Hunter shot dead by colleague during hunting expedition

A hunter, identified as Kehinde Edward, was reportedly shot on the head by a colleague, Kehinde Adeleke, while on hunting expedition in a forest in Osun State.

It was also gathered that the hunters in the company of others went on hunting expedition in a forest in Ere Ijesa, a town in Oriade Local Government Area of the state, Saturday evening.

It was gathered that few minutes after the hunters started shooting at animals in the forest, the deceased voice was overheard by fellow hunters, who rushed towards his direction.

On getting to where he was, it was gathered, his lifeless body was found with gun injury on his head.

The hunters, according to a source, developed cold feet and returned to the town to inform community heads of the incident.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Folasade Odoro, said the incident occurred around 4:30 pm on Saturday.

She said the deceased was shot by his colleague while hunting in the bush in Ere Ijesa.

According to her, the body of the deceased has been recovered and deposited in the morgue of Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa.

“The Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, has ordered an investigation into the matter,” she said.

Mum strangles 9 year-old daughter then jumps out window after having 'cancer breakdown'

A mother has been accused of strangling her nine-year-old daughter to death then jumping out of an eighth-floor window after ‘having a mental breakdown’ in Russia.

Maria Russkikh , 29, survived the fall and was rushed to hospital in the city of Novosibirsk, southwestern Siberia.

According to local reports police suspect the mother, who had been diagnosed with cancer, bludgeoned and strangled her daughter to death before jumping out of the window in a suspected suicide bid.

She was found lying on the snow and moaning in pain by residents of her apartment block who called emergency services.


A male resident said to local media: "The woman was almost naked. Her legs and hands were covered with blood though there were no wounds on her body.

"I asked her what happened but she did not reply.


"She was only saying, 'Help me, I cannot feel my legs and arms'."

Paramedics loaded the woman in the ambulance as police officers entered her apartment and discovered her daughter, nine, lying dead in a pool of blood near the front door.

Forensic examination found the child had been hit on the head with a heavy object before being strangled to death.

The blood found on Russkikh's body belonged to her daughter, investigators said.

The mother, who reportedly has terminal cancer, left a death note in the apartment.

According to a source, the note said: "I cannot live with these unbearable headaches anymore. Forgive me."

At the end of her letter Russkikh wrote that 'she loves her daughter very much', the source reported.

The mother is now at a hospital where she is being treated for numerous fractures she had received due to the fall. Doctors say her condition is serious but stable.

Ex- supreme court judge, Abubakar Bashir Wali is dead

A former Supreme Court judge, Justice Abubakar Bashir Wali, has died in his residence at Kano State. This was disclosed by a family source who said the late rist died at his residence in Kano after a protracted illness.

It would be recalled that Justice Wali was a pioneer legal practitioner in the north.

Justice Wali was also the first judge from the Shariah Court of Appeal to rise through the rank to become a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The family source also disclosed that the deceased would be buried Tuesday afternoon according to Islamic rites.

Court affirms Samuel Ortom’s election as Benue Governor

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Samuel Ortom as the Governor of Benue state.

The panel of seven Justices led by Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour dismissed the appeal filed by the APC and its governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, for lacking in merit.

Ortom polled a total of 434,473 votes to beat Mr Jime who got 345,155 votes during the March 2019 state governorship supplementary election.

We kidnapped woman’s son, attended her burial, man confesses

One of the 30 kidnappers arrested by operatives of Operation Puff Adder, launched by the Inspector General of Police, yesterday, in Kaduna revealed how they kidnapped the son of a woman living in their neighbourhood, who later died from a heart attack due to shock.

The suspect, Saidu, said after the gang collected N6million ransom for the boy’s release, he was part of those that attended the burial of the late woman.

He said he got N200,000 from the ransom and that the Police later arrested him and three members of the gang while two others are still at large.

Another gang member, Ibrahim Suleiman, said they were arrested while planning to kidnap Modibo, the Chairman of Kagara Local Government Area of Kaduna.

He said his gang was sent by ‘Yellow’, their leader, who resides in a Zamfara forest, to take a letter to Modibo to pay N40 million or risk being kidnapped.

“We kidnapped one Alhaji Mayake, his wife and his children. We collected N4 million ransom. But the victims, apart from Mayake are still with Yellow in the Zamfara forest.

During the parade of the 61 suspects arrested for various offences, Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, said a total of 31 assorted weapons were recovered from the gangs.

They include 10 AK-47 rifles, nine AK-49 rifles, one unit of the latest Kalashnikov rifle known as the AK-Fatney, pump action guns, Barrett’s pistol, 345 live cartridges, 469 rounds of live AK-47 and AK-49 ammunition.

The Force PRO also paraded a motorcycle used for smuggling arms and ammunition caught with two AK-47 rifles and 150 rounds of live ammunition hidden in it.

Mba also disclosed that new Police patrol vehicles and other equipment, including mobile CCTV cameras and safer highway equipment have been distributed to Police formations across the country to enhance crime-fighting and prevention efforts.

