 bus passengers kidnapped

About 30 bus passengers were abducted by Cameroon’s armed separatists on Friday along Fundong-Bamenda highway in the Northwest.

The area is one of the two war-torn English-speaking regions of Cameroon.

“Three transport buses left Fundong for Bamenda and were stopped at Belo by armed separatists,” Samuel Nkwain, a driver who witnessed the incident, told Xinhua.

“All passengers were ordered to step down and hand over their identification cards. They were then taken to the bush to an unknown destination. They are still with them right now,” said Nkwain.

Locals interviewed by Xinhua said the abduction followed in-fighting between armed groups in the area.

“The other group was angry that another group collected their weapons and refused to hand over to them, so they say they are holding the passengers hostage until the weapons are handed over to them,” a local resident, who asked not to be named, told Xinhua.

Movement along the highway has been halted and the search for the hostages has been launched, according to local authorities.

Fani Kayode releases statement on 'Fatoyinbo/Dakolo rape', says I stand with the pastor

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has released a statement saying he stands with the embattled Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo until he is proven guilty in the midst of two weighty rape allegations against him. Fani who says himself and family are full members of COZA released a statement to that effect. His statement…

ACCUSER OF THE BRETHEREN

Permit me to begin by saying that my heart goes out to Mr. Timi Dakolo, a very pleasant and respectful young man who I first met at President Goodluck Jonathan’s house two years ago.
We interacted again two weeks ago when we spoke briefly on the phone after the news about the horrendous travails that his beautiful wife Busola was allegedly subjected to by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) 19 years earlier first broke.

I commend his enormous courage and for standing by his wife at this difficult time.
Last week Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) said the following.

“Once a woman accuses you of something, no matter how irrational it is, nobody will listen to you”.
Pastor Adeboye may well be right but the question is whether this is a satisfactory state of affairs and whether it is just, fair and proper? Should this be the case in any civilised society? Should it be the case in the Church?

Does this “lynch-mob mentality” not demean and destroy the very fabric of our society and the very foundation of our existence?

Does it not undermine the utility, credibility and power of the Church? Should we not outrightly condemn it and seek to change it rather than espouse and accept it as a given?

Must a man, or indeed a Pastor, live in perpetual fear of the damning and implicative words of an ‘accuser of the bretheren’ and grave allegations that may well have no basis in rationality or truth?
Does veracity no longer have a place in the land of the living or in the Church? Is the essence and central message of our Christian faith not to show love and to be just and fair to all?

Are we, as Christians, not meant to love even the unlovable? Are we not meant to NEVER judge a matter or condemn a man or a woman without first perusing, exploring, establishing and ascertaining all the relevant facts?

As the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa once said,

“Why is the Body of Christ the only army that shoots it’s wounded? Our job is to restore and heal one another”.

I go a step further by asking, why are believers always so ready to assume the worst about other believers and crucify them at the drop of a hat?

Why are we always so eager to join hands with unbelievers to defame and destroy our own?
Sometime last year a strange woman falsely accused Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries of illicit and sallacious sexual liasons ahd encounters and many Nigerians assumed that she spoke the truth until the man of God fought back and proved that she was a fraud.

The Jezebel that accused him was eventually put to shame. She even came back to the Church a few months later with her mother and confessed that she had lied on the man of God and that she had been paid to set him up and implicate him.

Just two weeks ago in the wake of the Dakolo/Fatoyinbo storm, another strange woman suddenly crawled out of the sewer and falsely accused Prophet T.B. Joshua of SCOAN of raping her as a child and abducting and kidnapping her for 14 years.

Thankfully in a matter of days SCOAN rose to the occassion, killed the lie, exposed the liar and proved that she was a mentally unstable and worthless creature from the pit of hell.

If the Lord had not been with these two men their respective ministries, reputations and Churches would have been utterly decimated.

The moral of the tale is as follows: never be too quick to judge simply because the accuser is a woman. She could be a legitimate victim of wrongdoing and an angel that has spoken nothing but the truth but on the other hand she could be a lying demon in human flesh and a daughter of the devil that is out to destroy: only God knows the truth.

I do not under any circumstances support or condone rape and I think that it is a beastly, barbaric, cruel and savage act. Every victim of rape deserves nothing but love, sympathy, support and encouragement and every rapist ought to be brought to justice.

There is nothing worse than a Pastor that rapes because he is in a position of immense trust and he has abused the power and influence that he has been given over others.

