Two arrested over possession of human skull in Osun
The two men, Mohammed Sanni and Raheem Abdullateef, living at Popo Area of Osogbo were nabbed at Gbaemu Junction of the state capital around 3:00 a.m. with a human skull.
The patrol team of Operation Puff Adder led by Emmanuel Ajisebutu, it was learnt, intercepted the suspects and upon a search of their luggage, discovered they had in it human part.
Sources around Gbaemu Junction, where the men were caught, told Punch correspondent that the suspects must have got the skull from a grave in Oke Ola, a nearby neighbourhood.
In a chat with Punch correspondent, police spokesperson for Osun Command, Folasade Odoro, explained that the men of Operation Puff Adder on patrol within Osogbo metropolis stopped the suspects after trailing them to Gbaemu Junction.
She said, “The man had already given the police tangible information about their activities.
“The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Ige had directed that the men should be arraigned before court after proper investigation into their activities has been carried out.”

Seven-year-old girl, stroke patient die as fire guts Lagos building
Punch correspondent gathered that the fire started around 3 pm after the girl lighted a gas cooker, which later exploded.
A resident, Ewatomi, who spoke to Punch correspondent from the scene of the incident, said as of 5 pm, the fire was still raging.
She said, “The fire started from a three-storey building and it has spread to the two-storey building beside it. The houses are too close to each other. Nobody could go upstairs to rescue anybody because smoke covered everywhere.

RCCG announces the death of Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Elijah Daramola
Pastor Elijah Daramola who was a member of the Governing Council of the Mission, passed on in the early hours of Sunday September 22 2019 after a brief illness.
He was the Pastor in Charge of Region 10, FCT from where he moved to Southern Africa Region 2 based in South Africa. In 2018, he was transferred back to Nigeria and became the Assistant General Overseer supervising the South East and South – South Regions in addition to being the Pastor in Charge of Region 6 based in Enugu.
Pastor Daramola is survived by his wife, Pastor Margaret Daramola and children. May his soul rest in peace!

Davido to appear in ‘Coming To America 2' ?
Davido, will be making an appearance in the upcoming sequel; “Coming To America 2“, this is according to Ghanaian/Liberian actor and comedian, Michael Blackson.
Blackson took to his twitter page to say Davido revealed to him that he has a performance appearance in the upcoming movie:
“Davido told me he has a performance scene in the movie #ComingToAmerica2 congrats homie”, Blackson tweeted. We however can't confirm if this is another joke from him.

Shortly after that, Idris got about N4.5m from her contacts and another N500,000 from Mustipha's contact and disappeared. According to Sobola, she didn''t want to put this out, but she was left with no choice after trying to get hold of him for MONTHS.

Messy! Mother of four accuses Lawmaker of r.a.p.e, police intimidation
Kamalu told Justice Nicholas Oweibo that following an incestuous relationship with Chima, the lawmaker offered to pay her N20m if she divorced her husband, Gabriel Igbibi.
Chima is representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Federal Constituency of Imo State at the House of Representatives.
Kamalu is seeking protection from Chima, who she alleged caused her to be arrested on May 27, 2019, tortured, humiliated, detained for seven days by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and arraigned on a fictitious N40m theft charge.
She made the allegation in a fundamental rights suit marked FHC/L/CS/1458/19, which came up on September 11, 2019.
Her counsel, Chijioke Jiakponna, told the judge that Chima had been evading service.
He alleged that when the bailiff called Chima on phone to inform him that he wanted to serve him, the lawmaker dropped the call.
Justice Oweibo had adjourned until September 23 to rule on whether to allow substituted service but the court did not sit on Monday.
In an affidavit filed by Kamala on August 22, 2019, she said the suit was filed due to the “intimidation, mounting surveillance and or illegal oral invitation threat of life and annihilation of property”.
She said she had been living “in perpetual fear” of being further detained “indefinitely”.
Kamalu is seeking several reliefs including a declaration that her arrest and detention “by the respondent at the State CID Police Headquarters, Owerri, Imo State for seven days was unconstitutional”.
Others include a declaration that her invitation by the police for another investigation while the case has been adjourned sine die at the Chief Magistrate Court, Owerri, violates her rights.
She also asked for an order restraining the respondents from further arresting, pursuing and intimidating her.
“An order directing the 1st 2nd, 4th to 6th respondents to release forthwith her Infinix Note 7 and lnfinix Note 8 illegally seized by the respondents during the arrest and torture in Lagos.
“An order awarding damage in the sum of N50m to the applicant for the unlawful arrest, torture, unlawful detention, insult, disgrace, intimidation and the embarrassing treatment meted out on the applicant.”
In the affidavit in support of her application, Kamalu averred that she and Chima began dating in 1993 while she was in secondary school.
She said, “We dated for 10 years, after which he proposed marriage and we both agreed to settle down as husband and wife.
“Unfortunately, our parents kicked against our relationship on the ground that we are biologically related and that we were committing incest and could not get married, so I married another man called Gabriel Igbibi.”
The applicant said she reconnected with the lawmaker when she needed assistance to execute a contract she secured and that after she refused his advances, “he raped me”.
She added, “I lodged the case first at New Owerri Police Station wherein he influenced it and I wrote a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Abuja. The petition was assigned to Zone 9 Police Command, Umuahia, Abia State.
“The 1st respondent settled the police and they brokered peace between the 1st respondent and me, wherein he promised to take proper care of me because he cannot withdraw himself from me.
“Following our reconciliation, we resumed our incestuous relationship.
“My husband got wind of the relationship between the 1st respondent and myself and filed for divorce.
“The 1st respondent promised that if the divorce succeeds, he will be giving me N20m every six months and also buy me a property in any designated place in Lagos.
“The marriage was dissolved at the Ikeja High Court, Lagos. After the divorce, the 1st respondent told me that before he will take the relationship serious, I will have to bear a child for him.”
According to her, she took in for him but had a miscarriage. He then asked her to adopt a baby, which would be his and claim that the baby was born in Canada but that the baby also died.
She further claimed that he made her swear to an oath of loyalty but she eventually caught him with another woman.
She said, “I became infuriated and he became furious and warned me never to visit him again, that he is no longer interested in the relationship.
“I reminded him of the oath he forced me to take that no man must have any relationship with me again and the promise to be giving N20m every six months, buy me a property in a choice area, buy a brand new car every six months, which he had never fulfilled.
“I told him that I would tell the whole world how he has ruined my life and deceived me out of my marriage where I had four children.”
Kamalu told the court that this was why the lawmaker used the police to arrest her on May 27, 2019 and detained for seven days.
When Chima was contacted on the telephone on Saturday evening for his reaction to the rape and N20m allegations, he said, “I’m inside a court now, can we talk later? I’m inside a court.”

