We will demolish houses housing kidnappers, Dapo Abiodun vows

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has vowed to demolish houses in the state housing kidnappers  and revoke their certificates of occupancy.

The governor assured that with the inauguration of the reinvigorated Security Trust Fund, the full architecture for internal safety of lives and property had been fully put in place.

Speaking at the inauguration of the “reinvigorated” Ogun State Security Trust Fund on Saturday, Abiodun said he had fulfilled yet another promise to provide good governance to the people.

“Ogun State will never be home for criminals, whether big or small. For such people, hell will be a child’s play, we will smoke them out, arrest them and hand them over to the swift hand of justice.

“And, for anybody, landlords or tenants, this is a very strong note of warning. Any property found to be serving as hideouts for criminals will not only be taken over by government, but such facility will also be demolished. Whoever is found to be harbouring such criminals will be arrested and handed over for prosecution,” he said.

Police issue 3 weeks ultimatum to Rivers hotels to install CCTVs over Serial killings

The Rivers State Police Command has issued three weeks ultimatum to all operators of hotels and luxury apartments in Port Harcourt, Rivers to install Close Circuit Television Cameras, CCTVs or risked closure.

This is sequel to killings of two women in hotels in Port Harcourt by unknown persons.

Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Nnamdi Omoni said the Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Dandaura, had warned after a meeting with the hotels and hospitality business owners in State that the there was the urgent need to curb the recent wave of serial killings using the hotels to hide to perpetrate crime in the state.

He said “I can assure you that this incessant killing in hotels will be a thing of the past, we have put measures in place to ensure that we don’t record such incidents in the command again.

“Yesterday, the CP invited hotels owners to a meeting where he sounded it loud and clear that they should install CCTVs in all their hotels in strategic places.

‘’Now what that means is that if that is done, we would be able to monitor all inflows and outflows of persons in and out of the premises, so if that is being put in place, it will go a long way in assisting us in our investigation,” he said.

The CP went further to constitute a Seven-man Panel and Task-force that will enforce his clear directive.

“The Hoteliers have been given three weeks within which to install these cameras in their hotels, otherwise if the enforcement team goes around and sees that a hotel has not complied or there’s no compliance, that hotel will be sealed,” he added.

The killing of Jennifer Nwokocha in a hotel on Woji road, GRA, Port Harcourt recently, followed the same pattern in the killing of the late Precious Ewuru in a D/Line Hotel about three weeks ago.

We will disgrace, arrest Buhari in Japan, Nnamdi Kanu threatens

IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has dared President Buhari saying the members of his group in the Republic of Japan had received orders from him to disgrace and arrest the President when he arrived the Asian country on Sunday.

According to Kanu, President Buhari must be arrested and handed over to Japanese authorities to enable him to answer for his alleged mass murder and crimes against humanity, which he allegedly committed in Nigeria between 2015 and 2019.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, had earlier on Friday informed Nigerians that the President would leave Nigeria for Japan on Sunday to participate in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development, holding in the City of Yokohama from August 28-30, 2019.

But in a statement on Friday evening, the pro-Biafra leader urged its members in the country to mobilise and ensure that they arrest President Buhari, saying they were ready for the legal aftermath of the action.

If Ubi Franklin writes a book he will sell...

MMMG boss Ubi Franklin has said he is def going to write a book in the nearest future, considering he wants to evolve more. But truth is, if Ubi Franklin writes a book now, HE WOULD SELL OUT..

He will give the likes of Toke Makinwa, OloriSupergal, Juliet Ibrahim a run for their money.

At the moment, many are interested in Ubi’s private life, so if he decides to write on it, it will be a blockbuster. Many wants to know how he manged to have 4 women hanging on him (Ubi only accepts 3 though), not just ordinary women, women who are successful at their  chosen fields, women who can stand alone... how he managed to take them to bed, despite them knowing there are other babymamas and all.

Aside that too, people would love to know how he managed to build his empire. A successful record label, what actually made him and Iyanya fall apart, how he has succeeded in his property business and more. Ubi’s book will be sold out in hours, if at all he decides to make it about his OWN LIFE. Lol.

Speaking with Saturday Beats, the music executive spoke on his future book and said;

“I have a book or two that I want to write but I have really not got things in place. Though there are a lot of things I would love to write about, I feel my life is still evolving. I think I should evolve a lot more before I start anything. But I would write a book when God says it’s the right time.”

On his feud with Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, Ubi says the actor has apologized, after he jumped the fence to make a joke of his post. Speaking about the feud, and Alex’s apology, Ubi said;

“He (Ekubo) was only joking, but I didn’t get the joke. He has already sent a message to apologise. It really wasn’t that serious. Whenever I go for speaking engagements, I always let people know that entrepreneurship is not easy. Because we don’t post our failures online doesn’t mean that a lot of us don’t fail. So, for me, I didn’t get his joke but he has already sent me a message, and I don’t have any issue with him. When you have a friend that you see all the time and things like that come from him, you would expect him to have called you and you both would discuss it. I honestly didn’t know it was a joke until he sent me a message that he regretted doing that. Before we knew it, everybody had already seen the post, but he had already apologised, so it is really not an issue.”

Joel Amadi confesses, being with a record label has saved me from depression, frustration

Though a lot of artistes, these days, prefer to be independent instead of being signed to a record label, Kennis Music signee, Joel Amadi, thinks otherwise.

Listing the benefits he enjoys being signed to a label, Amadi told Saturday Beats, “The advantage I have, being under a record label, is that I don’t think there is anything this industry would bring that I wouldn’t be able to face. Frustration is out of it, and depression is also cancelled because I have been through a lot. At a point, I thought I was going to die, as things weren’t working anymore. But right now, I think I am competent enough to face any challenge life throws at me.”

Disputing the notion that record labels don’t promote artistes as much as they should, the Hold On singer said, “Record labels are promoting people. I just shot a video for my single, and Kenny Ogungbe foot the bill. I didn’t pay a dime for it. Don Jazzy also signed some artistes and he is promoting them. I just feel a lot of artistes don’t want to be controlled. They feel that being with a record label is like being in prison. At the end of the day, it all depends on the individual. I have seen an artiste spend over N30m, yet his neighbours don’t even know his songs. It depends on one’s destiny.”

Amadi also maintained that being independent doesn’t guarantee success for an artiste . “It all depends on the individual. If you have what it takes to be independent then why not? However, being independent without experience is dangerous. As an artiste , if you have N50m to spend in the entertainment industry but lack the proper experience, you wouldn’t put the money to good use. It is important to have people who would put you through and guide you. There are so many things in the entertainment industry beyond having money and being talented. One needs to be disciplined and have the right orientation.”

Victoria Beckham puts on a rare public display of affection with husband

They have been enjoying time together as a family during their luxurious breakaway to Italy.

And David and Victoria Beckham looked happier than ever as they cosied up to one another onboard a yacht as they continued to document their idyllic trip to Puglia on Thursday.

The fashion designer, 45, posed with a wine glass in hand as she wrapped her other around her husband of 20 years, who was captured laughing animatedly.

The former Spice Girls singer looked effortlessly chic in a black swimsuit with a pair of ripped denim hotpants for the trip and opted to cover her brunette locks with a black baseball cap.

Looking equally ready for a day at sea, David, 44, displayed his plethora of intricate inkings as he sported a pair of dragon-printed swim shorts and a black bandana around his head.