However before we pass judgement and hang the “offender” we must establish the truth and the facts. As far as I am concerned this has not been done in the case of Dakolo and Fatoyinbo and it may only ever be done if and when the matter goes to court.

Sadly with all that has been said in the media about Fatoyinbo over the last three weeks by some notable leaders and elders of the Body of Christ I am convinced that many in the Nigerian Church would have joined the leaders of Ancient Egypt to condemn and jail the biblical Joseph after he was falsely accused of raping Potipher’s wife.

Must our reactions to grave, complex, sallacious and unproven allegations always be emotional? Is there not a presumption of innocence under every decent and civilised moral code and indeed under our constitution?

Are we not all entitled to a fair hearing before being condemned in the court of public opinion? Must we always believe the worst about our own even when there is no tangible evidence to prove the allegation other than the uncorroborated evidence of the so-called victim?

I was particularly disturbed by two interventions that were made by two great writers who I have immense respect for. Both of them fired hard shots and delivered powerful body blows to both Biodun and the Body of Christ last week.

The first salvo came from Dr. Reuben Abati, the former Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Guardian Newspaper and the former spokesman to President Goodluck Jonathan. In his tuesday column in Thisday newspaper he went as far as to assert that there was no such thing as “the annointing” anymore and openly denigrated the Pentecostal Church and Pentecostal Pastors.
All that simply because of the unproven and uncorroborated allegations made by Dakolo against Fatoyinbo.

The second salvo came from Mr. Yemi Adebowale, the editor of Saturday Thisday Newspaper who, in his column, said that members of COZA Church must be under some sort of spell for defending and standing by their Pastor.

I am a great admirer of both Abati and Adebowale and most of the time I agree with them on all that they write.

However on this matter I do not share their views. I am a proud member of the Evangelical movement and the Pentecostal Church and I do not think it is right and proper to attempt to undermine the credibility of either simply because of an unproven allegation that has been made by Dakolo.

Even if proven, the criminal actions of a single rogue Pastor surely cannot be enough to legitimately indict or raise questions about the credibility, efficacy, legitimacy and power of the entire Pentecostal Church and Evangelical movement.

It is Fatoyinbo that is, so to speak, on trial here and not the Pentecostal Church. Secondly the assertion that there is no such thing as the annointing in the Pentecostal Church anymore is not only offensive but it is also simply not true.

Not only is the annointing alive and well in the Church of Christ but it also still doing wonders, still breaking yokes, still setting the captives free and still bringing joy, peace, blessings, hope, strength, victories and deliverance to millions.

Again the assertion that COZA members are under a spell is insulting. I worship at COZA from time to time, my dear wife Precious is a full-time member and my son Aragorn was dedicated to the Lord in that Church three years ago.

None of us are under any spell. And neither would it be right and proper for us to turn our backs on Fatoyinbo without any solid proof of his wrongdoing other than the blanket allegations of his many accusers.

I have been the victim of unsubstantiated, vicious, scurrilious, pernicious and sallacious allegations on numerous occassions over the last 30 years and I know what it is like to be falsely accused.

If my loved ones had turned their backs on me and not given me the benefit of the doubt on each of those occassions I would have been lost.

The point is that there must be a certain degree of loyalty displayed by members of the congregation to their Church and Pastors.

If that were not the case the easiest thing in the world to do would be to destroy Churches and scatter the sheep simply by making baseless allegations against the Pastor and the shepherd.
It is Fatoyinbo today but it could be ANYONE else tomorrow.

No-one is too big to be accused and no-one is too big to fall. We must be ready to stand by our own unless and until hard evidence of wrongdoing is provided.

If and when the Pastor’s guilt is proved, admitted or established then it becomes a different matter entirely but up until then it is only right and proper for members of his family, congregation and Church to stand by him, show him love and continue to pray for him.

Even when we suspect that a man of God has erred we must always remember that our Lord Jesus Christ saved Peter from drowning in the Sea of Galilee BEFORE publicly rebuking him.
We must save him from drowning first and then we are free to rebuke him publicly. A real father does not first publicly rebuke and then save his son: he must first save his son and then publicly rebuke him.

