Tyga hints Kylie Jenner is lying about Travis Scott split

Tyga has broken his silence over ex girlfriend Kylie Jenner 's split from Travis Scott .

The rapper threw shade at the billionaire makeup mogul and hinted that she was lying about what really happened with that 2am recording studio date.

Jenner already took to Twitter to confirm she and Travis had broken up, writing: "The internet makes everything 100 times more dramatic than what it really is.

"There was no "2am date with Tyga". You see me drop two of my friends off at a studio that he happened to be at."

But Tyga responded less than an hour after the Kardashian sister released her statement.

The Taste hitmaker simply posted a blue cap emoji, which can symbolise someone is "cappin", or lying.

Cappin is defined by the  Urban Dictionary  as "frontin" - saying stuff that isn't true.

However billionaire Kylie insists she was simply providing a lift for her friends to the studio.

Journalist Agba Jalingo arrives court in handcuff

Detained Nigerian journalist, Agba Jalingo, on Friday morning arrived at the Federal High Court, Calabar, for a ruling on his bail application in a handcuff.

Mr Jalingo, the publisher of the online CrossRiverWatch, has been in prison in Calabar.

He is charged with treason over a report about an alleged diversion of N500 million by the Cross River governor, Ben Ayade.

The journalist, whose arrest and trial has attracted outrage from human rights groups across Nigeria, arrived at the court premises at about 9:18 a.m. in a green coloured van belonging to the Calabar Prison. He was surrounded by four prison officers.

He wore a black T-shirt with the inscription “Journalism Is Not A Crime”, a blue jeans trousers, and a flip-flop.

Mr Jalingo smiled and waved at a handful of journalists who stood by the court premises to show solidarity with him.

He stretched forth his hand and collected a green-coloured muffler from Jonathan Ugbal, the news editor of CrossRiverWatch, who is facing a separate trial, also in Calabar, over the #RevolutionNow protest.

The muffler has the inscription “Great Nigeria” and “I Love Nigeria” on it.

Mr Jalingo, handcuffed to another inmate, was led into the courtroom by the prison officials.

Arrested on August 22, Mr Jalingo spent 34 days in police detention before he was arraigned on September 25.

Facebook removes accounts from Nigeria, UAE, others

Facebook has removed hundreds of accounts, pages and groups from its social network platforms that the company says were involved in coordinated inauthentic behaviour.

The tech giant said it removed a total of 443 Facebook and 125 Instagram accounts, as well as 200 pages and 76 groups originating in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Nigeria and Indonesia.

In a blog post Thursday, Facebook said that one of the operations was sharing local news in targeted countries and promoting content about UAE as well as criticism of Qatar, Turkey and Iran.

A smaller operation was involved in “domestic-focused coordinated inauthentic behaviour in Indonesia,” with fake accounts sharing content in support of the independence movement in West Papua province, while others posted criticism of it.

A third operation, originating in Egypt, focused on Somalia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen, Tunisia, Iran, Turkey, Lebanon and Qatar, the social media company said.

The fake accounts “typically posted about domestic news and political topics including content in support of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

The fake account also made criticism of Qatar, Iran, and Turkey; and Yemen’s southern separatist movement.”

Over 7 million accounts followed one or more of the pages and some 3,000 accounts joined at least one of the groups.

Around 193,000 people followed one or more of the Instagram accounts, the company said.

Government may sack workers to meet minimum wage demand – Ngige

Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, on Thursday, said that the demand of labour over the implementation of the new minimum wage would cost the Federal Government N580 billion annually.

Ngige said that such adjustment, in line with labour’s demand, was not sustainable as the government would have to lay off some workers to be able to meet their demands.

The minister said government cannot afford that kind of money now, adding that the focus of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is on workers on grade level 1 step 1 and level 6 step 1 where the impact of the wage would be felt by workers.

The Minister disclosed these on Thursday in Abuja when the leadership of United Labour Congress (ULC) led by its President, Mr Joe Ajeiro, paid him a courtesy at the ministry.

While urging workers to show more understanding to the plight of the federal government, Ngige said the current economic realities, may make the new wage bill not feasible.

He said that the government was avoiding a situation where it would have to lay off workers, adding that this would add to the burden of the citizenry.

Ngige appealed to the labour to accept the consequential adjustment from levels 7 to 17, adding that the federal government had only three months left to implement the new minimum wage.

He said the government would not tell the labour leadwra what it could not pay, stating that no worker deserved to be owed salary.

