Woman collapses on TV after over-zealous hairdresser cuts off her hair in reality contest

The victim of an over-zealous hairdresser has been hailed for her 'relatable' reaction when she fainted on TV.The Turkish show Kuaförüm Sensin, which translates to 'you're my hairdresser', is a reality contest pitting makeup artists and hair stylists against one another to showcase their skills

On one of the more memorable episodes, hairdresser Bilal Ağın wanted to cut his model's hair in support of the 'Let My Hair Be Your Hair' project for cancer survivors.

The only problem with the thoughtful gesture was that he didn't run the idea past his model İlayda beforehand.

Having walked on to the show with hair flowing all the way down her back, Bilal's scissors quickly reduced her locks to a shoulder length cut, as reported by the Daily Mail .

As the hairdresser beams clutching years worth of precious growth, the model reaches to run her hands through her hair, unaware of what has happened.

It seems to take her a few brushes before reality fully sets in as to where her hair now ends and she begins to break down as the three judges look on stunned by her unexpected reaction.

As the other contestants pretend unconvincingly not to have seen it all go down, İlayda throws off her robe in protest as Bilal smiles awkwardly at the floor.

The model then attempts to make a quick exit away from the glare of the cameras, but doesn't make it to the door before collapsing into the arms of one of the show's assistants, who calls for help.

The whole time Bilal stands watching on speechless with his hands planted on his hips.

The clip quickly racked up more than 12 million views on Twitter where it was posted with the caption: "I'm SCREAMINNN why is that so relatable."

Many users were quick to share in her pain.

Photo: Three Okada robbers arrested in Lagos

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, have arrested three suspected okada robbers in Ikorodu area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The suspects, Emmanuel Michael, 24, who rode on a motorcyle, in company of two other accomplices; Moses Ogeh, 27 and Ojonugwa Ojomeje, 29, were arrested in Ita-Maga area of Ikorodu after hijacking a motor bike popularly called ‘okada’ from a cyclist while impersonating police officers.

Two of the suspects: Ojomeje and Ogeh were caught in MOPOL vest and police vest and fez cap while trying to escape after collecting an ‘okada’ from a rider in Ikorodu.

The trio, operating on Michael’s ‘okada’ in the area, had around 10:00 p.m. accosted another ‘okada’ rider, stopped him and dispossessed him of his motorcycle. They were said to have told the owner that they were police officers from a nearby police station.

The victim on releasing the ‘okada’ to the robbers walked few steps away before crying out for help. This drew the attention of passers-by and the operatives of Rapid Response Squad in the area. They were chased and arrested few metres from the scene.

According to the Ojomeje, the leader of the gang, “ in July 2019, men in police uniform collected my ‘okada’ in Ikorodu Bus Stop. They told me they were Taskforce team from Ebute Police Station. They advised me to meet them there while they took the ‘okada’ away. It was after 10:00 p.m.

“I went from Ebute Police Station to Ijede, Mola and Ladigboye Police Post, there was no trace of them. It was my only means of livelihood. It was exactly a week I got the ‘okada’ on hired purchase at N280,000.

I paid only N40,000 with a balance of N240,000 to settle the owner, Chinedu. I searched for it in all the surrounding police stations but there was no record of it.

“In order to pay the balance because Chinedu couldn’t take the excuse, I borrowed my friends bike, and bit by bit, I paid another N40,000. Because the owner was deeply on my neck for the payment, I sought the assistance of my friend to help me hijack another ‘okada.”

He continued: “I had a MOPOL vest at home thrown away by a former neighbour in Obalende. I appealed to Michael to borrow me his sister’s husband police uniform. The plan was to get a motor bike for me and later on, I would pay them too after I might have finished paying my debt.

“While I put on the MOPOL vest, Ogeh, a food stuff seller put on the police vest and fez cap. At around 10:00 p.m, the three of us set out using Michael’s ‘okada’ to Ita Maga. We collected a bike but we were arrested”.