Just in: Eight babies killed in horrifying hospital fire
The blaze ripped through the maternity unit at a hospital in eastern Algeria before dawn today.
'We managed to rescue 11 babies, 107 women and 28 staff after the 3:50am fire in the hospital in Oued Souf', spokesoman Captain Nassim Bernaoui said.
He added: 'Unfortunately we regret the deaths of eight babies, some from burns and others from smoke inhalation.'
Oued Souf is the capital of El Oued Province in Algeria and about 500 kilometres (300 miles) southeast of Algiers.
Dozens of fire engines were deployed to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear, Mr Bernaoui said.

Texas man wanted by police for divorcing his wife without telling her
Paul Nixon, 51, of Harris County, in Texas, allegedly forged his wife’s signature as well as that of a public notary to make it look as if his spouse had consented to the divorce.
According to court records, Nixon filed for divorce on February 15 – ironically, the day after Valentine’s Day – and a judge signed an order that made the divorce official in April.
A Harris County constable told reporters that his ex-wife only learned that Nixon had divorced her in may, when she confronted him about his unusual money spending.
“She was very surprised,” Constable Mark Herman told the New York Post. “She started finding things showing that he was spending money on jewelry, so she confronted him and he told her that they were actually divorced.”
On May 14, the shocked woman called police to report that her husband had filed and obtained a final divorce from her without her even knowing about it. After investigating the allegations, officials found that Paul Nixon had forget official documents to start and finalize the divorce proceedings without his ex-spouse’s knowledge.
“We rarely see something like this,” Herman said. “In this particular case, the gentleman decided to go through a divorce but the only problem is, he left his wife out of the process. And that’s a violation of the law here in Texas.”
On the same day they were alerted by Nixon’s ex, deputies in Harris County filed a motion to annul the order signed by the judge in April and retracting the forged paperwork, thus reinstating the couple’s marriage. Officially, the couple is still legally married, although 51-year-old Nixon hasn’t been in touch with his wife in months.
Paul Nixon is wanted on charges of aggravated perjury, and faces 10 years in prison if convicted. A no-bond warrant has been issued in his name, but he has yet to be apprehended.

Video: 20-year-old gets HIV 'in exchange' for exams fee
Akosua, not her real name, needed some money to resit her West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) final exams after she failed in two core subjects.
A man, twice her age, offered to help but demanded a “night under the sheets”.
The under-pressured 20-year-old Akosua succumbed to the demand from her helper but little did she know that her benefactor was HIV positive.
“Later on he invited me to his house, I went to his house, I did not know what came and we had s3xual intercourse,” Akosua recounted.
Now she is one of the over 335,000 people living with the virus in Ghana. She has been sharing her story with JoyNews Fostina Sarfo in their latest hotline documentary ‘’MY STATUS.’’
