The Duke of York, Prince Andrew accused of groping young woman’s breast

The Duke of York, Prince Andrew has been accused in court documents of touching a young woman’s breast at a Manhattan mansion.

It is believed the incident took place at the mansion of Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier who is facing federal s-x trafficking charges in New York.

The allegation surfaced in a cache of legal papers unsealed by a US judge in a defamation case involving a British socialite, who is alleged to have supplied Epstein with underage girls.

Ghislaine Maxwell, a British socialite and media heiress is accused of procuring underage girls for Epstein and his circle of ‘rich and powerful friends.’

Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre sued Maxwell in 2015, after she alleged he defamed her by claiming she was a liar.

She also claimed that Epstein coerced her into s-xual encounters with Prince Andrew.

In the legal documents, released on Friday, Johanna Sjoberg, another alleged Epstein victim, said Andrew touched her breast while sitting on a couch inside the billionaire’s Manhattan apartment in 2001. Buckingham Palace denied the allegations, calling them ‘categorically untrue’.

In the court documents, Ms Sjoberg said: ‘I just remember someone suggesting a photo, and they told us to go get on the couch. And so Andrew and Virginia sat on the couch, and they put the puppet, the puppet on her lap.

‘And so then I sat on Andrew’s lap, and I believe on my own volition, and they took the puppet’s hands and put it on Virginia’s breast, and so Andrew put his on mine.’

The legal documents go on to claim that Ms Sjoberg was a ‘young college student’ who was approached by ‘perfect stranger’ Ms Maxwell, who ‘lured’ her to Epstein’s home with the promise of a ‘legitimate job’.

He could face trial soon.

Xenophobia attack: Nigerian students shutdown South Africa’s Shoprite in Ogun state

National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Saturday shutdown South Africa’s grocery chain, Shoprite at Ota in Ogun State.

A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent in Ota reports that the students picketed the shopping mall to protest what they described as unrestrained xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

Scores of young Nigerians residing in South Africa have been brought home in body bags in recent years, having been killed in apparent xenophobic attacks in the former apartheid nation.

The Shoprite mall was shut down around 11:10 a.m. in the presence of policemen with shoppers horridly ordered out of the mall.

The students carried placards with inscriptions: “South Africans must go. Enough of the killing of our brothers, sisters and relatives in South Africa. You can’t continue to kill our people and still feed fat on us.’’

Speaking with reporters, the National Public Relations Officer of NANS, Mr Azeez Adeyemi, said that “NANS’ leadership under its President, Mr Danielson Bamidele, has resolved to champion the struggle of putting sense back into lawless South Africans.

“It seems the government of South Africa derives pleasure from the senseless killings and sees the continuous xenophobic attacks on Nigerians residents in South Africa as a norm.

“NANS’ struggle against xenophobia has moved beyond ordinary street protests.

“Our target now is to mobilise Nigerian students and Nigerians towards truncating the smooth running of South African businesses in Nigeria.

“We shall resume here at Shoprite, Stanbic IBTC, MTN and Multichoice on Aug. 14 for a total shut down.

“This is a struggle that will continue until victory of purpose is achieved,” Adeyemi said.

Nigerian man arrested in Tokyo for ‘inheritance’ scam

Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a male Nigerian national over the alleged swindle of a man in Setagaya Ward earlier this year.

In April and May, the suspect, 36, allegedly defrauded the man, aged in his 50s, out of a total of 3 million yen.

The suspect denies the allegations, telling police he collected the “money to buy a car on behalf of an acquaintance.”

In carrying out the ruse, the suspect posed as an employee of a foreign bank in calling the victim on the telephone. “You can legally collect 400 million yen in an inheritance from a Japanese person with your same surname who died in Libya,” he falsely told the victim.

The victim then sent the money to the bank account of the suspect to cover the preparation of documents necessary to receive the claimed inheritance which inturn was used for his own personal expenses.

'I have been scarred': Neymar makes first statement since r-pe case against him was dropped

Neymar has released a statement after a judge in Brazil ordered the closure of the investigation into claims the football star raped a model in a Paris hotel room in May.

The Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain forward was accused of raping model Najila Trindade Mendes de Souza in the French capital on May 15.

However, this week Brazilian prosecutors followed the police recommendation that the case be dropped due to a lack of evidence.

Neymar, 27, had repeatedly rejected the accusations and released a statement on his Instagram account of Friday saying that his “world had come crashing down” but that he was “relieved” the case was now closed.

"This has been a stage in my life I'll never forget for many reasons. Mainly for the damage it has caused me, my family and the people who really know me. If I'm being honest, I can't say I'm happy, more relieved. This scar will remind me that human beings can do good things, but also the worst.

"Yes, my world has come crashing down and hit the ground. But as a jiu-jitsu legend once said: the ground is the final of everything, but for us it's just the beginning," he wrote in Portuguese.

President Buhari to visit South Africa over killing of Nigerians, other issues

Amidst the hostility of Nigerian students to South African companies in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted an invitation to visit his South African counterpart in October.

According to a statement by Garba Shehu, SSA to President Buhari, Buhari and President Cyril Ramaphosa, will seize the visit to discuss issues relating to wellbeing of citizens and ways to further strengthen trade relations between the two largest African economies.

