A$AP Rocky's Swedish lawyer shot multiple times

A$AP Rocky's former lawyer has been shot in Sweden.

Henrik Olssen Lilja, the attorney who initially represented the rapper after his July arrest in Sweden, was reportedly shot in the head and chest as he was leaving his apartment in Stockholm on Friday morning, TMZ reports. Lilja was later replaced by Slobodan Jovicic to represent Rocky.

According to the report, the shooter allegedly walked up to Lilja and shot him. A spokeswoman for the Swedish Bar Association further confirmed Lilja was the victim of the shooting. His condition is currently unknown.

Last month, Rocky was found guilty of assault by a Swedish court, but was given a conditional sentence after judges found the assault was not "of such a serious nature that a prison stance must be chosen."

Breaking! Don't retaliate against South Africans, Adeboye warns

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God has warned that Nigerians should not retaliate against South Africans in the country because of Nigerians still in their Nation.

According to the man of God, an average South African is a decent person and those causing violence in that country are very few. He warned that retaliating against them in Nigeria will cause harm to those in South Africa. He further encouraged Nigerians to take care of South Africans who are there neighbors.

He made this known few minutes ago at the ongoing September Holy Ghost service with the topic Lifted Into Glory during his sermon.

Former first lady of Honduras sentenced to 58 years in jail

The former first lady of Honduras, Rosa Elena Bonilla, has been to 58 years in jail on charges of fraud and undue appropriation of funds.

Bonilla, 52, wife of former president Porfirio Lobo, has been in custody since February 2018.

Her lawyer said she was innocent and an appeal would be filed with the Honduras Supreme Court.

It would be Bonilla's last chance to avoid serving the sentence.

She was accused of misusing the equivalent of $779,000 in funds between 2010 and 2014, which came from international donations and public funds meant to be used for social programmes.

The charges came from an investigation conducted by the attorney general's office and a unit of the Organisation of American States.

Bonilla used the money to pay for medical bills, jewellery, tuition for her children and building work, the attorney general's office said.

The court also sentenced Bonilla's close associate, Saul Escobar, to a 48-year jail sentence for embezzlement of public funds and fraud, Supreme Court spokesman Carlos Silva said.

Even if Bonilla and Escobar do not have their sentences overturned or reduced, they will only serve 30 years at most, which is the maximum allowed by Honduran law.

Mr Lobo, who governed Honduras between 2010 and 2014, has also been linked to the Cachiros criminal organisation in trials in the US but has rejected these accusations.

One of his sons pleaded guilty before a US court in 2017 to conspiring to import cocaine into the US. He was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

Full extent of Kevin Hart's injuries revealed as he 'goes through hell'

Kevin Hart is "going through hell" as details of his injuries are revealed after the devastating car crash.

The 40-year-old actor and comedian fractured his spine in three places after the car he was travelling in, left Malibu's Mulholland Highway.

The 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, which was Hart's birthday present to himself in July, was totally destroyed in the crash which saw his friend Jared Black injured.

Black’s fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman, who was in the back seat, managed to leave the wreckage with minor injuries.

Hart had surgery in Los Angeles on Sunday night, which fused the fractures. TMZ has reported that there were two in the thoracic part of his spine and one in the lumbar.

The surgery has been hailed a success but sources have told TMZ that Hart is "going through hell," and will remain heavily medicated for a while.

There was a brief worry surrounding the lumbar fracture, as this can make walking difficult and can lead to paralysis, but Hart is expected to make a full recovery.

A loving young mum is believed to have taken her own life just weeks before her 25th birthday.

Chloe McDaid, who was "friend to everyone", was tragically discovered by her father on July 2.

The mum from Wallasey in Wirral, Merseyside, doted on her eight-month-old daughter, Melodie, but "lost her fight" with her mental health, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Her mum, Mandy McDaid, has called for more awareness around mental health, warning that suicide risks "becoming the norm".

Paying tribute to Chloe, 24, Ms McDaid said her daughter was the type of person who would always be there for friends and was a "fantastic" mum to her baby girl, Melodie.

