Very few men can manage successful women –Ara

Female talking drummer, Ara, is of the opinion that not all men have the capacity to handle successful women. Speaking on why many female artistes choose to be single mothers, she had said, “It is largely a personal decision for any of us who finds herself in that category. It’s deep because most female artistes tend to date and get married to their managers. Then, they later get to find out that they cannot mix business with pleasure. Your manager cannot be your husband.

However, there are some exceptional cases, such as Azeezat and Seyi Allen. When I talk to my colleagues, I realize that we still want to be loved and married. I personally believe in the marriage institution, and most of my colleagues that I interact with are of the same opinion. But nobody wants to stay in a bad relationship.

Very few men can manage a successful woman. It takes a self-confident and God-fearing man to be with a popular and successful woman. And this is not just about entertainment; it also applies to women who are successful in other fields. It is a major issue, trust me.”

Boko Haram slices off women’s ears in Cameroon

In a recent dawn attack, Boko Haram gunmen sliced off the ears of women, who apparently had been helping by passing information to the Cameroonian and Multinational Joint Task Force, set up to degrade the insurgency in Kalagari community, a border village in northern Cameroon near Nigeria.

The women were part of a vigilante group set up by the community, but when the Boko Haram militia came, they outnumbered the local forces and dealt with their women.

Cameroon.-info.net that reported the latest brutality by the insurgents said they have stepped up their attacks in Cameroon in recent times.

On June 9, 16 Cameroon soldiers were killed in an attack in the own of Darak, Logone and Chari district.

The attack was carried out by an estimated 300 Boko Haram fighters. Eight civilians were also wounded in the attack.

President Paul Biya has come under criticism, for keeping mute over the attacks on Kalagari and Darak.

Biya however sent a condolence message to his Nigerian counterpart, President Muhammadu Buhari over the attack last weekend in Nganzai district of Borno, in which at least 70 people reportedly died, including over 23 mourners.

The Boko Haram group had been known for all manners of bestial deeds, such as beheading victims, cutting their hands while pretending to enforce Sharia and burning homes of people.

COZA: Board of Trustees member, Pastor Banigbe quit

A member of the Board of Trustees of the Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo’s Commonwealth of Zion Assembly has quit. Pastor Obafemi Banigbe sent a letter to Fatoyinbo, resigning as a registered member of the board of trustees with immediate effect. He anchored his exit on personal reasons.

A copy of the letter was sent to the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Because of the timing of the letter, July 19, there have been speculations that Banigbe quit because of the rape allegation against the church’s leader and Chairman of the Board of trustees, Fatoyinbo.

But Banigbe gave a different reason, saying he had been a passive member of the board since 2008 because he has been working and living outside Nigeria.

Nigeria's p*rn queen makes u-turn, says p*rn couldn't give me money and fame as she begs Nigerians for forgiveness

Savage Trap Queen in a chat with Saturday Beats shocked many when she said she has quit acting p*rn. Remember she had boasted about making between N80,000 to N100,000 per role when she features as a p*rn star?

But now she said it's all over and she has embraced a new life. Speaking to Saturday Beats she said,

“I was cheated and assaulted as a p*rn star. I was disrespected, and I wasn’t even paid completely. I don’t think anyone should go into it. I decided to quit when I looked at my life and caution myself. I didn’t know what I was doing. When I was into p*rn, people assumed I was making a lot of money. However, p*rn companies make more money than p*rn stars; they only give them a token. I said to myself that wasn’t the kind of life I wanted to live. I know the society I live in doesn’t accept such immorality. I won’t advise any young Nigerian to venture into it because whether you like it or not, whatever action you take has consequences, either good or bad”.

On how she started her career as a p*rn actress, she said;

“I didn’t plan to be a p*rn star. A friend actually told me about the job. She told me it was a reality TV show and not porn. When I complained to her that some of the faces I saw were the individuals I knew as p*rn stars, she still maintained that it was a reality TV show. However, on getting there, I realised it wasn’t a reality show; it was p*rn. The girls and the first person I worked with were convincing and led me into it. I could have resisted them, but I was foolish. I thought it would fetch me money and fame because I love being in the limelight. I love the celebrity lifestyle,” she said.

On her plans for the future and begging not to be judged, she said;

She stated, “I have embraced a new life and I’m trying hard to penetrate into Nollywood because I want to become an actress. I also love dancing so I can do well as a video vixen or model. I am tired of being judged. I just want to lead a normal and peaceful life, and be happy. I hope Nigerians out there give me another chance so I won’t go hungry or fall into depression again because I have been depressed a couple of times.”

Closure of Lagos-Ibadan expressway postponed

The Federal Government has shifted from 3 August to 2 September , the planned closure for repairs of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mr Adedamola Kuti, made the announcement in Lagos on Friday.

He explained that due to the busy nature of the highway, the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing had made announcements earlier on the closure, in a bid to reduce stress for commuters.

Kuti added that because the government and the contractor handling the rehabilitation were sensitive to the plight of road users, they decided to shift the construction to Sept. 2 from Aug. 3 scheduled earlier for commencement of work.

“You may wish to know that the road project is an ongoing one and the contractor’s mode of operation is to create diversion as necessary to enable reconstruction work to be carried out at a specific location.

“This has been done on several occasions along the alignment.

“The intended reconstruction and expansion work of the section between Berger Junction and Kara Bridge is designed to follow the same way.

“This location has high volume of traffic and commercial activities, hence an early release of information to the public to intimate them of the planned work.

“The idea is to divert traffic at this location to enable construction work to be carried out.

“To ensure effective traffic management and show sensitivity to Nigerians, the government and the contractors have now reviewed the work plan.