Prince Harry finally joins Meghan Markle and Archie in Canada to start a new life

Prince Harry has arrived in Canada to begin his new life with his wife Meghan and their baby son Archie.

The 35-year-old, who recently relinquished his royal duties, was pictured leaving a commercial flight in Vancouver on Monday evening. Just hours before, Harry had took part in an engagement with Prime Minister Boris Johnson and African leaders before boarding a British Airways flight from Heathrow.

PDP protest in Abuja was to overthrow the President, Hope Uzondinma alleges

The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has said members of the Peoples Democratic Party were plotting to overthrow the administration of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, (retd.).

Uzodinma, who addressed members of the All Progressives Congress who were at the Government House in Owerri, on a solidarity march, urged heads of security agencies to launch investigation into the activities of the main opposition party.

The governor said the motive of the PDP members was not about the judgment of the Supreme Court justices but to cause problem in the country, thereby overthrowing the current administration.


He insisted that he won the March 9, 2019, governorship election in the state.

Uzodinma said, “The motive of those who are wearing black, protesting around the country is not about the Imo State governorship election. If it is the Imo State governorship election, why are the PDP members protesting in Abuja, Bayelsa and everywhere in the country? Why are they not protesting only in Imo State?

“The PDP wants to overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari. I, therefore, use this medium to call on all the security agencies to begin investigation into the organised, synchronised national crisis which the PDP is plotting.

“I did not challenge the election on the grounds of violence. I challenged the election on the grounds that INEC refused to accept the results of 388 polling units it accepted at the collation centres.”

“The tribunal did not understand our petition. The appeal court gave us a minority judgment but the Supreme Court in its wisdom understood our petition and gave judgment in our favour.”

We will give $3m to anyone who kills trump, Iranian politician pledges

An Iranian politician has announced a $3million 'cash prize' for anyone who kills President Donald Trump.

Ahmad Hamzeh, parliamentary speaker from central Kerman province, told lawmakers: 'We will pay a three million dollar award in cash to whoever kills Trump.'

Kerman is the home province of Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian Quds leader who was killed in a drone strike by Trump, and whose death the regime has sworn to avenge.

In a firebrand speech today, Hamzeh vowed that Soleimani would be more dangerous to America in death than he was in life as Iranians seek to avenge him.


He also attacked the Trump administration's pretext of assassinating Soleimani in a 'preventative strike' because he was plotting to kill Americans.

'Will your embassies in the region be safe? If your embassies are plotting to kill our innocent people, are we allowed to destroy them?' he said.

'Are your military bases and centers in the region for benevolence or to harm nations? Are we allowed to destroy all your bases in a preventive attack?'

Speaking about the 2015 nuclear deal, which was torn up by the Trump administration, he added: 'If we had nuclear weapons today, we would have been immune from the threat.

'Now that Europe has abandoned its commitments, I suggest moving out of the [Non-Proliferation Treaty] as soon as possible and launching nuclear fission blasts.

'Let us announce to the world that we have joined the Nuclear Power Club.'

The West has long accused Tehran of seeking to develop nuclear arms, although Iran's clerical rulers consistently deny this, saying the nation's nuclear programme has only peaceful aims.

DJ Khaled and his wife Nicole Tuck have welcomed their second child -- a baby boy.

The 44-year-old DJ and music producer took to Instagram to share updates from the delivery room.

“DR JIN said you ready 🤲🏽,” Khaled posted at around 8pm PST. At 9:23pm PST, Khaled revealed that the baby had arrived.

Katsina man remanded for stealing 44 goats

A middle-aged-man, Lawal Almajir, has been remanded in a correctional centre on the order of a senior magistrate for allegedly rustling 44 goats at the Kagana village in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Almajir was caught with the animals on January 9, 2020, by a police patrol team attached to the Faskari Divisional Police Divisional Headquarters.

He is to remain in the facility till March 4, 2020, when his case comes up for mention before the Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court.

It was learnt that the police patrol team intercepted the defendant, who is a resident of the Dankwatau village in the Bage Local Government Area of Zamfara State, along with two others, whose names were given as Jibril Lawali and one Samaila, all residents of the same village.


According to the police, the defendant’s two other accomplices are still at large.

The police revealed that the rustled goats belonged to five people in the Unguwar Ango village in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The owners of the stolen animals are Mamman Ibrahim, Madina Ibrahim, Umar Ibrahim, Abubakar Usman and Usman Abubakar.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Lawal Bello, told the court that Almajir confessed to committing the crime along with two accomplices, who are still at large.

Almajir is facing charges of criminal conspiracy and cattle rustling.

The offences are said to be contrary to sections 59 (1) and 270 (1) (a) and punishable under subsection (b) of the Katsina State Penal Code, 2019.

Okunola listed former Director of Financial Intelligence and Research at the State Treasury Office, Mr. Olujimi Ige as the new Permanent Secretary at Debt Management Office (DMO), a former Director of Finance and Accounts of the State Auditor General, Mrs. Ajenifuja Kafayat Adetokunbo is Permanent Secretary, Parastatal Monitoring Office while Mr. Adeniji Hakeem Oduyinka, who until now was Director of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives moves up as Permanent Secretary, Office of the Civic Engagement.

