19-year-old boy impregnates his mother while testing love charm in Asaba

A 19-year-old boy, Ekenem has allegedly impregnated his mother while testing his love charm in Asaba, Delta State.

The boy is said to have gone to a native doctor, who prepared a love charm for him to use on his mother and one of the matrons in the college where he is a boarding student.

After using the love charm on his mother, the husband of the woman denied being responsible for the pregnancy because he has been away for some time outside his operational base.

 But the victim, the suspect’s mother, while speaking to journalists said:

“I did not know how it happened, but all I can say is that a young man who looked like my son suddenly found his way into my room at the wee hours and I was speechless”, adding that the whole exercise had remained inexplicable.

Speaking at the police headquarters to journalists after being arrested, the suspect said:

“I am deeply sorry for all that has happened, I did not mean to do this. I saw myself falling in love with her after the love charm prepared for me. I have to confess because I know by so doing, God will touch her mind and I know she will forgive me.

“I suddenly found that I was making love to mum when I thought the charm will not work, and upon the revelation, I threatened to kill her and the matter was reported to the police”, he said.

DSP Celestina Kalu, Police Public Relations Officer in the state, who confirmed the report, disclosed that the boy was arrested over threat to life.

Nigerian man returns N98m mistakenly credited into his bank account (pictured)

A Nigerian, Mr Sunny Anderson has returned the sum of N98 million that was mistakenly transferred into his bank account. Anderson shared the news online, saying the transfer came from an Abuja based company.

While sharing the news, he hinted he doesn't have much and his account clearly stated he had N668 balance before the N98m was paid into it, but prayed God won't let 'us' take anything that belongs to another no matter the level of lack.

He wrote, “Today, God gave me the grace to return the sum of N98,000,000 (Ninety Eight Million Naira) that was mistakenly transferred into my Acct by a company based in Abuja. God will never allow us take what belongs to someone else, no matter our level of LACK”

Hopefully he gets the N8m on top. What if he eloped? Forget all these tracing ooo. Men?? forget!

A Twitter user @Julisco_ who shared the photos suggested she was carrying out the spiritual exercise in other to keep getting goodies from men.

Anambra land agent in N66.2m mess, arraigned in court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned Okoye Kenneth Chinedu before Justice I. B Gafai of Federal High Court, Awka, Anambra State on five counts charge of forgery, conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretense to the tune of N66,250,500.

Okoye pleaded not guilty to all the counts preferred against him.

According to the petition brought to EFCC, the defendant allegedly claimed to be a land agent and conspired with his accomplices to defraud the complainant of the sum under the false pretense of purchasing several plots of land.


The land were situated as follows: Four plots of land at Commissioners Quarters, Awka, at the cost of N14,000,000, and another twenty five plots of land at Agu-Awka Industrial Layout at the cost N55,000,000.

Investigation by the Commission revealed that the said land belonged to a serving judge in one of the State High Courts and a former Senator from the state respectively.

ICPC declares lawmaker, Shehu Mohammed wanted

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission has declared a lawmaker representing Maiyama/Koko/Besse Federal Constituency in Kebbi State, Shehu Mohammed, wanted.

A statement posted on the commission’s website by its spokesperson, Rasheedat Okoduwa, on Thursday, said Mohammed was wanted for failure to appear before the ICPC in an ongoing investigation against him.

The statement said, “Mohammed is hereby declared wanted by the ICPC for his failure to appear before the commission, for an ongoing investigation against him.

“Mohammed, an indigene of Kebbi State, is currently serving as an honourable member representing the Maiyama/Koko/Besse Federal Constituency in the National Assembly. He was born on June 16, 1978 (41 years old) and is dark in complexion.

“His current address is Wamban Koko Campaign Office, Jega Road, Maiyama, Kebbi State.

Disobedience to court order, recipe for chaos – Sultan

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has warned that disobedience to any court order is a recipe for lawlessness and chaos.

In a veiled reference to the arrest of the #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore, by the Department of State Services in violation of a court order, Abubakar stated that “everyone must be law-abiding in the interest of national development.”

He gave the warning on Thursday in Abuja at the 2019 fourth quarter meeting of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council with the theme, ‘Religion and civil authorities in dialogue for nation-building.’

The monarch said, “We must regularly obey and respect the laws of our land. We should never disregard the laws to avoid the consequences. If a court makes a judicial pronouncement on a particular matter, it should be obeyed to the letter.

