People blame me for my father’s actions, Buhari’s daughter laments

President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra Indimi, has lamented that many Nigerians attack her on social media for decisions solely taken by her father.

She said she prays for those who bully her online because she has learnt to move on with life.

Zahra made the statement at the first edition of “An Afternoon with Zahra”, an event organised in Abuja by her foundation, ZMB Homes, tagged #ConversationWithZahra, The Interview reports.

The event, which cost N10,000 per person, attracted several young persons.

Speaking on her experience with cyber bullies and how she developed confidence to handle them, Zahra wondered why people attack her over issues of governance though she is not in office with her father.

Narrating her story she said, “2015 was when I knew what bullying was. It started with my photos going viral. I was actually having a yoga class and I was sweating but people were busy sending my pictures up and down. People used it for their gain during the campaign.

“But the issue changed the way people looked at my dad because they didn’t know that we were educated, we could speak English, and we could dress. So it changed a few things for good. It showed another light. People then understood that in the North not everybody is illiterate.

“The 2015 elections went well. After 100 days, then the blow started coming. ‘Zahra your father did this… Zahra your father did that. But seriously, am I in office with him? Do I take any vital decision?

“Did you understand why some decisions are being taken? When I post my picture, it is my picture. It is not your child’s picture. I kept wondering why people do this to me constantly.”

She asked victims of cyber bullying not to be intimidated by hateful persons, adding that many unfavourable comments were made out of envy.

Zahra added, “I know we have people who are victims here. So to be honest, if you are a victim you need to feel sorry for those people; they want to be where you are and they are not there. So they will try to pull you down. Would you let them pull you down? No. You need to know that you have the values that someone also wants.”

On the social media regulation bill, which has passed second reading in the Senate, Zahra said she supports fair regulation of social media, “but we have to see and understand the content of the present social media regulation bill.”

Khloe Kardashian says Caitlyn transition 'broke deathbed vow to late father Robert'

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian grieved for stepdad Bruce Jenner when he transitioned into Caitlyn.

Khloe, now 35, says she felt a sense of loss and felt devalued for not being told of Caitlyn’s plan sooner.

Caitlyn, 70, revealed a feud with Khloe on I’m a Celeb, saying she had been “p***ed off during the transition”.

They have not spoken for five years and Caitlyn said she is not sure what her “issues” are.

Keeping up with the Kardashians star Khloe also thinks Bruce’s decision to become Caitlyn broke a deathbed promise to her biological dad Robert to “always take care of them.”

Robert, who represented OJ Simpson and was also dad to Kourtney, Kim and Rob, died of oesophageal cancer in 2003 when his ex-wife Kris was married to Olympic champ Bruce.

Just as she grieved for her dad, Khloe went on to grieve for her second dad Bruce, when he transitioned.

Khloe’s heart went out to Bruce but she wrote in her book Strong Looks Better Naked: “I saw the transformation as a huge loss.

"In some ways I felt the worst part was that other people had known about the transition before we did. I felt devalued by that fact.

“It was about my own loss; it was about the pain I felt because he was walking out of our lives.”

Following her split from Kris in 2013, Caitlyn began secretly having surgical procedures.

But Khloe claimed Caitlyn had refused to tell them the truth about her new identity and that she let them find out through the media.

Khloe told The Ellen DeGeneres Show: “We kept asking him, ‘Bruce, like what’s going on? We’re hearing all these rumours?’ and he kept telling us one thing but really he knew he was transitioning and wouldn’t be honest with us.”

Caitlyn is said to have reacted to the outburst with a string of angry messages, but Khloe was unapologetic for the things she said.

I'm yet to make money from Nollywood - Dayo Amusa

Dayo Amusa has shocked her fans when she said she is yet to make money from Nollywood and implies the cars and wealth she flaunts were gotten from other businesses.