The minister said: “There is no problem with disagreement in the labour system, when can sometimes disagree to later agree, on the national minimum wage, it will translate to an additional N580billion if government agrees to the consequential adjustment labour is proposing.

“Government cannot afford that kind of money now, besides the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is more interested in the lowest cadre of workers which are those on grade level 1 step 1 and level 6 step 1, these are the ones who the N30,000 will have greater impact on.

“Government has done their own homework and brought out what they can use to defend this consequential adjustment. Grade 1 to 6 does not have any problem, but 7 to 14 band and 15 to 17 band this is where we have the problem.

“Once you finish a minimum wage and go into consequential adjustment you are trying to reach a collective bargaining agreement and once you are trying to reach and once you are the principle of ability to pay comes in.

“So if you push government to go and accede to an increment which its resources cannot accommodate, you are indirectly asking them to retrench workers so that the few that are remaining will get this big big money.

“We don’t want that, from 2015 the president has made it clear that he is not out to inflict pains on Nigerians and that he does not want to create unemployment but even at that our increase in population is galloping and our resources is not consequentialy increasing to meet up that is why we have a lot of unemployed youths on the street today.

“We need to arrive at an agreement as soon as possible so that we can use the 2019 budget allocation to deframe this consequential adjustment because it will be bad if we are unable to do it and we finish this financial year by December because the budget circle is going to return to January/December 2020 so we we have three months only before this recurrent funds as well are swept back into government treasury, that is the law.”

Okorocha calls for drastic reduction in the number of legislators in the National Assembly

The cost-saving campaign of the Federal Government won a convert in Senator Rochas Okorocha, who, on Thursday, called for a drastic reduction in the number of legislators in the National Assembly.

Okorocha, representing Imo West, proposed the reduction as part of efforts to reduce cost of governance while contributing to debate on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP) at plenary.

According to him, states can do with a senator and three House of Representatives members each.

The former Imo governor gave his views in a chat with the press corps after he raised the issue on the floor of the Red Chamber.

Okorocha regretted that the nation can no longer generate adequate to fund its development, hence the need to reform the country in unusual terms.

The senator plans to sponsor a bill to that effect in the Senate at the appropriate time.

He said: “I do not know what we are doing differently today in the ninth senate from what you did in the eighth Senate and the Seventh Senate and other previous Senate.

“If what we are doing today is similar to what have been doing in the past then be rest assured that the product will be the same.

“Mr. Senate President, change your ways, change your styles, let’s change our style and if we change our style, we get a new result. How do we change our style?

“We are the pivot upon which the wheel of government must rotate. Sometimes we blame the executive and judiciary but it is what we give to the executive they will do. They are waiting for us.

“The failure of the budget or the success of the budget depends on this. What do we have differently? The problem that we have now is money but we do not have money for our needs and to support the needs of Nigeria which is to create jobs and put food on the table.”

“This arises from the fact that we depend on one source of income called oil, this same oil constitute over 60 per cent of our revenue apart from Customs and 90 per cent of our foreign reserve.

“This same oil is static and fast reducing while the population of Nigeria is increasing in geometrical progression. So oil cannot meet it.

“A people like us should look inward. So, let us cut our coats according to our available material not according to our size.

“Let me give you a typical example on how to run this year’s budget to achieve our target equal.

“Here we have three senators per state. In that National Assembly over there (House of Reps) there are over 360 eligible human beings in this small building.

“This country must begin to make sacrifices and cut down on the cost of governance we must start it, painful as it may be.

“Now our Constitution provides that we have three Senators per state. What will the three Senators per state be doing that one Senator per state cannot do?

“What are we doing in the House of Representatives with over 360 members and each of these persons create demands on the system. We must cut down on the cost of governance.

“What we need to have under the present ugly situation which our Constitution forced on us is to have one Senator per state and three members of the House of Representatives per state.

“And secondly the budget should be skewed to fund the productive sector of the economy. Government is business,” he said.

Okorocha quoted Senate President Ahmed Lawan as saying in his response: “Your contribution could be translated into a bill if you want a state to have only a senator, it requires a constitutional amendment.

“So, you have the opportunity to present a bill for the amendment of the relevant sections of the Constitution which provides for three senators per state.

“I think my personal opinion is that the National Assembly and the legislators are tasked to think deep and wide on how we can increase revenue no matter how big or small and prudently and efficiently applied.

“That requires total, comprehensive and holistic oversight of the executive arm of government. This we must do and we must not fail in that.”

