A Nigerian, Pastor Aramide Ojo, has been arrested by Thai police for defrauding 3 Thai women of 1.5million Baht($49,500).
Aramide Ojo scammed the women by posing as an Italian on the dating site BitMistress.com.
He claimed to be an Italian businessman with a chain of luxury fashion stores. He contacted the women and started a romantic relationship with them. His method of defrauding victims is to tell them he intends opening high ends stores in Thailand for them. Then he claims he has shipped the goods.
Thereafter, the goods are held by Thai customs. He poses as a fake customs officer and gives the
women terms for the release of the luxury goods. The terms states that, because the goods are luxury goods for resale, a shop must be rented in a highbrow business district before the goods will be released.
He then surfaces as the recommended property agent to assist the women rent their shops. He charged the women 500,000 Baht ($16,500) for the commercial lease. He succeeded in collecting 1,500,000 Baht ($49,500) from the 3 women.
After payment they never heard from him again. Thai police received multiple fraud reports about his activities and decided to trap him. They asked the last victim to reach him again saying she prefers a bigger shop in a more high-end location. He responded saying he has another shop for 700,000 Baht which matched her preference but she needs to pay the difference of 200,000 Baht. The woman accepted and they agreed to meet at a mall. Aramide showed up into the waiting arms of the Thai police and he was arrested.
He was taken to his apartment to conduct a search. Items found in his apartment include pictures of the 3 victims, forged shipping and customs documents.
On his laptop they found the logged in session of Aramide Ojo’s account as an Italian on the dating site BitMistress.com where he met the 3 victims, and an invitation flyer for a church crusade he is to hold in his home country, Nigeria. The flyer showed the crusade will be held in December 2019 which he titled “My Season Of Miracle Money”.

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, says alleged Internet fraudster and social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha; and his Lebanese accomplice, Hamza Koudeih, laundered a combined N33bn.
Magu further stated that the two belonged to an international crime syndicate that did money laundering, especially in Dubai.
The EFCC boss said this at a Press conference in Lagos on Thursday.
He said, “The recent arrest of a social media celebrity, Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha; and his Lebanese collaborator, Hamza Koudeih, for their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud and money laundering, remains a landmark achievement of the EFCC.
“I make bold to tell you that these arrests have further confirmed our commitment to the anti-graft war, while also sending a red alert to potential internet fraudsters.
“I am sure you will be greatly shocked to know that five wristwatches valued at over N60m were recovered from the suspect.
“Investigation has also revealed that he operates 51 bank accounts in Nigeria, with which he acquired properties in Dubai; and had allegedly laundered about N14bn through a firm known as Ismalob Global Investments Limited.
“His accomplice, Koudeih, also has two firms namely, THK Services Limited and CHK properties Limited with which he has allegedly laundered about N19bn.”
He said Koudeih lived in a $5m per annum suite at the Eko Atlantic Pearl Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Magu said actionable intelligence received from local and international law enforcement agencies had revealed that the suspects, alongside their collaborators, were high-valued targets in Organised Cyber Syndicate Network.
The EFCC chair also stated that the Commission had begun forensic analysis of the phones, documents and “strange” items recovered from both suspects.
“They will be charged to court accordingly as soon as investigation is concluded,” he added.
A woman was found dead with an 8-foot python snake wrapped around her neck, according to Indiana State Police.
The snake was a reticulated python, which is native to southeast Asia and is considered to be the longest snake in the world.
The Benton County dispatch in Oxford, Indiana, received a 911 call Wednesday night after Laura Hurst, 36, was found unresponsive.
Medics arrived and attempted life-saving measures on her but were unsuccessful.
Police say there were 140 snakes at the property, and that approximately 20 of the snakes belong to Hurst.
According to police, Hurst frequented the property "about twice a week."
The home is owned by Benton County Sheriff Donald Munson, according to property records.
Munson told the Lafayette Journal & Courier that Hurst's death was a "tragic accident" and that he was "being fully cooperative with everybody."