Sensible and timely was the intervention made by CAN. In a statement signed by the Acting General Secretary of CAN Joseph Bade Daramola, on 7th July 2019, they said, inter alia, that they frowned on the media attacks on the Body of Christ by columnists and commentators alike that have come as a consequence of this whole saga, that they would not impute guilt on any party until they have heard all the facts and seen the evidence, that they would intervene in the matter in an attempt to settle it amicably and that up until then all parties to the conflict should sheath their swords and stop indulging in a media war.

CAN has put the devil to shame. They have also displayed immense wisdom, decency and restraint. They have refused to convict a man based on allegations that are yet to be proved and facts that are yet to be established or corroborated and they have treated this grave matter with the seriousness and gravitas that it deserves.

They have refused to be flippant, petty, partial and judgemental and they have not allowed themselves to be moved by emotion or driven by the lynch-mob mentality that appears to have afflicted most of those that have made public contributions on this matter. Kudos to them!

That, and not the public crucifixtion of Fatoyinbo or the wholesale denigration of the Pentescostal Church and Evangelical movement is surely the way forward.

To the millions of women that have stood by Mrs. Busola Dakolo and expressed outrage about what she claims to have been subjected to, including the First Lady Mrs. Aisha Buhari and other prominent figures, I say that I appreciate your concern and pain.

No-one will hear such a horrendous story and not be torn apart, including yours truly. However I also implore them to pause and think. Would they be so quick to assume guilt if it had been their father, husband, son or Pastor that was accused of such a terrible thing?

Would they not demand to see proof? Would they not at least wait for that proof to be adduced or provided before condemning the accused?

Apart from that I would urge then to channel the same amount of energy as they are putting into this matter to the case of Miss Leah Sharibu who was abducted by Boko Haram over one and a half years ago and who, as Reno Omokri rightly said “is being raped every day”.

They can also consider the case of Justice Esther Asabe Karatu, the former Acting Chief Judge of Kebbi state who the Governor of Kebbi refused to confirm as Chief Judge simply because she is a Christian and who was physically barred, humiliated and prevented from entering her own court to deliver a judgement just a few days ago.

They can also take up the terrible case of a young 9 year old girl that was raped by her Imam in a mosque a few weeks ago and for which plenty of evidence and corroboration was adduced.

They can also look into the case of Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo’s step-mother who was abducted from her home on the 13th of July even as she was nursing her 11-day old baby! Finally they should consider the case of Mrs. Funke Fasoranti-Olakunrin, the 58 year old daughter of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti and a mother and a grandmother in her own right, who was murdered in cold blood by Fulani herdsmen in the streets of Ore, Ondo state on 12th July 2019.

These helpless female victims of dark and evil men are also worthy of the mass celebrity support, media attention, solidarity marches, protests and demonstrations that are being organised on behalf of Dakolo.

In a these five cases the evidence of evil and wrongdoing abounds and proof of the sheer horror and wickedness that the victims have been subjected to is there for all to see.
In Mrs. Dakolo’s case, other than her own verbal account of events, we are yet to see such evidence. May God guide us.

Founder of African American museum, found dead in car trunk

A 75-year-old Louisiana woman who founded an African American history museum was discovered dead in the trunk of a car, and police said Saturday that investigators were working diligently to find those responsible.

Baton Rouge police Sgt. L’Jean McKneely said investigators were still waiting for a coroner to determine a cause of death for Sadie Roberts-Joseph after her body was found Friday afternoon.

Roberts-Joseph was the founder and curator of the Baton Rouge African American Museum, which she started in 2001. The museum sits on the campus of New St. Luke Baptist Church, where Roberts-Joseph’s brother is pastor.

“Ms. Sadie was a tireless advocate of peace,” the Baton Rouge Police Department posted on its Facebook page, adding: “Our detectives are working diligently to bring the person or persons responsible for this heinous act to justice.” So sad!

Photos: Journalist Eunice Egbobawaye slumps and dies during school’s re-union party in Edo

A journalist Eunice Egbobawaye has died during her old school -- St Maria Goretti re-union party in Edo State.

She was said to have danced and rejoiced at the re-union but suddenly slumped and passed on shortly after.

Dr Uyi Usoro gives account of how she passed on. Just too sad!

“She was said to have been dancing in the school hall then slumped on a chair. Was presumed to be tired but when she did not respond, Doctors were alerted and checked her. No peripheral pulses were palpated.

Mis information about her being an asthmatic made the doctors administer pufffs of salbutamol to her via inhaler. When alerted, (smagoga doctors) we met her lying on the ground outside the hall.

