The agriculture ministry said in a statement that it had been notified by South African veterinary services that the latest outbreak had been identified at a farm in Limpopo province, close to the border with Zimbabwe.
Importation of live cattle, goats, sheep and pigs and related products had been suspended as authorities seek to identify the virus strain and extent of the outbreak.

Oyo State governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, on Sunday, said his decision to declare free education in the state was in recognition of the huge part that education had played in his successes in life.
Making reference to his humble background, which involved him selling bread by the gate of Adeoyo state hospital, Ibadan for his first 13 years, Makinde held that only by being educated did he make headway in life.
Makinde, who spoke during the 80th thanksgiving service of his mother, Mrs Abigael Makinde, at St Paul Anglican Church, Yemetu, Ibadan, on Sunday, said he also wanted residents of the state to gain the benefits of being educated hence his declaration of free education.
“For the first 13 years of my life, where we lived was not more than five minutes to where we are now. My mum was a Telephone Operator in the state secretariat. At Adeoyo State Hospital here, I and my brother Muyiwa also used to help her sell bread by the gate of Adeoyo State Hospital.
“What can propel a child who used to live some five minutes away from here [Yemetu] to become a Governor of Oyo state is education. And that is why we have declared that free and qualitative education has come to stay in Oyo state,” Makinde said.
Speaking further, he decried that some persons were hell-bent on sabotaging his efforts to sabotage his governance.
Makinde said these efforts to frustrate government’s efforts was epitomised in some residents who continue to intentionally dispose their waste on medians and other unauthorized places.
“Once again, I thank the good people of Oyo State for your unalloyed support for this administration. Some people don’t want this government to succeed.
Netflix has been accused of muck-raking in the new series of The Crown for suggesting that the Queen may have had a fling with Lord Porchester, her horse racing manager.
Dickie Arbiter, her former press secretary said over the weekend: “This is very distasteful and totally unfounded.
“The Queen is the last person in the world to have ever considered looking at another man.
“Not only is this muck raking, this is gossip that’s been washing around for decades. It’s got absolutely no substance.”
In the third series of the Crown, to be released by Netflix next Sunday, the Queen played by Olivia Colman is shown to have a close relationship with the man she affectionately calls Porchie.
In one hour-long episode she spends a month visiting stud farms in France and America accompanied by Porchie.
In the drama, Prince Philip is suspicious and grills her when she returns to Buckingham Palace.
Irritated by Philip’s attitude the Queen snaps: “If you have something to say say it now, otherwise if you don’t mind, I’m busy.”
Philip, played by Tobias Menzies starts to walk away but the scene ends with him returning to the Queen and then kissing her.
The Queen remained close to Porchie until his death in 2001. There has never been any evidence that they were more than friends.
Mr Arbiter, 79, said Peter Morgan, the writer of The Crown, has a habit of “beefing up” his scripts and is concerned that “people will take whatever he writes as sacrosanct”.
Arbiter added: “The Crown is fiction. No-one knows any conversation between memberts of the Royal Family but people will tell the story they want to and sensationalise it.”
Ryan Giggs is reportedly dating a DJ and model who is 15 years his junior.
The Manchester United legend is rumoured to be seeing Helen Stelling Holt, who is already well known on the 'Cheshire circuit'.
Giggs, 45, is said to now be closed to Helen, who regularly plays music at Old Trafford at corporate events held at the stadium.

Two domestic workers who connived and stole a Cuban Diamond neck chain, a Frank Muller and Rolex wrist watches worth N243 million belonging to their employer have been arrested in Borno after almost two weeks of fleeing Lekki, Lagos.
The suspects: Alex Obinyan (39), cleaner and Ayuba Samson (29), car washer, were arrested after they had sold the Cuban Diamond neck chain and Frank Muller wrist watch for N6m and N4m respectively in Lagos and Abuja.
The identity of their employer, whom sources confirmed is a popular celebrity with vast investment in Lekki, Lagos is being kept under wrap by the police. Obinyan, source disclosed had spent over eight years working and living with the celebrity in Lekki before the incident.
His colleague, Ayuba started working at the celebrity’s residence only two months ago after returning from Chibok, his home town. They earned N80,000 and N50,000 monthly.
The suspects and the buyers of the jewelry were brought to Rapid Response Squad headquarters, by the Decoy Team of the agency in an unbranded vehicle after an 8 day investigative activities to Abuja and Borno State.
The suspects, who were captured on CCTV leaving the celebrity’s residence have confessed stealing the Cuban Diamond Chain valued at N54 million, a Frank Moller Wrist watch worth N140 million and a Rolex wrist watch worth N49 million.