Protesting vociferously to Ojomeje’s explanation of their roles, Michael and Ogeh stated that they were charmed and made to take an oath by their ring leader. They added that they were offered kolanut to eat after Ojomeje had promised them a successful outing.

The suspects have been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

Reacting to the development, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Muazu Zubairu stated that the police would not relent in its efforts at bringing to book criminals who impersonate the police to give the force a bad name.

Aisha Buhari Confirms Video Of Her Ranting Inside Aso Rock

Aisha, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday confirmed a viral video that showed her ranting about a locked door that restricted her access right inside the presidential villa.

Mrs Buhari returned to Nigeria at about 4.30am on Sunday, after having been away on holiday in the United Kingdom for some weeks, fueling serious speculations.

In a chat with newsmen after arriving the federal capital, Aisha said she was the one in the footage. It was gathered that Aisha got angry after a disagreement with Mamman Daura, the president’s cousin, some months ago.

In the clip, Aisha said: 'This is the villa. We have over 200 soldiers guarding us, over 200 policemen. Why do you have to lock this door? What for, what for? Enough is enough. Let me know when you are leaving this place, let me know.'

Speaking, the president’s wife said: “The video was an old video. The event happened. It was me…actually, it happened in the villa.”

The First Lady, however, said she was happy to be home, despite all the issues.

Mum left with £50,000 debt after 'tenants from hell' destroyed her property and threatened her

A single mum has shared shocking images of extensive damage to her Spanish home after she claims squatters left her with £50,000 debt.

Helen France, 46, from Rotherham, claims her dream Spanish property in Alicante became a "living nightmare" when she got her property back from squatters to discover extensive damage.

The home owner claims she initially lost £10,000 on unpaid rent and bills, solicitors fees and damage to her property.

However, she says that since her house was returned, her debts have grown.

Ms France said that the "tenants from hell" entered her home last year, but have now left.

But the extent of damage means the single mum-of-one may have to lose the property completely destroying her dreams of one day moving there permanently.

She purchased the property in the Orihuela province in the Spanish resort in December 2015, initially using it as a holiday home before she decided to let it out in January 2018 to save enough money to enable her to move there permanently.

She purchased the home abroad with her life savings and intended it to be a place of solace and eventually inheritance to gift to her daughter Hope, 21.

However, the mum claims her dreams have turned to dust after the tenants destroyed her home - throwing furniture out of windows, breaking walls and flooring and accumulating unpaid electricity bills of more than 250 euros per month.

Ms France moved to Alicante full-time in December last year and assumed she could move into the property, but claims months of eviction notices went ignored and she claims physical threats were made against her.

"They threatened to kill me, even leaving a knife wedged in the sofa with a threat on my life," she said.

"The entire situation has left me beyond heartbroken - the house isn't even habitable at the moment.

"I've always been independent but this situation - it's truly brought me to my knees.

"I was a trusting person, but I lost everything.

"I was even put on medication as I was anxious, battling depression, all whilst trying to live the dream I'd saved up for for so long."

The single mum said that her lawyer and letting agent have reach dead ends against Spanish law because of its protection for tenants, which has left her no option but to put the eviction notice through the courts at her own expense.

The touching story of baby born with no eyes and abandoned my mom who now needs a home

A 'smiley' baby boy born without eyes is in search of a loving home after being abandoned by his young mother.

Little Alexander K - known as Sasha - is otherwise healthy but will never see due to a rare condition that only two other babies in the world have.

His mum was raised in an orphanage and decided before his birth to give him up because she did not feel confident at being able to provide the help he would need.

A nurse who is now caring for the six-month-old tot said: “He is no different to other children, he plays and smiles just like any healthy baby.

“He loves playing and adores swimming.

"He is a very cheerful baby indeed.”

Enchanting Sasha is described as ‘unique’ because most babies born with the condition also have multiple other ailments.

The Russian boy has two benign cysts on his forehead, which soon will be removed.