The 54-year-old said: "She was a very social person and had lots of friends. She was the kind of person who would light up a room with her smile.

Chloe's mum said that she had lots of interests when she was younger like gymnastics and making clothes, and "always looked good".

She had also recently become a full-time mum to a baby daughter.

An inquest into Chloe's death will be held on October 3.

Adamawa teacher drugs, impregnates 12-year-old pupil

A primary school teacher in Adamawa State, Mr Nathan Yusuf, who was arrested for defiling and impregnating his 12-year-old pupil, has confessed to giving the victim codeine before having carnal knowledge of her.

Yusuf was arrested by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps after the victim, who became pregnant as a result, narrated her ordeal to her parents.

The suspect, who before the incident was a welcome guest in the homes of most parents and guardians of pupils of the Gurel Primary School, Namtari, was said to have taken advantage of his position to perpetrate the act.

Trouble started for Yusuf when the victim’s parents and other members of the community noticed changes in her physical appearance and suspicion grew that she could be pregnant.

When she was confronted, the victim narrated what transpired between her and the teacher. Her statement led to the suspect’s arrest.

The Adamawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abdullahi Nurudeen, confirmed the development.

He said, “On September 2, 2019, around 2.30pm, we arrested one Nathan Yusuf, 37, a teacher at the Gurel Primary School, Namtari, in the Yola South Local Government Area, on the suspicion of defiling a pupil in his class, who is below 14 years. He has confessed to giving her codeine syrup before defiling her.

“As soon as we finish our investigation, the suspect will be charged. We are advising parents to be very vigilant and report such crimes to the relevant authorities for appropriate action.”

An uncle to the victim, Sulaiman Namtari, who also spoke about the incident, said the entire community was in shock because the suspect was a respected teacher, who was welcomed in every home.

“What he did was perfidy of the highest order and for that, we want the authorities not to spare him,” Namtari said.
The suspect, who was paraded before reporters, blamed his actions on the devil.

He accepted responsibility for his actions and promised to take care of the baby after its delivery.

Boris Johnson continues push for election as brother Jo Johnson resigns

Despite a string of stinging defeats in Parliament, and the painful, public resignation of his own brother, Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday continued his passionate push for an early general election he hopes would help him deliver Brexit by Oct. 31.

Johnson cast his quest to bust Britain out of the European Union in defiant and populist terms, saying he would “rather be dead in a ditch” than seek any further delays to Brexit.

He said he didn’t want to see “the “powers of the British people handed over to Brussels, so we can be kept incarcerated in the E.U.” That echoed the populist — and successful — appeal to British voters to “take back control” of Britain that led to the passage of Brexit in a 2016 national referendum.

Still, the tumult of the past week appeared to be taking a toll on Johnson, who was unusually halting and uncertain as he spoke before a group of police cadets in Yorkshire. Normally a gifted and confident orator, Johnson squinted awkwardly into the bright sunshine. He stumbled as he tried to recite the British equivalent of the Miranda rights to the cadets, who know the lines well.

That may have been especially understandable on a day he suffered the personal blow of having his younger brother, Jo Johnson, resign as a member of Parliament and government minister.

“In recent weeks I’ve been torn between family loyalty and the national interest — it’s an unresolvable tension & time for others to take on my roles as MP & Minister,” Jo Johnson tweeted, using the hashtag #overandout.

Why FG must demand compensation for Nigerians killed in South Africa – Lagos Assembly

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday demanded that the South African government be made to pay compensation in huge amounts to the victims of the latest xenophobic attacks in the country.

The lawmakers said this at a sitting where many condemned the incident and called on the Nigerian government to further prove its will by supporting its citizens abroad.

Speaker Mudashiru Obasa said Nigerians abroad should be able to enjoy government support while carrying out their legal activities.

Obasa further called on the government to push the recent attacks in South Africa to the attention of the African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN).

The Speaker, however, lamented that while the South Africans are killing Nigerians in their country, citizens are busy destroying businesses linked to South Africa but with Nigerian interest.