3 injured as IPOB allegedly protest in South Africa during President Buhari's visit

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday claimed responsibility for protests outside the Union Buildings in Pretoria, South Africa’s seat of presidency, during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit.

It claimed that its members were attacked by South African police.

Policemen reportedly fired rubber bullets at a small group of Nigerians who were protesting against the state visit.

According to South Africa’s Sunday Times, at least three people were injured when police fired the rubber bullets.

It said the protesters claimed that South African President Cyril Ramaphosa was not meeting the real President of Nigeria.

The protesters were said to have claimed the man meeting Ramaphosa was not Buhari but an impostor.

Outlawed IPOB Secretary Emma Powerful, in a statement, accused Nigeria and South African governments of sponsoring the attack.

He said the group’s leader Nnamdi Kanu would hold an emergency broadcast to “expose the real reason” for Buhari’s visit which “was kept away from the public”.

IPOB said the alleged attack was “a thoroughly ugly and distasteful development that pales the white apartheid regime into insignificance in terms of its brutality and incredulity”.

Estimated billing is fraud, shameful - Gbajabiamila

House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has said Nigeria is the only country where electricity consumers are made to pay for the service through estimated billing.

He described the situation as shameful.

The Speaker said the estimated billing being used by electricity distribution companies (DisCos) was the biggest fraud in the history of the country.

Gbajabiamila bared his mind yesterday when he led the debate during the sitting of the Committee of the Whole on a bill to amend the Electricity Power Sector Reform Act 2005 to prohibit and criminalise estimated billing by electricity distribution companies and provide for compulsory installation of pre-paid meters to all power consumers in the country.

The bill, the Speaker said, was first introduced during the Eighth Assembly, which passed it unanimously, but was not signed into law.

He stressed that the wilful estimation of bill by DisCos to their consumers should not be condoned.

Gbajabiamila said the estimated billing system was not supported by any scientific or arithmetic calculation but whimsically done by the DisCos to suit their own purpose at the expense of Nigerians.

The Speaker said many Nigerians constantly complain about the DisCos allocating figures to them in the name of estimated billings, adding that this action affects all categories of Nigerians, irrespective of status or social standing.

He said: “When they (DisCos) undertake to embark on the exercise, you agreed to provide meters. But today, the story is different and Nigerians are suffering from the inefficiency of these distribution companies.”

Gbajabiamila urged the House to support the bill and ensure its expeditious passage.

Royal Family's 'golden rule' for application forms if you want to work at the Palace

For many people, working for the Royal Family and spending your days behind-the-scenes with the Queen, Meghan Markle , Kate, Harry and Wills would be the perfect job.

Even though The Firm doesn't pay particularly well, many of the roles offer tempting benefits including accommodation in a real-life palace.

Roles at Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Clarence House and the other royal households are always extremely popular, but luckily someone who successfully applied for a job has revealed the secret to getting through the door.

Princess Beatrice and Eugenie's former secretary James Upsher has shared a number of tips and tricks for anyone applying to work for one of the world's most famous families.

During his four years as assistant private secretary, James helped to organise the Queen's 90th birthday and was involved in the logistics for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's oversees tours.

Writing on his blog, he explains that it's important to stress your connections to the Commonwealth to make yourself stand out from hundreds of other applicants.

He writes: "The Household serves all the countries where Her Majesty is Head of State and the Commonwealth, so your understanding and connection to parts of the world beyond the UK that connect with the Royal Family are hugely valuable to the organisation and you should stress these in your application.

"Sorry Americans, you opted out of that one."

He also says it's worth mentioning the values you share with the Royal Family, so it's worth a look through their patronages.

“If you were a Scout or a Guide, there's a Royal Patron for that. If you ran a marathon for Cancer Research UK, there's a Royal Patron for that.

“Pretty much every positive social activity in the UK - and many beyond - have an association with Royal Family and mentioning the ones you're involved with – and that you know about the connection - can demonstrate the values you share with the Household.”

But there is one thing you should never write on your application form.

He writes: "This is the golden rule. I'd bet in my pile of 500 applications for a role, around 100 will have ruled themselves out in the very first line of the application with the words 'I have always dreamed of working for the Royal Family.'

"I’m afraid the recruiter for that admin job doesn't share your excitement at the pending fulfilment of childhood fantasy, they have hundreds of letters to send out and want someone who will be really really good at office admin.

"Of course, you should have a line mentioning your great respect for the institution, but play this one very cool to stay out of the 'no' pile."