We stopped the inhaler, could only palpate the left temporal pulse and continued anti shock management and CPR. Then rushed her to the nearest private medical centre opposite the school but they had no oxygen. Moved her to Central hospital in the hope of getting full complement of resuscitation facilities viz oxygen, defribillator. Upon arrival at central hospital, she was pronounced BID ( brought in dead). No defribillator. We continued administering CPR on the way to UBTH, in expectation of getting a defribillator. Although a team was at reception to receive her, they confirmed no cardiac activity and also confirmed as bid. Her corpse was then transferred to Stella Obasanjo Hospital and Morgue.

Additional history from relative.

She was a known hypertensive, was ill 3months ago, collapsed after an injection administration and was in a coma for one week. Also had severe headaches two weeks ago and lapsed into unconsciousness for 24hours. Her attending Doctor had advised her to do some comprehensive check up and investigations which she postponed. She had severe headache prior to the opening ceremony of the 60th school anniversary.

Diagnosis: Tentative cause of death is Cardiorespiratory arrest secondary to hemorrhagic stroke/ ruptured aneurysm.

Lessons learnt *Regular medical check ups. *Don’t ignore warning signs, subsequent attacks of  strokes almost always fatal. *Proper ventilation while decorating the hall. *Ambulance for every AGM ceremony. *CPR training. *Medical outreach should not be combined with other activities. *Also food and drinks should be available to avoid hypoglycemic attacks. Please let us do check”

President Buhari sends representative to Dino Melaye’s mother’s burial (photo)

He might have left the President’s party (APC) for the main opposition (PDP) and might not have been on the President’s side since he left, but Melaye couldn’t help but invite the number one man of Nigeria to his mother’s burial which just took place.

Though politically, they are on different grounds, the first man still honoured him by sending a representative and his well meaning letter read to all at the party. Ofcous his bestie, immediate past Senate President, Bukola Saraki was fully there to support him. Infact. Some people came all the way from Ilorin on behalf of the ex-senate president. What are friends for?

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visits Pa Fasoranti on death of daughter (video)

3 arrested for using skull of family member for rituals

Three suspected ritualists have told the police that their native doctor asked them to get the skulls of people they know for rituals.

Sunday Mathew (52), Samuel Olaniyi (65) and Uchenna Olewunne (49) were arrested with a human skull  on July 6, 2019, at Iju, near Ota, Ogun State by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT).

They claimed, during interrogation, that the native doctor told them they must know the  name  of  anyone   whose skulls they would be using, and members of his family, among other information.’’

They paid the native doctor N45,000 which he used to prepare a special concoction with the human head.

Sources said they have given the names of  other members of their syndicate to their interrogators.

It was also gathered that  the suspects on July 9 took detectives to the family of one of the deceased whose body they exhumed.

The deceased was identified by his family as Idowu Jimoh, who died at the age of 19 on November 15, 2018 following a brief illness and was buried behind his family house.

One of the suspects, Samuel Olaniyi, is said to be  related to the family of Idowu Jimoh.

Matthew  who claimed to be a farmer from Ipokia , Ogun State said it was his first time of participating in exhuming human remains for rituals.

The father of three said: “I am living with this man (Olaniyi Samuel) in the said family house Obere, after Iju.

“I know Uchenna Olewunne. Uchenna is an herbalist and I used to scout for customers with different personal problems for him.

“At a point, my work was not moving fine and I discussed this hard life of mine with Uchenna. I told Uchenna that I was tired of living from hand to mouth, that I wanted to free myself from the chains of abject poverty.

“He said it would cost me just one human head and must be the head of a person known to me in order for the money making charm to  be effective and produce the needed millions of naira.

“I told Samuel what Uchenna told me and we met Uchenna again who promised that he would take us to another native doctor who specializes in money rituals at Owode (in Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State).

“The native doctor accepted to do it on the condition that we must bring the human head with correct name and other important details. He told us not to be afraid as he had rescued several human head merchants caught by the police in the past.

“In the night of that fateful day, at about 11:00 pm Uchenna came to the family house and we told him that the human head was in a family house. Samuel exhumed the skull while I kept watch  to see that nobody was watching us.

“When we took the human head to the native doctor, the man said there were other things needed to prepare the concoction and that it would cost N48,000.

“Samuel and I arranged N16,000 while Uchenna promised to add N10,000 to make the total sum N26,000. But, I don’t know whether Uchenna eventually gave the native doctor the N26, 000 that the three of us contributed.