Indiana State Police Sgt. Kim Riley told CNN that no one lives in the home and that it had been renovated and set up specifically for the collection of snakes.
He said that Hurst was "apparently there checking on her snakes. For whatever reason, she apparently got the snake out and she was doing what people do with snakes."
Riley said that the snake may have caused Hurst's death and that an autopsy will be performed on Friday to provide an official cause of death.

So much is happening in American politics... US President Donald Trump has announced he will make Florida his permanent home instead of Trump Tower in New York.
He said he had been badly treated by New York's political leaders, despite having paid millions of dollars in tax.
Mr Trump was born in New York but has increasingly spent more time at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach.
The president, a Republican, has been at odds with New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio - both Democrats.
They both welcomed the news that the president was Florida-bound.
"Don't let the door hit you on the way out or whatever," tweeted Mr De Blasio.
Mr Cuomo challenged Mr Trump's assertion that he had paid his taxes, adding: "He's all yours, Florida."
A 24-year-old man has begged a court in Akure, the Ondo state capital, to sentence him to prison. The 24-year-old scraper, Jummy Wasiu told the magistrate court, sitting at Oke-Eda, that he would be pleased if the court could sentence him to prison.
The court, presided over by Magistrate O.R. Yakubu, consequently, sentenced him to two years imprisonment without an option of fine.
Wasiu was arraigned by the Police on two counts of burglary and stealing. The prosecution said that the convict committed the offence on October 21, 2019 at about 2am at the Federal Housing Estate, Shagari Village, Zone V, Akure.
He was said to have stolen Solar Panels, batteries and cables, valued at N250,000.
The convict, who pleaded guilty to the allegation, had no lawyer to defend him. He couldn't get a lawyer. No money.
Police prosecutor, Mr. Augsutine Orihenimen, told the court that the convict had earlier told the investigating police officer (IPO), that he would not mind being jailed.
Orihenimen said, since Wasiu had admitted committing the offence, the court should sentence him accordingly.
When the court asked him if he would go to prison, he answered “Yes.”
Since the accused pleaded guilty to the allegation leveled against him, the court held that the convict actually committed the offence and sentenced him accordingly.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Monday said insecurity along the Abuja-Kaduna road has increased the passenger traffic on the Abuja-Kaduna rail service by 270 per cent. The route, which has a carrying capacity of 1,000 daily passengers, now ferries 3,700 passengers daily.
Amaechi also revealed that more coaches would soon be added on the route to cater for the high passenger volume. This will also stop the passengers from standing on the coaches while travelling.
Amaechi said, “The reason why we allowed standing on the Abuja-Kaduna train is the insecurity that has made it unbearable to insist on sitting.
“But once we get the next 10 coaches we are sending to Abuja-Kaduna, the situation where passengers stand inside our coaches will be reduced. Although it will not solve the problem of the 3,700 passengers, at least it will reduce the number of those who stand.”
He also added that, “The actual number of passengers that the service can take for the sitting capacity is about 1,000 plus, but we are carrying 3,700 people daily. So if you add 10 coaches of 84 passengers per coach, you will know that we are under pressure. We know that when the coaches come and we make it more regular the pressure will be reduced.”
The Minister also revealed plans to start making Made-In-Nigeria Trains. He said that on November 8, 2019, the Federal Government would lay the foundation for the Kajola factory in Ogun State where locomotives, wagons and coaches would be constructed by Chinese firms at no cost to Nigeria.
Amaechi also announced plans to commence a trial run of trains on the Lagos-Ibadan railway service in December. He said passengers will get free train rides during the Yuletide period.
“Our target is to start by November 30 this year, specifically from Ebute-Meta in Lagos to Ibadan in Oyo State.”
He urged the contractor handling the project, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, to complete the minor stations on the Lagos-Ibadan railway before November 25.
“If I spend sleepless nights to sign approvals for you, I don’t want to hear you use rain as an excuse why you can’t deliver your job as engineers... I will struggle to make sure that before Christmas it happens.”