He is believed to suffer in extreme form from rare SOX2 anophthalmia syndrome which afflicts one in a quarter of a million.

Russian medics say Sasha is one of only three babies registered in the world with no eyeballs at all.

Tomsk doctor Tatiana Rudnikovich said: “Sasha is going through all regular check ups and tests like any other baby of his age.

“He is doing well.”

However, medics say there is currently "no chance” that Sasha will ever see.

His adoption listing says the boy is “a peaceful, smiling baby”.

“He smiles back as soon as he hears familiar voices.

“His mother signed his refusal papers in the maternity hospital.

“There is no information about Alexander’s father and there is a ‘dash’ in his birth certificate where it should have been a name of the father.

“Alexander is up for adoption or foster care.”

The child is initially up for adoption with Russian parents but if no-one suitable comes forward, he could go to foreign parents.

Boxer Patrick Day undergoes emergency brain surgery after brutal knockout by Conwell

Boxer Patrick Day has reportedly undergone emergency brain surgery after suffering a seizure following a brutal knockout in bout against Charles Conwell.

Day was taken to a hospital after getting viciously knocked out in the 10th round by Conwell in Chicago on Saturday night.

According to ESPN, Day was in a coma after an emergency operation on his brain, although it is not known if it was medically induced.

Day was fighting at super welterweight on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk's heavyweight debut win over Chazz Witherspoon by TKO.

Conwell landed a right hand early in the 10th. That caused Day to stumble and seconds later Conwell landed a left hook that knocked Day to the canvas.

Day, from Freeport, New York, was instantly knocked out and it wasn't clear if he regained consciousness.

He was treated by a doctor in the ring and then was rushed off on a stretcher by paramedics and transported to the hospital. Day was knocked down twice earlier in the fight.

Later, DAZN reported Day never regained consciousness and began having seizures when he entered the ambulance and he was using a breathing tube at the hospital.

'I had a chance to speak to the doctor, he told us Patrick never woke up on his way to the ambulance,' DAZN's Claudia Trejos said.

'He started seizing on his way to the ambulance, and he has been taken to hospital.

'Our thoughts and prayers are with Patrick Day and his family.'

Adeboye hits Federal Government on border closure, VAT increase, others

The federal government, as far as Adeboye is concerned, should    refocus its plans and programmes toward initiatives that would lessen the suffering and burdens of Nigerians.

He spoke last Sunday at the Special Independence Day Celebration of the church at its headquarters, RCCG, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

The programme tagged Arise attracted worshippers and traditional rulers led by the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, His royal highness, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

He further pointed out the closure of borders to importation of rice was ill-conceived because it has made the stable unavailable to most Nigerians.

Adeboye said as the country celebrates at 59, the federal government should henceforth focus on initiating policies that would lessen the sufferings and burdens of Nigerians.

Such policies, he said, should have the capability to move the country out of doldrums, make her arise and pitch her tent with comity of nations.

Speaking through the Assistant General Overseer, Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, Adeboye emphasised a lot of policies of government are not helping Nigerians.

He lamented many Nigerians were suffering when the wealth of their nation are just in few hands who have refused to let go.

The respected preacher also criticised how banks are fixing interest rate, which he described as one of the highest in the world, saying the development was making business environment unfavourable for Nigerians.

He bemoaned the condition of commoners, saying it was insensitive for the federal government to consider bringing back toll gates when the roads were in bad conditions.

Oba Gbadebo appreciated God for the independence celebration, saying that God has helped us a lot as Nigeria has remained one the federation that has remain strong and indivisible since independence in 1960.

He appealed to Nigeria leaders to consolidate on the success and achievements made so far in Nigeria by working for the interest of the  people rather than their personal interest and gain.

He restated that leaders in position of authority are put there by God and will one day give account of their stewardship to him.

Almost 800 women and children affiliated with Islamic state flee camp they are being held

Almost 800 women affiliated with Islamic State and their children have fled a camp where they were being held in northern Syria after shelling by Turkish forces.

