A man's pen!s rotted after he injected it with petroleum jelly to try and make his member bigger, doctors have revealed.
The unnamed man, from the South Pacific islands, visited A&E feeling unwell and suffering from itchiness on his pen!s for five days.
He recalled injecting himself with petroleum jelly - the main ingredient in Vaseline - two years ago after his doctors quizzed him on his s-xual behaviour.
The penile shaft was 'grossly deformed' due to gangrene, with rotting flesh and a build-up of pus.
The man was rushed into emergency surgery, and endured two more operations to save the remains of his genitals.
After multiple skin grafts, the 45-year-old was able to return home a month later.
Dr Amer Amin, St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, published the tale in the journal Urology Case Reports.
He recalled treating an 'unwell looking man', who was feeling weak and suffering fevers when he sought help.
Upon examination, doctors found his penis was tender, had a severe build-up of fluids, and patches of visible rotting flesh.
He was diagnosed with Fournier's gangrene, a life-threatening and rapidly progressing 'flesh-eating bug' of the genitals.
Dr Amin said the patient reported the practice was fairly common where he lived.
On Wednesday, the Gauteng High Court found Ediozi Odi, a Nigerian national, guilty of human trafficking and sentenced him to the ultimate maximum sentence allowed -- six life terms and an additional 129 years.
Based on information documented by Zelda Venter, an IOL News journalist that has covered the case extensively, Ediozi Odi is a Nigerian national who operated a brothel in Springs, a metro in the east side of Ekurhuleni, South Africa.
There is not much else to know about Odi. He ran a s-x dungeon that was masqueraded as general store slash barbershop.
He and his co-accused, Nomsa Hlalele and Luke Botha faced 20+ charges related to human trafficking and other sx crimes for their direct involvement in using three girls, aged between 13 and 14, as s-x slaves.
During the trial, which was close-off to the public due to its personal nature and the fact that the victims who were also witnesses -- were still considered minors, the court heard testimony on how Odi’s mules, Hlalele and Botha were instrumental in luring the three girls.
It’s believed that they targeted girls from poor, impoverished communities, with a promise of a better life and an opportunity to work their way out of poverty.
However, once they were placed in the clutches of Odi, they soon realised the true extent of the horrific nightmare they had gotten themselves in.
The court, chaired by Judge Natvarlil Ranchod, heard that Odi used crack cocaine -- that he peddled in his house of horrors -- to turn the girls into drug addicts and dangled it as a prize for their cooperation in selling their bodies to men who visited the brothel.
Fortunately, two of the girls who had been held hostage in the brothel found a way to escape and they alerted the police who led an operation to rescue the third girl.
While the state of the three girls has yet to be revealed, Judge Natvarlil Ranchod could not hold back his disstate for the heinous crimes Odi committed.
He gave the Nigerian national the harshest sentence possible -- six life terms with an additional 129 years behind bars.
The Cyber Crime Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly duping several women of money by pretending to be a wealthy foreigner. According to an official statement, a person identified as Nonso George Okafor used to talk to women for weeks, promising gifts, marriage, and a comfortable life and later dupe them.
"The accused sent gifts to unsuspecting victims and then the women would get a call from a person pretending to be a customs official saying the gift has been held for customs violations and that she has to pay a clearance charge or fine to receive it," the statement said.
Once the victim transferred the money, the accused disappeared, it said. The accused used profile pictures and information of doctors, engineers and fashion designers living abroad to create new identities to con his victims.
"Okafor usually targeted single women around the age of 30, divorcees or disabled persons," it added. According to the police, the accused has conned several women using this modus operandi.

Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, says from the look of things, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s office has been rendered useless, impotent and irrelevant.
It, however, said it would be too early to speculate if Osinbajo’s “ordeal” was caused by any misdemeanor on his part or if it was based on permutations ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The spokesman for Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, said this during an interview with The Punch on Wednesday.
He said, “We are watching as events unfold. We are studying the situation, but we must also not muddle up issues. For now, we will not jump into any premature conclusion that this is about 2023 alone.
“We will need more information to know whether it is political or whether there was abuse of office or process.
“But the barrage of the last 48 hours shows that there is something wrong.
“We will wait to have all the facts because we don’t want to say a Yoruba man is being attacked.
“They may have had a justifiable reason to do so; but we are taking note of every development and at the appropriate time, we will make our position known.
“But clearly, what has happened is that the VP’s office has been rendered impotent, useless and irrelevant.”
A female journalist in Akwa Ibom State, has been thrown into jail for taking photos of task force officials who raided a city spot.
The spot is said to be notorious for illegal street-trading.
The journalist, Mary Ekere, has so far spent two nights in the prison as the journalists’ union in the state battles to secure her freedom.
Ms Ekere covers the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for The Post.
She was walking past a popular recreational spot called Ibom Plaza, in Uyo, the state capital, when she saw officials of Akwa Ibom government task force raiding the spot.
She decided to take some snapshots of their operations, Gideon Ekere, the editor-in-chief of The Post, said.
“They were on illegal operation, obviously. So, they arrested her for taking the photos, pushed her into their vehicle, and then threw her into jail just like that!” Mr Ekere said.
The task force is under the state government’s Environmental & Waste Management Agency headed by a man named Prince Ikim.
The journalist was arrested on Monday around 12:30 p.m. and later remanded in the Uyo prisons the same day.
Ms Ekere, wearing prisons uniform, was taken to a sanitation court on Tuesday morning.
The journalists’ union in Akwa Ibom made frantic but unsuccessful effort to secure her release, on learning about her arraignment.
“I went there (the court) in the morning, we were assured (by Prince Ikim) that bail conditions would be given to her and that she would be released,” Amos Etuk, the chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, told Premium Times, Tuesday night.
Mr Etuk said he also got assurance from the prosecutor the journalist was going to be released on bail on Tuesday.
Ms Ekere met her bail conditions but was taken back to the prisons because the magistrate had left without signing the bail documents.
“We don’t even know how they threw her into the prisons in the first place,” Mr Etuk said.
The NUJ issued a statement on Tuesday night condemning the arrest and arraignment of the journalist.
The former minister made the claim this morning on his twitter handle without mentioning any name. But from his tweet, it seems be is referring to a top government official.

Dozens of Britney Spears fans and followers of the #FreeBritney movement gathered outside a court in downtown Los Angeles Wednesday while inside a hearing was held over the troubled pop star’s controversial conservatorship.
‘Britney should be allowed to have control of her own life, her money, her career, her travel, everything,’ longtime Spears fan Christina Taft, 25, told DailyMail.com as she stood outside LA Superior Court holding a placard reading ‘End the Conservatorship.’
Taft who traveled 300 miles by bus from San Jose, California to be at the protest, added that Britney’s conservatorship - which has given her father, Jamie Spears strict supervision over her lifestyle and career for 11 years - has made her a ‘prisoner.’
’She should be set free and given back her rights. Her music is all about personal freedom - yet she herself is being denied that.’
Another protester who joined the crowd in chatting choruses of ’Free Britney’, Justin Pease, 32 ,of West Hollywood, CA, told DailyMail.com: ‘I’m here to raise awareness of the injustice that is being done to Britney. She is a cash cow for all theses other people - yet she’s not allowed any control over her money or her life. She has rights like everyone else.’
While the protesters marched up and down outside the courthouse carrying signs with slogans like ‘Let Britney Live on Her Own Terms’ and ‘The Conservator is Toxic,’ inside, Judge Brenda Penny cleared the courtroom and sealed the transcript from Wednesday’s hearing, saying issues being discussed - including Britney’s medical condition, her two sons and her personal finances - are too private and confidential to be aired in public.
Her father Jamie Spears, 67, and Britney’s mother Lynne, 64, were both in court along with a small army of lawyers representing them, the star herself, and the conservatorship.

Rights groups have welcomed the Indonesian parliament’s decision to raise the marriage age for girls from 16 to 19 as a victory in the fight to end rampant child marriages.
The House of Representatives on Monday passed revisions to the country’s 1974 marriage law, increasing the marriageable age for women to 19. The marriage age for men remained unchanged at 19, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
“We are grateful. Even though we had wanted it raised to 21, at least 19 is no longer a minor,” said Budi Wahyuni, Deputy Chair of the National Commission on Violence against Women.
“It’s a compromise because we know there are still some people who are opposed [to the change],” she said.
The United Nations children’s agency (UNICEF), said Indonesia had the eighth-highest absolute number of child brides in the world, at almost 1.5 million, with 14 percent of girls in the country marrying before the age of 18.
A previous attempt by activists to have the law changed failed when the Constitutional Court rejected in 2015 a petition to raise the marriage age for girls.
But in a surprise ruling in December, a different set of judges at the court ordered the parliament to revise the law in response to a petition filed by former child brides.