“However, the native doctor asked us to come back the following  day with charcoal to burn the skull to make the concoction. Unfortunately, operatives of IRT arrested us on our way to get the charcoal.’’

The second suspect, Olaniyi, a palm wine tapper and also father of three  said: “Matthew lived with me in my one room apartment. Matthew told me about the deal because I had the details of the boy whose skull we wanted to dig out from the grave at his family house.

“The deceased was my relative but I didn’t attend his burial. My role was to bring out the skull while Uchenna’s role was to dig the grave.

‘’My regret is that I didn’t get a dime after the whole exercise. I am still a poor man. The devil deceived us.

Uchenna, the native doctor, denied being a ritualist.

He claimed to be only a specialist in curing ailments.

He said: ”I am a native doctor, but I am not into rituals. I only cure stomach trouble, venereal diseases, impotency, fever, acute malaria, and fibroid, among others.

“This is my first time of getting involved in money rituals. They came to me and brought the issue of money ritual and I told them the babalawo (native doctor) that could  do it for them. I didn’t want to become a millionaire. I didn’t follow them to the grave. They lied against me. I only took them to a native doctor.”

Miyetti Allah condoles with Pa Fasoranti over daughter

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) on Saturday extended its condolences to the family of Reuben Fasoranti, a foremost Yoruba leader whose daughter was killed in an ambush on Friday afternoon.

Funke Olakunrin was travelling to Lagos when gunmen ambushed her vehicle and other travellers near Ore, Ondo State, killing her on the spot and wounding her female aide.

Amidst a raging ethnically-charged commotion over the killing, Baba Uthman, the national security official of the cattle breeders’ union, recognised the death as a huge loss to the nation and sympathised with the Fasorantis.

He also called on irate Nigerians to allow security agencies enough time to investigate the violence and withhold conclusions about the ethnic identity of the killers in the interest of national unity.

“As we express sincere heartfelt condolence to the family of the deceased, we are left in a deep shock on how a section of the media in collaboration with elements in the country that are held bane (sic) on using every opportunity available to them to fuel crisis as they continue the negative profiling of Fulanis for their total annihilation by jumping into a mischievous conclusion that she was killed by herdsmen.

“We strongly condemn this very unprofessional, unpatriotic and callous news reportage patterns that have been conscripted against our people by the section of the media.

“We are calling on security agencies to swing into action, and unravel the perpetrators to bring them to justice in the shortest possible time,” Mr Uthman said.

Again, court grants Sambo Dasuki bail

The Court of Appeal has again granted bail to a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The court also ordered the federal government to pay Mr Dasuki N5 million for holding him against the provisions of section 35 (6) of the constitution which gives every Nigerian the right to free movement.

Mr Dasuki has been held by security operatives since December 2015 when he was arrested on allegations he diverted $2.1 billion from funds meant for the war against terrorism.

Several court orders for the release of the former NSA had been flouted by the Nigerian government.

PDP Condemns Killing Of Afenifere Leader’s Daughter

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned “in totality” the gruesome killing of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Chairman of Yoruba Socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, by yet to be apprehended gunmen.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary, the main opposition party also lamented what it said was the unpardonable lethargy in apprehending her killers since Friday.

According to the PDP, it was “heartrending that under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, our nation has become a killing field and large funeral parlour with insurgents, bandits and assassins having a field day waylaying and killing innocent compatriots, especially those making very useful contributions to the development of our nation.”

It said it was worried that security agencies were rather engaging in debates over the identity of the killers and hurriedly pointing to a case of abduction even before any extensive investigation has been carried out on the horrific and dastardly act.

The party observed that the killing of Mrs. Olakunrin marked yet another national loss occasioned by “the failure of the Buhari administration to secure the nation beyond lip service, a development that has emboldened marauders in our country.”

The PDP posited: “Olakunrin must not die in vain. Our dear nation must not continue to lose her finest and brightest in the hands of bandits. Our party, therefore, charges the authorities to go beyond condolence messages from Abuja and take concrete steps to apprehend Funke Olakunrin’s killers, as well as ensure the security of lives in our nation.”

The PDP, while condoling Pa Fasoranti, charged the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, to take immediate and decisive steps, “beyond the lip service of the Buhari administration, to track down the killers without further delay and make them face the full wrath of the law, no matter who they are.”