Ed Sheeran's tattoo artist says star's inkings are "s***" and lost him clients

He has become as well known for his quirky tattoos as his soulful singing voice.

But Ed Sheeran's extensive collection of body art has been branded 's**t' by his tattoo artist who revealed he has lost clients as a result of his work on the popstar.

The Shape Of You singer - whose 60 strong collection of tattoos includes cartoon penguin Pingu, a Heinz Ketchup label and a gingerbread man- has spent more than 40 hours getting inked by Derby-based tattooist Kevin Paul.

And after Ed's new Heinz Ketchup ink got fans raging, Ed's long-time pal Kevin weighed in on the Grammy winner's colourful collection in an interview with The Mirror.

He said: 'I agree with most of it, his tattoos aren't very good. And I take the p**s out of Ed all the time, when I'm with him, that they are s**t.

Discussing Ed and Harry Styles' decision to get matching Pingu tattoos in honour of their favourite childhood cartoon, he said: 'It does look s*** but it's what they wanted, it's a personal memory and it means something to them.'

Kevin, who has been personally responsible for more than 40 of the Galway Girl singer's tattoos, revealed he had lost clients as a result of working with the popstar.

Kevin said his work with Ed 'changed things' as he was an award-winning artist beforehand, with a specialism in 3D work.

But he admitted that client base 'died off' when he began doing 'Pingu and f*****g gingerbread men on popstars' - although said the doorways opened for him are now much bigger.

He has now worked with other superstars such as Rihanna, Harry Styles and Cara Delevingne.

Kevin added that he has 'zero regrets' over working with Ed as its been one of the 'best and worse things' to ever happen to his career.

Miley Cyrus introduces 'potential new partner' as she moves on from Kaitlynn Carter

Former Disney star Miley got up close to the scary looking models that had grey skin, gaunt faces and gooey eyes and puckered up to a giant Frankenstein doll.

Staying true to her confident self, she even stuck her tongue out as she perched for snaps next to the horror figures.

Excited students exchange high-fives after r3ping '10 out of 10 drunk' woman in club

Two post graduate students were caught on CCTV laughing and exchanging high-fives after r3ping a "ten out of ten drunk" young woman in a nightclub maintenance room, a court heard yesterday.

Just six minutes after the 25-year-old woman met Ferdinando Orlando, 25, and Lorenzo Costanzo, 26, at the Toy Room Club under the London Palladium they were having s3x in the side room near the toilets, the jury were told.

Orlando, of St George's Square, Pimlico, is currently studying a post-graduate degree in International Law and Costanzo is taking a post-graduate masters degree in Business & Management.

Both have pleaded not guilty to two counts of r3ping the petite woman in the early hours of February 26 2017, insisting she consented after swapping kisses with them on the dance floor.

'Prosecutor Allison Hunter QC told the Isleworth Crown Court jury the nightclub CCTV will show the three meeting: "They can be seen to pass her from one to the other, each of them taking it in turns to kiss her."

Orlando then leads the woman to the maintenance room as she holds onto his waist, with Costanzo behind, steering her as she leans into him, the court heard.

"I was in the middle of them so it was hard to get away from them," the woman told the jury. "They were the support for me walking."

All three emerge sixteen minutes later, with the woman sandwiched between the defendants.

"Orlando can be seen to re-arrange her dress, which was twisted and raised at the front, to cover her modesty," said the prosecutor.

"The pair propel her towards the ladies' toilet, where they open the door and put her inside and turn and run down the corridor.

"They ran straight up the stairs to the outside, where they can be seen hugging, high-fiving each other, strong arming, laughing and looking at what appear to be images or videos on a mobile phone.

"They engage in gestures simulating s3xual intercourse and oral intercourse and appear to laugh and congratulate each other.

"It is the prosecution case that she was not able to consent to what she sustained at the will of these two defendants," added Ms Hunter.

The complainant maintained she could remember nothing and the lawyer suggested the CCTV outside the room revealed her true feelings.

"You appear to be smiling. You gave them the impression you were having a good time."

The trial continues.

She said that 1,627 of the 2,474 children cleared of association with armed groups had been reintegrated with their families and communities.

Walker said: “Although we have made progress for the successful reintegration of children cleared of association with armed groups, a lot still need to be done. There are still children in the ranks and file of armed groups. Children should belong to their families. We call on all parties in the conflict to stop recruiting and using children in any role. We will continue until no children are being used in the conflict,” she said.