According to Obinyan, they sold the Cuban Diamond Chain in Eti – Osa, Lagos for N6 million while the Frank Moller watch was sold in Abuja for N4 million.
“I have been working with him (celebrity) in Lekki for over 8 years. I am used to moving those valuables around the house wherever I found them in his car. I have never thought of stealing them.
“When Samson came and he saw me with the gold chain laced with diamonds, he convinced me that we could make a fortune from stealing them. He was not with us before. Within two months of his stay, we planned to steal these things.
“Oga was in the sitting room. We stole the chain along with a Frank Moller wrist watch and a Rolex wrist watch. Before escaping, we already got a buyer for the chain. We sold the Cuban Diamond chain in Eti – Osa for N6 million.
“The following day, we escaped to Abuja where we bought a Toyota Corolla. We sold the Frank Moller watch in Abuja for N4 million to raise more money for our escape to Borno State, where we intended to start new lives and businesses,” he said.
The family of AbdulRasheed Maina has refuted claims by an online media that he is feigning sickness and receiving presidential treatment in Kuje Correctional Facility where he is being detained.
The family state that Maina has been on life support and medication for the past 15 years.
Sahara Reporters had reported that the ex-chairman of Pension Reforms Task Team, who is facing charges of N2 billion fraud and was brought to court last week on wheelchair, is only feigning illness while receiving presidential treatment in the Kuje Correctional Facility.
But the family, in a quick reaction, said Maina is on life support due to his deteriorated hereditary condition.
A statement signed by Abdullahi Usman for the family said: “Our attention has been drawn to news headline published online by Sahara Reporters insinuating falsehood concerning the health and trial of the former Pensions Funds chief, Abdulrasheed Maina.
“Contrary to the report, we wish to clarify on some allegations made by the news outlet concerning his health situation and the ongoing trial. It is absolutely not true that Maina is receiving any presidential treatment in Kuje prison where he is being detained. He is placed under the usual prison conditions in an uncomfortable cell that is dilapidated.
“It is also a figment of the imagination of those who concocted the lies that Maina is receiving visitors at will. It is in fact a more difficult task than the usual prison processes of visiting detained person, to gain access or be allowed to visit Maina in detention. Several family and friends have made efforts to see him but all to no avail.
“It is indeed embarrassing to the Assistant Comptroller of Kuje prison to have been falsely accused of receiving cash bribes to delay or stop presenting Maina before court with sole intention to hinder justice when the need arises as feigned by the online news medium. How and where would Maina that is not allowed visitors get cash to bribe any official, comes to every right-thinking mind because it is a blatant lie.
“Maina was on life support, medication for over 15 years, you can confirm this from his medical records. Maina had survived on control drugs treatment for many years and his condition got deteriorated due to lack of access to his prescribed medications while in detention, a hereditary health condition also being faced by his son Faisal Abdurrasheed. He also suffers severe back ache due to the ill-condition of his place of detention.
“Recently, Maina spent three days in the prison hospital and is seriously indisposed to stand trial in that condition. The court acted rightly based on medical reports presented to it for which it moved the case further to allow him resuscitate.
“We wish to disabuse the mind of the general public that Maina, who is surviving on support from friends and relatives since he left his position, has any money to the extent of using it to compromise witnesses through bribery. This is also an insult on the presumed witnesses to be presented before the court by his accusers.
“It shows a sense of desperation on their side. In as much as it would not be ideal to accuse his detention of being purposely done to give room to present fake witnesses to the court, it is also wrong to claim that if he is released on bail he would bribe the witnesses. Are they paid by his accusers to stand against him?
“We wish to remind the general public that Maina is only a victim of circumstance. He was in a position where a lot of people thought they could exploit and loot pensions funds which he disallowed. He is today paying the price for protecting the pension funds from looters and extorting funds termites. We therefore call for justice not only be done but be seen to have been done.”
Pensioners aged 90 and over are being admitted to hospital after taking cocaine, NHS research has revealed.
The report said ten elderly patients were taken to hospital with mental and behavioural disorders 'due to the use of cocaine'.
The number of people admitted to hospital due to cocaine use within the nonagenarian group remains the same as last year, but it is a five-fold compared with two a decade ago, according to NHS Digital.
The analysis shows a whopping 88 per cent increase in the number of people, aged 60 and above, being treated for cocaine-related disorders in England.
It went from 45 people a year in 2009 to 379 people this year.