In a telephone conversation with the South African leader at his country home in Daura, Katsina State, President Buhari accepted an invitation to visit the country to further “consider recurrent issues concerning wellbeing of the Nigerian community in South Africa, and the need to promote trade and investment.’’

The statement was vague on the main issues concerning Nigerians and the South African people and police authorities, over the issue of xenophobia and the rampant killings of Nigerians in the country.

In an earlier letter of invitation, the South African President said:

“Your visit will provide an excellent opportunity for our sister countries to further consolidate and advance our strategic partnership and cooperation on matters of peace, security and socio-economic development in our continent.

“We will discuss issues of mutual interest and concern in global governance.’’

President Ramaphosa said the meeting will provide an opportunity to inaugurate a Bi-national commission for both countries to “effect the strategic decisions taken in 2016 to elevate it to the level of Heads of State.’’

Reports had it that officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, were chasing suspected Yahoo Boys and were shooting indiscriminately when a stray bullet hit the woman, simply identified as Biliki in her shop. She was rushed to the hospital but died.

But Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana said the police officers were not SARS, but officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Team.

It was gathered that immediately the woman was shot, a mob seized one of the policemen and attempted to lynch him after beating him mercilessly.

The mob was said to have taken the policeman to a traditional ruler in Ijegun.

An eye witness, Adesina Ayodele said the woman “was in her shop at Ijegun junction, Ijagemo road while some member of the SARS were chasing some yahoo boys, spraying bullets and a stray bullet eventually caught her. The members of the SARS had to run for their lives while youth were on the street trying to bring them out.

“The boys caught two of them in the swamp and took them to the Palace of Oba Ijegun.”

According to a resident in the area, the road in front of the King’s palace was impassable at the moment, while vehicle movements had been diverted into a nearby street to access Ijegun bus stop.

But Elkana disclosed that a policeman was killed while two others were injured during the fracas, adding that the police had deployed more men to the area to maintain peace.

“They were Anti-Kidnap, not SARS operatives. We don’t have the details of what happened for now. But the mob has killed one policeman and injured two. The area is still tense. But we are handling it,” he said.

I never knew I will end up with Teddy A, Bam Bam speaks on engagement

BamBam who got engaged last sunday to fellow reality star Teddy A, says she never knew they will last this long or ever get into the stage they are. Accoridng to her it was all a game until it became a reality. Speaking to saturday beats, she said;

“It (engagement) is real. Just like every other thing, you would see it happen. I can’t start giving (wedding) dates”.

BamBam also advised intending couples to be best friends with their partners so they can know each other’s limits and boundaries. She stated, “If you cannot make a best friend out of your intending partner, where you know their limits and their boundaries, then you are messed up really. I am blessed that Teddy is mature, not careless, and as public figures, we know how to manage situations that seem beyond our control.”

Describing her union with Teddy in the Big Brother house as fate, she said, “Fate happened to us. I can’t say it was pre-planned. He had a serious relationship that was one-year-old before I met him. He had a girlfriend he was serious with, so we did not plan to fall in love with each other. We did not know we would last this long. We had a very rare connection in the house. We both knew it but we kept telling ourselves ‘it’s just for the game’ but it was no game. So, I can’t predict what fate has designed. So, people should not go in there hoping to be a Teddy A and BamBam. I went to the house for a different purpose, but ended up getting Teddy as a bonus.”

Daddy Showkey speaks on son’s career and his alleged dumping of music for Nollywood

Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey has said he has no problem with the pace of his singer son’s career. Though he was already a household name at his son’s present age, he said they both had different paths in life and shouldn’t be compared.

He told Saturday Beats, “My child has a lot to do and he is taking it easy, step by step. There is no basis for comparison.”

On whether his son would be able to fill the shoes he (Daddy Showkey) left behind, the Diana singer simply said, “He will do more than I did.”

Showkey, who celebrated his birthday during the week, also set tongues wagging when a picture of veteran actor, Pete Edochie, praying for him surfaced online. Many felt the singer had gone to the actor for prayers. Explaining what actually happened, Showkey said, “I didn’t go to meet Pete Edochie for prayers. We were shooting a film in Enugu and he found out my birthday was on that day, so at the location, he said I should kneel down that he wanted to pray for me because that was the year he gave birth to his first son.”

The singer also revealed that he launched a foundation to celebrate his birthday. He added, “I launched my foundation on my birthday. I also went to renew my mum’s blessing on me and I went to my neighbourhood to see my people. My foundation is about getting homeless children out of the streets, and I am also trying to establish a school strictly for skill acquisition.”

Contrary to insinuations in some quarters that the singer was planning to ditch music for acting, Showkey said the two art forms could be practiced simultaneously. “Why would I quit music, which is my number one passion? I am an entertainer, and movies are part of entertainment. Sometimes, in Nigeria, we try to look for what is not there. When we shoot music videos, don’t we act in them? An actor can be a musician and a musician can also be an actor. There are musicians such as Will Smith, 50 Cent who also act, so why should I limit my tentacles? Didn’t Omotola, Tonto Dikeh, and Segun Arinze do music?”