The region's Kurdish-led administration said in a statement that 785 IS-affiliated foreigners had fled the camp at Ain Issa.

In apparent reference to Turkish-backed rebels, the Kurdish-led administration said 'mercenaries' attacked the camp where 'Daesh elements' - a reference to Islamic State - in turn attacked camp guards and opened the gates.

Images shared by the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights appear to picture people running away from the Ain Issa.

It is believed the ISIS 'matchmaker' Tooba Gondal, 25, from Walthamstow, north London, was in the camp with her two children after she was caught trying to get to Turkey following the fall of Baghuz.

Turkey's cross-border attack in northern Syria against Kurdish forces widened to target the town of Suluk which was hit by Ankara's Syrian rebel allies. There were conflicting accounts on the outcome of the fighting.

Turkey is facing threats of possible sanctions from the US unless it calls off the incursion. Two of its NATO allies, Germany and France, have said they are halting weapons exports to Turkey. The Arab League has denounced the operation.

Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has said plans are underway for an Endowment Fund to defray the cost of pediatric surgeries for needy babies of Ayinke House at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.

She spoke during a courtesy visit to LASUTH on Saturday as part of activities heralding the 2019 National Women Conference organised by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO). Dr Sanwo-Olu is the Chairman of the Committee.

The first lady said it was important to make the right investment in healthcare delivery to play up the health of the people, and also support the needy.

According to her, the present administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had already identified healthcare as a major sector to be massively supported in line with efforts to ensure a greater Lagos.

“We decided to do our CSR here; this is Ayinke House in LASUTH. We are hoping that we would send the message down to the people that there is need for us to invest in our patients, as well as invest in our doctors and nurses so that they can deliver good healthcare to our people in Lagos State which is one of the key pillars of the development agenda of the government of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a greater Lagos.

Benue State Polytechnic lecturer arraigned for allegedly r3ping a 13-year old girl to death

Senior lecturer with Benue Sate Polytechnic Ugbokolo Andrew Ogbuja has been arraigned before a state High Court in Makurdi for allegedly r-ping a 13-year-old girl, Ochanya Ogbanje to death.

Ogbuja’s arraignment came nearly a year after Ochanya’s death on October 17, 2018 from complications said to have resulted from her prolonged r-pe by him and his son, Victor, who is now at large.

The accused who was arraigned before Justice Augustine Ityonyiman of the State High Court 9, however pleaded not guilty when the four-count charge bordering on r-pe and murder was read to him.

The prosecuting lawyer, Mr. P. M. Ukande, Deputy Director, Public Prosecution, Benue State Ministry of Justice, consequently prayed the court to remand the accused and fix a date for proper trial having plead not guilty to all the charges preferred against him.

Counsel to the accused, Mr. Abel Onoja, did not oppose the application for trial and therefore urged the court to make an order to compel the prosecution to ensure that medical experts named in the suit are physically brought before the court to testify during commencement of full trial.

“My Lord, I have a motion which seeks to compel the prosecution to produce medical experts who have been mentioned in the proof of evidence to be put on notice as to their physical appearance in court, so that they can testify when the trial commences,” Onoja pleaded.

The prosecuting counsel vehemently opposed the application brought before the judge saying “it was wrong and premature for the defence counsel to come up with such application hence full trial was yet to commenced.”

The trial judge, Justice Augustine Ityonyiman, while agreeing with the prosecution, overruled the defendant’s application, saying that “it is premature.”

Subsequently, the court adjourned the suit to November 14, 2019, for commencement of trial.

Shock As $1.7M Is Found Inside Maina's Niger Republic Home

Nigeria's northern neighbour, Niger Republic, has blown the lid off $1.7m cash found in an apartment in its capital Niamey. The Nigerien authorities tipped off Abuja about the cash found in the apartment believed to be owned by ex-Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina.

At N359 to $1, the 41.7m is about N610.3m.