Dr Emily Finch, vice-chair of the addictions faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, told the Sunday Times that the rise in the number of pensioners taking drugs was related to longer longevity, the increasing purity of the drug and the falling prices to purchase them.
She said the trend is 'deeply worrying'.
Dr Finch added: "Many people don't realise that cocaine use can cause mental health problems, resulting in people becoming so unwell they need to be admitted to hospital."
When you become a parent, it suddenly seems like everyone has an opinion on how you raise your child.
But they also have views on other parts of your life and aren't afraid to voice them - no matter whether it's their place to do so or not.
One mum was recently criticised for a photo she posted to her Instagram, as people didn't think it was appropriate content for a mother to share.
Sia Cooper, an American fitness blogger who posts under the name @diaryofafitmommyofficial, shared a snap of herself in a bikini while on holiday.
The 30-year-old mum-of-two uploaded an image showing her stood on a boardwalk in the Bahamas, wearing a bikini, looking out over the sparkling blue sea.
In the caption she revealed the photo had been taken back in June but she had been nervous to post it as you could see cellulite on the back of her legs.
Ultimately she decided to put it out there to help her followers feel "empowered".
But the photo was met with backlash from some.
One comment in particular really bothered Cooper.
It read: "To show your gains you don't have to show your behind like that, you are a mother, think about what your children see your behind in your posts in the future."
The user went on to say they would be unfollowing the mum because of it.
But Cooper wasn't here for the shaming and hit back in another post featuring another bikini picture.
She wrote: "The other day, I had posted a photo of myself in this very same bikini and was told to cover up... because I am a mother. Cue the mom-shaming.
"Since when were moms supposed to hide their bodies? Since when were mothers no longer allowed to feel sexy? How do you think babies even got here in the first place?
"She went on to say that I should think about what my kids will think of my behind some day. You know what? I want my kids to see a mother who is body positive. I want my kids to see a mother who is comfortable in her own skin. Plus, they love my butt and use it as a bongo when I'm cooking dinner or awkwardly standing in line at the grocery store."
She added: "There is no rule out there that states you can't rock a bikini just because you pushed a baby out of your vagina at some point in your life. In fact, that should make you worthy of one and so much more.
"I grew up with a mom who hated her body. In fact she also made me hate mine by nitpicking it apart and pointing out every time it looked like I had gained weight.
"I fought like hell to finally love myself and it wasn't until a few years ago that I started wearing shorts again in public. I would've given anything to have a body positive mama and I make sure that my kids see and feel this positivity everyday."
Cooper went on to encourage her fellow mums to put on their bikinis and to stay true to themselves.

Fury has erupted after it emerged a police inquiry into Boris Johnson's friendship with Jennifer Arcuri will be shelved until after the general election.
The independent police watchdog has delayed its announcement on whether the Prime Minister should face an investigation into possible criminal misconduct until after a new Government is voted in.
The decision caused anger among Westminster politicians and London assembly members who said it appeared a ruling had been “suppressed” to protect Mr Johnson from potentially damaging headlines during the campaign.
It is said the decision was made in a private meeting held before parliament was dissolved last week.
Officials from the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) agreed not to announce whether they were going to investigate “possible criminality” over allegations about a conflict of interest in Johnson’s dealings while mayor of London with the American technology entrepreneur until after the election, the Observer reported.
It is alleged Ms Arcuri received favourable treatment due to her friendship with Mr Johnson, including receiving large sums of public money for her technology firms.
The offence of misconduct in public office carries a maximum term of life imprisonment.
Mr Johnson has denied any impropriety.
Jon Trickett, shadow Cabinet Office minister, said: “This is incredible. It’s a suppression of information which the public is entitled to have.
"Given the fact we’re in a general election there should be maximum transparency.”
He added: “This decision must be reversed immediately.”
Caroline Pidgeon, a Lib Dem member of the London assembly’s oversight committee, said the delay raised the possibility of Downing Street contact with the IOPC before its decision.
“It raises questions over how independent the IOPC really is and whether the prime minister’s lawyers have been exerting undue pressure,” she said.
Miley Cyrus has undergone surgery on her vocal cords and will have to remain silent for weeks. The 26-year-old was hospitalised last month with tonsillitis but was forced to return to hospital this week.
People magazine reported the Wrecking Ball singer has 'now left the hospital' after undergoing surgery.
A source told the site: "When Cyrus was hospitalised for tonsillitis last month, she discovered a separate issue with her vocal cords, which she had unknowingly had for years.
"After learning of the issue, Cyrus was told she would need to have surgery before the end of the year, and that the recovery process would include several weeks of silence."