“If you have any problem or disagree with the pronouncement, the next step is to appeal the pronouncement instead of disregarding or violating court judgments.”

Speaking further, the Muslim leader noted, “If you are served a court order and you deliberately refused to obey it because you are a governor, president or any influential person, then you are setting a dangerous precedent.”

“There’s no society that will prosper through lawlessness; citizens must be law-abiding so that we can achieve the desired development,” Abubakar said.

Lagos declares Birth certificate free... tells residents to report officials who demand for money

The Lagos State Government has asked residents to stop paying for birth certificates, saying any state official who demanded money should be reported for disciplinary actions.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Board, Dr Tayo Lawal, spoke during the inauguration of the Surulere Primary Health Centre, Agbado-Oke-Odo, Alimosho Local Government Area.

The health centre was renovated and equipped by the Embassy of Japan in partnership with a non-governmental organisation, Street-to-School Initiative.

“There is, however, one thing I want you to monitor. If we have birth registration in this place and we are issuing birth certificates, you are not expected to pay a kobo for them. If anybody asked you for money, report such a person. We are assuring you that we will provide adequate personnel for this health centre,” Lawal added.

15 injured as Oshiomohole, Obaseki's supporters clash ahead of APC rally today

There was tension in Benin, Edo State on Thursday, over a rally that a faction of the All Progressives Congress loyal to its National Chairman, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, will hold today.

The Oshiomhole faction will today (Friday) hold a rally for a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Osagie Eze-Iyamu.

Ahead of the rally, 15 people were injured during a clash between supporters of Oshiomhole and those of the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.


The APC in Edo State had, last month, been factionalised with one group loyal to Oshiomhole and the other backed by Obaseki.

The Oshiomhole faction led by Col David Imuse (retd.), said Friday’s rally was being organised by the party to receive the PDP candidate in the 2016 governorship election, Ize Iyamu.

But there was confusion over the rally on Thursday. Earlier on Wednesday,  there was a letter dated 11th December, which was, addressed to Oshiomhole. The letter stated that the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had granted the APC faction the permission to hold the rally.

But the governor  said he was not aware of the rally.

Similarly, the APC factional chairman on the side of Governor, Mr  Anselm Ojezua, said the state governor and other leaders of the party were not aware of the purported declaration rally.

A letter also emerged late yesterday saying the IGP had barred the rally.

Will the rally hold? What will happen today in Edo state?

9-year old genius who wanted to graduate from university before age 10 quits following row with university

A nine-year-old child genius has quit his university degree following a row about his graduation date.

Laurent Simons, from Amsterdam, was on track to become the world's youngest graduate.

But his record breaking plans were scuppered when he was informed he would not be able to complete his degree before he turns 10 on Boxing Day.

The youngster was told by the Dutch university of Eindhoven it would not be possible for him to sit his remaining exams in time.


His disappointed parents have now made the decision to terminate his studies.

Laurent - who has an IQ of 145 - made headlines around the globe last month, as he looked set to complete a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at Eindhoven's University of Technology before the end of the year.

Cherubim and Seraphim pastor jailed for stealing goat, nine turkeys

Magistrate Adijat Oloyade of the Osun State Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo, on Thursday, convicted the pastor of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church located on the Baruwa Estate, Osogbo, Solomon Opaalade, for stealing a goat and turkeys.

Opaalade, who was arraigned on five counts bordering on stealing, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment for three of the counts.

When he was arraigned on July 15, 2019, Opaalade was accused of stealing nine turkeys and a goat sometimes in March, 2017.


In the course of the trial, the prosecution team led by Adekunle Adeniyi from the state Ministry of Justice, told the court that Opaalade stole nine turkeys and a goat belonging to Oluwasegun Hammeed.

The prosecutor called five witnesses and presented two turkeys and charms recovered from Opaalade as well as a statement written by the defendant.

Oloyade, in her judgment, found the defendant guilty of three of the five counts.

Oloyade subsequently sentenced the cleric to 18 months’ imprisonment on each of the three counts, or an option of paying N10,000 fine for each of the counts.

R.Kelly’s ex wife Andrea Lee to sue Lifetime TV over ‘Surviving Kelly 2’

Andrea Lee Kelly, ex-wife to the embattled singer, R.Kelly has vowed to drag Lifetime TV to court after the media house released a new documentary follow-up ‘surviving R Kelly part II: The Reckoning’ on Wednesday.

