Pregnant mum charged with 'disorderly conduct' for letting her toddler urinate in a petrol station car park

But this is done all the time in Nigeria, lol. A pregnant mum has been charged with a 'disorderly conduct' for letting her toddler urinate in a petrol station car park. The incident took place in Augusta, Georgia, US at a gas station.

Brooke Johns noticed her toddler had begun to 'pee on himself' during the lengthy car journey to the hospital.

They stopped and let him out as it was too late to get him to a toilet in time.

Johns was then written up by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office after a deputy spotted her three-year-old son Cohen, relieving himself during the incident in March.

The case against Johns has since been dropped, but the mum had to attend court on two occasions before the state dropped the matter.

The footage begins with the deputy speaking with Johns, after he spotted Cohen urinating.

"All you had to do was take him inside,” the deputy says.

“Okay, in a bad part of town? Really? When I am on my way to the hospital,” Johns responds.

“Bad part of town? What are you talking about?” the deputy says.

The two continue to discuss the issue with Johns saying, “Nobody saw him” to the deputy.

“I did,” the deputy says.

The deputy then gets in his patrol car to look through a list of citations as Johns begins to speak to someone on her phone.

“I’m sitting here with a cop on Sandbar Ferry Road because I snatched him out the car to go pee,” Johns says to the phone. “Because he was literally peeing on himself.”

“I literally snatched him out the car because he was peeing, and he was in between the door, so it’s not like he was spinning around, showing his p-nis to everyone,” Johns said.

Newborn dies after mum fell asleep while feeding him

A newborn baby has died after his mother fell asleep while feeding him, an inquest has heard.

Joanne Harwood found her three-week-old son, Harry Marwood-Bartlett, lying face down on her bed in a pool of blood after she unexpectedly dozed off at her home in Kendal, Cumbria on November 15.

Her adult son Thomas called the emergency services and paramedics administered CPR until the ambulance arrived.

Harry was rushed off to Furness General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.

Joanne gave evidence into her son's death at an inquest in Cockermouth Coroners' Court.

A Home Office pathologist Dr Alison Armour believes the baby died after his mother accidentally rolled over him when she fell asleep.

However, Dr Jo McPartland, paedtiatric and perinatal pathologist disagreed and said the cause of the newborn's death is still not ascertained.

Coroner Dr Nicholas Shaw, presiding at Cockermouth Coroner's Court, said Harry "most likely... rolled off the knee at some stage then came into an unsafe position".

Dr Shaw said Harry died because of inadvertent co-sleeping and issued an urgent warning for all mothers to be careful of sleeping in the same beds as their infant children.

Ms Harwood, a self-employed hairdresser, returned back to just 10 days after giving birth to her baby on October 20.

On November 15, the fatigued mother returned back from work and put her child to sleep at around 10pm.

She woke up sometime during the night to feed her child but accidentally dozed off.

The mother then found her newborn son dead on her bed lying in a pool of blood around his face.

Tests showed Ms Harwood had no alcohol or drugs in her system at the time of her son's death.

A post mortem revealed Harry had no injuries or underlying disease or infection.

Pep Guardiola becomes first Premier League manager to be shown yellow card

Pep Guardiola has become the first Premier League manager to be shown a yellow card. The Spaniard was booked by referee Martin Atkinson in the 41st minute of the Community Shield encounter with Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday.

The Manchester City boss was left furious after a high challenge from Joe Gomez left City skipper David Silva in a crumpled heap.

The Liverpool and England defender won a bouncing ball ahead of the Spaniard, but Guardiola was unhappy with the manner of the challenge, venting at fourth official Stuart Atwell.

As Silva received treatment on the field, referee Atkinson approached the technical area and proceeded to show the yellow card.

UK jails 3 Nigerians who funded ‘Black Axe’ for years

Three siblings who were working directly for the leader of a notorious Nigerian crime gang have been jailed for a total of 16 years after laundering nearly £1m for the Black Axe organised crime syndicate through UK bank accounts.

Okemiorukaye Nakpodia, 56, was found guilty of conspiracy to money launder at Woolwich Crown Court on 8 May. Esther Nakpodia, 35, Unuakpotovo Nakpodia, 46, both pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

They laundered the proceeds of hundreds of frauds between 2007 and 2015. Police identified 174 suspicious transactions entering bank accounts.

Money from a number of the victims of the original frauds ended up in the defendants’ bank accounts and was then laundered by the Nakpodias.

The leader of the Black Axe, Augustus Bemigho-Eyeoyibo, is the brother-in-law of the three defendants. Black Axe is a banned organisation in Nigeria and has been linked to decades of murders, rapes, extortion and drug dealing in Nigeria and across the world, with members allegedly swearing a ‘blood oath’ to join.