EFCC stops N45m fake notes from circulation

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, through the arrest of Badamasi Sule and Muhammad Muhammad, suspected money-doublers, stopped the circulation of about N45m fake notes, packaged inside two Ghana-must-go bags.

These currency counterfeiters were arrested in December 2019, following actionable intelligence report which exposed a syndicate of fraudsters who specializes in printing fake N1,000 notes. They were also found to be in possession of fake $100 bills.

Disclosing this via its official Facebook handle, EFCC, said that investigations further revealed that two “Ghana-must-go bags” in their possession containing the N1,000 notes were shortly to be put into circulation.

Their primary targets are bureaux de change operators and unsuspecting members of the public.

The syndicate is believed to be operating from Gashua, Yobe State, with its dispatch lodge being a hotel located in Abacha Estate, close to the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja.

They will soon be arraigned in court.

Amred police men take over proposed venue of “Amotekun Solidarity Walk”

Armed mobile policemen, have taken over Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos, proposed venue for a protest code-named “Amotekun Solidarity Walk” organised by Yoruba World Congress.

The peaceful protest is supposed to take place in all South-West states.

Our correspondent, who is currently at the venue noticed heavy presence of security personnel in major recreation parks.

One of the leaders of the group is currently in talk with police while people hang around the venue.

YWC had called on Yoruba sons and daughters to come out in large numbers on Tuesday to participate in a rally to support Operation Amotekun, a security network recently established by governors of South-West Nigeria to wage war against insecurity across the region.

Meet the 25-year old man who is allergic to ejaculating

A man was left dreading his own orgasms after developing a bizarre "allergic" reaction to ejaculation.

The 25-year-old, who hasn't been identified, told docs he dreaded climaxing because he would suffer flu-like symptoms including anxiety, brain fog and fatigue afterwards.

His symptoms, which started as a teenager, were so debilitating he would avoid masturbation and tried not to ejaculate during s3x.

Medics from Men's Health Boston in Massachusetts explained the bizarre case in a recent article published in Urology Case Reports.


They said that his symptoms could be immediate, or delayed by two or three days, and would last between one and two weeks.

Dr Jose Bolanos, who treated the man, said: "Symptoms began at 16 years with sexual maturity and continued to the present time, regardless of whether ejaculation occurred via masturbation or intercourse with a female partner."

"For these reasons he avoided masturbation, and also attempted to avoid ejaculation when engaging in s3x with a partner.

"At the time of presentation he was single and orgasm frequency was once every two to three months."

He added that the patient's symptoms had affected his work and studies.

The man had seen several doctors and researched his symptoms extensively online.

He had also attempted various diets, supplements and allergy tablets without any sort of benefit, the medics noted.

Following extensive tests, his symptoms were diagnosed as post-orgasm illness syndrome (POIS).

The rare disorder is believed to be caused by men having an allergy to their own semen.

Man sentenced for stealing employer's laptop

Egor Magistrates Court in Benin, on Monday, sentenced Udoh Effong, 26, to one month in prison for stealing a laptop from his employer.

The Magistrate, Esohe Ighodan sentenced Effong, after he pleaded guilty to stealing and begged the court for leniency.

Ighodan, however, gave the convict an option to pay a fine of N10,000.

According to the Magistrate, the convict was sentenced based on facts and exhibits tenders.

The convict, however, alleged that he took the laptop after the complainant refused to pay him his money, hence he carried his laptop and gave his friend to keep it for him.

He added that his friend later gave the complainant the laptop, which complainant, however, denied.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Sunday Lucky, told the court that the offence was committed on Dec. 27, 2019 at upper Ekenwan , Ugbiyokho, a suburb area under the LGA.

Lucky said that the convict stole a HP laptop valued N68,000.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provision of sections 390(9)of the Criminal Code Cap. 48 Vol. 11, Laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976, now applicable in Edo.

Doctors seek couples to test male birth control gel - and they will get paid N1.4m

Scientists have developed a male birth control gel - and they’re looking for volunteers to test it out.

Researchers at the University of Kansas have developed the gel, and are seeking willing couples to try it.

The clear gel needs to be applied to the man’s shoulders every day for two years, where it’s absorbed into the skin.

Couples will be paid $4,000 (N1.4m) in compensation to try it, although they must be willing to have a baby in case the gel fails.


The gel, called NES/T is expected to be more effective than condoms, but can cause a range of side effects, including acne and weight gain, according to the researchers.

It contains two hormones. The first hormone, progestin, naturally blocks the action of testosterone, keeping the testes from producing sperm.

Meanwhile, the second hormone, testosterone, ensures that the man’s levels are normal, preventing side effects such as low s3x drive, mod changes and erectile dysfunction.

According to the researchers, the gel is 90% effective - roughly 3% more reliable than condoms.

These effects are however reversible within three to four months.

The researchers are seeking 420 couples, including at centres in Edinburgh, Manchester, Los Angeles, Washington, Italy and Sweden.