The new series airing in three parts on Jan. 2, 3 and 4, will examine the impact of the original series, which was the first broadcast in January 2019. In addition, it will also provide an update on the lengthy list of R. Kelly‘s legal battles, which have spread across multiple states.

Andrea, however, said she will be suing Lifetime after the company used video clips from the first ‘Surviving Kelly’ series in the trailer of the new Surviving Kelly II documentary without her permission.


“It was brought to Drea Kelly’s attention that [Surviving R. Kelly Part II] promotions, along with the introduction and various segments of the series portrays the likeness of Ms. Kelly despite her adamant requests and refusal to participate in said production,” her representative said in a statement.

Andrea wants to make it clear that she has nothing to do with the new documentary, and says she is very angry with the media company especially after she received so many threats following her pivotal role in the first documentary and the company did nothing to protect her or the other women involved in the documentary.

Andrea also revealed that she warned Lifetime to stay off her and her family in the new documentary and didn’t give them permission to use her voice, image or likeness in the new documentary as the company didn’t do any follow-up or check up on any of the women used for the first documentary.

Andrea says the trailer is misleading and “she has no involvement, did not approve any footage or stills of her likeness and is not actively promoting, nor consulting the follow-up series.”

She said that the production company reached out to her “children, immediate family members & associates, despite her request not to do so,” lacked “emotional support and conflict resolution assistance” for some of the on-film survivors, failed to provide proper aftercare and support for the survivors, and inadequate “security throughout the scope of the documentary’s screening and promotional tours.”

BBC presenter makes lonely old man cry as he surprises him with Christmas tree

BBC Breakfast left its viewers in floods of tears on Wednesday morning when it gave a lonely elderly man a Christmas surprise.

The day before the show's host Dan Walker had interviewed Terrence, who has spent the last 20 Christmas Days alone.

So Dan and the crew travelled to Terrence's home in Oldham to surprise him with a Christmas tree and carol singers.

Before the big reveal the two men sat down for a chat and Terrence explained that he used to spend Christmas with his mum.


He'd bring her Christmas dinner and presents and he always remembered that she'd told him how she wouldn't get any presents if he didn't go to see her.

Terrence said: "I often think about that now. People who are on their own now don't get any presents from people."

This year Terrence will be spending the day with his friend Nancy, who he met through Age UK.

Dan opened the door to reveal students from Oldham College who brought decorations and a tree to give Terrence's house a festive makeover.

"We brought you a Christmas tree to brighten your Christmas," one said.

Terrence burst into tears and thanked them all as he dried his eyes.

Dan then asked him his favourite carol and after he revealed it was Silent Night the host took him outside where a choir performed the song.

Fresh woman's body parts found dumped in Abuja (graphic photo)

Body parts of woman believed to have been murdered has been found on a road side in Abuja. The parts where found dumped at Area 3 Junction in Abuja on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

The severed parts of the woman's body -- her head, hands, and limbs, were found in different polythene bags at the junction that leads to Living Faith Church.

Passersby who discovered the body contacted the police who Later arrived and took the body parts away.

Rats eat up man's christmas savings (photos)

46 doctors resign from Ojukwu teaching hospital

No fewer than 46 medical doctors have resigned from the Anambra State-owned Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka, over poor condition of service.

They were made up of 10 consultants and 36 resident doctors.

The university’s  chairman of the Medical and Dental Consultants of Nigeria, Dr  Chukwudi Okani, stated this on Wednesday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

He said the doctors were “frustrated out of the system because of poor management in the last one year and many more are seriously searching for better places to go.”


He said COOUTH had the worst condition of service amongst teaching hospitals in the country.

He urged the governor, Willie Obiano, to intervene to save the institution from imminent collapse.

Okani said the ongoing indefinite strike by his members in the institution would continue until government met their demands.

Police to make 5 women CPs as part of a deliberate effort to place women in managerial positions

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has said more women will be appointed into top management positions in the Nigeria Police Force.

He said that five female officers would soon be elevated to the rank of Commissioner of Police as part of a deliberate effort to place more women in managerial positions.

Addressing the 2019 Nigeria Police Force Women’s conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the IG said female police officers had demonstrated intelligence and capability and had shown that they could compete favourably with their male counterparts in critical engagements.

Adamu noted that the force had over the years put in place policies to respect gender sensitivity, adding that this informed the establishment of the office of the Force Gender Advisor as well as the Gender Unit of the Force Intelligence Bureau.