Today at Woolwich Crown Court Unuakpotovo Nakpodia has been jailed for seven years and seven months, Okemiorukaye Nakpodia has been jailed for six years and six months, while Esther Nakpodia has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

Sowore's Arrest: Joe Odumakin tells Federal Government calling a protest is not a crime

Human rights activist and President of Centre for Change, Dr. Joe Odumakin has condemned the arrest of former African Action Congress (AAC) Presidential candidate, Mr Omoyele Sowore by the men of the DSS ahead of Monday, August 5, 2019 protest.

Dr. Odumakin made this known in a press statement saying that the arrest is uncalled for as calling a protest cannot be a crime under any law to warrant anticipatory arrest.

The statement reads: "The attention of the Centre for Change has been drawn to the arrest of Mr Omoyele Sowore by men of DSS.

The arrest coming ahead of the Monday protest he and others are spearheading suggests a fleding culture of intolerance that may be gripping the country.

Except he has committed any other offence that we are not aware of ,calling a protest cannot be a crime under any law to warrant anticipatory arrest as has been done .

We demand immediate release of the activist whom we declare a prisoner of conscience for every minute he is held.

We advise the government to temper its mood as this is a democracy and not military rule"

Don’t blame every problem on herdsmen - Kukah warns

The Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Hassan Kukah yesterday said the diversity of Nigeria should be seen as a strength instead of a divisive factor. He also said blaming every problem on Herdsmen and Fulani will not help the country.

Kukah said this at the burial ceremony of Air Peace airline chairman, Barrister Allen Onyema’s father, Chief Micheal Onyema in Mbosi, Anambra state. According to him criminal elements are perpetuating evil and Nigerians are blaming herdsmen.

He said that banditry, armed robbery cases and killings currently going on in some part of the country should be tackled holistically, instead of taking the easy path of blaming every crime on herdsmen.

He said : “ We are all herdsmen. We are all nomads. I have a couple of goats I got as gift that I am currently rearing. So. I am also a herdsman. We should always look beyond the surface and tackle every problem head-on. The country’s problem is much more complex”.

Meghan Markle set to become author with children’s book about dogs

Meghan Markle is set to become a published author as she begins work on her first book, believed to be about her dogs. A source close to the royal family has said that The Duchess of Sussex is in the process of writing her debut novel.

However, while Meghan hasn’t fully decided on a topic, the book definitely will not give away any secrets about royal life. It is expected it will be a children’s book about her rescue dogs as Meghan is a well-known animal lover.

The Duchess is following in her family’s footsteps with the move after her father-in-law Prince Charles released a children’s book called The Old Man of Lochnagar in 1980.

A royal insider told the Sun: ‘Meghan is going to become a published author and is very excited about it.

‘The plans are in the very early stages and won’t be formally announced for some time. ‘But she’s very excited about the possibility and is passionate about the idea of a work of fiction for children. ‘She loves animals and her rescue dogs so it’s very likely they will be incorporated into the story.

Though my father worked at CBN, I wasn’t born with silver spoon –Nse Ikpe Etim

No doubt, screen goddess, Nse Ikpe Etim, is always graceful whenever she appears on the television, especially when she smiles. Her gracious features, from her natural hair to her flawless skin, would make people believe that she was born with a silver spoon.

However, in a recent interview with Sunday Scoop, the actress mentioned that although her father worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria, it was wrong to assume that she was born with a silver spoon.

She said, “It is rather presumptuous to assume that I was born with a silver spoon because my father worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria. Of course not; I was not born with a silver spoon.

“My father was posted to different parts of Nigeria and the advantages were that we got to see the country, learn new cultures, and pick up new languages though I have forgotten loads of phrases. One of the disadvantages was that I made and lost friends along the line, so either way, we just lived. At the end of the day, we turned out okay.”

Tekno risks jail for publicly dancing with van strippers

Popular musician, Augustine Kelechi, otherwise known as Tekno, as well as four others risk being jailed for two years for publicly shooting a music video depicting semi-nude women dancing seductively in a display truck in traffic around the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge in Lagos.

Tekno was seen dancing with the semi-clad women on Friday and spraying them with money, hitting them in the buttocks, an act which many Nigerians described as obscene.

The act is said to be in contravention of Section 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which provides that any person who commits any act of gross indecency with another person in public commits an offence and liable to a conviction to three years imprisonment.

Section 134(a) further stipulates that an indecent act in a public place makes both parties engaging in the act liable to imprisonment for two years.

Attempts to get a reaction from Tekno proved abortive as his Manager, Olayinka Onibudo, neither responded to calls nor a text message on Saturday.

However, artiste, Raphael Omoniyi, popularly known as  Zlatan Ibile, confirmed on Instagram that the video titled, ‘Agege’, featured himself and Tekno.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency has announced the suspension of the advertising agency whose display truck was used in shooting the video.