There is suspicion that the cash is part of the money allegedly stolen by Maina who is currently in security custody following his arrest recently by the Department of Security Services (DSS) in an Abuja hotel along with his son, Faisal.

He had allegedly sneaked into the country from Dubai apparently to avoid arrest. Maina is under investigation for alleged mismanagement of over N24billion pension funds while in office.

Twenty-nine assets worth N1billion also suspected to be owned by him have already been seized.

The Nation gathered authoritatively that the security agencies may also probe Maina on why one of his nephews, Sadiq Abdullahi Ismaila, was almost tortured to death over how $1.7million got missing from a safe house.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is on the trail of Sadiq Abdullahi Ismaila, who released a video clip detailing his alleged travail over the missing cash.

Sources said relatives are mounting pressure on Sadiq to go underground to save Maina.

Investigation by our correspondent revealed that about $1.7million cash belonging to a Nigerian was traced found in an apartment in Niamey by security agents.

The Nigerien Government alerted Nigeria’s Federal Government of the strange discovery of the cash, following which Abuja directed the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) to investigate.

Preliminary investigation by the NIA and the EFCC suggests that Maina knows about it because the apartment in question used to serve as one of his hideouts in Niger Republic.

The discovery of cash in Niamey, according to The Nation, coincided with the alleged disappearance of $1.7million cash from Maina’s safe house.

Investigators suspect that the pain of losing the $1.7million may have forced Maina to sneak into the country to look for the cash before the law caught up with him.

An authoritative source said: “The $1.7m was stashed in an apartment in Niger Republic which was being occupied by a Nigerian.

“So far, a trail of the cash by security agencies has linked Maina to the cash because the apartment was alleged to be his hideout.

“Detectives are working round the clock to uncover where the suspected pension cash was sourced and how it was ferried to Niger Republic.

“One of the clues being probed was the allegation that Faisal Maina (the son of the ex-pension reform task force chairman) moved the cash from Nigeria to the Republic of Niger.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “Investigators have also discovered that Maina allegedly influenced the arrest and torture of one of his nephews, Sadiq Abdullahi Ismaila over a missing $1.7m.

“Sadiq , who later released a video clip on his ordeal, asked Maina to turn his searchlight on his son, Faisal and wife.”

In the clip, Sadiq said: “I am a nephew to the ex-pension boss, Abdulrasheed Maina. Well, a lot has been happening lately. For those of you that know me very well, a lot has been happening. I know some of you know everything that has been going on and I haven’t come out to say a word about it yet.

“But I figure it is high time I come out to speak about it . Why? It is because I felt for the safety of the people around me, especially my family and others like that.

“Well, I was abducted by Abdulrasheed Maina (my uncle) for three days and I was tortured for something I didn’t do. He accused me of taking $1.7million of his which his son took from his house. His son and his wife too,

“I have been paying for $1.7million that is not with me. The funny thing is that this man has been sending people after me, my family and friends. And for me, I don’t really care because I have seen it all. There is nothing more he can do to me because I have already endured three good days of torture from somebody I look up to.

“He is somebody I point out to be a father figure to me; somebody who is the immediate brother to my mum. Let me make this video short. Abdulrasheed Maina, if you think your money is with me, I told you, go and meet your wife and your son.

“The $1.7million, you said you got it while you were washing toilets. I don’t know where they pay in dollars for washing toilets. I don’t know where you got the money from.

“But I know for sure the way you launder money and you know I know that. That is why you wanted me dead. I just survived because it was not my time when you asked those hoodlums, claiming to be DSS operatives to torture me for good three days. I almost died but it was not my time.

“For you now to be sending people because I have been quiet about it. I have been quiet about it because your mum (our grandmother) begged me to keep the issue as a family issue.”

Already, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has traced additional 29 assets in the country, worth N1, 054,000, 000 to Maina.

Some foreign assets have been located in the United Arab Emirates and other jurisdictions.