Dayo made this known in an interview with The Sun. She said;

“I do a lot of things that generate money for me. I have always done business even before I came into Nollywood and I am still in business. I came into Nollywood as an actress before becoming a movie producer and to date, I have shot 12 movies and still counting. Truth be told, I have not made money from Nollywood yet. After 12 movies I have not made the kind of money that I should make but I know I will make it. You see, there is a difference between making a huge profit and then, just getting your money back on your investment. I haven’t broken even" she said.

Former model accused of helping Jefrrey Epstein get under-age girls leaves US

A former model accused of organising under-age girls for Jeffrey Epstein to abuse has left the US as the FBI is poised to make arrests.

Adriana Ross, 36, who was once questioned about Prince Andrew under oath, was tracked down by the Mirror as she left her home in Miami, Florida.

As she packed a case into a car she refused to answer questions about Andrew or her alleged role with Epstein.

And when she later arrived at the city’s cruise terminal with her husband, she insisted: “I have nothing to say.”

US attorney general Bill Barr has vowed to bring to justice those who helped paedophile billionaire Epstein, who killed himself in prison aged 66 in August while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges

On Friday night sources told the Mirror that papers were being prepared ahead of “several arrests”.

Ross was one of four female “potential co-conspirators” granted immunity as part of Epstein’s plea deal when he was jailed for procuring teenagers for prostitution in 2008.

She was accused of clearing three computers from Epstein’s home in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2005 before police raided it – but when asked about this she exercised her right to remain silent.

During a civil prosecution in March 2010, she refused to answer questions about Prince Andrew, whose friendship with Epstein has led to public shame.

She was asked: “Has Prince Andrew ever been involved with underage minor females to your knowledge? Have you ever met [him]? Have you flown on [Epstein’s] plane with Andrew?”

Flight logs show Andrew, 59, was with Epstein at least three times on the financier’s private jet, dubbed the Lolita Express.

Lawyers for Epstein’s victims also tackled Ross on notes found in the billionaire’s bin purportedly showing Ross allegedly arranging when and how victims would visit him.

Canada set to deport Nigerian family, the Bakares

A Nigerian family facing deportation in Canada has called on the Canadian government to provide any assistance possible to avoid returning to Nigeria.

The family feared that its two young girls — with another on the way — will be subjected to female genital mutilation in Nigeria.

Rasheedat Bakare, her husband Afeez, son Faaiq and daughter Faiqah all fled Nigeria and arrived in Canada in 2017. The family’s youngest daughter Farhana was born in Canada in 2018.

The family of five was denied refugee status on Thursday and were told to leave the country by 3 p.m. on Friday.

“My children’s life, my husband’s life is at risk,” said Rasheedat Bakare.

“We ran away because they wanted to circumcise my baby girl — the one I brought from Africa. When I got to Canada, I had another baby girl. Currently, I’m pregnant with another baby girl. Now [I’ll have] three baby girls — [and all of their lives are] going to be at risk.”
The family’s case caught the attention of the African Community Organization of Windsor (ACOW), a group that staged a protest on Friday outside the office of Windsor West NDP MP Brian Masse.

Claude Saizonou, president of the ACOW, said his group gathered outside Masse’s office because “we’ve been through this kind of situation so many times.”

“We never react. We never say anything,” he said. “And we just have [had] enough of it. We just want to stand up and say ‘If we don’t do it, nobody would do it for us.’ And this family has to stay today.”

On Friday afternoon, after Rasheedat — who is approximately five months pregnant — collapsed and was rushed to hospital, the government issued a temporary delay on the deportation order.

Afeez Bakare said he’s not sure when he and his family will be required to leave.

“I don’t want my life and my family to be in danger,” he said. “My wife is in a state where she is restless, she cannot do anything.”

Masse described the federal government’s treatment of the Bakare family as “heavy-handed,” adding that it was even logistically difficult for the family to comply with the deportation order in the first place, simply because of how little time was given.

At the same time, Masse pointed out that Farhana, who was born in Canada in 2018, is a naturalized citizen, complicating matters further.

“[There are] very significant issues related to health, personal safety and just the capability financially of being able to [leave the country],” he said.
